Indian Jewel in Prague was an amazing surprise. We had no reservation, yet despite being quite busy, they welcomed us and found us a table. The service was excellent—attentive and friendly—and the food was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was lively and warm, making the whole experience even better. A fantastic spot for authentic Indian cuisine in the heart of Prague! Highly recommended.

Went there last night for dinner & I must say I was impressed with the food & ambience. One of the best places to have Indian food in Prague. Must visit if you’re craving some spicy Indian food in Europe.

Google
Authentic Indian restaurant, with the flavors of India. Very rich menu with unique flavors. Spicy at a good level and not extreme. Warm and inviting service, with a family atmosphere. Very precise explanation of the dishes by the waiters and constant attention.

So, I’ve been hearing about Indian Jewel from my friend for years, as she wouldn't stop talking about it!!!! So when I finally made it to Prague, it was at the very top of my must visit list. And honestly? It exceeded even my highest expectations! From the moment I walked in, I was blown away by how cozy and beautiful the space is. I was wandering around, soaking in the details of the interior, colors and all the pictures on the walls. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff were ABSOLUTELY lovely, so friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind, I was treated like a special guest! You can really feel the love and care that the founder has poured into both the team and the experience. And then… the food. WOW!!! It’s fun, cause as soon as I stepped in, a waiter passed by with a tray full of dishes, and the scent of spices hit me and I couldn't wait to eat. We ordered Lamb Pasanda, which was unbelievably creamy and tender (melt-in-your-mouth kind of tender), and Chicken Tikka Masala that had the perfect kick of spice and just the right amount of veggies, just mmmm (we even couldn’t resist and ordered a portion to go). Both were served with perfectly cooked white rice and buttery garlic bread. We also had a cold beer and their delicious mango yoghurt. It may not sound like much, but it was so rich and satisfying that I wish I had more room to try other dishes! Everything - the flavors, the textures, the presentation, the vibe came together for such a memorable meal. Now I finally get why my friend raved about this place for so long… and I’m officially joining the fan club! I’ll be recommending Indian Jewel to everyone I know. Please, just go. You won’t regret it. Can’t wait to come back and thank you for such memorable experience💛

Google
My girlfriend and I went for dinner at Indian Jewel and we had one of the best restaurant experiences we've ever had. The service was second to none, very kind and attentive. We had onion Bhaji and Papadam starters, both were great and came with a selection of delicious sauces. For mains we shared a butter chicken and mango chicken with a side of garlic basmati and peshwari naan, both were heavenly and the portions were just the right amount. I would highly recommend Indian Jewel and if I return to Prague again I will absolutely return to sample more of the menu.

Google
Stopped by for a quick Butter Chicken when I couldn’t decide what to eat during my last day in the city… And it was top! Super nice and welcoming guys in there (hold tight big man Suresh), the decor gives an authentic feel, and the Butter Chicken was top 😎 I definitely recommend the Indian Jewel.

Google
The name truly reflects the essence of this place – a real gem in the heart of Prague. The food is simply outstanding, and the entire staff is exceptionally kind and attentive. They provide great recommendations and ensure every detail is taken care of. We started with two appetizers, followed by Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Prawns – every dish was absolutely delicious! A must-visit for anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience in Prague.

Yelp
What a delightful place! Great food and service. Nice ambiance. Such friendly staff. We had lamb Rogan Josh, Butter Chicken, Lamb Samosas, and Papadam. Everything was flavored as it should be and served proportionately. Would definitely return and recommend. ONE IMPORTANT NOTE: Even though Yelp lists the address correctly, DO NOT FOLLOW YELP's DIRECTIONS, AS IT TAKES YOU TO THE PREVIOUS LOCATION SEVERAL BLOCKS AWAY. Cut and paste the address listed into Google Maps and that should take you to the correct location.

Yelp
I have eaten a lot of Indian cuisine and this is hands down the best. I am so sad they aren't located in my hometown! The restaurant is clean, decorated so nicely and the wait staff very friendly and attentive. The menu has lots of options. The food is unbelievable good. There is something for everyone's spice ability. Indian Jewel will remove on my fav list and we will be back one day. One of the best meals we had in Prague!

Yelp
Amazing Indian food! We were in Prague for 4 days traveling from US and after eating all the local food I was craving Indian food . Found this place and I am glad I was able to taste their food . Reminds me of Indian food back in India . We also had chai - very authentic. Loved every bite of it . Great food and great service. Lovely Ambiance.

Yelp
Good Indian food option near old town Prague. Only Lamb is halal here confirmed by the waiter. Liked the food

Yelp
The food, the wine, the AIR CONDITIONING & the staff were terrific!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND this plane. We eat Indian cuisine on a regular basis and this is one of the very best!

Yelp
A beautiful hidden gem! Chris welcomed us in after a long day of exploring the city, and we had a delicious dinner.

Yelp
Fantastic food. Chicken sag and chicken tiki masala were excellent. Garlic naan was great. Can't praise them enough.

I lovely Indian restaurant with authentic ambience and very helpful attentive service. The food Was very tasty with the Lamb Jalerazi, Garlic Naan, and Chicken Tikka standing out.

Yelp
Just updating my review as it focused on awesome terrace and location, but it has moved about 5 mint away to a different location, I didn't see a terrace, maybe there is something out back. Didn't eat at new location.

Therese W.

Yelp
As hungry tourists we joined an Indian couple in our group to eat here. Ordered chicken curry, rice, and chicken tikka masala. Chicken curry was fresh and good but chicken masala was super dry as it was days or weeks old. Because of the dry chicken it took me a long time to try to chew on it. I'd have told them to take that dish back but didn't want to cause a scene so I tried to eat it. Only hafl hour since the meal was served on the table, the waiter came and ask if I finish. I was still chewing and said no, I'm still eating. He smiled and stood there waited for a minute then pick up all the plates that I was still eating. HOW RUDE! Never seen that in my life, and the restaurant was empty at the time. Maybe they should issue a warning that said you should finish your meal within 30. minutes.

Yelp
Some of the best Indian Food I have had.. ever! I found this place as it was near the place I was staying in Prague - I just happened past it, and I'm glad I stopped in! I was quickly greeted and sat.. I ordered a Water, Garlic Naan & the Chicken Madras with Rice. The Naan was nothing to write home about. The dish however, was delicious and just the perfect amount of spice. I would definitely go back!

Yelp
Mango chicken was amazing and all the food we had was fabulous!! The lunch specials were soooo good!!!

James T.

Yelp
We've taken three visits to Prague; stopped in here to escape the rain during our first visit and have made it a point to come back every time since. The food is truly delicious, comparable in quality to Dishoom in London, if you're familiar. The service and ambiance are also excellent, perfect for casual Indian dining. It's a welcome changeup if you're tired of the meat/potato/dumplings fare of traditional Czech restaurants.

Yelp
Best Indian food in Prague for sure! Was recommended to go to Indian Jewel and it did not disappoint! Very good food and very nice service.

Karen S.

Yelp
The food here is the best Indian food I've ever had hands down. The servers are kind, fun and they will take good care of you! We had the shrimp vindaloo, shrimp madras, basmati rice and peshwari naan which is SO good! Washed it down with ice cold beer. You'll love it!
google avatar

Ashish J.

Yelp
Best Indian food in Prague - period. Try their assorted veggie pakora platter. All fresh and nothing refried. Another recommendation - try their paneer tikka masala. Finger licking good! Breads (garlic naan) done to perfection and the tandoori roti - were well actually tandoori rotis! Gulab Jamun as a desert was subpar. Don't make the same mistake, don't leave room for desert!
google avatar

Yelp
We discovered this place back in November 2019 and loved it so much we ate there twice during our visit to Prague. When in town again in February 2021 we were disappointed to find it had closed. Then yesterday we discovered that they have reopened in a new bigger location! The food is great and the service is friendly. We eat here every time we're in Prague.
google avatar

Yelp
We love Indian cuisine. This restaurant ranks up with the tastiest we've had. I'd rank the spice hot level at 3-5 so if you like it hot let them know. Friendly and fast. The only problem is yelp has not updated their location so use the address in their card I've attached You won't be disappointed
google avatar

Prabhakar M.

Yelp
We are Indians visiting Prague and we needed a break from Czech food, so we tried Indian Jewel for a dinner. We were pleasantly surprised with the taste of every dish we ordered. I highly recommend Indian Jewel for anyone who wants to try a non-Czech cuisine (or "naan based cuisine", pun intended) in Prague. I recommend Chicken Hariyali (starter) and Lamb Rogan Josh.
google avatar

Regina M.

Yelp
The best Indian food ever. Consistently. The address is now - Rybná 9 (Yelp has it wrong).

Andrew P.

Yelp
The food was phenomenal and took us back to traveling in India. The staff was friendly and spoke English. I would recommend eating family style and maybe not ordering a dish per person as we couldn't eat everything after ordering rice and naan bread. Consider supporting this establishment as they had to relocate due to COVID shutdowns. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
We had a wonderful dinner here on our last night in Prague and both the food and service were impeccable! Our waiter was Dipu and he took great care of us. One of our party wanted a dish not on the menu and he willingly had it made for her. Decor and ambience were spot on. Will eat here again when next in Prague.

Tia C.

Yelp
Came in with a large party. Constantly accommodating us and making sure we had everything we would like. Great food, great service. As an Indian, I would come back.

Edin H.

Yelp
Well, I've been at many Indian restaurants, in the US, Italy, and throughout out the world. But, I must say this one stands out truly!! It distinguishes itself with its tasty and warm, fresh meals, served pleasently, and very professionally. Highly recommending to anyone in Prague looking for true and delicious Indian food, and not just Indian food, but for anyone in search of tasty, and well prepared meals!!

Millie N.

Yelp
Delicious food! Great service and beautiful restaurant! Family style everything amazing

Yelp
Amazing restaurant, vey nice people and delicious food. Don't miss out on the desserts, the rice pudding and the mango ice cream were great.
google avatar

Laleh J.

Yelp
Europe is great, but the food in my opinion just doesn't match a delicious curry. Parents and I came here on our last night in our Prague trip, and after days of Czech food, we were ravenous for a good curry and tandoori. I think the waiter was entertained by how much we ordered, but everything was so delicious. Nice interior and highly recommended.

Edward G.

Yelp
Rare to find such kindly, friendly, caring and professional customer service - and the food is excellent as well. A nice menu selection. I was looking for s change from European food, Indian jewel hit the spot. High marks. NOTE: my iPhone and the yelp app brought me first to an old location! Call and be sure you have the right address.

Yelp
Excellent service and food was authentic. It was a great place to have real home cooked food. The chicken is halal and u must get the Somosa probably the best I have ever had !!!! Food is plenty to share and we are big eaters

Melissa H.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem (no pun intended). Rick Steves suggested this place in his book and he did not disappoint. Staff was lovely, ambiance was lovely, truly a wonderful place. It's on a quiet side street, so it's quite enjoyable to sit outside.

Anna R.

Yelp
Perfect Indian place with the best Indian food I've had in a while. Very nice dishes and presentation with even better food!
google avatar

Malvika T.

Yelp
Excellent food located near Old Town. Rajma masala here was very tasty! Was a little overpriced but for location I understand. It was refreshing to eat some nice indian food after a few days of other cuisines. Service was quick and nice.

Yelp
Wow - what a gem (pun intended)! My family and I visited Prague after a week in Austria, and we were ready for a departure from bratwurst and sauerkraut. After a Yelp search, I decided on Indian Jewel, simply from the amount of reviews relative to the other Indian restaurants in the area. We walked in, without a reservation, at 8pm on a Sunday. The restaurant was full of locals and international visitors. The service was amazing. We never felt neglected and our server gave the most genuine and honest advice about the serving sizes and his favorites. The food was delicious - exactly what we were hoping for. The main dish plates were even warned before our food was brought out! You MUST get the naan - one piece is bigger than your head! Definitely recommend and would return on a next trip to Prague.

Yelp
Amazing Indian food in Prague.. and I come from the Bay Area. I wish I could take this little gem home with me

Samy P.

Yelp
Excellent location, decor, service, and good food. We had a chicken rogan josh, paneer tikka masala, naan, and chicken biriyani. They were delicious and flavorful. Will recommend this to anyone.
google avatar

Nav R.

Yelp
Great food, average service. You pay extra for everything and they aren't very accommodating. Lots of options and outside seating area is nice. Paneer and eggplant were solid entrees.
google avatar

Rochelle M.

Yelp
We had a great meal here! If you're after curry as you know it in the UK, then you're in luck! The naan breads were soft & pillowy, full of flavour. The usual suspects were on the menu, jalfrezi, madras, pakoras, popadums ... A serious gem of a place if you want a break from Czech cuisine. The staff were friendly & the food was hot & well presented. Dining is inside or outside watching the pedestrians.
google avatar

Monish S.

Yelp
Very good food and friendly service. So good to get quality Indian food in an unexpected place. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Easily my favorite restaurant in Prague! I was in the city for four days with my mother and we made two trips to Indian Jewel. Since we're both vegetarians, most of the local food in Prague was not for us and there's only so much bread and soup one can eat. We were really happy to come across Indian Jewel which is located in the heart of the city. We thoroughly enjoyed their North Indian, Punjabi fare. The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming and even customized a few dishes for us since we were familiar with the cuisine. (Extra spicy, onion and chili salad in the side!) I loved the tarka dal, warm breads, vegetables and saag paneer. We also the masala chai which was a warm treat after a day of sightseeing. There is a lot of variety on the menu, both veg and non veg options to make everyone happy. Classy and elegant ambience and decor to give you a feel of South Asia and India. I would go back again if I'm ever in Prague again. Highly recommend this place if you're a vegetarian or craving Indian food when in beautiful city of Praha (Prague)

Yelp
We loved this place. In the US, we are used to Indian food, any ethnic food, that has had its flavor muted for the bland US Market's taste. The spices, OMG, our mouths couldn't believe how good the food tasted. They have a nice place inside, but we chose to sit outside and eat. The weather was nice, the service was the great service you get when the owner helps you themselves, and the food was excellent. I wish it wasn't so far from home, I would eat there right now. What a great memory from our vacation.
google avatar

Abeer M.

Yelp
Not the best indian food i had. But the main reason for the one star rating is the service. They close at 11, we arrived 9:15 and were seated immediately. During the course of the meal they were rushing to remove the plates. By 10:15 we were done but not ready to leave but the server asked to bring the bill, and told him we are not ready to leave he said we are closing (45min before closing time)??? Felt rushed to leave which was not a good feeling.
google avatar

Jay H.

Yelp
Great food. I ordered the Lamb Rogan Josh and my wife ordered chicken tikka masala. Plain naan and garlic naan. The food was flavorful with just the right amount of spice. Good, outdoor seating atmosphere.

Yelp
Following an urge for a decent Indian meal, myself and my friend checked out what was in the area. Indian jewel popped up on the yelp radar, so there we headed. Upon entering and walking down the stairs we were greeted by a smiling waiter with the ear to ear grin of a Cheshire cat. "No problem, this way", came the reply after our request for a table for two. Due to the scarcity of windows we were able to almost choose our table whereupon we opted for one at the rear of the establishment. A new, equally attentive waiter took our drinks orders and dispensed two menus with us. Standard kind of Indian fayre greeted us from the pages of a decent menu and we opted to share a Lamb Rogan along with a Chicken Jalfrezi. Almost instantly, fresh warm poppadoms along with appropriate dips were dropped off, and before we had too long to chat, the main dishes were served piping hot with delicious naans and one of the prettiest raita I have seen. The food was just right, exactly what we were craving. The chicken tender and moist; the lamb lean and both in sauces that were perfectly spiced. Price was totally decent and whilst the decor was not echoing the interior of some fancier Indian restaurants, the service and food were nothing short of excellent. Definitely worth a visit! A jewel it certainly is.

Yelp
We had lunch here on the last day of our week-long trip. We eat Indian food frequently, and withdrawal symptoms were starting to kick in. This restaurant was mentioned in Rick Steves and had good ratings on Yelp, plus it is conveniently located a few steps from the Old Town square. The meal turned out to be the best Indian we've had in Europe. The garlic naan was freshly made on the tandoor, and it arrived steaming hot. It was as good as our favorite place back home. My husband got aloo bombay. The waiter alerted him that it was a creamy dish, and he probably should have heeded that warning because he didn't like it as much as aloo gobi. His lamb samosas were delicious, and he said they had the perfect amount of filling. I really liked my paneer tikka masala. The sauce had more tomato chunks than what I'm used to, and I enjoyed the texture. We left warm, full and happy with the hospitable service.

Manish P.

Yelp
Spend entire day in Praha, and this really is Jewel. Had an excellent dinner here with my colleagues. Service needs bit improvement.
google avatar

Rajiv P.

Yelp
Not bad for Indian food. The god curry fish was over cooked, but base curry was good. The chole was fine and paired well with naan. Would suggest that they made a fish tikka and pair with the chicken tikka masala sauce.

Yelp
Visiting from San Francisco and stumbled upon this gem of an Indian restaurant. Everything was portioned perfectly and delicious. My favorite was the Chicken Korma. It was perfect. Thank you for the wonderful food.

Yelp
This restaurant is recommended in Rick Steves' Prague guide book. It is really good and reasonably priced. The courtyard is a great relaxing atmosphere for dinner.
