Very good initiative to bride our younger generation with our origin and educate our heritage in an excellent manner. They exhibit rare artifacts and take us to different timeline. Also we can feel the early settlements and historical facts in a lively manner.

Level 4 is a must visit!! It not only tells you origins of hinduism, it also narrates how it spreads towards se asia, like cambodia, thailand and indonesia. There you find some taowesuwan looking figurine, which is actually influences of indian heritage. There are some little traces of islamic showcase, which i was hoping to see more. Level 4 alone occupied almost an hour of my time because i was so intrigued by everything, from the idol figurines to pottery and jewellery and their influences on Se asia. I am still very surprised with such a museum in Singapore, and you basically can explore all floors. Some days there are special guided tours and it somehow is not very crowded yet enriching. It is a must stop for all tourist to visit, and locals too should embark on this interesting tour of discovery!

We braved the hot weather and went on a Sunday. Yea. Forgot it was not the best day to go. But didn't regret. There were free vadai and masala tea upon arrival. Some booths for activities and the rest of the museum were on 3rd and 4th floor. At the end of the tour, free packet drinks were given out. Overall, nice tour. We took about an hour. As a Singaporean, we felt we should go take a look and we loved it.

Beautifully curated museum with detailed stories of the Indian diaspora who came from different corners of the globe to Singapore in the early years, bringing with them their rich customs, culture, architecture and cuisines.

This is a dynamic cultural center with something for folks of all ages. There are interactive exhibits for kids as well as detailed information Supporting these kinds of centers is important for people of Indian heritage and others alike. It helps to see the strength and diversity of various cultural communities.

An excellent place to visit and free for locals! Lots of history and interactive bits to learn about pre colonial Singaporean Indian immigrants

Not bad an experience. There is free guided tour and the person is so knowledgeable to tell so much. Entry is free for Singaporeans and PRs. Feel free to walk around. Peaceful and not crowded at all, on a weekend.

Yelp
Providing a different perspective then the rest of my trip, this museum, located in the heart of Little India, didn't quite deliver what I had hoped. Admission wasn't out of line, but I felt the exhibits themselves were a bit run down and could use a little TLC. I'd block about an hour and only visit if you're already in the area.

Yelp
Came inside to refresh myself and to enjoy the Aircon for a while. The place seems ok but nothing piqued my interest...

Yelp
This cultural centre is hard to miss as it's large, in charge, and unlike any of the surrounding buildings and shophouses! I visited during the afternoon, but it seems like you should stop by during the evening as I've seen photos of it lit up with all these vibrant colours. The museum stays true to its name by focusing on the general history of India, and Indians settling in Singapore. All of the ancient artifacts were from India and surrounding countries; I even saw a few artifacts from Cambodia. I really enjoyed the interactive displays, specifically the one with all the hats! They encouraged you to take selfies and tag @ihcsg on Instagram. :) They also had other photo opportunities and activities, like writing postcards. I liked the 3rd floor permanent gallery more, as they focused on prominent Indian Singaporeans. They had some good quotes and interesting relics from the past 50 years. Don't forget to stop by their small museum shop on the ground floor. Lots of colourful souvenirs, and locally published storybooks for the kids!

Yelp
This was a very interesting stop. It had the best, most creative introductory video I've ever seen in a museum. The displays are well done and the explanations are good and the area around it is interesting.. If you're in Singapore, do it.
