On the Grid : Indian Creek Farm

"Hands down, the best and most scenic u-pick farm in the area. High above Cayuga's waters, Indian Creek Farm offers seasonal apples, peaches, berries and vegetables to pick yourself or purchase from the stand. Even better, the Farm has wonderful spots to hang out and eat - so bring some cheese and bread to go with your fruit and plan on making an outing of it. There is al fresco dining for a large group in the old orchard and a ring of uprooted stumps for climbing. Be sure to grab a brochure at the farm stand - the back cover tells you which of the many farm dogs is friendly and which one will steal your lunch." - St. John Design Group

What a great u-pick experience. Even on a busy, beautiful fall day there was plenty of wandering space for everyone. Hands down, try the cider donuts and apple cider. Both are delicious!

Google
Indian creek farm is a must see when I’m in Ithaca, NY. Their fruit stand has a little bit of everything, from honey to pottery, to all their delicious produce and sweet treats. The u-pick system is fairly priced and their map system makes it so easy to navigate through the farm. The flower u-pick is especially my favorite. I always come home with a beautiful bundle. I want to shout out their amazing customer service as well. I left a personal item and they went above and beyond to find me on fb, and tell me, and even ship it to me! Words cannot describe how much I love Indian creek farm!

I absolutely love this farm! Every summer and fall my kids and I go here to pick our own fruit and vegetables. Love creating memories with my daughters.. 10/10 I highly recommend this farm.

Very nice farm with a wide variety of items to pick. There are also hay rides for the kiddies. A great way to spend a beautiful day outdoors.

Adding some more reviews for this year! Loved this farm on my road trip a few months ago and never got to writing a review. The donuts were so yummy! Super friendly staff and it's really fun picking out your own fruits! Check it out if you're in the area and looking for something to do, they have peaches, apple, pears, grapes when I went! Pay for what you pick and check what's in season before you go!

Google
This place is amazing! You can pick flowers, herbs, fruits and vegetables all in one place!! The place is nicely laid out and all beautifully planted and well thought out! They also sell cider donuts! It was delicious. This is around the corner from the Museum Of the Earth and you can easily do both. Definitely recommend this place!!

Yelp
Our family goes apple picking every fall, so I thought I knew it all when it comes to orchards, but this place put our Virginia apple orchards to shame. It was SO BIG, with you-pick options for dwarf apples (perfect for the kids to reach), red and yellow raspberries, vegetables (even brussels sprouts), all sorts of tomatoes (including cherry tomatoes, my favorite), and many other fruit that I'm sure I've forgotten. On top of that, the produce stand in the front was full of options, including produce of course, but also pumpkins, warm apple cider and still-warm apple cider donuts! Now I'm feeling bummed that I live so far from an awesome PYO orchard like this!

Yelp
Indian Creek Farm might just be the most charming slice of countryside I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. I went there with a few friends from my club, and from the moment we arrived, we were met with the friendliest of welcomes. The folks there greeted us with open arms, answering all our questions with the patience of saints and even dishing out pro tips. Apparently, there was a bit of an apple apocalypse, and the trees were looking rather sparse. But hey, who needs to pick apples when you can buy pre-picked ones and still feel accomplished? Despite the apple shortage, our visit was nothing short of delightful. The farm stand was a treasure trove of fruits, veggies, and homemade goodies. I sampled their apple cider, which was so delicious it made me question all my life choices up to that point. And the apple donuts? Pure culinary poetry. Each bite was a symphony of flavors that left us in a state of apple-induced bliss. Indian Creek Farm combines rustic charm with top-notch produce and the friendliest staff you'll ever meet. Even with our apple-picking hiccup, the experience was a hilarious and heartwarming adventure. It's a place where you come for the apples and stay for the memories - and maybe a few extra apple donuts. Now I'm craving donuts...

Yelp
Great place to bring the family. We picked peaches that were perfectly ripe. Our whole family had a great time. The staff is also very nice.

Yelp
One if the best U-picks and farm stand in the area. Great prices at $2.50 per pound for fruits and vegetables and $1.75 per pound if you go over 15 pounds. You get to drive up into the orchards and pick your own. Friendly staff along the way directing you were to go and offering suggestions on needy places to pick. Ladders and shards available if needed.

Yelp
Wonderful U-pick farm. Delicious donuts, friendly staff, pastoral views. Early Fall we picked pumpkins, a variety of apples, sunflowers, and Brussels sprouts!

Yelp
I came here in October with hopes of doing some fall "pick your own" apple picking- this is a lovely and quaint farm which has more "pick your own" opportunities than just apples. When you first drive up to the farm there is a "welcome center" which sells a variety of the farm's vegetables, when we came here in October they offered apples, a variety of squashes, brussel sprouts, green peppers, onions, garlic, and potatoes. I would definitely recommend trying out their donuts and apple cider- super yummy and perfect to warm you up on a cool fall day. You can pick up a bag up to fill up with fruits/ veggies and then head out to the orchards to begin your adventure. Definitely ask one of the employees to provide you with a map of the farm and indicate where everything is. Overall I had a very pleasant experience here, we picked one bag of apples and then bought a variety of other veggies (potatoes, peppers etc) and it all came out to $20! Two apple ciders and a small bag of donuts cost us $5. I'd definitely recommend bringing boots or shoes that you don't mind getting muddy since the orchards will be muddy, especially if it's rained recently.

Lawrence C.

Yelp
Great place to get wholesome apple goodness. $1.75 per pound, but you pay for the experience and to get all muddy:D. Tomato, eggplant and peppers were ready as well. Delicious homemade donuts, honey, and pleasant cashiers await you after your "hard work" picking your produce. I should have taken a picture of the sign. "Please do not pick and then throw to the ground. Bad.". This was fun!

Yelp
This roadside gem was the perfect find on a September afternoon. We only wanted to find a place for cider and cider donuts on the go and after a relatively short wait, we got the goods. The pint of mini donuts was made fresh and delicious! The cider itself hit the spot after a morning hike in the area and there were also cider slushees available. People on site were also wearing masks and respectful of COVID guidelines. I'd love to return!

Yelp
This is a large, down to earth farm. They have a farmer and, they also have pick your own. They provide a map of the farm so you know where to find everything, and you can drive your car in if you don't want to do so much walking. This farm does not charge an admission price, which is a huge plus when you have a large group that is traveling and really can't buy massive amounts of fruits and veggies. First - you must have some of the freshly deep fried cider donut bites. They are absolutely delicious. I wanted to get more when we returned from picking, but they had closed up. Second - we were just lucky but we arrived in time for the flat peaches. Not sure if that's the correct name. They also have regular round peaches. The peaches were so sweet. While we didn't intend to buy much since we were tourists in the area, but we just couldn't resist. The prices were incredibly reasonable too, just $1.25 a lb. On top, the service was so friendly and welcoming. When I called and said I had a large group and probably didn't plan to buy much, she nonetheless encouraged us to come and enjoy the property. Thank you, Indian Creek, for a fun and sweet time at your farm!

Yelp
Really great place to add to your itinerary. Farm has a variety of fruits to pick from for different seasons. We picked donut peaches and some yellow peaches. So sweet! Prices are very reasonable. Also try the cider donuts, yum! The people at the farm are so friendly. Definitely worth the stop.

Yelp
I've come to this place a couple of times this year and it is a great place to get fresh produce. Depending on what's on season they offer a great variety of fruits (berries, peaches, apples, pears...) and veggies (tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, pumpkins ...). Its a fun stop for a weekend when they (typically) have fresh donuts and apple juice for sale too.

Yelp
This is a very pleasant garden and u-pick place. Lots of variety of items to pick and very well maintained gardens and grounds. Great fun for families with you kids :)

Yelp
Pig n Apple Fest.....meh! We showed up about half way through the event. No caramel apples left, the most plentiful "pig" option was boiled hot dogs. The chutney was delish but the weiner skin was horrid. Ridiculously long line for a dozen mini donuts, but they were still available. In general underwhelmed.
google avatar

Vrinda D.

Yelp
Had the mini cider donuts and they were the best!! So soft and tender and crispy on the outside. It had the perfect level of sweetness. We got through the whole pint in less than 5 minutes. The market is very cute and the prices are very reasonable.

Shu T.

Yelp
I really like that this place is not too far from town and each pound is $1.99. They grow a lot of fruits and vegetables and you can pick whatever is in season at the moment. We picked peaches, apples, and peppers. I can't wait until fall when all the apples are ripe!

Tee Em D.

Yelp
Great peaches and apricots this week, plus Rena'te is wonderful! Such a beautiful place.

Andrea L.

Yelp
Drove through the fields and looked at the vegetables and also bought some hot as well as cold cider. Some yummy cider and beautiful views during sunset from their field!

Yelp
The kids and I love to go here each day. This year they had the biggest pumpkin patch I had ever seen. Indian Creek never fails!

Yelp
I absolutely adore Indian Creek Farm. I'm an Ithaca local, so this is my go to spot for apples, pumpkins, berries, cider, and veggies. They are great! I love that they have such a clear map handout for their apple varieties. I also love talking with the staff about apples and cider. They really know their stuff and are happy to help. Don't even get me started about their creative, hilarious, and inviting newsletter. It is the only commercial newsletter than I look forward to opening each and every time I get one. So much love for Indian Creek!

A P.

Yelp
One of the best and most magical pick-your-own experiences. Delicious ripe sweet raspberries on a summer day. Very good prices, we will definitely be back!!! They also have a little farm stand with very inexpensive just-picked produce. We bought some long purple eggplants and cucumbers.
google avatar

Jo Z.

Yelp
Jen and Steve Cummins, the owners of the Farm are super nice. We live less than a mile from there and we have picked their fabulous fruit several times. The prices are really good too. I recommend this place, it has so many tasty treats!

Yelp
Closest & Best "you pick" farm. We picked fresh pumpkins, eggplant, bell peppers, hot peppers, tomatoes, apples & raspberries.

Yelp
Top 5 Reasons Indian Creek Farm is our favorite on Earth: 1)The farm produce itself----fresh and lovely, just how you like it! 2)The location---if you have ever gazed out from the top of that farm, you know you've reached paradise. 3)The unique character----tree trunk seats, homemade swing sets, apple sling shots, and lollipop trees----like something out of a fairy tale. 2)Those sweet and serious dogs---no worries, they've got it under control. 1) The people at the stand----funny, welcoming, and deeply in love with what they do---why buy from anyone else?

Yelp
The best u-pick in the Finger Lakes! It's like an adventure every time - fantastic brochures, maps, and signs to help find your way around, plus a surprise at every corner. There's a hidden soccer field, a giant table handmade from stumps and wood that was on the property. It's the "orchard-playground" in Ithaca. Oh, and there are some pretty cute doggies wandering around to say hello to as well.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here today for some late season apple picking (and also for apple cider and mini cider donuts). The orchard is beautiful and there are so many different types of apples to choose from! The dwarf orchard was all picked out so we went to the mutsu orchard and vintage orchard. The apples are big and delicious! I had never heard of mutsu or spy apples and both were crunchy and delicious. And the red delicious apples are NOTHING like the ones you can get at the store. The orchard is big (and the signage isn't great) so follow the main road and park near the playground and mutsu orchard - it's a pretty central area for your picking needs. When you finish picking, you bring your goodies down to the stand and they weigh them out for you. Apples are $1.50 a pound. Stalks of brussels sprouts are $4 if you pick them yourself or $6 at the stand. They also have DELICIOUS apple cider and apple cider donuts at the stand on Saturday and Sunday from 11-1 for $2 a cup and $5 a dozen.

Cheri F.

Yelp
In a word: MUTSU! If you haven't eaten one, baked with one, canned one, or even picked one--don't Google it, just head to the farm in October. The Mutsus are ripe (and often on sale). It doesn't get a whole lot better than that.

Yelp
Indian Creek Farm is an Ithaca Treasure! We have three little kids and this is one of our favorite places to take them for fresh air and a 'do it yourself' experience of picking fruits and vegetables. The last few years we have gone for raspberries, peaches, apples, and vegetables. You can drive right up to the rows of picking plants which is very helpful with little kids. We make fresh pies when we get home and they're wonderful every time!
google avatar

Teddy E.

Yelp
Indian Creek probably has the best selection of u-pick fruits and veggies and has the advantage of being pretty close to town. However, the prices are just not competitive with other u-pick farms in the area.

James U.

Yelp
Overpriced and RUDE! -- charging $1.50 lb. for picking when you can get them for less at the local grocery stores. When we said this to the clerk, she said (rudely), okay, go to the grocery store and get them! Won't ever go back --

Sam T.

Yelp
Fun way to spend an afternoon. They have tons of different types of apples that all taste differently. They also have u-pick raspberries, pumpkins, brussel sprouts, and more in season I'm sure. They have a great kids play area with swings, fire pit, climbing structure, and three slingshots for launching old apples and little pumpkins - tons of fun.

Martha L.

Yelp
Indian Creek Farm has become my fruit picking playground. The fresh apples have intense flavors you just do not get with supermarket apples. The freshly made cider is yummy. I feel blessed to have delicious fruit and cider available locally. I buy from them as long into the season as I can. The sense of fun at the farm is pervasive. Indian Creek Farm enriches our community.

Tammy M.

Yelp
We've driven about an hour just to go to Indian creek farms on several occasions. The staff is super friendly and the produce AMAZING! The atmosphere is fun. We will be back again. We come several times a year. =)

Caroline J.

Yelp
Not just 1, but 2 signs on the highway westbound state "U-Pick" on the bottom and Honey Crisp on the top. After making a special 10 mile trip to pick I was told the Honey Crisp apples were for retail sale only. Person manning the stand seemed pretty indifferent to the problem. Giving it two stars because the produce looked good.
