Inchin's Bamboo Garden is a diverse culinary journey where some dishes truly shine, and others need refinement.
Our evening began with the "AK 47," a fiery cauliflower starter that packed a spicy punch. While the heat was impressive, the flavour complexity fell short, and we found ourselves missing other tastes beyond the overwhelming spicy sauce.
The Veg Gold Coins were a redemption. Crispy and flavorful, these coin-shaped bites were delightful with their combination of vibrant veggies and light breading. Although the patty was slightly oily, it didn't overshadow the overall enjoyable taste.
Moving on to the Garlic Pepper Chicken, we specifically chose the dry version, and it was a revelation. The chicken was tender and succulent, with each piece imbued with a smoky, peppery blend. The garlic brought a fragrant aroma that beautifully complemented the pepper's boldness. Undoubtedly the best dish we had that night.
Then came the Burnt Garlic Chili Fried Rice, a perfect balance of flavours. The rice was expertly fried with a generous helping of burnt garlic and a touch of heat, providing a savoury umami depth that left us wanting more.
The Street Side Chow Mein, unfortunately, didn't hit the same high note. While the noodles were cooked just right and had a decent flavour profile, there was an elusive ingredient missing, making the dish less memorable.
For dessert, the Chocolate Spring Rolls were divisive. I enjoyed the crispy wrapper encasing the gooey chocolate, offering a playful contrast, but my friends found it a bit gimmicky.
The Fried Ice Cream, on the other hand, was the perfect closer -- a warm, crisp shell giving way to a creamy, cold centre, perfectly balancing textures and sweetness.
Inchin's Bamboo Garden delivers some truly standout dishes that make it worth a visit, even if some flavours could use refinement.
