Nestled near the Beylerbeyi pier, this tavern combines an excellent location with an atmosphere of understated elegance. The terrace at the back is a true gem, especially during summer evenings—a perfect spot to enjoy the breeze and unwind.
The menu struck a fine balance between the classics and unique, thoughtfully curated dishes. What stood out to me was the inclusion of recipes borrowed from Tovmasyan, Yerasimos, and Evliya Çelebi, each crediting its historical source—a rare and commendable gesture of culinary homage.
For my meal, I tried Hurma Kebabı for the first time, and it was nothing short of exceptional. Paired with the attentive and warm service, it’s no surprise this tavern has become one of my favourites in Istanbul. A must-visit for both locals and visitors seeking a refined yet authentic dining experience.
