Great service! We came in with a party of 10 around early dinner time and we got seated right away. The waiter was friendly and was able to suggest food options for us, he took our orders and also asked if we’d like to pay together or split (which a lot of places fuss about because it’s too much work) but he didn’t fuss over and separated our checks. The biriyani chicken was so good, the nan bread was so warm, fluffy just cozy. This place is delicious, I’d definitely come back again if I’m craving Indian food.

Google
Visiting St Paul and was looking for good Indian food. Ordered delivery from India Palace and was happy with my choice of restaurant. Food was hot (something you don’t always get with delivery) and very tasty. I went with dinner for 2 vegetarian option that allowed me to pick the 2 entree , Naan , appetizer and dessert. Everything was very delicious and value for money. I would now like to visit the restaurant while I am here for next few days.

Google
Vegetarian Dal and Lamb Korma were so yummy! At the time of this review, they have a collective 4.2stars but the food here was very delicious! Quiet location with adequate parking and room for groups of people dining.

I went this place to try their buffet the food was good but the options are very few and clean nice good atmosphere

Very disappointing experience. While dining, we had to deal with flies around the food, which was already off-putting. The wait staff were rude, throwing the receipt and card at us instead of handing them politely. We also felt judged and mistreated based on our appearance, which made us deeply uncomfortable. The reception was rushed and unwelcoming, giving us no space or time to settle in. We were urged to pay and leave quickly, which ruined what should have been a relaxed meal. Never following up on low Google reviews also indicates a serious lack of care for customers and service quality. Sadly, we won’t be returning.

Google
Delicious Indian food- both to take out and eat in. I love the Chicken Johst, Palak Aloo, Samosas, Mango Lassi, Naan, Tandoori Chicken, Mango Chutney. The service is fast and they are polite. The only thing I don’t like is I heard from a reliable source that the owners do not give tips to the waitstaff but keep the money. That ia really disappointing. They work so hard!

I am so glad that the Friday all you can eat Lunch buffet is back at India Palace. This is definitely my favorite buffet lunch in the Twin Cities area. They have a good selection of many different flavorful Indian dishes to choose from. The Naan bread is always amazingly delicious. I always get the mango Lassi as a drink, and it is absolutely delicious and a great thirst quencher. Great staff. Edit: Just had take out from this location and it was amazing as well.

Yelp
New Year's Day it's not easy to find places that are open, but IP stuck with its regular hours. This was a lifesaver for me, as I needed to order 3 entrees to be picked up for an early (430 PM) dinner. Staff was very courteous, the dishes were tasty and stayed warm through the five minute drive home. Portions were generous, with (hurrah!) lots of leftovers for the next day. We had Chicken Josht, Chicken Shahi Korma, and Palak Paneer, along with two orders of Naan. I'm already looking forward to the next visit. Thanks much! ds

Yelp
I'm not an expert on Indian food but this is kind of my comfort food. Had the paneer Tikka which is probably my favorite veg dish in the world and there's is really solid. Staff is pretty good. Better for lunch than dinner in my mind

Yelp
This place is really good. Specially their garlic naan. The seasoning was so good. I love their chicken butter with garlic naan. Their rice is good that I can get eat by itself lol

Yelp
Appetizers: - Chili Pakora ($5.95). Five LARGE Pakoras (about the size of a small potato). The batter was soft (not crunchy) over a mild Chili Pepper. I expected a little more "heat", but the Pakora is tastes good and is enough to share. Entree: - India Special ($21.95). One word: HUGE! I wasn't expecting a full skillet of chicken, lamb, shrimp, onions, and tomatoes--Plus, the chicken curry bowl--Plus, a large Naan bread (your choice)--Plus, a bowl of Jasmine Rice! Definitely a shareable meal! My only complaint: I asked for very spicy, and it tasted normal spice. Maybe they figured a white boy like me can't handle the heat. Anyway, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Drink: - Taj Mahal Beer ($8.00). It's a 24-oz bottle, so you get two "regular-sized beers" in one. Service; Fast, friendly, and they all smile--like they are happy you are here. Pretty rare for Servers these days. Ambiance: White Tablecloths, red cloth napkins, nice ambient cultural music. Tasteful art and decor. A tranquil dining environment. I felt very relaxed dining here. Other: They do a brisk business! Many takeouts and at 6:00 pm on a Wednesday, the dining room only had a few open tables. Overall: If you're staying at the DoubleTree (Roseville) next door--it's a no-brainer. Just go! Otherwise, you should still go. Great prices, great food, great service. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Yelp
This was what I would call a basic Indian food buffet for lunch. There were around half a dozen dishes. None were terribly hot and spicy. The flavors were good. The atmosphere was fine. I would say the service was a little slow, but not so slow that I would skip going here again. This had all the basics. I was hoping for more variety, but in the end I was satisfied with the meal.

Yelp
This restaurant has been consistently great throughout my time in MN. I have been coming here for the most flavorful delicious Indian food since 2016-2017 timeframe. I have driven around tried many other places but most have felt short. Tonight was a low-key chill night with o e of my friends and after both having a long week, we simply didn't want to gamble with trying something new and being disappointed so we picked a spot that we knew wouldn't disappoint. The ambiance is always right. The waiter was hilarious and patient with us. The food was FREAKING GREAT!! I didn't take too many pics because I was busy enjoying the food service and company. This is absolutely my fave Indian food restaurant in MN, hands down.

Yelp
Enjoyed lunch with a group of 10 people during a weekday. All indicated dishes were good, including lamb saag, chicken tikka masala, beef vindaloo, shrimp and chicken tandooris, garlic naan. Atmosphere is pleasant and service was attentive.

NG N.

Yelp
I was a customer from the very beginning, soon after the doors opened. I have seen a steady decline in quality of food, the attentiveness and care of the serving staff, and an increase in prices. I loved their chicken korma, and now I won't order it. It's such a shame because the food used to be so good and I won't return. The last time I was there we were put on the far side of the restaurant where there were no other customers, we were ignored, no one came back to check on us to see how we liked the food, both of us ended throwing up and when we tried to leave, they made us pay with no apologies for the poor service, and/or the potentially tainted food.

Yelp
Had a simple meal of Meena naan with raita and achar. Service and ambiance was great. They were busy. Wish they would stop adding sugar to yoghurt. I like my food savory and not Hawaii style.

Yelp
This is our favorite Indian restaurant for take out or eat in. The dining room is nicely furnished, not just thrown together with spare pieces like at some places we've been to! Service is prompt and polite and there are many menu options. It's worth a longer drive.

Sarai S.

Yelp
I got DoorDash, so I cannot give a full review. But I have to say their garlic naan was the best naan I've ever had in my life- same with the rice. The naan had garlic pieces and fresh herbs on top!

Yelp
Best Indian Food In Twin Cities Upon walking in you breathe in the wonderful aroma of Indian food and you know you're in for something special. My family and I have been coming here for over 20 years. Mostly we get our food to go, but sometimes we're lucky enough to dine in. It's always a treat. We love the family friendly, come as your are vibe. There's a number of really good vegetarian dishes, and the biryanis are fantastic. We like the samosas for an appetizer. My wife loves the chicken makhani. The chicken tandoori is excellent as well. In 20 years we've never had anything we didn't like. Dishes are big enough to share family style, but the prices are reasonable enough that you'll want to order extra to take home. We love "the palace" so much, if they ever close, we'll probably just move.

Eden B.

Yelp
The food is great and so are the people. Everything I've had here has been fantastic. One of our favorite spots! They do a good job with their tofu too!

Yelp
Consistently great The service is friendly and attentive, the food is delicious, and the ambiance is warm and inviting.

Rh C.

Yelp
Consistently good food. Prices feel appropriate for the amount and quality of food you get. Sometimes can be slow service but depends on how busy it is with take out orders. The staff are friendly. I love the samosas, tomato soup, and rogan josh (spelling?), and naan (garlic or regular). Nice ambience, generally pretty calm. The place is always clean. Clean bathrooms. I definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
I had the Tikka Masala which I have had at numerous other Indian restaurants. The dish here didn't measure up to other restaurants I have been to. It's difficult to explain, but if you are used to traditional Tikka Masala, then you will notice the difference. One difference is the sauce is light orange vs deeper redish orange. Naan was OK. Could have used more butter.

Jay L.

Yelp
As a delivery driver, I am greeted here with the assumption that I am a thief, from the moment I state that I am here to serve their customers. I make good money, and choose to spend my entertainment dollars based on how an establishment treats workers. I see no need ever to spend my time and money with a business who sees their support staff with such contempt.

Alexandra S.

Yelp
An absolute favorite whether for take out or dining in. Terrific menu and options to choose level of spicy by dish.
google avatar

Rajiv D.

Yelp
Average quality very spicy food. Will not order again. Need to adjust space level for flavors to release instead of burning hot food.

Los B.

Yelp
This restaurant was really good and the customer service was great. The Mango Lassi is amazing and everyone should try it. The prices were also pretty good.
google avatar

Yelp
Ooohhhh this is so good. I usually order chicken kashmiri and garlic naan. The chicken tikka masala is also quite good. There are so many tasty things on the menu. I love it spicy and they make it spicy for me, but you can ask for it to be mild, too.

L. M.

Yelp
Love the chicken Tandoori here, customer service tends to be good and atmosphere very nice. I really enjoy the Roseville location, I have yet to go to any other.

Yelp
Very clean and wonderful ambiance. Food is wonderful with many vegetarian choices. Price is not too expensive. All the waiters and waitresses are smiling and welcoming. The service is very fast. I highly recommend this Indian restaurant!!!

Yelp
They have put exceedingly amount of good food in my take-out order last night, the lid almost gave up, gosh I still have some of it until today...Love it!!!

Yelp
This is a review of the new redesign which was badly done. The food is 5 star but no more buffet and I guess they did this so no one would ask again. BUT - less seating, less private seating, narrow seating, and pick up food is now in the back of the restaurant at a worthless bar. Alot of money spent on an unnecessary remodel by someone who has never dined there. The booths WERE ALWAY FULL - the booths were the favorite seating. Now you are lucky to get one. We go less. Bummer - I feel sorry for the waiters that must judge the guests size and lead them away from a booth because they won't fit!! If no more buffet, I wish they had some variations of mixed platters to have a bit of variety, always liked that.

Yelp
I've been to this place a couple of times and definitely think you could get better Indian food somewhere else. Definitely NOT authentic Indian food. As someone who loves spicy food- the food is not spicy, we do a 5 for "Indian hot" and am disappointed (they do a scale of 1-5). We ordered the dinner for two (comes with an appetizer, roti or naan, Biryani and dessert). The samosas were average, the chicken and shrimp Biryani was definitely not Biryani- it was more like saggy fried rice with only 2-3 pieces of cut up shrimp and they forgot to give us our dessert. Although they did charge us less for their mistakes- which I appreciated. The lunch buffet is okay for the price (under $15 person) with some options (for vegetarians too, but I wouldn't say so for vegans- many of the dishes uses dairy products and glee). Overall, I found the dishes to be plain, oily and not as full of flavor and spices like Indian food typically is. Pros: the place is a bit fancy and looks clean, many options to choose from, lunch buffet, convenient location (in Roseville, off 35W) Cons: slow service, seems to be short staff, plain food

Jennifer B.

Yelp
AMAZING FOOD!! Service was great very friendly and clean. Very pleased Chicken Makhani

Lydia A.

Yelp
I ordered lamb biryani and it's the worst I have ever had. I can even make it far better than that. The lamb was overcooked and tasted stale, the owner himself was not very friendly. Not sure about other foods but I definitely wouldn't waste my money on them.
google avatar

David P.

Yelp
Well I would give a five star rating if they still had the amazing buffet I used to make a trip to weekly. Their buffet had a wonderful selection of delicious Indian food, naan, and of course rice pudding. Since they no longer have been doing the buffet I find myself for similar prices going to places like namaste when I have a craving or make it myself using the wonderful Indian grocery store near me in Arden Hills. If the buffet comes back it's a five without it it well it's average as there is better and also worse.
google avatar

Claudia V.

Yelp
Good service. I ordered the vegetable Korma and my companion ordered the Chicken Josh. The Josh was flavorful, but not hot, like we had hoped. Perhaps have a conversation with your sever about what you expect for heat; don't just ask for spicy. The Korma was a bit bland for my taste. The veggies inside were cooked perfectly. The rice was perfect. The garlic naan was fluffy.

Al B.

Yelp
Good food, got the dinner for 2 for $39, good value. You get an app, a variety of tandoori chickens and lamb, lamb curry, curry veg, and dessert. Great value!

LaTisha W.

Yelp
I ordered shrimp makhani but I received chicken Kashmiri . The store is closed and I'm allergic to this
google avatar

Jared F.

Yelp
I was surprised to find excellent and authentic Indian food in Minnesota! But India Palace was a rare and unique treat. On my travel I had an excellent curry with rice and naan. Everything had an amazing homemade taste and the Indian medium was spicy enough but I think I'll go for Indian hot next time.

Baller B.

Yelp
take out is so bad. I waited 30 minutes outside my estimated pick up time and comfronted them. "accidentally lost the order ticket." Would they have me just sitting and checking if I hadn't said anything? Do better.
google avatar

J.k. P.

Yelp
The logistics of ordering suck 0/10. If you utilize ordering apps to help assist with orders then adjust the "availability." If you open at 11 and your order states it will be available by 11:15 am. Don't make the customer wait an additional 30 mins for said order. Call the customer when you open and change the order pickup time. Common courtesy. Wasn't the only one.

Howard F.

Yelp
Takeout is poor. I waited more than 20 minutes after their given pickup time (all of my takeouts from other restaurants during the Pandemic have been on time -- usually early). Once I was home, we found that they had omitted the dessert we had ordered.
google avatar

Anna G.

Yelp
The dinner for two is a GREAT deal! We ordered the vegetarian dinner for two and got two full entrees, two types of naan, an appetizer, and dessert for about $40 with tip included. Pickup was seamless and the food was packaged well for the ride home - no leaky containers! All the food was incredible. We especially loved the Gobi Manchurian (fried cauliflower in a marinade) as an entrée and mix pakora (reminded me of falafel) as an app. The gulab jamun (similar to donut holes but more dense and in a syrup) were some of best I've had. We will definitely be ordering again!

Yelp
Something strange happened here. This used to be a good spot for buffet pre-COVID 19. After that the a la carte menu was dependably above average. This last time though... I don't know what's going on. The sauces are nothing like they used to be, bland, no trace of ground spices, definite starchiness like jarred sauce. One dish ordered mild, the other ordered super spicy, both exactly the same. Rice was more long grain California than basmati. Service was never great here but now they started forgetting things from the order. They forgot what onion chutney was, something that was a real highlight of the old buffet. We overheard the next table tell the waiter their food was inedible; normally I think "Karen," but this time I could sympathize. I wonder if they suddenly lost all of their cooks at once and are trying to make do with packaged sauces.

Yelp
Let me preface this by saying the low review is not for the food. The food is good; service was not so much. I have been to this location a few times before but not to eat in. This was actually my fist time eating in. This place was chosen to treat my BFF for her birthday, and I had an Entertainment card/coupon and thought I would be saving 25% off my bill, but that did not go quite as expected. I will elaborate more below. We were promptly seated, but it seemed our server was less than enthused to be there or serve us (or anyone else) in particular. BFF ordered some coffee, but it was like pulling teeth to get her some cream, but eventually, she got it. We decided to order the tandoori chicken meal for two, which included samosas and dessert. I ordered the mango ice cream for dessert but didn't finish it. The samosas were delicious, but the sauce made them even more tasty. The dishes of the main course started to arrive-vegetable curry, rice, and the tandoori. For the most part, everything was flavorful. The curry was a little bland, but not too bad. Leftovers were certainly in effect. The real issue came when it was time to settle the bill. I had an Enertainment coupon that was in the book, which I did not bring; however, I did bring the card that accompanies the book. The server initially told me that they didn't accept any coupon or card from Entertainment at all. It was obvious that he was not being truthful; otherwise, why would India Palace be in the Entertainment book in the first place? I could give the server the BOTD that he was new, but I don't think this was the case, as neither the server nor the manager stated that the server was new and didn't know all the rules. At any rate, the manager had to be summoned, and I was told by the manager that since I didn't have the actual paper coupon that was in the book (which admittedly was my fault for not bringing the book or tearing the coupon out of the book and bringing it with me) and only had the card that I would be able to save only 10%. I was not happy , but it was something. My friend and I decided to split the bill, which, again, was not the original plan. I was not happy at all and we left shortly after the bill was paid. I don't know if that's how they originally operate or if it was an off day, I will not be returning to this particular location anytime soon.

Yelp
Welcome again to...Hong's Honest Food Review. India Palace: Located by 36 and 35w, it's easy to ignore this restaurant that sits on a frontage road. It doesn't look fancy on the outside. Truth be told, i thought is was going to be like a perkins or denny's. Came in the door and was quite impressed with the look of the restaurant. It had a dim yellow lighting throughout the dining area. Tableware was very nice. Looked like a date night place. The service was excellent. They checked up regularly and filled the water every time they came by. They were very pleasant. The food: Vegetable Samosa: I love samosas whether it's from a Mediterranean, African, or Indian restaurant. The crust is crispy. The filling was curry potatoe. It was savory and soft. Pretty good samosa. It cam with two sauces. One was a milder, sweeter A1 sauce. The other was like a chimichurri sauce. You could taste the colantro and onion in the blend. Both were good. Briyoni: Best way to put it, it's like another version of paella. It's as if the rice was cooked in a stew. The rice wasn't dry, and soaked up the curry and spices flavor. I tasted a chutney flavor in the dish. There was shrimp, chicken, and lamb. The chicken was flavorful. Mostly savory but comolented the flavor from the rice. The shrimp had shrimp texture but tasted like the curry stew base. The lamb was awesome. It had that light bitter taste but but had a texture of pork. It mixed very well with the curry and was super tender. It came with a white sauce that almost reminded me a taziki sauce from a gyro but it was served cold with a lot of veggies in it. Naan bread came along with the dish as well. The bottom was ao crispy from being cooked in a brick oven. Then they topped it off with garlic. It was delicious. For dessert it was a deep fried milk ball smothered in syrup. Very sweet. Texture kind of reminded me of a krispy kreme donut. Not bad. All together, it was a good new experience with a food i haven't tried before. I would go again. Prices per plate were $15+. 7.7 out of 10.

Yelp
Amazing food and service!! I've never had the pleasure of eating Indian food and the lovely staff guided me to foods I now love!! Huge portions but I boxed much of my food so I could also have dessert!! Kosar Kulfi is a homemade ice cream AND a must!! Loved it here

Yelp
Excellent Food with Great Hospitality and welcome by Anil Kumar - I must say a complete Indian Cultural Experience. The Place is busy but meals are prepared with detailed attention and are really fresh - not reheated or microwaved !! Highly recommend if you crave for good meal and a true experience of Indian Culture.

Yelp
I absolutely love going to this restaurant! The menu is very large, and I have never been disappointed. The vegetarian selection is fantastic, and the flavors are great. You have the option to select different spice levels. They even have a nice date-night special. There's really something for everyone here! If you have a nut allergy, read the menu carefully and ask the staff members; some of the dishes include nuts. The pricing is fair. I always get two meals out of what I order. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very different than what you'd expect from the exterior. It's very nicely decorated and clean.

Diana D.

Yelp
Amazing! Currently in food coma‍ Music and atmosphere is perfect Bohot bohot accha khana

Yelp
The food is good and the customer service is okay as well. Just would recommend being more attentative when dining in.

Yelp
HORRIBLE place. Here is what happened to me and my friend. We went there on 12/28/22 at around 5/6 p.m. We sat at table A5 and our waiter was Charan, according to my receipt. I ordered Curry Pakora, which are these delicious fritters in a yogurt sauce. I've had this at other places and it was delicious. It came out and it was a pile of potatoes and onions in this weird soupy yogurt sauce. It looked and smelled disgusting. I told the waiter this was not what I ordered and he insisted that the gross slop in front of me was exactly what I ordered and it wasn't. When I described what I believed Curry Pakora to be, he claims what I was describing was Malai Kofta, which it was NOT. It's a totally different thing. When I told him I wanted the kitchen to remake it, he said I would have to pay another $14 for a new meal. So I paid $14 for a meal I hated and he refused to make me happy in any way. He said the only way they would prepare a new meal was if I paid for it, even though there is no way that a vegetable dish like curry pakora costs the restaurant $14. He refused to make us happy and then when he made it awkward, my friend generously shared my meal with me. He came back only one time the rest of the meal to fill up water once, and he came back again to take our money, and someone else had to come back for actual real service. It was such a disaster. I have never been treated so rudely in my life. I love Indian food and I know it very well. But it is HORRIBLE here, and moreover, so is the service. I will never be back at this particular restaurant location again.

Yelp
I like this restaurant more and more each time I come here. The lunch buffet is small, but still an excellent value for what you get. The full dinner menu has never once disappointed us. The cook and spice of the food is always on point. This might be my favorite Indian restaurant in the twin cities, but I have a few more to try before I'm sure. I'll eventually post a more detailed review with photos.
