Indigo – A little slice of Paris in the heart of Bangkok
Indigo never disappoints, but this lunch really stood out.
We started with the Pâté de Campagne, which was beautifully rustic and full of flavour – exactly what you hope for in a proper French country pâté. Rich but not heavy, perfectly balanced by the sharpness of the gherkins and pickled vegetables.
The Beef Carpaccio was excellent – paper-thin slices of beef, fresh and tender, topped with peppery rocket, salty capers and just the right amount of parmesan. Light, clean and incredibly moreish.
The Tuna Tartare with basil, olive oil and lemon was another highlight. Bright, fresh and delicately seasoned – a refreshing starter that really wakes up the palate.
For mains, the Pork Medallions in mushroom sauce were outstanding. The pork was juicy and cooked perfectly, and the sauce was rich, earthy and comforting without being overpowering.
The Shakshouka was full of bold Mediterranean flavour – slow-cooked tomatoes, peppers and spices with eggs just set, simple but deeply satisfying.
The Sea Bass Provençale was beautifully done – flaky, moist fish with a lovely herby sauce and classic ratatouille on the side. A light but elegant dish.
And for something a little indulgent, the Frog Legs sautéed in butter, garlic and parsley were surprisingly delicate, almost like sweet, tender chicken, swimming in garlicky butter – absolutely delicious.
Indigo manages to combine proper French bistro cooking with relaxed Bangkok charm. The food feels honest, carefully prepared and full of heart. It’s the kind of place you keep coming back to because you always leave happy.
