There are like a million In-N-Outs in SoCal, so how did we end up at this one? We were on our way to LACMA and thought we should stop to grab lunch before we got there. A quick search found this In-N-Out and seemed like a good idea. In actuality, it was not, since it was just before lunchtime and the drive-thru line here is ridiculous. They have 2 guys outside working the line, taking orders on their mobile shoulder-paks, but the line still goes through the whole lot and out the other side. Never mind that we wanted to eat in, but the cars snaked through the parking lot preventing any cars that wanted to park or get out. It was just stupid crazy. We finally were able to get through and park in the street around the corner. This is just a bad location.
Inside, it is just as chaotic, but we got our order in and able to squat a table to wait for our burgers. I can't fault the crew because despite the lunch rush, the food quality was still as good as any In-N-Out. The Animal-style Double-Double was just as animally, fries just as crunchy fresh frenchy and the shakes just as thick, creamy and shakey. But they forgot to give us napkins and there are no napkin dispensers at the condiments stand. I didn't want to get back on line to ask, so we were able to get some from the restroom dispenser.
BTW, if you notice that there are only 4 items on the food side of the menu, but the famous In-N-Out Secret Menu allows them to make up prices as they go. An Animal-style D-D is $5.05 versus $4.85 for a regular D-D, which is not bad, but Cheese Fries is $4.30 and Animal Fries are $4.20 vs $2.10 for regular fries. There is no rhyme or reason, but they don't have to justify it because it's not posted. Just accept it for what it is and eat your burger.
