Where to Go RV Camping in Joshua Tree National Park

"Indian Cove Campground sits off of Highway 62 between the towns of Joshua Tree and Twentynine Palms. It may be easy to access, but the campground's ambience and views aren't compromised — it sits among huge rock formations near several rock-climbing routes." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Very clean campsites with clean restrooms. Perfect for families and large groups; The area is tucked away from "civilization" enough for the full camping experience, but close enough to the main highway and shopping centers incase of emergency or maybe to pick up a few items forgot at the house. Also, easy trails and rock climbing for older and younger family members as well as some nearby overland trails that are pretty fun. Great place for family camping 👍🏽 👍🏽 👍🏽 👍🏽 👍🏽

The most beautiful campsite I’ve ever stayed at. Group site was HUGE with a water fillup conveniently at the ranger station nearby. Bathrooms were relatively clean. The many tables made it easy to eat and spend time together as a group. We didn’t use the grill but we used the fire pit a few times.

My only complaint is that the restroom locations only have one stall. The restroom near my campsite always had people waiting. One stall to be shared by several campsites is not enough. Restrooms were fairly clean. Campsite are surrounded by cool boulders. Was nice that there is a separate bbq grill from the fire pit grill. Was very windy during my stay. Make sure to tie your tent/canopy down good!

We spent our honeymoon at Joshua Tree in our Sprinter van. We stayed at the Indian Cove Campsite our first night nestled against the boulders. Our fire danced off the huge boulder right next to the van. Tomorrow we move to Jumbo Rocks Campground. Phone reception is not great but there is reception. The weather here in April is perfect. We are very pleased with our current lodgings. Joshua Tree National Park is an amazing place to make life long memories!!

Not within the actual national park but very close to it. Less than 30 minutes to the main strip of 29 Palms, convenient if you forget anything. Beautiful campsite nestled up against rock formations. Solid climbing spots all around as well. Toilet facility and trash bins on-site. Would definitely go back.

Nice campsites between rocks. They are not on top of each other but we can hear and see your neighbors. Remember this is a dry camp so NO water. You must bring in all you need but you can fill up at the ranger's station. I have been here at least 3 trips and will come back again when I visit Joshua Tree NP.

Well kept campground, can get busy with day trippers out climbing on an organized outing. Local teens were annoying when they drove up after dark and started partying right on the road in front of some campers - lots of wide open spaces, no need to be inconsiderate. "Rangers" were no help.

Beutiful place to be. Weather was great during March, both warm and cool. Last time I was here was in Nov. Alot colder but not to bad. Really quiet and relaxing during that time, less of a crowd. This time was completely full and more active. Lot of hiking and family gathering. One issue I had was the rock climbers got there around 430am. Although they are quiet for the most part, there were a couple who weren't. But some ear plugs would solved that. Other than that, it's a 6hrs drive for me and I'm already making plans to come back. 👍👍😃
