I had to wait a long time to enter and I came around 1:20 pm and could enter only 2:30 pm as it was the meal time but the garden came to my rescue as it was very soothing with a big canopy of rain tree. The museum had a special exhibition on Madhya pradesh and various things related to tribal culture of Madhya Pradesh were on display i.e musical instruments, hunting instruments, utensils, face mask, wood sculpture etc. The gallery had Mysore traditional style painting and Thanjavur style paintings depicted Ramayana, Krishna to Wodeyars, also on display were contemporary artists.

Its a great place to visit if you love human history. it has mostly the collection of tools n other stuffs that belong to MP. they charge a minimal fee of 10 for entry.

Truly a hidden gem! Not many people are aware of its significance! Arthur Wellesly who became Mysuru Governor after Tippu's death lived here. He was involved in strategy used for Tippu's death. Such a historical monument is well preserved & is currently an anthropological museum of Govt of India. Rare artefacts are at display. The 2nd floor of this house showcases Mysuru style paintings of the Wodeyars and memories of Wellesly. Free entry currently and has a garden maintained. Worth a visit!

The indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangharalaya is a museum that exhibits to an extent the various tribes of India and thier cultural artificial and tradition. The entry to the museum is free and visitors can experience it in the wellington lodge another marvellous colonial structure which has a great history in itself. Also there is a contemporary art gallery on the top floor!

A must visit place to know the heritage of the city. Former Wellington House is the present museum. The first floor of the house is art gallery and the ground floor is museum. The museum of the ground floor remain close on Mondays.

It was a quite okay and very very small place.. Even on Sunday there was no one visited the place for whole day.. But it is a quick and interesting look if u are near by..

Musium is under renovation. But still you can buy some great decoration items from musium shop.

If you have lots of time to waste .. choose this museum for 20-30 minutes . For exploring some ancient instruments and India's olden culture
