We had the best night out recently at this fabulous venue. The bar staff were incredible and I had the best cocktail of my life. The staff really are a credit to this business, making you feel so welcome and also making sure everything is to our satisfaction. I've told so many people to visit here and we can't wait to come back again soon.

Had my ♥️ set on eating great Indian food whilst visiting Brighton… Indian Summer is simply divine. Starter tasting platter was a meal in itself … delicate, delectable flavours 😋 The Grand Thali following was equally delightful. Signature cocktail menu 💕. Go with an appetite 🙏🏼

Google
Probably my favourite Indian in Brighton. Excellent veg and vegan options plus interesting cocktail menu. The experience menu is definitely worth it to share. On the pricier side but I think you get enough food of a high enough quality to justify that.

Google
My absolute favourite restaurant to go when I’m in Brighton!! Me and my partner discovered Indian Summer back in 2023 & have been taking friends and family ever since!! The service is amazing, so friendly and welcoming. Food is great (I recommend the Thalis’) - I get the vegan one, my partner gets the meat one and they’re always incredible!!! Gives you a taste of multiple dishes :) We don’t drink anymore, but our old fave drink was the spicy coconut margaritas!!! So so good! Highly recommend Indian Summer!

We’ve visited Indian summer many times but tonight’s meal was next level exceptional. The atmosphere, the service, incredible food and I was blown away by the Spicy margaritas 👌🏼. We shared the selection of starters and for main I had the butter chicken curry which was incredible. Everything is fresh and delicious with something for everyone. I recommend all my friends and clients visit this gem of a restaurant. We will be back very soon.

Came to Indian Summer a few weeks ago after booking through the First Table website and think it's safe to say we'll definitely be back. Service was great and our waiter was friendly. We ended up going for the Indian Summer experience and for a mixture of starter and mains to share. Great portion sizes and excellent for first time customers who wouldn't be sure what to get. Highlights for us were the Tandori Chicken and Sweet Potato Pakora, and from the mains the Lamb Mewari and the Paneer Masala. Music was a little random, which I really enjoyed, and lovely decor. Looking forward to our next visit!

Google
Good food. Bhel chaat was really on point, flavourful and crunchy. Malai chicken tikka was nice but not really as it should, i.e.. with the softness of malai. I found the place genuinely better than the Dishoom Permit Room. The dessert was listed as Mango kulfi, but it was a mango ice cream. Overall, the presentation was nice, though, and they tried to experiment with the ingredients, but it wasn't kulfi. I would recommend this place.

Google
Would recommend to anyone visiting Brighton, as Brighton isn’t good for curry. If you’re not looking for pretentious, smaller meals and style, but rather just a big slap up curry, then I wouldn’t highly recommend it but it is very good. I had the Thali, so I could taste a bit of everything which was very good. Just didn’t fill me with comfort and satisfaction that I want for a curry. Plus, not directly related tonIndian Summer, but the cost of rice is getting out of hand for such a simple throw away food. Work it into your costs and just give people enough for their meal and top them up if needed. No one should be paying £4.50 for a side of rice. Ever

Yelp
Unfortunately not a great experience. The room is nice. The service was lacking. We were sat and then had to wait almost 10 minutes (restaurant was only half full) just to order our drinks. It took another 10 minutes to get the drinks (2 bottles of beer & a chili mojito). Ordered our food (1 veg, 2 meat Thalis) which then took almost an hour. When it came the food was sadly mediocre. Flavour was lacking (how that's possible with a curry I don't know), my wife who is Indian almost asked for salt (but couldn't find a server). Once we finished eating the server was nowhere to be found. Ended up going and finding a different server to pay the bill. Positives: good room, ice cold beer. Maybe an off day but with so many choices out there, we won't be back.

Yelp
Really lovely restaurant in the South Lanes. We finally went here for a birthday lunch and it did not disappoint. The waiters were friendly and attentive without being overly so. We sat at the front of the restaurant and there was live music being played on the piano. We very much enjoyed the music but the staff also asked us if we were happy with the volume and where we were sat which was much appreciated. The food was delicious, authentic Indian, not greasy, and not a korma insight. We had a few items from the street food menu and a main, the waiter explained what everything was and the various dips when they were served. They also provide extensive gluten, vegan and dairy free dishes, all of which are clearly displayed on the menu. I know they've received several restaurant awards and frequently feature in Brighton's top 10 restaurants so I'd definitely recommend booking ahead. I just wish I'd remembered to take some pictures!

Yelp
We had such a delicious dinner here. The food is top-notch and very flavorful and filling. We ordered the thali, which has an assortment of tasty dishes. The staff were very friendly. Although it is slightly pricey, 25 pounds for 2-course dinner, we had a good experience here anyway. I highly recommend!

Yelp
My second time here -- my first was last year on the night they moved to this location. Both times were fantastic! I eat out a lot and so rarely do I say "this is absolutely delicious", but I said it a few times during this meal. I like spice so thought the spicyness in practically everything was great, but others may want to beware if they do not like spicy. I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
I'm not a fan of Indian food. Restaurants in NYC reek of too much curry and I always leave smelling horribly. Add to it the fact that the food is hard to taste because of the spices. So I am NOT a fan of Indian food....but that was until I went to Brighton in October. My UK friends always tell me that 'curry' in the US is crap compared to the UK so I took his advice and let him bring me here. OMG! It was amazing! I actually tasted the food. I never thought I'd be into chickpeas until that night. I still dream about the dishes... I think what made it a bit different was that it's like an Indian fusion place. Whatever it was, it worked. My friend and I got the prix fixe dinner so we shared an app, each ordered an entree and shared dessert. That with a few glasses of wine made for an amazing meal in a really nice place.

Yelp
The lunch special at this restaurant offers excellent value. For £10, you get a choice of drink (wine, beer, water or juice) and two courses. Bhel poori was good and prettily presented, while my main course - a slow-cooked lamb dish - was served with papad and rice. Again presentation and flavour were both good (with spicing on the mild side). Service was friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Though I far prefer my ruby establishments to be kitsch I had a nice evening here. Relatively modern decor and questionable background music aside the food is the star of the show. Royal Indian Thali brought an assortment of just big enough dishes to please the palate. Nice for a change on a special occasion, but my everyday ruby will still be Ashoka in Hove.

Yelp
With so many samey curry shops and balti places dotting the British high streets to find an Indian location that doesn't fit into the mould is refreshing. Menu is relatively short but dishes were well described and delivered/cooked as promised. Decor has no velvet wall paper and the premises are longer rather than wider in a nice street just a few paces from the Brighton front. Rating reduced due to service difficulties at my visit. Greeting lady was also a server without much help so there seemed to be some confusion resulting in a disjointed service experience. With the food price points this shouldn't happen

Yelp
This place is not the average Indian restaurant, offering some adventurous and unusual dishes you won't find elsewhere. Food carries European influences - there was one venison dish on the menu - and also seems quite South Indian, with lots of vegan dishes and spicy pickles. It's not cheap - a two course set menu will set you back £20 - but definitely worth it if you're bored of the standard rogan josh etc. I had a lamb dish, the name of which escapes me, but it was beautiful - tender and tasty.

Yelp
After being given a little 'cup-a-soup' as an appetizer the tone was truly set. The appetizer was bland and whiffed of powder and kettle.... My starter of tandoori swordfish wasn't too bad, the fish spoke for itself, but my main of Barramundi fish was almost unpalatable, it was smothered in black pepper with all the skill of a 10year old chef, the rice was not too dissimilar to Bachelor's famous sachets. Add to this an expensive bottle of cheap wine and the disappointment was well rounded off, oh that and the £63 bill for two. My partner's aubergine main dish was awfully bland, no hint of the promised smoked aubergine.... her lentil dahl was bland and missing all the fragrant and aromatic joys of the real deal. This restaurant is well worth giving a miss - sorry, I felt that offended!

Yelp
This place is the perfect restaurant where you can order something from the menu when you have no idea what it is and know you will love it. I am always forced to try something different as I can never find something that sounds like anything I have eated before, but it has never disappointed. When the restaurant first opened it was in a tiny place across the road from where they are now and the first time we went we filled the whole restaurant. Within a very short space of time they had expanded which is a credit to their fatastic food as Brighton is a competative market. A bit pricey, but not poncy: def worth a visit.

Yelp
Good tasting food and great service was my general impression. The interiors were not in my taste though, as they were slick modern. I like the more colourful and/or chaotic places. Will probably go back, even though there was room for improvement when it came to the food. It was good, not great. Would wish it to be more complex.

Yelp
I've eaten in the restaurant once before and have ordered a takeaway 5 or 6 times and I can't fault this place! Amazing food, good quality and tasty. I'm really surprised at the poor reviews for this restaurant. I usually order the masala dosa and aubergine pakoras which come with red onion and lime and taste great! They are always generous with the pickles if you order the poppadoms, even though some may say it's quite pricey at £4.50. Today we got 6 pots of different pickles and sauces! I also recommend the tarka dal and methi rota. Eat in or take away here, you can't lose either way.

Yelp
We visited as a party of 6 on a Friday night and were very impressed with the pretty much everything, including reasonable prices for such good food and service. The food was superb, with lovely touches such as a very tasty pre-starter demitasse of lentil soup with a small spiced savoury pastry, plus a palate cleaner of fruit vodka between the starter and main. No Kingfisher or Cobra on the beer list (now 'brewed under license in the UK') but a very tasty imported Kenyan beer instead - impressive. The deserts were to die for (we ordered all of them and shared between us) plus a small but good selection of desert wines. The menus clearly state which meals are vegan and/or gluten free - which is great. Our ONLY criticism was the printing of the menus, which was poor and made them very hard to read in low lighting. I had to get someone to read it for me.

Yelp
Indian Summer has made it to my favourite restaurant list! The food is absolutely delicious and the service is impeccable. My partner and I came here mid-week for dinner and it was busy! He had the pork belly roast dish and I had the lamb and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I can't remember what we ordered for starters but all I remember was how tasty they were! The menu is a bit pricey but I believe it's worth it. Thankfully voucher cloud has an offer going on right now but honestly, I would pay full price here for their great quality of food. I will definitely come back!

Yelp
Indian Summer's food is beautiful, definitely more for a special occasion, as it is rather expensive. The menu is well designed, and all dishes have loads of fresh spices and flavours, nothing like you would get in your local Indian takeaway shop. If you are just popping in here for a quick meal, be prepared to pay around £20-£30 each, it is totally worth it. I would say that is more for a special occasion rather than a casual week night meal. Fine dining Indian food with excellent service, and top quality wines! Loos are really nice too :) Make sure you book.

Yelp
Had dinner here while staying over for 1 night at Brighton with a colleague and his wife who live in Brighton. The quality of the food was good, but the dishes were not authentic Indian. The portions are small and though the prices are not outrageous they are not that great either. The staff was VERY friendly though. Probably not revisiting but if you are really in the mood for Indian while at Brighton I guess you might be hard-pressed to find a better spot.

Really amazing food, good wine selection, great ambience, definitely recommended.

Yelp
This contempory Indian restaurant is great if you want to try something different. The actual restaurant is extremely stylish and the staff are very accomodating. It's the ideal place for a first date or a special evening. The food is really good and interesting adding a modern twist to dishes you might know and introducing you to many you might not. It's not especially cheap, though it's not ridiculously expensive, but if you are on a bit of a budget but would like to go look out for the Evening Argus offer that they do every year around March as they always have Indian Summer as one of the restaurants you can go to and enjoy two courses and a glass of wine for £10. I went three times last time the deal was on!

Yelp
If you want an indian dinner, but the type that you might actually find in india, this is the place for you. East street is known for being trendy, and this place fits right in. crisp white decor with touches of dark wood and massive mirrors, its the ultimate in chic dinner locations. But what really excells is the food. I hate hot food, but even the hottest dish here has been eaten by myself simply because it was so tasty I couldn't resist. Definitely worth a visit for something different. You will not be dissapointed.

Yelp
Can't believe my review has been removed! Why? Just because I have spoken the awful dining experience?

Qype User (Curryl…)

Yelp
Don't visit this restaurant if you want a traditional curry, it is not such. Visit here if you want to dissect the pompous menu, where 20 words describe a dish when 3 would do. It is at best comtempory and at worse not even an Indian restaurant as one would know it to be.

Yelp
I think this is the best Indian Restaurant in Brighton including the Chilli Pickle (although admittedly it is a close call). This restaurant's venue is a lot more ambient. The food is delicious and the service was fantastic.

Ben S.

Yelp
This is the place that I realised I liked spicy food. The food is incredible, I ate things I would never have dared try and really enjoyed it. Its hard to describe just how good the food is, not cheap but worth every penny. I had the tandori fish, I can't remember the name of the desert but it was AWSOME! some kind of home made mango icecream and shortbread. Hard to beat.

Graham W.

Yelp
To be honest I only went to Indian Summer because the Rasa restaurant which was reviewed on Yelp wasn't there and has been replaced by some dodgy joint advertising Indian Tapas, which didn't appeal to me at all. Anyway, Indian Summer is a delightful place. Not the usual curry place where you order your dishes and all share a bit of each one. This place has a set menu with options for 2 or 3 courses and your meal is served to you specifically on your own plate. Lovely food and great service. I had 2 courses, swordfish starter with a succulent chicken main course. Enjoyed every mouthful. £22.95 plus drinks.

Yelp
Indian Summer is a lovely name for a restaurant and this restaurant is beautifully decorated. It is not as it's website implies the only Indian restaurant in Brighton but it may be the prettiest. It falls into the category of fancy Indian restaurants- with higher prices, more elaborate dishes and elegant decor. I was excited when I saw the menu- the dishes sounded complex, original and delicious. I ordered the Bhel Puri as a starter, which was incredible- fresh, delicious and huge portion. Then I had the Aloo Paneer Gulati- they had two or three very nice looking veggie options and a vegan option, as well as fish, chicken and lamb dshes. The main course was not as remarkable as the starter and my friends thought their dishes were good but a little bland- where were all the spices promised on the menu? Having said that the food was still fresher and less oily than most Indian restaurants but then the prices were higher. I would guess that this is a restaurant that is great if you pick the right items of the menu. They also do lunch tiffin boxes which are an excellent idea but at £6.50 are too expensive for me to contemplate.

Yelp
Best Indian food I've had! Overall experience is outstanding! The food come right off the oven, still sizzling. I can't wait to go back

Qype User (simonr…)

Yelp
The food was lovely, well cooked and interesting. However, it does not give you much choice as they offer a set menu or nothing It is very expensive and not intirely worth it. Also, I didn't like paying the same for lamb or lentils I probably wouldn't go back but I wouldn't tell my freinds to avoid either

Qype User (se7end…)

Yelp
Excellent dining experience - loved the food, nice ambiance and great service. You pay a little more than for most indian restaurants but was really worth it. The flavours and high quality ingredients make a real difference and I can't wait to go back!

Qype User (arnica…)

Yelp
A curry house with a difference. Really lovely tasty food with the true taste of India.
