We had a very unpleasant experience with Hotel Inda, Varkala. We had called and booked a room for three people and even paid a 30% advance. Later, when one more friend decided to join us, we called the hotel the night before to ask if they could accommodate one extra person. The staff informed us that it wasn’t possible and that we would need to book another room. When we mentioned that taking another room would be beyond our budget, the staff member rather rudely remarked, “Then scoot, what else to do,” which we found extremely unprofessional and disrespectful.||Since it was clear they couldn’t accommodate us, we politely told them we’d like to cancel and find another place instead. They asked us to call back the next morning regarding the refund. However, when we did, the manager was extremely rude and unprofessional. He raised his voice, saying, “This is not a dormitory,” and refused to listen to anything we said. We even explained that we were only calling because their own staff had asked us to do so, but he continued to be impolite and dismissive.||What made things worse was that after we ended the call, he kept calling and messaging again, even though we had clearly said we didn’t want to engage any further. It was very uncomfortable and completely unnecessary.||Just a heads-up to anyone considering this place — the staff here can be very rude and ill-mannered, with no sense of professionalism or courtesy. Definitely not the kind of experience you’d expect when you’re just trying to plan a peaceful trip.
