One of the few fine dining restaurants that you can find in Ipoh, Perak, Indulgence offers what its' name says - indulgence.
Of course, with that it comes a rather expensive price tag as well, but you would know the reason once you step into the restaurant and also a boutique hotel. With quite high price list for their exclusive seven boutique hotel rooms in Indulgence, they offer different themes for their different rooms here, namely the Ildi with contemporary setting, Kinnaree with Thai setting, Giulianna with Italian setting, May-Suet with Chinoiserie setting, Tzarrah with Moroccan setting, Qatrynka with Roccoco setting and Beverly with English Country setting. Given the room list here in front of you, I suppose you'd understand why the pricey room rates right?
Having even been featured in the New Straits Times about their rooms, they are treating their boutique hotel rooms seriously here!
Apart from staying in a very distinct and exclusive room, the next best thing would be wake up to great breakfast - yes, they serve awesome breakfast here. Given the choice of juice or coffee to go with your big breakfast, or both at the same time. Their food ingredients are all very fresh here, as their restaurant is a rather popular one in Ipoh and thus it is always packed, and it's always best to do reservations.
I once attended a wedding dinner banquet here, where they serve food in buffet style. They were offering such wide range of foods during the buffet, and I must say that all foods were freakishly good! Especially for an oyster lover like me, the oysters that they were serving were so fresh and big, and juicy!
The success of the restaurant is not without its reason of course. The hard work and sweat of the woman behind the business is the well-known Julie Song who's in charge of the MAS enriched platinum pre-flight meal ordering service too, at the same time being in charge as the designated chef of Indulgence Restaurant. So, I believe you'd know what kind of food quality to expect from this restaurant!
Sharing a little secret here as well, I used to work in the restaurant for a very short while during my summer break, and I must tell you that Julie is a very disciplined mentor at this place! Every smallest details must be met or else she can be pretty strict on you, but again I'd need to clarify here, she's never harsh or mean. Very honourable woman, you'll realize that Indulgence is a personality as well as a restaurant!
Their cakes here sells out pretty fast. So, if you are here for tea break, don't come too late as you won't want to be disappointed by the fact that the cake that you want has been sold out, right?
Overall, the place have dim lighting and curtains all over, pretty cozy. If you're ready to splurge on yourself and crave for some luxuries, it's a very recommended place in Ipoh.
