We booked this hotel at short notice because we decided to make a stop in Kingston and we didn't want to spend a lot of money for one night. I don't know how the other rooms look but the one we got made me feel really uncomfy. It has a kingsize bed and next to it a single bed. I don't really know why but probably good if you are travelling in a group of 3. Anyway, it's really run down, holes in the floor, dirty and unappealing. There is a really old and loud ventilator on the window - you can't really leave it on cause it's so noisy! The bathroom is also rundown and the wash basin is not in the bathroom, it's in the kitchenette area. 🤔 Anyway, the staff is nice but I just felt really uncomfy and didn't feel like the place was really clean. The curtains also had stains etc. If you just want a place to sleep and you don't care about how things look or make you feel or if they may not be that clean, then this place is okay for you. It's close to the Devon house and a lil farther away (take a cab) to the Bob Marley museum. I usually don't care if a place is old(er) or a bit run down but CLEANLINESS is very important to me. So this place is a no no for me.

The customer service at this place was great! We had experienced some horrible service previously, so it was nice to have such happy people checking us in. The room was basic, but clean, though the bathroom was a bit small and damp, and the tub seemed to be draining slowly. There were also a lot of mosquitoes in the room, but it might have been our fault for sleeping with the windows cracked. The food at the restaurant was pretty good! We tried the veggie fritters, which were nice. It was a good location, with the Devon House in walking distance.

The standard of this hotel is way below impressive and it should be out of service altogether for a COMPLETE renovation and decor. I happen to went to Jamaica and decided not to travel too late outside of Kingston so I decided to stay there for only one night but I felt as if I throw away £70 for the night. The state of the room was unbelievable, there's a wash basin in the room with some old fashion cupboard with the doors falling off. The AC was so noisy and the light switch falling off the wall. This hotel is very central and should be in a far better condition for the price they are charging. Never would I recommend absolutely anyone to stayed there. I will never go there again in that condition. Travellers are willing to pay the price for their stay but not for run down hotel. It is a crying shame to be charging that money for a place that is not conductive to travellers.

Frankly, the standard of the hotel is not modern at all. The rooms need renovation badly. Yet, I liked the old fashion style my room was furnitured. I had a room at the upper storey, I think it was No. 11. It was very quite because located on the back of the house, there is a huge courtyard and the street is a bit away.

If it's an emergency and you need somewhere to stay overnight for a comfortable price then it's right up your ally. Rooms are outdated. Staff wasn't particularly friendly but not rude either. Guaranteed no disturbances from staff or bustle of New Kingston traffic.

This hotel is great for anyone traveling the world on a budget. It is true that rooms are quite outdated (cracks on the floor, outdated furniture and TV) but overall clean and worth the price that you pay. The staff was extremely friendly and had no problem accommodating my needs from the moment I arrived , especially the young man at the front desk (can't remember his name). I am a young woman that travels solo on a frequent basis, so safety and comfort is my main priority at any hotel that I stay at. Indies hotel did not fail to make me feel staff with their on site night time security. The restaurant/bar located conveniently down stairs had the most delicious vegan menu I have ever had! I totally recommend their veggie burger and authentic Jamaican dishes! The next time I visit Kingston I would stay here again.

The waitress is the reason why I did not give it higher. The food was ok but she definitely needs training. We had to tell her to give us water, she didn't seem interested in taking up the soup bowl either and seemed more interested in her phone. She was very slow when we asked for water and the bar menu. I was particularly turned off when I asked for ketchup and expected a bottle but got the small ketchups like what kfc gives. Never again Indies.

Friendly staff, however more attention should be paid to the cleaning. Bathroom taps needed de-scaling and cleaning along with bathroom floor. Shower didn't work, so had to have a strip wash. Breakfast was nice.
