Let me preface this by saying the low review is not for the food. The food is good; service was not so much.
I have been to this location a few times before but not to eat in. This was actually my fist time eating in. This place was chosen to treat my BFF for her birthday, and I had an Entertainment card/coupon and thought I would be saving 25% off my bill, but that did not go quite as expected. I will elaborate more below.
We were promptly seated, but it seemed our server was less than enthused to be there or serve us (or anyone else) in particular. BFF ordered some coffee, but it was like pulling teeth to get her some cream, but eventually, she got it. We decided to order the tandoori chicken meal for two, which included samosas and dessert. I ordered the mango ice cream for dessert but didn't finish it.
The samosas were delicious, but the sauce made them even more tasty. The dishes of the main course started to arrive-vegetable curry, rice, and the tandoori. For the most part, everything was flavorful. The curry was a little bland, but not too bad. Leftovers were certainly in effect.
The real issue came when it was time to settle the bill. I had an Enertainment coupon that was in the book, which I did not bring; however, I did bring the card that accompanies the book. The server initially told me that they didn't accept any coupon or card from Entertainment at all. It was obvious that he was not being truthful; otherwise, why would India Palace be in the Entertainment book in the first place? I could give the server the BOTD that he was new, but I don't think this was the case, as neither the server nor the manager stated that the server was new and didn't know all the rules.
At any rate, the manager had to be summoned, and I was told by the manager that since I didn't have the actual paper coupon that was in the book (which admittedly was my fault for not bringing the book or tearing the coupon out of the book and bringing it with me) and only had the card that I would be able to save only 10%. I was not happy , but it was something. My friend and I decided to split the bill, which, again, was not the original plan. I was not happy at all and we left shortly after the bill was paid. I don't know if that's how they originally operate or if it was an off day, I will not be returning to this particular location anytime soon.
