The Best! I've been to so many Indian restaurants and this is one of the best! 500 different whiskies before we get to the food. The food was ticking all the boxes. Huge selection. Our vegetarian friends thought they had arrived in heaven with the choice. Great flavors. Generous portion sizes and attentive staff with a great ambiance. Be bold and try the dishes you won't find at a takeaway .

Indigo always has excellent food and service. The surprising thing is that it never seems packed - this may be because there are multiple Indian restaurants in Napier's Central Business District. What makes Indigo extra special is its huge selection of whiskeys - dozens if not several hundred. Go for the great food and stay for a whiskey tasting.

Whiskey- Whiskey- Whiskey…… Oh gosh what a delightful little place this is can’t wait to bring hubby here. although it was quiet on a Wednesday night the service was amazing, welcoming just made me happy and the range of whiskeys is beyond comprehension something like 1200 different bottles different prices just incredible and they sell some really nice bottles for off license I believe, also there is a Spirit menu so you can actually find what you are looking for ( example of one of the pages in photos!) thanks team for your hospitality. It was lovely being a woman on my own and having my nightcap with such great company.

Absolutely 💯 amazing, yummy food. Great service with fantastic advice on dishes we should try. Both waitress and waiter were helpful and friendly. Will definitely be back on our next visit to Napier.

If you're thinking about visiting Indigo Restaurant, it's worth noting that my recent experience was a pleasant surprise after two years since my last visit. The renovations have undoubtedly made a difference, and the food is now top-notch with great flavors that stand out. I genuinely recommend giving it a try—you'll quickly notice the improvements for yourself. However, while the taste and service were exceptional, it's important to keep in mind that experiences can vary. Therefore, if you decide to go, perhaps call ahead or check for any new updates regarding their menu or service style. Overall, though I loved it 🥰—the great taste combined with attentive service makes it a worthwhile dining option!

Was a lovely meal and service was good. Tables nicely presented but very large. Can be hard to hear the person across the table if it is busy as it was when we went. Huge selection of whiskeys that line a good part of one wall. Big selection of food on the menu also. There are high chairs for those that need. I was very touched that there is an aed defibrillator just outside too.

Ate real Indian food for the first time in my life. Have never had anything outside of a jar curry or butter chicken. I have a bit of a fear of trying new foods but this restaurant did not disappoint! Noriko provided absolutely stunning service! An absolute legend of a waitress that I will not forget. She even gave me a little chance of using my minimal conversational Japanese, ありがとう、ノリコ。 Would strongly recommend!

Google
Experiences at restaurants can change from one visit to the next. My experience at Indigo was very pleasant. The food I received was excellent, and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t usually go for a curry. The range of whisky / whiskey they have is out of this world, and I found the service great. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant.

Yelp
food, atmosphere and service were all so good. But unfortunately for us, we ordered all out dishes in "kiwi spicy" thinking it was the level above mild... boy were we WRONG! its the level above MEDIUM... it was so spicy i couldn't eat much at all. There was so much heat but i could still vaguely taste everything and it was REALLY good. We started with tandoori chicken and they were SOOOOO soft and tender and flavoursome... We got a fish curry and a goat curry (both were recommendations from online and the waiter) and some nan bread (i was greedy and order the garlic butter and cheese nan bread... lol just stick to the normal one as this one was not authentic anymore). fish curry was a coconut milky base and oh so fragrant... but too spicy so i couldn't have too much.. the goat curry was killer good too. If only the waiter explained the level of spicy to us more clearly we could have enjoyed the meal so much more. born and raised in NZ i always thought we didn't eat that spicy here... apparently not! So bad cheesey garlic nan bread and crazy insane spiciness level took one star off! but definitely recommend guys!!! remember to get MILD if you can't handle.

Yelp
Great food and service. And they must have the largest selection of wines and spirits in Hawkes Hay. There is a seperate Whisky menu, pages and pages!

Yelp
Indigo is easily Hawke's Bay's best Indian restaurant. The menu and setting are both more upscale than other Indian restaurants in the area (and unfortunately, so is the price--also there is no BYO, which makes it even more expensive). They seem to specialize in goat dishes; I ordered one, but cannot remember its name. It was supposed to be a "healthier" alternative without cream, etc. I knew it was going to be good when I ordered it hot and the server asked "Kiwi or Indian". I asked for right in the middle of the two, and it was indeed very hot. The takeaway menu is more conventional "Kiwi" Indian fare; they deliver at no charge to much of Napier. Indigo, you would have earned 5 stars if you allowed BYO.

Yelp
I'm not sure how this place got such high ratings. The ambiance is nice. I ordered Butter Lamb and I ended up with some dish that could have been considered a desert due to all the sugar added. There was absolutely no HEAT. I guess I'm just a spoiled American that's used to spice.

Yelp
This is the best Indian food I've had in ages. Tons of flavor and beautifully presented. There are great vegetarian options if that's your thing but also plenty of meaty things. Papadums and sauces were complementary as was rice. Vegetarian mains were about $20 and naan $4.50 and up. Excellent service, too.

Yelp
Best Indian food I have had and our best meal in New Zealand. The Chicken Butter Masala and Garlic Naan Bread were amazing!

Yelp
Great and attentive staff. Food fresh and great tasting. A good meal to help soak up a day of tasting wine.

Yelp
This is the best Indian restaurant I have ever been to. The food and the service were fantastic. The Fish Tikka was fresh and superbly cooked. The goat and beef curry were brilliant. Spices were perfect food melted in your mouth. The Aloo Paratha was brilliant fresh ingredients cooked to perfection, not oily. What topped off a perfect meal was the best selection of single malt scotch whiskeys on the North Island. Yes, at an Indian restaurant! Laphroaig 18 year old finished off a perfect night. A must go to restaurant in Napier if you like Indian food. A must go to restaurant if you have never had, don't like Indian food.

Yelp
Decidedly the best Indian place in the Bay. Elegant, creative dishes, attentive service, and upscale atmosphere. They also deliver, and always arrive sooner than they say they will!
