India Village Restaurant

We loved the food at India Village. It felt like homemade soul food. Great chef, great staff and they make great food. They were extremely attentive and also gave us a ride back to our hotel just was super sweet of them. We HIGHLY recommend them to anyone visiting Switzerland. Definitely deserves 5 stars ⭐️

We went to India Village to eat 3 days out of 4. Food was amazing! The staff was very friendly and even offered us a ride back to our hotel. We will surely come back when we visit Interlaken again! Great food. Great atmosphere. Very friendly family!

The restaurant food was fantastic and perfectly spiced. My kids, wife and I loved the food. The service is prompt and efficient. At the end of the dinner, the owner had someone drop us off to our apartment because it was raining outside. Thank you so much. Highly recommend this Indian restaurant. Avoid the other ones in town.

Had dinner here while in Interlaken and it was absolutely terrific. Lovely and pleasant hosts and wait staff and the food was so authentically delicious. Even my very picky 8 year old who ordered their French fries and nuggets had it all flavored with Indian spices which she loved. We will definitely be returning!!!

We were guests at the TCS campsite last week. During our stay, we visited the Indian Village restaurant and enjoyed the delicious Indian food. I had never thought I would get to eat food this good that it doesn't feel like I'm in another country, if you are an Indian and want to eat Indian food in Interlaken this is the place to go without any second doubt . The taste of the food, the ambience , the hospitality of the staff was exceptional and the owner Mr. Rupinder was a wonderful host. The best Indian food experience you'll have in Switzerland

We had an absolutely phenomenal experience at India Village Restaurant! The Indian food was authentic, flavorful, and easily some of the best we've ever had – every dish packed with depth and richness. The service was lightning fast and incredibly attentive, yet never intrusive. What truly set this place apart, though, was the hospitality. The staff went above and beyond in every possible way – it genuinely felt like we were being welcomed into someone’s home rather than just another restaurant. The location is idyllic – nestled near the river with breathtaking views of the Alps. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxed yet unforgettable meal. And the cherry on top? They even dropped us off at our hotel afterward. That small gesture was just one of many that showed how committed they are to creating an exceptional experience. We were absolutely blown away. This isn’t just a restaurant – it’s an experience. A must-visit if you're anywhere nearby.

Best Indian restaurant we have tried so far after living in Switzerland for almost two years! The waitress insisted we tried their butter chicken, while we are normally not fond of this Anglo-Indian dish, this one knocked us out. Actually tastes like a super flavourful Indian dish. Service was also friendly and fast. Location is close to the river and less busy. 100% recommend!

It's a 10minute walk from harder Klum side . Food was fresh and delicious. Mattar paneer, garlic naan and samosa was good. Service was friendly and quick. If you are craving Desi food in interlaken would definitely recommend this place

Food is average, I did not find butter chicken was done well. It was missing tanginess/ tomato flavor in the curry. Priced high for the quality /quantity. Plus naans were like heated frozen naans.

We stayed one night in Interlaken. We took a pleasant walk along the river to India Village. Food was wonderful. We had the chicken curry and butter chicken along with appetizers. Best samosas I've ever had. The staff were informative and friendly. Even offered to drive us back to our hotel as it was after dark! The river walk was lighted with lots of people so no problem. I highly recommend this restaurant!

We had an excellent meal at India Village. My wife had the Aloo Gobhi and I had the Channa Masala. Both were very good and the spice level was mild as we had requested. Our waiter was very pleasant and we learned from speaking with him that he was interning there and is studying hospitality management. We ate outside and the weather was cool but not cold, so we enjoyed the atmosphere. It is a little difficult to find. You are supposed to follow a path along the water, but we didn't and ended up walking through a campground. We almost gave up but then found it and we are glad we did. If you find yourself wandering in the campground, just keep going...it's worth it. The owners were nice enough to offer us a ride back to our hotel which we appreciated after getting a little lost on the way there. Highly recommend this restaurant.

great food and service. the hot tomato soup was perfectly spicy on a rainy day. the chicken biriyano was clutch (beware it's spicy).

If you are visiting Interlaken you must try India Village! Everything was amazing. Service was outstanding (which is saying something because we brought our very curious 3 year old). The food was delicious, we had the butter chicken and chicken masala, both were excellent. It is a bit off the beaten path but well worth it, much better than some of the other places we tried directly on the Main Street.

HANDS ON the best experience I have ever had. The staff and service was on point. Food was so so yummy. The owner who is also the chef is honestly the kindest soul. We got to chat with him and learn a bit about his journey and struggles to get where he is today and it's truly inspiring. Im happy for all the success his family has received wish them continued success and will definitely rave about this place to anyone visiting Interlaken. Thank you for an amazing time. We got palak paneer, dal makhani, jeera rice, jeera aloo, Labna and mango lassi everything was on point

BEST INDIAN IVE EVER HAD. Couldnt even take a picture because we ate it so fast. Buttered chicken was outstanding. Malabar fish was excellent. Samosa was perfectly flavored, crispy yet moist, and crust wasnt too thick. Naan was good too. If we were here longer id come back. If you want a memorable meal, stop in!

Great food. Every dish was cooked fresh and was delicious. We had the veg dishes and liked all of them. The staff are super friendly. It was raining and the staff helped us arrange for a taxi back to our hotel.

I absolutely loved this little restaurant! There were tons of options for Indian food in Interlaken but i decided to try this one as my fellow yelpers said that this place is awesome and they were right! This place has the most authentic indian food. We ordered roti with aloo mutter, yellow dal tadka and rice. Everything was so delicious. Service was really good. The place is owned by a small Punjabi family. They also have free parking.

After a cold and rainy day in Interlaken, we decided to go for an Indian meal with our family - we chose it based off the high reviews and it definitely didn't disappoint. By far the best meal we've had during our stay. Every dish was seasoned well and executed perfectly. After the meal, we were chatting with a member of the restaurant staff who then offered to drive us back to our hotel as the walk was quite far. Undoubtedly the only time that's ever happened to us while traveling abroad. Best Indian food in the town by far

I was travelling with my parents to Switzerland and on their 7th consequtive day in Switzerland they were definitely craving Indian food. We found this place based on a simple Google search and decided to go here since it had atleast some reviews. To my surprise, this turned out to be a big hit. Honestly, it's not the best indian food I have had but it was pretty good for a option available in Interlarken. We ordered the basic butter chicken, dal tadka and chapati. Everything was delicous. If you are craving an Indian meal and are in the area, I highly recommend this place.

This is the best Indian food I have ever eaten!! I would come back to visit Interlaken just to come here again. My boyfriend and I ordered their house special, butter chicken, with garlic naan. It was the perfect amount of food for the two of us and just indescribably good. Also, we had a short wait time for food and the service was incredible -- one of the employees even offered to drive us back to where we were staying to keep us out of the cold. It's a little out of the way but totally worth the walk. Thank you India Village!!!

This is a decent restaurant for Indian food at 15 mins walk from interlaken OST station. We ordered butter chicken, tadka dal and palak paneer and the portion sizes were pretty good. The service was good and the restaurant was clean. I was a bit skeptical based on other reviews but the place was nice and clean. The walk from interlaken ost is a bit taxing as there is no shoulder on the road for a small stretch.

Was in Interlaken for a day from the SF Bay Area, which is saturated with good Indian food, and to be honest, I wasn't expecting much. I have never been happier to be wrong. This restaurant was on par with the best Indian food I've ever had. The mango lassis were amazing, as was the mint tea and the pakoras. You simply must try the butter chicken and the Daal Makhani. Would give it 6 stars if I could - more than worth the walk and the staff was nothing but kind and accommodating for 5 teenage boys.

We picked this restaurant based on Yelp reviews. It's a little out of the way but easily accessible, close to Harder Kulm. My wife and I ordered paratha, basmati rice, chicken tikka marsala, and vegetable curry. All of the food was great. Quite reasonably priced. They knew we had a train to catch, so they offered to give us a ride back to the train station - door to door service. I highly recommend this place. Very personable, they were genuinely interested that we liked the food. If I wasn't just a tourist I would go there on a regular basis. The food is tasty as Indian food we get in California at a high-end restaurant.

This is the best Indian food I have had outside of India. The paneer was really soft and so were the chapathi's. After our dinner they even offered to drop us at the train station which was a really sweet gesture. If you are craving Indian food this is the place to go to in Interlaken.

At one point during my meal at India Village today I looked up at the mountains and saw myself surrounded by the majestic Himalayas. When I pointed this out to my fellow eaters, they looked at me as if I had gone mad. In fact, I had not. The fragrant spices and delicate flavors of the biryani, rotis, and curries had overwhelmed my sense of location and transported me back to the motherland. A refreshing sip of my mango lassi mellowed my mind and allowed me to come back to the Alps, and some would say reality itself. This is all to say that India Village has great food, and even better service. You won't be disappointed, and if you're anything like me you may end up with a free trip to South Asia.

Authentic Punjabi flavor food . Must go . We went really late around closing time and still 5 star service. They made special Kichdi for us .

This shit-hole was appalling. Ways to improve: 1. Good not overpriced food 2. Door that actually close or open (my brother got locked and stuck in the toilet in room 5) 3. Get rid of all the flies 4. Get rid of the disgusting smell 5. Be more cultural 6. Don't be generally shit

We were staying in Lauterbrunnen and came to Interlaken to try this place so you can Imagine our love for Indian food. And we were not disappointed. Amazing Indian food. We had the paneer lababdar and lachcha paratha. They charged us for onions which is not typical at Indian places. But anywayy the taste beats everything. Service was little slow but I can work with that if food tastes great which it did. Recommed to every Indian visiting Interlaken.

Authentic Indian cuisine in the heart of Interlaken. Excellent spice balance and freshly made food. We had paneer makhanwaala and dal makhni with tandoori roti/naan and it was delicious!

We were staying in Lucerne and came to Interlaken for 1 day visit. We really loved the food. The restaurant was 15-20mins walk away from interlaken OST train station. The chef was from Northern India so you can get the authentic spicy Indian flavor. The prices are okay, not overpriced considering the location.

Food was ok but they need to work on cleaning up the place. We got swarmed with flies during lunch (and we were sitting inside). I don't like taking off a star because of that but it's hard to eat with a constant buzzing and bugs landing on your food. Other than that, the food tasted good but they should give more chicken in their entrees. The chicken curry and chicken tikka had much less than an order at any other Indian restaurant in town
