We stayed at Indiana Kenanga during our Lembongan visit, and overall, it was a beautiful experience with a few bumps along the way.
The welcome was warm, the reception is small but charming, and the beachfront location is stunning. We had lunch at their restaurant the day we arrived – and wow. Absolute fine dining. The dishes were creative, delicious, and beautifully presented. Yes, it’s pricey – but here, it felt worth it.
Breakfast was also top quality. You order à la carte (no buffet), which was a nice change. The setting is relaxed and classy, although it’s a bit unclear where to go at first. Still, we loved starting the day with fresh fruit and ocean air.
We also tried dinner here – again a high standard, just not quite as impressive as lunch. The setting right on the sand, with hanging lights and the sound of waves, made the whole evening feel special. The food was elegant, and the atmosphere unbeatable.
Massage? Excellent. The spa area is well-designed, and the massage itself was both professional and relaxing. Definitely a highlight.
The only downside was the last morning – where things dropped noticeably. We ordered the same breakfast as always, but suddenly the portions were smaller. We ordered 4 servings of fruit, only got 3, and one of the five fruit types was missing. They forgot the tea and missed the egg on the avocado toast. It felt rushed, and service wasn’t at the usual level. They had also just updated their menus, which might explain some of it – but still, it was a disappointing note to end on.
All in all, a place worth visiting. High-end food, great spa, and a magical location. Just a shame to finish on a low after such a strong start.
