Dishonest and unreliable. I have now had issues twice with INDOCHINO. The first time, I went in at my appointment time and was asked to reschedule because they were unexpectedly understaffed. I understood and said I would come back. The next time, I made an appointment at 3:00. When I went to the store on time, there was a note on the door saying “out to lunch. Be back at 3:20.” I knocked with no answer and the door was locked. I waited downstairs until 3:20 and then went back to the store. When I entered the empty store, I was told that because I was more than 15 minutes late to the appointment, they were forced to cancel. I told them the store was locked when I came to the appointment on time but the representative told me that I was not telling the truth. He then informed me that when I made an appointment for the future, I should make an effort to respect the time slot. I do not plan on going back and I recommend that other customers choose a different store.

I do not recommend going here for a wedding party or something you need to plan on. I went in about two months earlier than necessary and found two suits that I liked. It was a fairly specific color that had been hard to find. The associates told me to come back in a couple months so that it’s closer to the wedding and the fit will be more accurate. I specifically asked if I had to worry about availability and was told NO. Fast forward two months and wouldn’t you know one suit is out of stock and the other’s price went up almost $200. I have got suit from here previously and it was nice but this experience was very disappointing. I found a new shop that is giving me the attention and simple answers I need for this occasion.

Google
This location has treated me so insanely poorly that I’m not sure why anyone would ever shop here. Let me start by saying I got a tux for my wedding here and it was a wonderful experience. Because of it, I went back for my sisters wedding and it was the exact opposite experience. My suit was tailored multiple times and unfortunately on the wedding day, didn’t remotely fit well. It was embarrassing for me and the pictures for my sister’s wedding now has me in pants to short and a jacket too small. I reached out and the staff graciously offered me another suit for free to make up for it, which I accepted and appreciated. Well, fast forward a few months and now no one will respond to my emails about how to get my suit, I went in for a fitting and the manager, while very nice, said there was no record of it or mention of my complimentary suit. They told me the people that offered me the free suit no longer work for that location so it appears I’m now stuck with a poorly made suit and terrible photos from the biggest day of my sister’s life. Highly recommend another option for suits.

Google
The initial measurement went okay. The store is definitely more oriented towards men’s suits than women’s/unisex. When the suit came, the measurements were pretty close except the silhouette didn’t account for my height and was way too long. The pants were spot on. When I went into my final fitting appointment, we determined that the jacket needed to be re-made. The employee assisting with the refit was very knowledgeable. Definitely order with plenty of time for adjustments and possible re-do. The fabric was true to the swatch and the liner felt premium. I would definitely work with this company again.

Google
I walked into the store and no one acknowledged me or my partner as we walked around. They immediately greeted others as they came in and seemed entirely uninterested in helping us today. The folks at Indochino on Newbury Street were quite rude, and this was disappointing! Make sure you have the look if you’d like to make a suit purchase there.

Google
I went to get measured today and the staff was SOOOOOO nice! Melody and Axl were super, super careful in taking the measurements perfectly, explained every single customization to me and helped me with the decisions. Atmosphere is also very nice, calm and comfy! I can't wait for my suit to get home and I already want to come back for more. I highly recommend this place!

Google
I loved everything to do with the quick and easy experience I had buying my suit for my best friends wedding. The liner options for inside the jacket were especially cool.

Google
I recently did my shopping for a wedding suit here with Maggie & Alex (I believe), and they were excellent. They had such a great vibe and energy to them and made the entire experience fun and stress-free. Would recommend.

Yelp
This Indochino location is the best. Chris went above and beyond making sure that my suits fit to my liking. Especially after not having a good experience at the Seaport location, I could tell that they take great pride in their work at the Newbury location. Not only were the correct adjustments made, but I was offered a gift to compensate at the experience I had with another store! I will be coming back here the next time I need a suit and would recommend going here if you need a suit.

Yelp
The manager Chris was incredibly helpful. Went above and beyond to he'll me with a quick turnaround when the store was officially closed!

Robert E.

Yelp
Chris was very helpful and customer oriented. Friendly and knowledgeable. Have purchased multiple articles or clothing over several years. Always very happy. Worth the $!

Eamonn S.

Yelp
I got two suits altered from this location. The new manager, Chris, was friendly and helpful, and the team turned around the alterations quickly. Will go back the next time I need a suit!

Yelp
The lead salesperson there is an absolute jerk - we made an appointment and went in person and were so excited to learn more for our wedding and craft a custom suit. He was abrasive, dismissive, elitest (even though his suit was poorly fitted and he looked an absolute mess). He appeared distracted the entire time even though the store was empty and when I called a few months later to ask about a specific fabric he was once again so rude on the phone and when I asked him if they had a fabric in stock he was being so unhelpful. Truly would avoid this store just because of this guy - go to Seaport.

Brendan K.

Yelp
Went there for a final look appointment. Chris was very thorough and transparent about the required alterations. He was professional throughout the process and took the time to address any concerns I had about the garment

Yelp
Don't bother going to this location. In fact, steer clear of this company as a whole. I thought this would be a better way of buying a suit given COVID, but doing measurements at home was an unmitigated disaster. So I went into the Newbury store to have the suit remade. It still fit terribly. Too tight in places, way too loose in others. Jacket sleeves too long, jacket too long, pants too long, but too tight. Just awful. And that's *after* the "professionals" at Newbury measured me. I moved and ended up going to a NYC location, which eventually fixed some of my complaints about the suit, but it's still the worst fitting suit I've ever owned and I'm supposed to wear this for my wedding. Cool. While at the Newbury store, I had them take measurements for a shirt (at that time I didn't know the level of their incompetence). Well, the shirts arrived with sleeves 2" too short and the body of the shirt some 2 sizes too big. I tried working with customer service, but it's all online chat and anything but helpful. They had me take pictures of the shirts with my suggested adjustments and they had the shirts remade. Except they didn't change a single thing. They sent me new shirts that fit exactly THE SAME! I would take the shirt to a tailor, but there's no way to lengthen sleeves, so I've basically wasted $180 on two shirts that are unwearable. Also, they sent me white shirts with some kind of grime on the sleeve (see pics below) I will have to now drive back to that Manhattan location (3 hours each way) to have them take all of these shirts back and measure me *again* and pray that a) the shirts arrive before the wedding and b) that they, you know, fit. Honestly, I'm so irate over the experience that I'm ready to light the whole pile of ill-fitting fabric on fire, record it and upload the video with this review. Worst. Experience. Ever.

Yelp
Run!!! The in store help was next level bad. I went to select a suit fabric for my wedding party. The Measurements were way off. The fabric and the suit we got were far different in color. customer service told me the lighting where they take pictures is different than my house when I sent a picture of what it should look like. You can't get anyone on the phone to relay the issues you've been having in context. The people in that chat just reference the return policy then close the chat. I waited on hold for an hour with no contact at all when I called the 855 number. I tried going to a different location and they just shrugged and said there was nothing they could do. Not worth your time or money to bother with this awful company!

Yelp
Had an appointment, showed up on time, door was locked. Salesperson opened the door, turned his back, walked away. We waited about 5 minutes for him to return from the back room. He returns, gets on the computer , snd without turning his back says, "You're here for your appointment!" Never mentioned my name, never greeted me, never introduced himself. Suit couldn't be ready in the time I needed, not his fault, my problem for not planning. Rudest "salesperson", I've ever encountered. Left and went to a local tailor, bought two suits, blazer, two pairs of pants . All made in Italy . I wouldn't waste a moment of time patronizing anyone who would hire a dolt that is so rude and clueless.

Yelp
BEWARE - you only have 10 days to validate their measurements. I was away during the 10 day window and apparently now am completely out of luck. The suit fits nothing like it did in store. The button on the jacket barely buttons and the last measurement the (college student) fitting professional adjusted was to fix the button that was too tight. Potentially that didn't make it into the system. Called the store - they told me that there should be 2+ inches that a local tailor can let out - great. I went to a tailor and they showed me that there is maybe 1/3in extra fabric on 3 different seams, but cannot let all of it out or there is a risk the suit will rip. The tailor is going to do whatever they can, but didn't think it would be enough. I haven't changed body shape since the fitting about a month and a half ago... I contacted Indochino corporate via chat as their phone lines have been "temporarily shut off until further notice". I was told that at this point I can't even pay $300 for another suit coat. They cannot rush it as they are all made "from scratch" in China. I called the store back during business hours and my call went to voicemail. The voicemail then cut me off before I was able to finish describing the issue and give my phone number. I used another online retailed for a self-measured custom fit white dress shirt. It fits perfectly and they have a NINETY DAY alteration window. Indochino's 10 day window is an insult and complete joke. AVOID INDOCHINO at all costs. Go elsewhere for your suit.

Yelp
Indochino in an indonutshell: order online, get a bespoke suit for $350. Brick and mortar locations exist as showrooms, where pro-grade tailors will take your measurement better than most other people. While you're in your kitchen. Following their video tutorials. So when my made-to-order suit as a groomsman was juuuuuuust a bit off, I made an appointment to come in for a free round of adjustments (standard with purchase). To my surprise, they offered to completely remake the suit - a grand gesture of goodwill, and much appreciated as the cut of the jacket and the length of the pant would have made it tough to simply "fix." A bit of a late start for my appointment, but the time was made up with quick and proficient measurements that offered more options than the website could (including a more tapered and stylish pant leg, along with a higher on the hip, booty poppin' waist fall). Order submitted, and was told to expect it to be sent to the address on file. Given, the rating is specifically for the appointment. Final say on Indochino as a brand when the finished product arrives.

Yelp
PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT SUBJECT YOUR WEDDING PARTY TO THIS NONSENSE! 1. They routinely run out of fabrics (no big deal, you didn't really want your wedding party to match, did you?) 2. They can't tell you WHEN or IF a fabric will come back in stock. 3. In spite of it being 2019, they can't (or won't) alert you when a fabric is back in stock. You get to keep calling and checking the website yourself. 4. The online and phone service people can't apply discounts to orders over the phone (e.g. for "the bundle" discount). They say you have to go to the store to get that. (wait for it...) 5. The storefronts can't take orders over the phone, so you need to go *back* to the store another time just to place your order, which would have been nice to do the first time you were there, but of course at that time they didn't even have the fabric picked out by the groom. After a long email to their customer service about this, their response was basically "yeah that's how our business works, sorry." So, so terrible. Oh so terrible. If your friends/family choose this vendor, consider just sabotaging the engagement so you don't have to wade through the hellscape that is ordering a suit from this place.

Yelp
I have only good things to say about Indochino, in special, the person who helped me, Giovanni who as as polite thoughtful and through as possible. My wedding suit was made to size, and by the time I got it, I had lost some weight, they readjusted the suit and shipped for free, no questions asked. Suit was perfect and seems to be high quality. Everyone thought it looked great. They are busy, so make sure to make an appointment. I arrived there on a Saturday early morning and the only 2 people working at the moment, seemed a little overwhelmed and tried to send me away. I would say this is the one thing I did not like. I already had and item I had purchased with me, so perhaps, being a little more thoughtful with an actual paying customer would be nice. Giovanni, who had previously helped me, happened to walk in to work at about 30 minutes later, and helped me with no issues. I was out of there in 30 minutes. I will definitely order again.

Yelp
Absolute trash company. The store looks modern and nice, the people inside are nice enough but the product is garbage. The measurements make you think you are getting a custom suit but they quickly ship these numbers off to some low end manufacturer and your suit arrives a week later, and will be the wrong size. I called for alterations and they told me the only appointment available was weeks away and only give you a tiny window on a certain day. My suit was so far off that I moved my entire day around so I could appear for the appointment. When I arrived for the alterations there was nobody in the store after they made it seem like they were booked out for weeks. I'm not sure what sorcery they pulled but the jacket appeared to fit a tiny bit better in store, but when I got home and tried it on again it didn't fit at all. I eventually had to use another tailor to fix the jacket because I did not trust Indochino one bit. The tailor that fixed it for me said they were off by at least 3 inches... Save your money, your time and go elsewhere. I wouldn't recommend this store to my worst enemy

Yelp
I though this place was going be awesome. But no . Work more on custome service that's the key in any business. Customer experience. Cloths are beautiful. But customer service can sell anything. But I found another awesome store .

Yelp
I had a fantastic experience at Indochino buying my first suit. Naiya was truly wonderful--friendly, knowledgeable, fun, and very patient as I wavered between options well past our appointment time. I came to Indochino after trying SuitSupply, down the street, first. For whatever reason, I had basically two options at SuitSupply, at least as presented by the salesperson, for a blue slim suit. At Indochino I was able to pick from what must have been at least 50 fabric choices, 20 of which were blue and all available in the fit I wanted. Indochino exclusively makes made to wear suits, which means a few things: 1. It takes a while to get a suit made here. Including production and alterations, my suit will be ready to wear in about two months. That's no issue for me, but if you need a suit for an upcoming event just keep this timeline in mind. SuitSupply, in comparison, was able to offer an off the rack suit with alterations within a week. 2. Make an appointment rather than showing up. Appointments last an hour and guarantee you'll have someone available to fit you, which is a necessary step given that nothing here is "on the rack". 3. While I haven't gotten my suit yet, I'm hopeful I'll end up with a better fit than if I had a rack suit altered. On this point, I'll circle back with an update in a couple of months once I see how it turns out. Indochino was suited my needs perfectly, and once more I can't recommend Naiya enough!

Yelp
AVOID AN APPOINTMENT WITH HUGH if you ever go to Indochino Boston. I figured that with the lower price point versus other peers like Suit Supply the service wouldn't be as good, but this was unacceptable. Not only was HUGH utterly unhelpful, but also combative and rude. My plan was to come in and buy several tuxedos for a wedding, and due to Hugh I'm instead buying from Combatant Gentleman or Black Lapel instead. He gave antagonistic suggestions and responses to basic questions. When I asked to see a specific color suit, he showed me a different color and tried to pass it off as the correct color, then responding brusquely when I pointed out the one I wanted to see. He also at one point removed a pin from the sample jacket I had on in such a rude way that it almost scraped my chin. If Indochino corporate reads his, you should consider firing him or transferring him to a non-client-facing role ASAP to stop losing more sales due to his behavior.

Yelp
IT DOES NOT FIT ANY EXPECTATION OF A MEASURE MADE SUIT!!!! BE CAREFUL GUYS!!! IT IS NONREFUNDABLE!!!! They are not efficient! The 'measure made' clothes does not fit! The quality does not match the price! The service is okay and I wait a fair amount of time(20 days) to get my suit and shirts. However, the suit and shirt does not fit me at all, it just like I bought some oversized clothes so that I would not burst them. The quality of the clothes is not even as good as some ready-to-wear clothes I can get from H&M!!!! The price and quality have a serious discrepancy. I have made something similar but with much better material in HongKong which is not as expensive as I spend on Indochino one, but close. However, from the shipping info I can tell that Indochino is making their clothes in northern China where they can have much lower labor cost, and this is what make their price more ridiculous. I know Chinese tailor can make amazing suit, I know how much would cost , and I also know how much can those material cost in China! Don't try to fool costumers just because they don't know the market!!!!! Finally I contact them for a 'final look' alternation, and they told me to wait FIFTEEN DAYS! And after that I have to wait another two weeks to get my clothes done. So in total I have to wait FORTY-NINE DAYS to get my clothes. RIDICULOUS!

Tim S.

Yelp
Buying a suit from Indochino was a complete disaster. In fact, it was the worst retail or online transaction I have ever experienced. In summary, the product is poor, the staff are incompetent and rude, and the company does not keep its promises regarding timelines and policies. In March, I ordered a suit for my wedding in July. I had ordered a suit before (and had alterations done in Boston showroom), so I was hoping the fit would be okay this time around, since they had measurements on file (The first suit was a disaster as well, but is not the subject of this review). 4 weeks later, the suit arrives. The fit was so bad that I was considering returning it then and there. However, against my better judgement, I take it in to Indochino Boston to see if they can perform alterations. The experience in the store getting it altered was perfectly pleasant, and they promised my suit would be ready May 1st. However, the alterations took almost 2 weeks longer than promised (even after I followed up on two occasions). When I finally picked it up, I was absolutely stunned by the poor quality of the suit. The jacket somehow warped in the alteration process, resulting in a large amount of permanent wrinkling and bubbling. Anybody who has worn (or even seen) a suit before would know that this is absolutely unacceptable and unwearable. I have attached a picture of the suit - you can judge for yourself if this is an appropriate final product. Still hopeful, they could fix it - I scheduled an appointment at the Indochino store after discussing the problem over the store with the manager. When I arrive at my appointment, the store employee seemed to think that steaming it would fix the problem. However, after trying that, she returned without at all fixing the wrinkling and bubbling. She said there was nothing else that they can do, and that this was an acceptable final product from Indochino. I asked to speak with a manager, as I was confident that the suit was completely unacceptable quality. Since the manager wasn't in the store, I was promised the manager would call me first thing in the morning. As it would surprise nobody, the manager never called . I had to follow up with Indochino customer service (after emailing and calling multiple times). They were unable to fix the suit, and were unable to get a new suit in time for my wedding. As a result, I was left scrambling finding a new suit for my wedding. I cannot emphasis enough how frustrating my entire experience with Indochino was. The quality of the suit is terrible as evidenced by the fabric warping on my jacket after a basic alteration (are these suits really half-canvassed?). The fit was abysmal - I would steer clear of Indochino showroom entirely and use an independent tailor. But most of all, Indochino failed to meet their promise in terms of timeline. And when the suit finally arrived, they were unsympathetic and failed to provide an adequate solution. Look at the picture of the suit. Indochino stood by this as an adequate final product. Decide for yourself if this level of quality is worth going though a multi-month frustrating experience. And if something goes wrong, Indochino certainly isn't commited to making it right.

Yelp
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!!! I would give zero stars if I could. This place is the worst. Horrible and rude staff that don't know how to even take proper measurements. They have absolutely no customer service skills. Even when you reach out to corporate, they are absolutely useless. Basically wasted a lot of time and money with these people and I just don't want anyone else to have to go through the same experience.

Yelp
So this is tough. It amazes me, when a company you believe in and support as an online entity only, decides to open up an 'antiquated' brick and morter store, and they take such drastic steps backwards in customer service and you have to think if it is worth going elsewhere from now on. I have been purchasing clothing from Indochino since 2013. I have purchased I believe 8 suits and 10-12 shirts. to say I like their fit, choices, quality, etc is obvious. so why the negative review? I have spend in excess of $5,000 on clothing with them Until 6 months ago, I have always done everything through the website. Take my measurements, submit them. design and customize, order, and receive. I have had to have things tailored a little after the fact, which I did with a local tailor I trust very much (see my other reviews) So what changed? My sister is getting married, and her Husband to be wanted suits from Indochino. Great! But I had to go into the store to order it, and get the accurate pricing, I couldnt do it online. This is where the first issue happened. I was measured, ordered, etc. all fine. I customized the suit to my liking, as Indochino allows. I talked with my future brother in law, to make sure what I was doing was ok - he was on board. I would match, but be able to customize a suit i would end up using for work after the wedding. Well the suit came in, and it was not customized as I desired. and as I ordered. When I called indochino, the girl said she had to change my customization, because she reached out to the Groom, and he said to. I called him, and he refuted her story. he was fine with what I did, and never spoke with her. She LIED to me, and took it upon herself to customize the suit. When I said I wanted a new one made to my specifications, she refused ok, upset. it happens Fast forward to the past three weeks. I ordered another suit, using the same measurements. I increased the jacket wrist measurement to fit my watch and cufflinks for french cuff shirts (yeah, first world problems). It came in a little bigger then expecting (I think they increased the diameter versus the circumference). No biggie, Customer Service said I could bring it to my own tailor and get reimbursed, or to the studio and have it fixed for free. Hindsite is 20/20, and I should have gone to my tailor even if paying. I went to the studio to save money. was told 1-2 week turnaround. fine! I have a wedding this weekend (the 20th) and it was the 2nd of May), so worst case scenerio, 2 weeks I could pick up on the 16th when I had a day off. then the issues pop up 1. The clerk helping me with new measurements wants to change this, that, etc. no, please just change what I am asking do not retailor. 2. I call on the 15th, since it has been two weeks, and I have not heard. no suit. they said it should be there on the 16th at 7pm. to late for me to pick it up, but ok. they said they would call and I would get an email when it was there. On the 16th, no call, no email 3. I called on Wed the 17th. time getting close. I called again. Girl on the phone said she would check on it, and call me back. no call. no email. no jacket. 4. i called again today. The guy on the phone said he would check. That he didnt know what tailor it was with, but it wasnt back (going on 2.5+ weeks now). He called around, and said 'hopefully' it might be there Friday the 19th - too late for the wedding of course. He said they were busy, and busier then last year, so alterations can take 3-4 weeks WHAT?!?! to say I am frustrated is an understatement. To say it strains my belief in the company is an understatement. Having in person assistance in a brick and morter location has made the location WORSE, and has led to me getting product that is not how I want, not customized how i want, and left me very unhappy. With a lot of other made to measure studios, both online and locally, it is hard to support a company that doesnt seem to want to support their customers or stand behind product. I have purchased product online with House of Bespoke with success, and with 9Tailors locally, and been happy. I guess I have to push any future business their way, since Indochino does not seem to value customers and proper service.

Yelp
Holy crap I should have read the Yelp reviews first. My bad experience, I now see, is exactly like everyone else's. Multiple trips to the showroom for alterations, which is understandable if they were effective, but they made pants that fit alright not fit at all and in the end they had to alter or remake the jacket so many times that the fabric was threadbare and the collar puckered, and the pants were altered to be so tight and short they made my thighs look like sausages. I couldn't raise my leg more than 6 inches off the floor. I tried to order a shirt along with the suit, multiple remakes later and I ended up with something that made me look like a pirate, blousy in the back. 10 days out from my wedding and I had an unusable suit. Sweet, panic and anxiety! How the hell are some of you not getting refunds from Indochino? I'm still waiting on mine but was promised I'd get a full refund by Chris the manager for both the suit and shirt when I returned the suit to their showroom yesterday, taking another day off work to drive into Boston to deal with this crap, in the pouring rain. I know it's not Chris' fault, the tailor they use is terrible and his staff has no idea what they're doing, but I honestly feel like I deserve more than just the cost of the suit for all the time I've wasted on this. Any of you who never got a refund should definitely push harder. Don't waste your time at Indochino Boston, who even when I had an appointment they kept me waiting. Some other reviewers here mentioned different employees every time they were in; I noticed that too. Went to JCrew down the street at Copley immediately after returning everything to Indochino yesterday and everything fit (almost) perfectly, only needing minor alterations like sleeve and pant length with a 1 week turn around time. Was offered water, my wet jacket was taken from me and hung up, someone who actually knew what the hell they were doing measured me up. The experience was night and day. A little more expensive but totally worth it to be treated well, by professionals, who will be there the next time you go in. Edit: I realize I only have 2 reviews on my profile. That gives you a good idea how shitty my experience was. The other review is for JCrew. Double edit: Decided to also rate my old coffee shop, so I have 3 reviews now. Just keeping myself honest on a slow day at work.

Yelp
This review is for dress shirts only. I went through 4 rounds of alterations trying to get the right fit on a pair of shirts. Each time the results were progressively worse, so I'm giving up. It sounds like a lot of people had better luck with suits, but at this point I spent too much time trying to get a shirt even semi-close to right, to go through the process again. I do appreciate the friendly staff though, who seemed just as baffled as I was with how the shirts came back. Indochino seemed great because the Boston showroom is nearby, you can see and feel the different fabric options and they'll take your measurements for you and order from there. I'm a skinny guy with wide shoulders and have trouble finding tops that don't billow at the waist or stretch out in the chest so I was looking forward to getting something made-to-measure. On my first visit the staff were really friendly and encouraged me to go for a 3 shirt deal going on at the time. Since I didn't need a new suit just yet I went for the deal and they took my measurements, warning me that it often takes one round of adjustments to get the right fit. The first shirts came back, as they predicted, ill-fitted. The sleeves went down past my thumbs and the shirt was billowing around my waist. But the staff marked up the shirt for adjustments and told me I'd receive a new pack of 3 shirts in 2 weeks. Unfortunately the shirts came back absurdly small. When buttoned around my chest they showed skin and while they were great around my waist I could no longer button the cuffs. The staff sincerely apologized and offered to make adjustments a second time given how off the results were. The third time something had to have gone completely haywire in the numbers. The shirt was cartoonishly tiny and left my entire torso exposed. The staff was both extremely apologetic and confused as to what happened- my measurements on file did not come close to matching the shirt. They took the shirts back again and offered to start the process from scratch. This weekend I received the 4th iteration of shirt in the mail. As the shop warned it still wasn't right and would need another re-measure to get a better fit. At this point though I'm tired of it all. So I'm donating the shirts and looking elsewhere.

Yelp
Please read this and spare yourself months of headache/torture. Why doesn't yelp allow negative ratings? Story: I went to Indochino Boston about 6 months ago to order a suit. I received it about 4 weeks later, and the whole suit fits HORRIBLY. So I brought it back to the store and ask them what they can do about it. They said the first alteration is included, so I patiently waited. After several weeks, the pants came back fitting alright (not great, but its a 400 dollar suit right?), but the suit jacket was way too tight (can't even put it on tight). They said there is nothing that they can do about it but to remake the suit jacket. Well, I guess shit happens? Another week passed, I got an email from Indochino saying that they ran out of the fabric, and I will have to go in and select another fabric to have the whole suit remade...... I guess I have no choice at this point, since I only have a pair of suit pants and nothing else. Went back to Indochino for the 4th time... selected a new fabric, went through their whole bullshxt process of ordering a suit. ANOTHER 6 WEEKS passed. Well, guess what? About a day ago, Indochino decided to tell me that they made me ONLY the suit jacket with the first fabric that i selected....... I called the store and asked them if they have any record of my second order.... They said NO. Well, I was at the store watching them put in my second order into their computer.... but i guess it is easier for them to straight up lie about it and say that there is no record of it. Why bother to even have me come in the store and order another suit if you are just going to make me whatever you want? Don't even bother asking for a refund because they won't give your money back even though their service and products are terrible. TL;DR: This is the absolute worst shopping experience in my life. Will continue to update this.

Yelp
I cannot recommend Indochino, despite really wanting to like their concept. My fiancée and I have purchased multiple suits and a dozen shirts over the last year - every suit has required multiple alterations. Their pricing is generally competitive and the staff has generally been nice enough that we have made additional repeat orders. We even considered them to make the suits for our upcoming wedding! Today, even their customer service fell short of expectations - last straw. A year-old suit pant tore, despite normal wear. The manager even acknowledged that the issue was a bit unusual for such a new suit. Then she went into the back room to consult with her co-manager and came out with a totally different opinion - she decided that the tear was because it was "fine fabric" and our only option was to replace the suit pants (she could not even place the order for us), at full cost to us. I am giving one star because of two key issues. First, that their expensive custom suits are not expected to last more than a year of normal wear BECAUSE of their expensive material, and second, because they do not empower their own management to make the right decisions for their loyal customers. Bad quality AND bad customer service? Take your business to one of the other dozen custom suit start-ups on Newbury that invests in at least one of those two areas . I'm sure you'll have a better experience.

Yelp
As the Owner of a staffing business, Im perplexed with the 'customer service' experience at both Indochino locations in Boston. Its amazing when service reps cannot process information that pertains to business limitations without having emotional meltdowns where they're 'offended' by your frustration with their inability to address a simple matter. To add the cherry on top, a manager called me as I began writing this review, to suggest a solution. Thanks, but the last insult from this 'generation' of kids is his suggestion that my characterization of meltdown is because the service rep was female. Funny. No. Male and female reps at both Indochinos had their meltdowns. Wow. Im generation X, and as a business owner I gladly take my business elsewhere to service reps who are focused on the customer, resolving the issue and source of the frustration and not close up emotionally as they seek their safe place. Good luck with this group

Yelp
Horrible and rude staff would be an understatement. We walked into the store and a gentlemen sitting on the couch greeted us with a rather bored tone noting to let him know if we had questions. Great, pretty normal. Well when walking through the small store (I note that it's small so that you know it's easy to see when a customer may have a question or need some assistance). I keep looking at the gentlemen that greeted us (still sitting on the couch with his phone) for some assistance. Finally saying 'I have a question'. Without moving the guy goes 'yea?' - again, didn't even move from the couch. So I ask 'are you busy or can you help me?'. After a second the gentlemen finally gets off the couch to come answer questions, again with a very bored attitude. Sorry but you're not getting my money.

Yelp
I almost didn't come here due to a lot of the negative reviews, but I had already made an appointment on the recommendation of a friend. I needed an outfit for my wedding, but I live in Anchorage, Alaska, where we don't have a lot of menswear options. I happened to be in Boston, so having a place that I could get properly measured, then order online was perfect. Daniel did a great job of getting me measured. It was a pretty detailed measurement during which I was fitted for pants, jacket, vest, and shirt. After being measured, he helped me answer some of the questions I had about fabric and options. There is a good selection of fabrics, and evidently they have the option to use fabrics in ways that go beyond what they website shows (for instance getting a 3-piece suit with a contrasting vest). I went home, thought about it, picked out the final details, and ordered online. My blazer, vest, and slacks came in the mail just a few weeks later. They fit almost perfectly out of the box. The blazer needed no adjustments, and the other pieces just needed minor alterations. After just a couple minutes on the phone, Indochino gave me instructions to get the adjustments made at a local tailor - fully paid for with their voucher. The quality is good. It's obviously not a high end bespoke suit, but far better than anything I was looking at off the rack in terms of fit and value. The customization is great. I will definitely use them again.

Yelp
This review is mainly about Indochino's customer service, especially as it relates to the creation of suits for the groomsmen in my bridal party this summer. Our experience with Indochino, and the Boston store in particular, was horrible. 5 members of my party booked and showed up for what was supposed to be a "private fitting" after closing one Friday night. It turns out there were several other people, and one other bridal party, being helped at the same time. Luckily we received divided attention and were all fitted, and we selected a "best seller" suit knowing that the final 2 members of the party who were not present would need to be fitted separately. In the weeks that followed, our party's consultant quit the company and no one ever told us about it. When those last two groomsmen went in to get their suits fitted, they were told this "best seller" suit had in fact been discontinued, and that we were out of luck. Our suits would not match. The store workers had no idea our bridal party even existed, or that 5 matching suits had already been purchased. After several calls to customer service, it was very clear that HQ and the satellite store locations had almost zero communication. The Boston store folks were useless, as were the DC store folks. All along, we were never given another bridal consultant. In the end, after much pleading and dozens of calls, HQ customer service found enough leftover fabric before it ran out to create two more suits. The end product turned out to be pretty good (4 out of 5 stars for the suit itself), but really not worth the headache involved getting there. OK for one off suits, terrible for bridal parties or other groups.

Yelp
First off, $330 for a made-to-measure suit shipped to my door is an insane deal. Buy a groupon that pops up now and then, and it's even cheaper. I had initially done the measurements myself (following their guided videos) and placed the order online. The suit arrived 3 weeks later and didn't fit well, due to my DIY measurements. I called the Newbury St store & made an appointment for a tailoring session. I was helped out by Johnny, who was great; super friendly and accommodating. He decided I should have my suit completely remade. The measuring process in the store is much different than the DIY online process. Instead of taking a bunch of measurements and piecing together a suit from them, in the store, they eyeball you and grab one of several 'template' jackets and pants they think will approximately fit you, then they measure to take in and let out from there. Because my customizations had been stored from my first order online, I was out of there in less than an hour. 2.5 weeks later I received my remade suit, and it looked great. I took it to my local tailor for a couple very minor adjustments, and Indochino's policy is to reimburse me for those alterations once completed. Taking it to a local tailor and getting reimbursed is the way to go, since Indochino can be backed up on with alterations themselves. As far as the suit, they have a large selection available and customization options are great. Working button holes on the sleeve for no extra $$ is a great touch, btw. Construction of the suit jacket, especially the liner, is excellent. In retrospect, I would say that going into the store to get measured to ensure you get the right fit is the way to go. For an amateur like me, measuring at home is risky and not worth it. Let the professionals do it for you. The difference between the two suits I received was like night and day. At the end of the day, Indochino is a great value for odd-bodied guys like me who cannot buy an off-the-rack suit without spending over a $100 to have it tailored to fit somewhat okay. My last MTM suit purchase from a guy in NYC was over $600 and there were quality issues. This was a much better value!

Yelp
Alright, here it is. I've been a longtime customer of Indochino, BEFORE the Boston location came into existence. This review is for the Boston location specifically. Fortunately, the Indochino business culture is great enough that I chose to suffer through the experience here. I typically ship my items to the store for receiving/logistical purposes. I need no measurements or anything else. I can't blame the people here, because it seems like everytime I come in here there is a completely new staff. However, they need better people skills. Make everyone who steps through the door feel like a valued customer. I get treated like "are you lost?" lol. *****The NYC location I used to go to for everything Indochino IS F'N AWESOME. 5 star experience. 'Moses' there is the man.****** The Process for new people. 1. Plan 10 WEEKS AHEAD. Figure you won't get anything functional for 10 weeks. 2. GET MEASURED AT THE LOCATION! Don't measure yourself. 3. Order the suit. ASK questions, they have MORE OPTIONS THAN AVAILABLE ON THE SITE. Example, half lined Jacket. 4. 3 to 4 weeks later, you'll get your suit, deliver it to the store (trust me on this) 5. Set up appointment at the store to fit your suit, It is HIGHLY likely you will be disappointed. Don't be, this is a process, get remeasured, tell them what you like and dont like, and they'll reorder your suit with better measurements. 6. 3-4 weeks later, your better fitting suit will arrive. Good Luck.

Yelp
I have had several excellent experiences with Indochino. Their customer service team (shoutout David!) were very understanding and worked with me to find a resolution to an issue that was not their fault. This is the type of customer service that earns repeat customers, and has made me promote Indochino with friends, family, coworkers, etc. On top of that, their fabric selection is excellent, pricing is very reasonable, and I've gotten TONS of compliments on my IC suits over the past several months. I'm talking strangers in the street literally stopping and complimenting my suit - that's how you know!!

Yelp
Final update: The day of the wedding came and went, and my pants did not arrive (even though I was given an updated and delayed arrival date of the day before the wedding). Instead, it arrived a couple of days after I had already left NYC, which meant I needed to either return and retrieve it at a later date or I needed to have a friend ship it to me. You really, really can't depend on Indochino's timing. Their arrival estimates apparently mean nothing since they can change it at any moment without notice, in spite of they themselves labeling it as "urgent". Empty words. Extremely disappointing. The fit of the suit itself is alright. For a made-to-measure suit, I was hoping it'd be better, and I'm sure it would've helped if their first try wasn't wildly off and required the remake of both the suit jacket and pants. Again, disappointing. An issue where some loose fabric under the right armpit was pushed outwards and created an unwanted fold was not resolved, despite it being found at the second round of measurements. Dimpling on both shoulders was also not resolved. All in all, a very disappointing and drawn out experience. In-store customer service is alright, but anything related to the manufacture and shipping of goods has absolutely no oversight or accountability. Never ever buy a suit from Indochino unless it's on a hugely discounted sale. For full price, you might as well get an actual bespoke suit made by people who care about their work and have real attention to detail.

Yelp
Order a suit about 4 weeks ago, called the store to find out some info on why my suit hasn't been delivered... when i call they give some type of stupid excuse why its not done... when i go to ask for a refund, they hit me with we dont do refunds... what kind os sh##t is that... a friend had told me about this place, and u can best believe grand opening GRAND CLOSING... i would never give them a second thought about buying anything from them, unless they get there shit together.... waste of time and money going to Indochino

Robert L.

Yelp
Service in store was fine but if they don't get it right the first time best of luck with alterations. They refuse to have a customer service number to call and make you do everything via email. If you don't live near a brick and mortar store don't even bother trying. Their reimbursement policy is total bs and requires long forms with pictures from all angles. My shirt was far too baggy and was told they would only cover up to $25 dollars towards a local tailor. For the amount of money you spend especially for a wedding like I was in I would highly recommended going elsewhere. For a company that advertises as convenient it was the most inconvenient experience of my life.

Swamiravana G.

Yelp
You get what you pay for with these suits. Mediocre quality and I'm fine with that. However please don't go to this location. The staff are rude and make you feel like an inconvenience and waste of their time. The man who fitted me couldn't get me out of the store fast enough, absolutely terrible customer service. They really need to retrain the store managers and until they do, I'd never come back here.

Chris P.

Yelp
"Once the fabric is cut for your order we can't provide a return or refund, but our team is happy to help correct any fit issues." even if you were told the pocket was on the inside or if it looks vastly different when not under their spotlight lighting.

Yelp
I got suited up for my wedding here. I bought a custom three-piece suit, a few custom shirts, and a pocket square. The total came to about $600, if I recall correctly. Everything fit beautifully, and I've gotten endless compliments in the days since my wedding about how that suit stepped up the suit game for everyone else. The suit arrived just over a month after I ordered it; they told me, when I ordered it, that shipping might be delayed by the Chinese New Year, so this was all fine. It arrived well in advance of my wedding. So the price was right, the suit was beautiful, and the shipping time was reasonable. Some of the clothes required modifications after they arrived (if I recall correctly, either the shirts or the jacket were tight around the back); the staff turned those around quickly. The final product fit like a glove. I continue to wear the custom shirts to work every day; they look great on me. (I have less occasion to wear the suit, though I'm tempted to wear it to work and thereby out-dress everyone other than the CEO.) And now they have my measurements on their website, so I can order new clothes whenever I want. I intend to use that feature. Not even really a complaint, but more a suggestion: I wish I could have bought my shoes and socks here, as well. Instead I walked down the street to Allen Edmonds and bought beautiful shoes there, so no harm no foul.

Yelp
I bought two suits for $823 but I'm regretting now. Both are bigger than I measured, moreover bad quality than I expected. I'm feeling now K&G's suits are way better than Indochino's. If I had gone to K & G before going to this store, I could have bought 4 suits of good quality.

Yelp
AMAZING, AMAZING, and AMAZING. The service was flawless here. Victoria did such an amazing job not only fitting me for the perfect suit, but also giving me some good fashion advice! When I received my suits, I was extremely pleased. There were still parts of the suit that didn't quite fit right and so as soon as I called Victoria, she was ALL over it! I'm on suit #4 now because I've been so pleased with the entire experience. Victoria was great, BUT, everyone I interacted with since has been amazing!

Yelp
If you're considering going here, don't. I've been twice now and both times I received my orders (one order was a few dress shirts, the other was a suit), I had to take them back to the store to get resized and adjusted. It really defeats the purpose of the "custom fit" business model when you spend the time getting all your measurements taken and they still end up being wrong. Furthermore, I had an appointment scheduled to get the suit adjusted, and the employee there called me 10 minutes before to let me know he had cancelled it because I selected the "wrong reason" for coming in. I selected "I need measurements taken" because that's clearly what needed to be done due to how far off the sizing was. I'm not sure why: 1. I was not contacted sooner based on my comments for needing the appointment 2. The format of the appointment could not have just been changed - all I needed was to right-size the jacket I paid this $500 for... Now I have to wait another 2+ weeks to bring it in for adjustments. This is absolutely the last time I will use Indochino. There seem to be some solid alternatives in the Boston area with better reviews. I'd highly suggest going to one of those if anybody is in need of a custom fit suit.

Yelp
TLDR: Suit was fine, but service was seriously lacking. This is a generous two stars. (1 star for OK price + 1 star for OK suit; emphasis on just ok) My husband ordered a suit and shirt from IndoChino at the Back Bay location and while the suit itself was fine (not exactly OMG amazing but it wasn't terrible), they messed up on his order more than once. We will not be returning in the future. He made an appointment at the Back Bay store, got his measurements taken and got his photos taken. They took his specifications for the customization, but he hesitated on purchasing right away so he decided to sleep on it. (He felt like they were just rushing him into a purchase) They input all his information into their system and supposedly suspended the order. He called back a couple of days later and the store told him that they lost ALL his specifications and measurements. They did however find his photos... which is of no help. We probably should have went somewhere else at this point, but my husband decided to give them a shot so he went back for measurements and specifications again. It was an unnecessary waste of time, but he was hoping it was just a one time error. He placed an order for a suit and shirt and a few weeks later went in for his fitting (which was aligned with the schedule provided). Unfortunately, when he arrived at his fitting, there was no shirt for him. Apparently they left out the shirt entirely. I realize life happens sometimes and mistakes happen - I'll allow for the "internet gnome" every once in a while but twice in 1 order? That's completely unacceptable. In the end, IndoChino did end up delivering the shirt and suit on time (hence why it's not a worse review), but the headaches and wasted time along way made it an overall negative experience.

Yelp
My experience at Indochino has been great. Their customer service in store was wonderful. I measured my suit jacket incorrectly, to the point where it was not fixable, so they re-measured me and ordered me a different jacket. I also got my pants altered to my liking, which is a slim fit. They also called and notified me when my pants were done and ready for pickup. My jacket is on its way in the mail currently. For a made to fit you suit, it is very very quick. I would recommend if you are looking for an affordable suit. If you are in a time crunch, I would also recommend but give yourself about 2 months to account for alterations as well.

Yelp
I had an appointment here last week for measurement. My tailor was Naiya and she made for a fantastic experience. She was consultative but not at all pushy. I will definitely come back.

Yelp
Naiya was awesome and really helped me figure out the suit I needed when I had no idea. She gave me recommendations on what's modern and made sure the suit and style fit my slim body type.

Yelp
My husband was excited to get a new suit for our Daughter's wedding, and one of our friend's recommended Indochino. This seemed like a great concept, but unfortunately, it has fallen flat. Three months ago, he went in to be measured. I tagged along, and we waited 30 minuted past our appointment time to have him seen for measurements. No problem. We shopped around a bit, and once he had been taped he was able to quick specify how he would like his suit customized. We rang out, only to be told that his suit would arrive in six weeks, not the four that we had been initially told. Eight weeks later, his suit arrived. It was custom made to fit no human shaped person. The arms were too short and the neck was too big. The lining was wrong and the collar too skinny. This wasn't a custom suit. This was a sartorial rights violation. So he took it in to Indochino to get "fixed." A new person measured him, who had never heard of the old person, and they informed him that they would need to start over. They had a new measuring system, you see, so some of their suits were coming out wonky. No apology, no discount, just another six week wait for a suit that we paid for six weeks ago. The suit arrived, and it's fine. Not great. Just fine. He took it in to get slightly altered, but it's noting to write home about and certainly not worth the hassle. This is a great idea, but they need to sort out their execution issues.

Yelp
I sent this to their customer service email it has been a week and still no response, so take this experience for what it is: Yesterday I went to your Boston Showroom to get measurements for a suit or two. I had booked at 6pm appointment and came into the store at 5:50pm. I was first greeted by a salesman, which was a standard hello and do you have an appointment, which was great, he went over to the computer and checked me in. Then came back and said it would be a few minutes and someone would be right with me. After about five minutes another salesman approached me and greeted me again, asked if I had an appointment, I said yes, the other gentlemen already checked me in. He said ok, I will go double check, for which he came back and said it would be just a few more minutes, I would take more time to look around or sit in the waiting area. I decided to sit and wait, since it had been about ten minutes since I had been in the store. I sat for a while longer, a man that seemed to be the store's tailor started to approach the seating area, made eye contact, then proceeded to check his cell phone, walk up beside me and then go on the computer do some work and walk away. Now I do not think it to be too much for a hello, maybe say I am the tailor tonight, we are short staffed or our previous appointments are running a little behind, and I will be right with you, something to show appreciation that I have an appointment and I have yet to be addressed. The same man came by again about five minutes later, did the same thing and walked away. At this point my experience of what it would be like to go to a high end tailor with appointment was far below expectations. I finally had enough, when the salesmen decided to approach people that came in off the street and start to help them with their questions. I know they did not have an appointment since it was the same greeting that I had when I came in for which the customers said no I do not. After a little over 20 minutes of waiting I decided I was not a valued customer and left. Again, maybe the salesman felt I was not worth the time, or I did not fit their picture of your target market, or whatever their reason. I found this experience far below expectations on how a high end tailor should operate. I was prepared to purchase two suits last night having done research on the website and picked out two suits I wanted. On top of that, I have been looking for a new tailor for dress clothes and typically purchase two to three suits a year followed with trousers and shirts every month. It is a shame as I had high hopes of working with you all. Anyways, just wanted to bring this to your attention as I have read similar reviews about the Boston store and unfortunately they held up.

Yelp
Took the plunge and put down a fair bit of scratch on a pair of suits I had never seen. Measurements taken in store on Newbury Street. Six weeks later, the most uncomfortable piece of clothing ever donned. Went back to the store glad they had a return policy. Sindhu who works there greeted me with a smile and sympathized with my plight, and cringed in camaraderie when she saw the suit worn - wedgie city, and "lapel pop" like its 1999. "Give us a chance to make this right," she said. New measurements taken, another 6 weeks to a newly crafted suit jacket and pants that were let out from here to China. Near bliss. I was ready to hug the staff all round, but Sindhu was at it again, her keen eye for the "Indochino Look" in full force, with pins in her teeth, tweaked until the suit was not only comfortable, but streamlined and flattering. The garments are at a final tailoring, but I can review now - I have never been so impressed with a company, and more importantly a person, Sindhu, willing to work with a customer to "get it right." And yes, it worked, I will be back, now that they have my measurements on file, to dress it up again soon. Be patient with their process. Work with Sindhu. And be amazed.

Yelp
Went here for a suit to get married in. They were upfront about the manufacturing and shipping time and any delays that may happen during the process. Took advantage of free tailoring when my suits (took advantage of one of the many cycling/ongoing deals and got two suits for $800) arrived. Great way to get a suit that looks custom and doesn't break the bank. Had a great experience with John at the Newbury Street location, and all the other staff were helpful as well!
