On the Grid : Indian Ocean Brewery

"The Indi’s location is pretty special, sitting right on the picturesque Mindarie Marina, surrounded by boats and sparkling blue ocean. This is an artisan craft brewery with all brewing and experimentation done on the premises. Maybe try a tasting paddle before settling for a pint of your favourite brew, ours currently being the Kolsch and the Vietnamese-inspired Street Beer, both perfect for 40 degree days when an IPA or Pale Ale don’t seem to quench the thirst. The food is worth trying too, especially the pizzas. If you’re ever near the marina then this place is worth checking out, to sample the beers and to gaze out onto the beautiful Indian Ocean." - Zebra

We had a fantastic time at this brewery! Not only did we enjoy the great beer and cider, but the pizza was a highlight - their prosciutto and rocket pizza was one of the best we've had in ages. The surprise was delightful! The location was stunning, with breathtaking views of the marina and surrounding mansions. It felt dreamy and surreal. We'll definitely be back soon!

We enjoyed a fantastic afternoon at Indian Ocean Brewing Company! The carbonara pizza, Hawaiian pizza, and steak sandwich were all delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making our visit even more enjoyable. We loved dining outside with the stunning views of the marina. The QR code ordering system was seamless and easy to use. One suggestion would be to add a comments section in the online ordering system to allow for special requests, like modifying ingredients. Parking was convenient, free, and hassle-free. Highly recommended!

My favourite dog friendly summer spot. I’ve had various things from the menu and always is a lovely meal, steak, chicken, burgers, steak sandwich, barramundi, Ceaser salad, all lovely & their own two lagers are also spot on if you like a smooth crisp pint🍻 Sometimes service is a bit slow waiting for food but not always. Great sunset spot.

Indian Ocean Brewery – A Top Spot in Mindarie Basically, my local watering hole—and what a spot it is. Best to walk there, of course, which makes the trip home a lot easier after a few, but the time difference will be staggering. What makes Indian Ocean Brewery stand out is the friendly staff, great atmosphere, and unbeatable location. There’s nothing quite like sitting back with a cold one, watching the comings and goings in Mindarie Marina. Whether it’s a quiet afternoon or a lively evening, the vibe is always spot on. The brews are top quality and reasonably priced—not something you can say about every waterfront venue. My go-to is the Export, a solid choice every time. And then there’s the food—for a pub, it’s outstanding. Quick service, polite staff, and a menu that delivers exactly what you’d hope for. Whether it’s a burger, pizza, or a bit of barramundi, you won’t go wrong. We’ll be back—again and again. 🍻🌊

Spent New Years Day, having a delightful lunch and pleasant day. Service was quick helpful, and our furry friend were more than welcome. There also was no public holiday surcharge. Beers were cold and refreshing while taking in the view 😃 🍺

Service was good, but at 6pm the music was way too loud to hold any reasonable conversation. Inside and outside front all affected. Staff (3 times asked) wouldn't adjust volume so ended sitting out the back. $7 chips were cold and tiny, sticky pork belly was dry and tasteless. The rest was average, the beers good.

Yelp
Been here a couple of times just because it's always lovely to visit the marina and see the views, however have always been disappointed with the food and service. The food isn't great. Always feels a bit like it's been sitting there for ages - not very fresh. A bit pricey for what you pay for. The drinks/beverages and the views is what you would come for. Honestly disappointing; the brewery has such potential but have been let down every time.

Yelp
I made an account with yelp just to give a bad review, proportion sizes to price is unreasonable and 9$ to add 3 prawns that taste bad and isn't something I'd pay for. Dont come here unless your just drinking. 12$ for large chips that are the size of a side is piss poor.

Yelp
After a visit to the Marina for the beer festival we popped in for lunch and a drink before heading home, the menu is great and caters for everyone. The pizza menu caught my eye and there is so many options to choose from. The arancini are delish!

Yelp
Had a nice, slow evening here. It's a lovely spot, situated in a Marina with all the views attendant to that - I arrived in the evening so I can only imagine that the daytime views would be very nice as well. Lots of places to sit inside and out - open space seating as well as some private nooks and crannies here and there. Playing the background was the classic "On the Waterfront" on a TV screen - sound was off - but it was a nice touch I thought. The ambience inside was great - modern, classic, good lighting, nice feel, good music selection in the background. Wait staff were very friendly and informative. I tried some of their local brewery selections getting the "paddle board" with six generous samples - for $22 - not a bad price at all. Also ordered two small plates/sides - the chargrilled Chorizo and the buttered broccoli and green beans with slivered almonds and other bits and pieces. Both were very nice and complemented on another well. Tried the gelato as a closeout - also very nice. Not currently a "cocktail" bar but rumor has it that this might change - hope so. Otherwise, pretty good selection at the bar, most of the usual suspects with a few notable absences, but still quite good. Definitely a great place to go back to again!

Yelp
Located in the northern climes of Perth and boasting a oceanfront view, Indian Ocean Brewery is a microbrewery and pub with an almost perpetually sunny demeanour. From its location to its bright, fresh decor, the Indian Ocean Brewery is like a fresh breeze. For a microbrewery, it has a rather disappointing range of beers. There are four permanent beers that are always on tap [and available as a taster tray], and other beers that are seasonal. Of the four permanent beers, the Indi White is probably the best, with a bright, cleansing taste and a subtle aroma of spices. The Indi Pilsner was a little too bitter even for a pilsner, while the Indi Pale Ale was somewhat bland. The food, however, is top quality. The pizzas are generous with both size and toppings, and the burgers are a good balance of filling and bread. The prices are a little steep, but the quality of the food makes paying extra less painful. The Indian Ocean Brewery is worth a visit if you are a beer aficionado looking to sample some new beers, or for anyone in the northern reaches of Perth to enjoy good food while overlooking the ocean.

Yelp
After a long drive to the Pinacles this was the perfect place to relax and eat on the drive back to Perth. The Pizza was great, Apple Cider was cool & refreshing just what we needed. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The pizza was house made

Yelp
During the cold winter months me and my friends were searching for somewhere we could hang out and catch up, up in the northern suburbs its slim picking in general and for past 9pm you'd be lucky to find anywhere at all. However, we discovered that the Indian Ocean Brewery stayed open later and served up coffee, we went to check it out and found ourselves settled into their armchairs next to the fireplace enjoying a delicious cup of coffee. Needless to say it became our regular haunt, and much like the cast of friends we always had the couches by the fireplace. Every now and then we'd splash out for some desert and get their churros which are fantastic. As the summer months have been approaching we've been testing out their on site range of beers, my favourite would be the Indi white as it has a citrusy flavour, perfect for summertime. Their food is delicious and they serve amazing woodfired pizzas, and on Tuesdays they bring them down to $10, so make the most of it and order their amazing garlic prawn pizza. Sundays are a great day to come down for an afternoon sesh and sit outside with live music and happy atmosphere around the marina. The Indian Ocean is a great place to come to whether is for an evening coffee, tasty lunch, family dinner or to grab a beer,

Yelp
Recycled, dry food. Seriously why would you re-use your entre' foods? You can't hide it. I nearly chipped a tooth biting into your crusty, reheated meatballs which resembled something of last weeks leftovers. The decor is the pits; by which I mean the lounges smell like a sweaty arm pit and are in desperate need of a good steam clean. If a bloke can get grossed out by something like this then that's sayin' something. The prices are well over the top. This bar needs a good shake up. Pretty disappointing really because it has heaps of potential.

Yelp
The Indi is a local for me. Every now and again I want to go somewhere nearby for a steak and a beer as well as being near the water. Usually that choice leads me to the Indi or the Mullaloo Beach Hotel. The food at the Indi is pretty good pub grub. Nothing outstanding to mention really. You are getting exactly what you think you'll be getting. Where the letdown is however... The beer. It's just not that good. I mean, it's below average. I like supporting a local brewery, but they need to step up their game on the beer front. I'll likely be back for a steak... But I might go for the spirits to drink.

Yelp
I love the Indi. Set in a beautiful Mindarie Marina, and with an amazing menu and delicious beers, its just perfect! I love the tapas, the feta is out of this world! And the burgers are a hit, with home made chips and a delicious relish! The whole feel of the place is amazing and its great for winter and summer, with tables and chair outside for the summer and a fire and couches in the winter. The home brewed beers are so tasty, really easy to drink, which is a good and bad thing. The services in great too and the crowd it attracts is too. It is a perfect chilled night out.

Yelp
Celiacs beware The fish balls marked gluten free on the menu are covered in breadcrumbs! When my husband pointed this out they called the manager but only a verbal apology was offered. I could have ended up in hospital and they even made us pay the difference when we got another meal so I could eat something. A sign at the front about people taking their own responsibility for allergies cannot excuse or protect from litigation when something is advertised as gluten free and has breadcrumbs on it...

Yelp
3.5 stars I would of given 4 stars but somethings missed the mark. First of all they don't take bookings for anything less than 8ppl but they took my booking for 6 as it was pretty close to 8ppl. when it comes to ordering food and drink you can do pays as you go at your table or pay at the bar which makes the place seem a bit chaotic. For our entrées we ordered shark attack(crumbed shark with a mango salsa) nice flavors but the oil must of been old as the crumbs tastes slightly burnt, it was the same with the chicken wings nice but had the burnt taste, we also had the pumpkin accachni balls with blue cheese sauce which were nice but could do with more pumpkin. For the mains I had the pork knuckles with mash, sauerkraut topped with onion gravy, It was fantastic had the crispy pork crackle all round the top, the pork was tender combined with the mash, sauerkraut and gravy it was one of the nicest meals I've had in a while. The other mains were Asian Duck Salad which my sister fully enjoyed I tried a bit duck was a bit dry and tasted like precooked breast you get from the shops but all together a nice dish. The brother in law had the fish tortilla which was massive and I mean huge could feed 2 or more ppl. He throughly enjoyed. For dessert we had creame brulee which was also great from the caramelized top and the creaminess of the brulee. All in good food and the beers are good to

Yelp
Chilli Festival Saty 13th. Our chairs were all full of dirt & crumbs as we sat down. Our water glasses wer all stained and grubby. The food was HORRIBLE. BELOW STANDARD. I ordered spiced lamb salad and what I got was a cheap grade lamb mince mush with no flavour and a nice big black bug in it. Hubby's arrancini were disgusting. No flavour. Cooked in old oil, you could taste it, the same with the wedges. Unedible. My friends desert was a stale old piece of cake. The food is shocking, I don't know how they are in business. Overpriced for such a poor standard. Will never eat there again.
