This cultural centre is hard to miss as it's large, in charge, and unlike any of the surrounding buildings and shophouses! I visited during the afternoon, but it seems like you should stop by during the evening as I've seen photos of it lit up with all these vibrant colours.
The museum stays true to its name by focusing on the general history of India, and Indians settling in Singapore. All of the ancient artifacts were from India and surrounding countries; I even saw a few artifacts from Cambodia.
I really enjoyed the interactive displays, specifically the one with all the hats! They encouraged you to take selfies and tag @ihcsg on Instagram. :) They also had other photo opportunities and activities, like writing postcards.
I liked the 3rd floor permanent gallery more, as they focused on prominent Indian Singaporeans. They had some good quotes and interesting relics from the past 50 years.
Don't forget to stop by their small museum shop on the ground floor. Lots of colourful souvenirs, and locally published storybooks for the kids!
