In-N-Out is a beloved California burger joint known for its customizable Double-Doubles, hand-cut fries, and shakes, all served fast and fresh in a casual setting.
"You’re never going to be disappointed by a meal at In-N-Out. We’ll say it loud and proud: a dirt-cheap, fast-food chain serves one of our favorite burgers in the city. We have yet to figure out how an operation so large could be so consistent, but that’s just the way In-N-Out does things. Head to Sunset Boulevard (or Venice, or Beverly Hills), say “double double, animal style” to anyone wearing a paper hat that will listen, and prepare for burger heaven." - Marisa Dunn
"The Double-Double combo meal at In-N-Out, which recently rose above $10. In-N-Out Burger raised its prices in April, the company is back in the spotlight as customers are now paying $11.44 after tax for a Double-Double combo with fries and a drink. The price of the Double-Double meal has risen steadily over the past few years. The latest price hike comes as a response to AB 1228, a bill that increased California’s minimum wage. A spokesperson for the Irvine-based burger company confirmed that employees now earn between $20 and $23, and the same combination meal costs about $0.25 more as of April 1, depending on location. Compared to other large fast-food chains, In-N-Out’s prices have made some of the smallest price increases across Southern California." - Mona Holmes
"Even the current novel coronavirus pandemic can’t stop those In-N-Out drive-thru lines. The ongoing global health crisis has caused restaurants across the state of California to shut down dine-in services and switch to offering delivery and takeout only, a move that has led to closures, layoffs, and an uncertain future across the board — except for at California’s beloved burger chain. Below is a video posted to Twitter yesterday from user Rabi Abonour showing dozens of cars lining up for more than a city block as drivers wait to pick up burgers from the Culver City location of In-N-Out. As the video shows, cars wrap around the building, all the way down the parking lot, and around the corner and well up the street. There are more than three dozen cars waiting at one time, and In-N-Out employees are seen standing in the street taking orders from customers on mobile screen — from a safe distance, of course. It’s a strange time for restaurants right now, as the COVID-19 pandemic has destroyed profits and led even international chains to struggle to do the basics like pay their rent. Others, like delivery companies, ghost kitchens, and chains like In-N-Out, seem to have managed to stay relatively steady during California’s Safer at Home mandate." - Farley Elliott
