Indie Hostel Koh Tao

Room and service was great. However, our room window was facing the bar street and the music was so loud until 3am that you feel like you are trying to sleep inside of the club. I am not usually one to complain about noise, but I literally couldn’t go to bed until the bar closed for the 2 nights I stayed there. If you are planning to go out until 3 am every night in Koh Tao then this is a great location close to everything. Otherwise, try to find something off this main road.

Hostels are Hostels. Especially during the busy season. Overall i enjoyed it here. Very good hostel if you actually would like to catch up on rest. Not a party place, cozy, dark curtains in bed area, lockers & bathrooms not in the room so less noise

Very quiet relaxed atmosphere. Rooms were comfortable. Receptionists friendly. Rooftop balcony area was a nice hangout space. Excellent location. Would stay again.

If you’re looking for a place to stay which is close to the beach, bars, restaurants and you don’t enjoy getting a good sleep well this is the one for you!! The music across the bar runs until 2-3am every night. So if you’re like me and don’t want to party every single night and get a good rest to go diving and exploring the island during the day I’d strongly recommend to not stay here. The rooms were small but comfortable and cosy. Fairly clean rooms too but there was definitely a very weird smell in the main areas and hallways. There was also a lot of water all over the floor constantly dripping from the roof in the hallway. Overall it’s a fairly nice hostel. Not very social though. I just wish I knew earlier about how obnoxiously loud the music was going to be every single night.

This hostel has its pros and cons depending on what type of stay you like. Pros: a/c, soft mattress, towel included, hot showers, privacy blind, a locker with key card, no bags allowed in the room (good for hygiene, avoiding bed bugs, and aesthetic). Walking distance to the beach. Cons: the stairs are a workout (ground level 1 restaurant, level 2 reception and small lounge area, level 3 private rooms, level 4 dorm rooms and toilets, level 5 showers, drying lines, and balcony). No overhead light in the hostel rooms, the ladders are a bit awkward to climb. The bathrooms are cute but not very well kept up - the soap dispensers are falling off the walls. Pro or con: the hostel is right on one of the main bar streets/seedier streets. You hear music at night until late but with earplugs I had no problems. Location is probably a pro if you want to pub crawl and be out late, but I wouldn’t recommend it for divers who have to be up early. The private rooms are on the side of the building facing the loud street, the dorms are not streetside.

Great location just off the strip (can be a little loud if it is pub crawl night). The staff were very friendly and helpful and the dorms were very quiet (and cold ac) which is perfect for a few nights in koh Tao. I forgot to check out and the staff collected my belongings and kept them safe at the reception until I returned and then they let me check back in a different bed with no charge for not checking out in time which was very nice of them.

Great location, checked in and was able to extend my stay very easily. Two minute walk to the beach!! The room is cosy and has air conditioning. Staff are very helpful with tours and booking transport. Great experience

Tiny rooms, dirty sheets that the staff won't replace (said it was impossible for some reason), on a very loud street with very thin walls, light flickers in the room, power keeps going on and off all day long.
