Ink 48 Hotel

We spent two nights there. The room was huge with floor to ceiling windows., very comfy bed and lovely linens. Service was there with helpful suggestions. The rooms were immaculately clean. We were from this neighborhood and chose it for easy access in and out of the city. Sadly the restaurant and fabulous rooftop bar weren't in commission for our stay. Big plus...1/2 block away from the world famous Sullivan Street Bakery, great for breakfast & lunch.

My daughter and her friend enjoyed the hotel as I did, find it it very comfortable and welcoming. My only gripe was that I had recommended the hotel not just because their accommodations are great but because they have a fantastic bar at the top that I wanted my daughter to enjoy! It was her 21st birthday. Well, they seem to have closed it indefinitely (this was true June of 2024). It was pretty annoying considering that, for me, that was one of the hotel’s best features! So, yeah. I was disappointed with that. However, my daughter enjoyed the stay very much, and I still highly recommend them as a spot for you to stay in if you want a comfortable place in NYC.

We had an awesome experience at Ink 48. The staff was awesome from the second we walked through the door. Our room was wonderful, clean, and comfortable. Completely exceeded our expectations. We had a beautiful view of the Hudson River and they even held onto our luggage after check out so we could go explore so more before out flight home. If we are in town again we will definitely stay here.

Hotel was very clean and well situated. Rooms were large by NYC standards. |Rooms were abit warm though as air con system wasn’t fantastic. We had to be moved from our first room as it just wasn't working. Staff were very helpful with this. ||However 2nd room wasn't hugely better. Can imagine rooms could get very hot in the summer! It's also noisy outside obviously being in the city, so you can't really have the window open at night.||Had some issues with payment which manager was quick to resolve personally. So no complaints on service.||The hotel is very close to lots of good eateries and there is a shop in the hotel. So easy to walk everywhere from this base. We would definitely stay here again as we really liked the hotel and the vibe in Hell's Kitchen, but the air con system would have to be sorted out as that would definitely put us off in hotter weather.

The location was great. Close to the calm waters and walking distance to Central Park and Times Square. Room was clean and comfortable. All of the staff were great. Room service food was absolutely horrible. I ordered an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich and coffee. It was pre-packaged food that was delivered cold in a gift bag. Thin paper plates and a plastic fork was provided. Coffee was very cold.

the hotel is old. The elevator works intermittently, you can leave for the wrong floor several times. “view of the Hudson” may turn out to be a view of the neighboring building behind which there will be the Hudson)) there was no drinking water in the room. The location is convenient - there are grocery stores and cafes nearby, and you can reach the sights of the center on foot. Not the best hotel, average based on ratings that are clearly inflated.

We booked 2 rooms for the weekend, the hotel boasts an excellent location, conveniently situated close to Times Square and a great cafe for breakfast (barking dog rest.) making it an ideal base for exploring the city. However, the cleanliness of the rooms leaves much to be desired. During my stay, I found the housekeeping standards to be quite poor, with noticeable dust and unclean surfaces. Despite the prime location, the lack of proper cleanliness detracted from the overall experience.

Very clean and cute hotel! The rooms are large and I had a view overlooking the water. The staff was friendly and help me with advice to maneuver the city! I would stay here again!

This review is a bit late- stayed for my birthday and had a nice time. The front of the house staff very friendly and helpful. Great suggestions to restaurants and night scene in my hometown of NYC. They have a rooftop bar which has nice views and yummy drinks. The room at first glance looks nice, plush and inviting. After putting my bags down and looking, the carpet has lots of stains, the edges of furniture could use some TLC and maybe some Murphys oil. The bed was a fluffy cloud of softness & my fave part as was the wall art. Room service was good and so were the views. Location wise it's close to the west side hwy which can be quiet at night so be mindful at night or take a car service.

Rooms have a little bit of a weird layout, and it's a shame the restaurant was gone by the time we stayed, but it's a nice modern hotel with pretty spacious rooms and comfortable beds in a nice part of the city. Great that they have parking... make sure to read the posters and info in the lobby!

I wasn't really sure what to expect before my stay, but I was so pleasantly surprised by Ink48. I had a tricky trip up to NYC in terms of my timing. I had an important video interview that was going to be recorded, but the time for that was at 3pm. That meant that if I checked in on the day of the virtual interview I would be risking the room availability being at the mercy of my check-in time. However, if I checked in the day before the next day check out would have been too early. Additionally, the hotel has very limited common areas to use in general but definitely none that can guarantee a quiet backdrop. I took a gamble and booked for the night before. The person on the phone earlier indicated that there were not late checkouts, but when I arrived the person checking me in was one of the nicest humans I've ever encountered. After a long day and a late night arrival, I told him my predicament (even asked if I could maybe check out on time and then just use a vacant room for 40 mins to take the call) just trying to explore options that wouldn't impact their flow of business. He ended up making note to just allow for a late check-out to immediately follow my call which I was so grateful for! I also ended up lucking out on a room upgrade after booking last minute via Priceline while on the train from DC. When I arrived he told me that the room I had booked had actually sold. Since it wasn't my error and I had already paid, he upgraded me to a super spacious suite! They also have an amazing rooftop bar and lounge that I had been to before, but never realized was affiliated with the hotel. It's massive and has some of the absolute best views of the city. All in all I had an awesome stay, but I think a huge part of it was thanks to the kindness of the person that check-in me when I arrived late in the evening. He really was an angel in disguise and I'm so appreciative that he was so hospitable and accommodating!

Amazing hotel in Hell's Kitchen, we chose it for the location and were blown away by the friendly staff and awesome views. We had a king suite and the bed was really comfortable, and our son had no issues on the couch. The room slept 3 very comfortably. Our room had a fridge and table for two, great tub and awesome shower. We had a great view out of our 15th floor window, If you can, ask for a room with a city view because it is so worth it. The location is really ideal for tourists or those leaving on a cruise. We were 2 blocks from Intrepid and the cruise terminal or about 5 blocks from show theaters and the subway on 50th. Overall, this hotel was a great choice. Would definitely recommend and / or stay here again.

Old sitting armchair furniture badly stained ..but if I sit here and list everything that was not great I'm going to sound like a negative b.. Being fair the well professional staff gave us things that were missing as a staple from the room that I didn't know were able to be provided , such as a Keurig machine in our room- the view is nice , very nice .. the elevators get you to hurry to catch them but at least they are not slow . The staff is friendly but there is a lot to take care of , also there was no pool or rooftop open as shown in the pictures . Coffee was available at 7 along with a decent selection of drinks , no free coffee or bottled water, just bring some money as breakfast items are not included.. the tap water & ice worked and tasted great for us !! - but one thing is the sound of an innocent & incessantly barking dog left to just bark in a nearby room for however long is permissible . Please don't take a stressed dog to a hotel, for the price of the room that we pay no one or the dog deserves this.. management took care to see what the problem was

Had a fabulous time at Ink 48. I rented the Hudson River suit and it was beautiful! Loved the floor-to-ceiling windows and high ceilings.

Great staff, very friendly and a beautiful hotel. If alcohol is a trigger for you, this might not be the spot as there is alcohol to purchase very prominently in the room. It is not an issue for us so not a big deal but it was unusual. The view was there - not great but it was there. Great location for us and we really enjoyed it. We would stay again. Plus the price was excellent. No question a great value in the market.

This is the third year that my team has stayed at this location for a NYC event. Despite the location being convenient for us to attend our event, unfortunately, the team collectively agreed that the hotel has gone downhill and does not hold the same high standard it once did. The restaurant was not available as in years past and various team members indicated that they experienced issues with their room, ranging from issues with the AC to their toilets. It certainly did not help either that while we were there the city chose to shut the water off for maintenance and the next morning the water in the hotel was brown! With so many other hotels in the area, we will be certainly looking elsewhere next year when it's time to book our team reservation.

Good place to stay in Newyork. Close to many car dealerships (if you're shopping for a car) and also to the intrepid museum. The room was big (for NY standards) and the beds were comfy. Everything was clean. There was a mini bar though not sure if the fridge was truly working. No coffee machine but a few good places to eat nearby. There's some street parking. Also there's a nice rooftop bar with good views of the city. Overall it was a good experience.

Such a great find ! Staff from the doorway to the restaurants all friendly and helpful. My room view from 15th floor was fantastic! Very cool rooms with WAY more space than I'm used to in a NY hotel! Check out the rooftop bar - super pricey but amazing and great vibe.

We just stayed at this hotel with our kiddos. It was a great experience. We stayed in the Junior Suite, which was perfect, because it had a king bed for myself and my husband and a pull out sofa bed for our kids. The beds were comfortable and the staff were so nice and accommodating! One of the staff members Stilas was super helpful and kind, a long with Sergios. The location was perfectly close to everything! We will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful stay in New York at Ink 48. We were there for 4 nights. The service and hospitality was what truly elevated our experience. The doormen are so friendly and easy going. Our receptionist was also quite helpful. Made the check in/out process smooth. Our cleaning ladies were also quite sweet to us. The room was a great size and the bathroom was bigger than I expected. We had a great view of the Hudson River and USS intrepid. While we were there, NYC was hit with a lot of rain. The doormen let us borrow one of their hotel umbrellas to shield us. It was a thoughtful gesture that really made a difference with our experience. Would recommend this hotel to everyone!

The stay at Ink 48 Hotel was painfully disappointing. At first, things seemed great. We came early to check our bags and the staff was so kind. When we came back later to check in to our room, the staff had changed. We weren't greeted, and when finally "helped" it took an extremely long time for him to check us in. "All 3 of you are in one room together," he said in a snarky manner. Myself, my sister, and my mom - yeah. The 3 of us in one room. That's why we booked with 2 beds. My suspicions tell me that the lengthy time he took to check us in following that snark was him switching our room to someplace less desirable. He clearly didn't like us. Was it race? Was it class? I can't be sure. We got into our room, and were underwhelmed but it didn't seem to be so bad. Then, we looked closer. Dirty napkins behind the lamp, stains on the carpet, stains on the wall, a broken bathroom door, water that didn't warm up, and loud harbor and construction noises. We called down to the lobby and instead got reservations. We told them our issues and they said they would get back to us. My mom, who is coming off of surgery, was exhausted from a long day in NYC, fell asleep within the HOURS it took for someone to contact us. Eventually, they called and I told them that she's unfortunately asleep so we will have to stick it out. We got out of there in the morning as quickly as we could. We didn't look back and never will again. I've stayed at many hotels in NYC, and this has been the worst.

There is no breakfast but a coffee stand, no coffee or tea in room. Nothing much around it. Close to Pier for cruise ships.

It did the job for a short NY trip but I won't be back. So so noisy. Had to sleep with my EarPods in to block the outside noise. Sirens all night every night and there's a super loud cantina with a rooftop bar that blares music across the street. Also no coffee at the hotel. No coffee maker in the room. No microwave. The fridge was stocked with so much over priced minibar junk we had to take that all out to put our leftovers in it. Shower/bathroom was so tiny. This was my 7th trip to NY. This was by far my least favorite hotel stay. Also it's not very close to a subway entrance and that's a real inconvenience. Staff were nice that was the best part. Room wasn't cleaned as well as it should have been - we found a former guests bracelet on the floor and a long hair in the bathroom upon arrival. I'll stay elsewhere next time.

Nice hotel in Hells Kitchen, walking distance from everything. Rooftop bar is a major plus to the hotel.

Underwhelming stay. Staff lack polish, though some are friendly. Overnight staff blaring audio at the front desk and looking checked out. Lack of amenities. To add insult to injury, I was charged $45 a night in amenity fees, even though I was entitled to faster wifi and other amenities per my Amex Plat perk. Even without that perk, this fee is unacceptable because 1) they don't provide any amenities, no free water, no real front desk to help you, no OTC meds, literally nothing; and 2) they didn't even tell me about this charge. The second issue is super sketchy and is called drip pricing, which is unethical. On the plus side, the food and bar were exceptional. However, this hotel gets two stars because it is asking for a higher rate than it deserves. The quality and service are simply lacking, and the hotel is oblique in its practices. As a side note, the unaffiliated rooftop bar gives an amazing view of the city. But you do not have to interact with the hotel to access this rooftop bar.

It was first time sitting at this hotel and I found it very nice. We have dined at the Print restaurant and we were very satisfied. Also the Press Lounge offered great New York views and delicious cocktails.

When I checked into my room someone else's stuff was in the room. I alerted the front desk and they assured me it was an oversight of house keeping. At 2am the previous guests accessed my room & opened the door to retrieve their items. The hotel has yet to rectify the situation despite their own operational failures and poor security. It is terrifying that previous guests have WORKING key cards.

We stayed at Ink 48 this summer on a short trip to New York and loved the experience! We were greeted by Ryan at the front desk who was friendly, informative and the perfect amount of familiar to make us feel at home. The prices were reasonable for the convenient Hell's Kitchen location- we used the fine hotel credit through Amex Platinum and saved $200. The rooftop bar was such a perfect way to start our evening and take in the great NYC scenery. Comfortable rooms and a great stay all around. Would absolutely return.

Did a staycation. Rented two rooms as a group. Curtains in a penthouse room were broken and would not properly close. Sun woke you up at 7am every day. We asked them to repair it every day but issue was never addressed. After more intense complaining, a manager threatened to kick us out. Manager was cold and icy after that. Curtain was never remedied no apology or offer of a room change. Hotel is in a decent location of Hell's Kitchen close to restaurants bars and coffee shops. Rates are around $300 a night.

I'm sorry this hotel is not a 4 star hotel. Walked into the first reserved room they gave me, the entire room smelled like straight up weed yet they had pushed a notification as early as that morning that my room was assigned? Second room was just dirty but the sheets look seemingly clean ironically enough as well as the towels. However, there are these huge dark dust stains on the cotton window panel coverings. Inside the room it's so loud the window insulation is horrible it sounds like I left the window open but the window is closed. The wall insulation is terrible, could hear a couple having sex so loud through the other side of the wall. Chairs and items throughout the room to just sit on are all dirty with dirt stains on it. Didn't even know where I could flop my suitcase open on because there's dust accumulating through all the surfaces and random items in the room. The bathrooms don't have bathroom fans..... literally the strangest thing I've ever heard. So when you're showering and want the fan to cut through the condensation its just a cloud. Same for when just using the restroom, there's no fan so ladies, if you're with your guy and want to keep it discreet this hotel will not be it for you, lol. Carpet floor is filthy, how the hell is there this much dirt visible at a "4- star hotel?" Hotel premises The hotel upkeep is minimal. The carpet throughout the property was for sure from the 80s and looks old. Dust is accumulating all throughout the main seating areas of the hotel, when you get off the elevator there are these sitting nooks and they're like accumulating a film of straight up dust. All my pics attached are from summer 2021. I absolutely would not recommend staying this hotel. Maybe they upkeeps the rooms on floors 11 to the rooftop because those ones get a view? Im on floor 9 and its not at all worth a second return.

Had booked a room with the family and told they didn't have room. Ryan Shafi, manager failed to respond to concerns and no refund as yet. Shameless. Don't waste your money.

Loved my short stay here! Highly recommend. Last month, my friend and I were looking for a nice hotel for a quick weekend getaway. We were actually planning to attend an event nearby and literally a few days before, they moved it to a venue in Queens. No thanks! We ended up keeping our reservation here and finding other things to do. I had looked up several hotels on Yelp and this one stood out. I don't regret choosing here. Not cheap but worth it! And walking distance to many bars and restaurants. Can't beat that. Despite our original plans having to change, we made the most of our time here. I was visiting from the DC area and my friend lives in Philly. This was my first time in Hell's kitchen. I'd come back! The double room was spacious for a New York city hotel. Trust me, I've stayed in many that were like half this size. Even the bathroom was pretty big. There's a well stocked mini bar! Loved the city skyline views from the room. The rooftop bar here is amazing. I would literally come back just for that. It was freezing cold but I still enjoyed the breathtaking views. It's a reason to come back during the warmer months. I did a separate review (it's under Press Lounge). The staff I encountered were all very friendly. My only "issue" was on the day of checkout, there was a knock on the door very early in the morning from the maid. She was ready to clean the room and kick us out. LOL It wasn't even 9 a.m. yet. She said "I understand you're checking out today." Yes we were but not yet. She was very apologetic and said she'd come back later. Other than that, nothing to complain about.

Had to cancel my reservation because my friend was confirmed positive for COVID. I called immediately after knowing, they told me the card wouldn't be charged because of their new policy, and I had nothing to worry about. 2 weeks from the day I booked the reservation, my card was charged 331 dollars (price of the room for one night). I called several times, lines were busy, told to call back, one time I was told their system was down, and many more excuses. I called back **6th** time today, and was told to email their accounting team to get the refund processed. Why didn't they tell me this 2 weeks ago? I know it's a hard time for everyone, but this is completely inexcusable. Unprofessional and inconsiderate.

Stayed for 2 nights and it was alright. Not really close to subways so that was a bummer. Room was decent sized albeit in need of a renovation/tech upgrade for both the room and bathroom. Not a memorable stay and definitely not on the list of would stay again. Another weird thing was when my group was in the lobby about to head to the airport and an employee offered to call a taxi for us as it would there in 5 min and was a flat fee of 80-85 with tip included. We accepted as we were in a hurry and Uber was about $90. The taxi proceeded to take 15 min to arrive and it was super jank. Driving was extremely rough and was then was told at drop off that it was $90 and tip was not included. Not worth it.

I cannot praise the experience my wife and I had at this electric and chic hotel in the city. I mean... where had this been all my life??? It's almost worth JUST staying here from here on in; THAT'S how awesome of a time we had! I'm a little late to write my review; we stayed in October -- during the Food and Wine Festival, which was in and of itself a wonderful time. Yet Ink48 was the topper on an already extraordinary weekend! This is exactly what a hotel ought to be! The best, best feature this hotel had was its rooftop bar; the vista was deliciously inebriating all on its own! Fantastic drinks too. They were on the expensive end, but, alas, that's that when it comes to restaurant bars. The room itself was extremely comfortable and met my every need and then some. And the price was excellent! I cannot ask for more! I most certainly will be coming back to Ink49; you can count on it! I think you should give the your business, IMHO!

The rooftop bar is a joke. There is a dress code posted but depending on who is working, that's who determines if you get in or not. I went 2 nights in a row and was denied entry. When I questioned it, they stated the manager made the rules. I asked for the manager and was refused that as well. Instead of worrying about a dress code, they should spend more time on the cleanliness of their rooms. Don't waste your $$. New York has a million other hotels with better service.

It's okay. Hit and miss. What they get right is friendly staff willing to accommodate. What they get wrong is the under 21 rule for the roof top, the non-private bathrooms, the outrageously over priced mini bar and lack of basic appliances in the room, like coffee pots. I don't recommend this place for families but if you're with all adults and the person you're rooming with doesn't mind knowing everything you're doing in the bathroom, then you may like it.

Visited the rooftop bar with a friend on a Tuesday to catch the views during sunset hour. Upon entering I've soon come to realize that this place actually used to be the Press Lounge. All the signage and napkins/etc still had the old name and logos. When I arrived, it was surprisingly emptier than expected. They had some smooth jazz playing in the background, giving it a very chill atmosphere. You can either lounge on the edge of the pool (the sides light up at night!) or find a couch/seating area to sip on a drink. The rooftop was very casual and spacious, which made it really nice to enjoy the view of the sunset. You should expect to spend at least $15-18 on a cocktail (typical Manhattan rooftop prices). Once it started getting a little busier in the evening, it took a little while before I got to order my drinks (there were only 2 bartenders serving the entire rooftop). It was very cool being able to sit back and relax and watch as the Manhattan skyline get just a tad darker by the hour.

I stayed here 11 years ago and loved it. That said, I'm turning directly to my current poor rating. They did not turn down the room and were unapologetic about it. I understand they are short on staff, but new towels and sheets are pretty standard in a hotel. I left at 8am and returned at 8pm. Nothing had been done in my room. The worst part was that the staff told me that there was nothing they could do to help me or refund me. So I'm left with this hotel is heading downhill at an accelerating speed with homeless people camped outside throwing food at you and staff that don't care about your stay. Thanks guys. I'll go to the four seasons next time or do an air bnb. At least then I know what I'm paying for and what to expect.

Customers please beware of hidden fees that the hotel is not upfront about. I had stayed at the hotel several months ago. Initially the hotel room I was assigned was dirty when I walked in with an unkempt bed. Thankfully the hotel upgraded me. I check out and the front desk says nothing but when I check my credit card statement, I have been charged almost $150. Despite multiple calls the hotel refuses to respond. They finally send me a bill which demonstrates the fees I have paid with Priceline but are getting charged again. Finally I am charged with a minibar charge even though we didn't touch anything from the minibar.

One of the worst or the worst. Terrible staff and terrible noisy room. Would implore you to look elsewhere but you can take the risk and see for yourself

We did like this hotel, a lot! Coming here twice a year since 12years.... The management of this place is now pretty unethical, sloppy room care, and robots sitting at the front desk!! They charge $8!!! for a mini bottle of water in the room, and a never seen before $40!! Hotel fee...(daily) which doesn't show up in any confirmation! It means they propose you a price, but you pay almost the double with all the taxes and surcharges...a shame!! Discussions with people there go nowhere... as they are absolutely ignorant! Sad! Think twice before you book!

Decided to stay here for the first time, and boy did we pick the right ONE! This hotel was such a perfect stay for a girls trip and located in Hell's Kitchen great area to get around anywhere. Absolutely loved everything including the super nice and professional staff. The front desk person (can't remember her name) was so friendly and helpful in recommendations and anything we needed. Also great decor and super clean rooms! I think our room was very spacious and quite comfortable having all the amenities that we needed on our stay. I loved walking everywhere from here. We didn't really need much transportation as we walked something like 20,000 steps everyday and were not tired. We enjoy our daily walks to these places Hudson Yards, Times Square, and Central Park. We also ate at their restaurant Print and both food and drinks were divine. Still reminiscing of their Duck plate as well as the Vodka cocktail West Coast Wedding. Last but not least, we enjoyed the rooftop Press Lounge! You can't not check this out as they have intoxicating views of the city. I am definitely recommending a visit to this beautiful hotel in NYC!!!

This place is a joke. Dirty. Charge mini bar without authorization. No access to the roof top. I came in this place 10 years ago and it was a different service. Now this hotel is managed by GUETTO PEOPLE.

Horrible service! They were supposed to book us for a whole week but had to move us to a different hotel, in the middle of the week. The transfer was done in a super unorganized way. We showed up ar Sheraton and they didn't have any confirmation, we called them with no response at the front desk. Had to uber back and they just made the reservation then. They also double chraged us and different people at the front desk would give conflicting accounts on every single question about the double charging, or rebooking at Sheraton.

I recently stayed here to attend a wedding. I was pleasantly surprised that my AAA rate was cheaper than the wedding group rate, so I ended up going that route. The rooms are beautiful - modern decor, white linens, and we had a nice view of the river. My siblings each had their own rooms next door and the layouts were slightly different in each (ours had a bigger bathroom, theirs had a bigger bedroom), but all rooms were equally beautiful. We were far from the elevator, so it was really quiet. The rooms have a pretty sweet mini-bar selection, although we didn't indulge because everything was pricey (full bottles of vodka, tequila... water, KIND bars, PopChips, mini bottles of alcohol, corkscrew, soda, 'lovers kit' hahaha). I've never seen full bottles of alcohol in a hotel! A week before the wedding, I called to confirm our 4 rooms and had a wonderful conversation with Justin - he found us an even BETTER deal than we were originally paying, so I was super happy. Akil was also very helpful with his texts upon check-in, asking if we needed anything. All of the staff that we encountered were wonderful. We paid $221 for a king room ($263 with tax). For a NYC room, it was LARGE and cheap! I was in shock!!!!! The lobby has fruit-infused water and iced tea for guests, and from 5-6 there is a happy hour with free wine. A really nice touch. The wedding was on the rooftop at The Press Lounge, and the passed around food was delicious. The staff was very accommodating, and one of the wait staff even made a plate of appetizers for my grandmother so she didn't have to stand/wait in line.

My husband decided to reserve a room at this hotel for my 40th birthday. When my husband initially checked into the room he noticed that the room was different from what he booked online. He went to the front desk and was greeted by DK. DK looked into the issue and was able to resolve the problem by upgrading our room. The upgrade to the room was amazing. We had a wonderful view of the city. The room was spacious and the service was great. An added bonus is the rooftop bar& lounge . Overall if you are looking for a hotel in the city with a beautiful view , this is the place. We will be back.

One of the surest measures of a hotel's attention to detail is whether the tv clicker works. If the hotel staff doesn't bother to check it, there will be other things wrong. The clicker in my room (609) at Ink48 didn't work. The large blinds were torn on one side and broken on the other, The fabric of the couch had a 9-inch tear. The armchair had blue stains. The soap dish had been used as an ashtray and had burn marks. On the plus side, the room's AC worked well and the bed was comfortable. But I wouldn't stay here again. There are too many other hotels in the city that do pay attention to detail.

Last night, my husband and I brought my mom (who was visiting us in NYC) to the rooftop bar. The bartender was very rude to all the people in line waiting to close their tabs. There was a bald guy yelling at everyone who sat at tables that were reserved (even though they didn't have a reserved sign on them.) It really killed the vibe. The view isn't worth it. There are much nicer rooftops with a better view that have a much nicer staff.

The room had burn marks in the carpet and mismatched towel. Besides those issues the hotel was better than other places in Hell's Kitchen. Hotel didn't have a conference vibe like a lot of hotels I've stayed in the area. They have free bikes to check out the city. Front desk staff friendly and helpful although calling from your room to contact the front desk was a pain. I suggest going to the front desk if you have questions so you aren't rerouted 2-3 times during a call. The location is great and overall the hotel is a perfect size to get in and out of your room without waiting for an elevator or trekking to get to bed.

We figured we would take a last minute trip to New York City over the long Memorial Day weekend. Since we have a $200 credit through American Express, we decided to book through their portal. When searching for hotels, we stumbled upon Ink 48 and by all accounts, it seemed like the perfect little spot to stay while we were in town - rates were reasonable, they are part of the American Express Hotel Collection (upgrade if available and $100 on-site hotel credit), and decently close to everything we were looking to visit when in town. Ink 48 has a few different room types. We went through each room carefully and decided to book the King Premium room based on the description and pictures provided by the marketing team on Ink 48's website and the American Express site. Since we took a red eye, we were hoping & praying for a potential early check-in so we could take a quick nap before venturing out. By the time our plan landed, the hotel had already sent us a notification that our room was ready! It looked as though things were going our way! When we arrived at the hotel, we asked the front desk if there was any potential for any upgrade. Sadly, we were told that there was, but we would be charged for it. This was a bit of a shock, but decided to let it be until later since we were tired and not looking for any argument. Outside of that, the front desk staff member was super nice. We proceeded to our room and found that the room we had been given was nothing like what was described or pictured on Ink 48's website or American Express' travel portal. We took a quick nap and then proceeded on with our day since we had activities that were at specific times. When we returned to the hotel, we asked the new front desk lady about the room and she wasn't super pleasant to interact with. She let us know that the room shown on the website has only a few rooms that look like that and they are reserved for VIP guests who stay with the hotel frequently. She told us that she would move us, but they were 100% full for the night. We went back up to the room and while looking up review to see if others had experienced the same type of issue noted that the hotel still had plenty of rooms open still for our days of stay. During this same time, we had also noticed that the headboard was covered with what we can only assume was something from someone having a super happy evening of fun with someone else. Since the front desk didn't seem to be able to help or even really explain why things were not as advertised, we decided to reach out to the General Manager (Nick) who we noticed replies to most reviews in a quick and timely manner. Nick was 100% on the ball and willing to help explain the situation and offered to upgrade us at no cost to the Junior Suite (which is the next room type up it appears). Nick even agreed the descriptions and pictures were not really accurate for that room type. We moved into the new room the next day and it was night/day different than the room we originally were assigned. The beds and pillows were super comfortable. Make sure you pick up some cups from the front desk as the hotel has removed everything from the rooms. The bathroom products smelled great (might even buy some for home), and the spa like shower was wonderful to stand in when getting ready for the morning. We did take advantage of the $100 credit by using the Print restaurant in the lobby. We shared an egg sandwich which was pretty tasty. You don't need to order via the website, you can walk in and order at the counter and they will deliver it to you. Lastly, if you are planning to use the subway, this hotel is a bit of a walk (about 10 minutes or so) to the closest terminal. Otherwise, you can easily hail a cab right outside if needed. Overall, while the room situation was a bit of a failure, Nick and Anthony did an excellent service recovery on a holiday weekend. We enjoyed staying at Ink 48 and would recommend you trying it out.

Planning a trip to NYC can be difficult, especially when it comes to booking a decent hotel for a decent price. On a recent trip, I really wanted to stay at a hotel in Hells Kitchen and searched a bunch of hotels. A lot of them didn't work out for me, as they didn't have valet service to keep my car, but I happened to stumble on Kimpton Ink48, and they seemed to embody what I was looking for. They offered valet parking, the hotel seemed cleaned and polished, and it was right in Hells Kitchen. It only got better from there, as Kimpton Ink48 is located on the outskirts of NYC, and it was COMPLETELY accessible for those that are scared to drive in NYC. I'm definitely not the best driver, but Kimpton Ink48 was incredibly easy to get to, and their valet parking is extremely easy to access as well. The front end of the hotel is nicely decorated and the staff is very welcoming and nice. The hotel has a restaurant called Print, which is located in the front of the hotel, and they also have a rooftop bar that is accessible from the elevators. Check in was easy and we were in our room within 5 minutes of getting there! The rooms are super clean and spacious with an expansive bathroom. The beds are also comfortable, and the windows outlook the cityscape of NYC. The restaurant, Print, is upscale with some really good small plates and main dishes. The rooftop bar was BY FAR the best part. It had impeccable views of the city, and it was a great place to start each night. Also, the hotel hosts a complementary wine hour from 5-6pm, so don't miss out on that! Overall, I had an amazing experience at Kimpton Ink48. I definitely plan on coming back on my next trip to NYC!

we booked a room on March 30 for our July trip. when we showed up on July 22, they informed us that in the last week they had "inadvertently" overbooked and was having to "walk" us. when we asked why they were relocating us and not the people who had been booked within the last week, I was informed there were over 15 other reservations they were "walking". at first we were open to this until they manager informed us they would be arranging accommodations at a hotel on the other side of town. they refused to get us transportation there or to refund us the difference between the room we paid for and the room at the hotel we would be moved to.

I understand why they only have 2 stars. $700+ a night and the hotel offers no help with luggage, a single person checking people in, no one to run food up to rooms from deliveries and oh...not even room service (though there is a fake out "in-room dining" button on the phones). The rooms are configured incredibly weird - my bed faces the door. It was barely made when I arrived. To add insult to injury, this hotel doesn't believe in service apparently. I never got a refill of toilet paper or bottled water during my entire five nights stay. I had to call down to management every morning. I do appreciate the manager waiving the resort fee as...this was far from a resort. The view could not be worse. Shall I go on...? Will never stay here again.

Our stay at the Kimpton was delightful. The staff members were courteous, well-mannered, and polite. We had a gorgeous view of the city from our room!

The best things about our stay was the large bathroom, Jeffrey(my mom says it was Jeremy so not sure anymore) the engineer and the door men. We got to the hotel super early, around 7am. We just wanted to leave our bags and walk around until check in. They actually let us check in early for a fee. I had an AMEX credit so the front desk person let me use it for that. They upgraded our room as well. So if you book with American Express they'll upgrade you to a suite if they have the rooms available. Yay for that! The bed was huge and comfy. My mom slept on the pull out bed because she insisted. She said she slept so good on the pull out bed. Our second day 12/15/21 when we got back to the room we noticed it was hot but we turned off the thermostat when we left. It was 76°F and going up. The heater wouldn't turn off in the bedroom. I called and that's when Jeffrey/Jeremy came to fix it. He was so apologetic about it. We were not mad, we just didn't want to melt in our sleep. The thermostat was only reading one room and not the other. So he fixed it by turning off the second room fan on the main ac unit. We had one room fan on and the other off. We were able to control the temperature again. It was temporary until maintenance could get to it the next day while we went out. Before we left I told the the very nice guy at the front desk we would be out and about so they could work on it. We came back and the room was hot once again. We called the front desk and they weren't aware of what was happening so they took off our early check in fee so my credit went to our hotel bill. They offered to move us to another suite but we were leaving the next day so there was no point. I figured out how to open the windows to cool the main bedroom down. It was 80° in the room. Jeffrey/Jeremy came a couple hours later. Super apologetic about it happening again. He saw that maintenance just turned on the other part of the ac unit that he turned off thinking that was the problem but honestly it just made it worse. He did the same thing as the night before. We all started talking and he told us how much he loves doing what he does and to not hesitate to ask for him again if something else was wrong. He deserves nothing but good things in his life. Now on to the bathroom. It was freaking huge! I sat in the bathtub and the edge was where my shoulders are! The shower had a fountain shower head and water jet things on the side. The service could have been more friendlier at Print restaurant. We went for breakfast two times and the cappuccino was fantastic and they have these chocolate hazelnut bombolonis that were to die for!!! Now for last, the door men. THEY WERE ALL SO HELPFUL AND SO NICE!!! I wish I got his name but the door man that was working on 12/17/21 around 4:40pm deserves a raise! We had checked our bags in earlier so we could go explore one last time. When we came to get our bags we sat in the lobby trying to figure out if we were going to Uber/Lyft or take the train to JFK. He came to talk to us and mentioned they have a car service that could take us for about $95. Uber/Lyft were charging around $116-$130 plus whatever extra fees they add on since New York has abunch of fees for congestion and all that and tip of course. We got a car and the door man was asking sure we had plenty of time because the card would take 10-15 minutes. We weren't in a rush. We made time to get to the air port. But he carried all four of our luggage bags and a back pack with no problem to the car! We had already given him $7 for getting our bags and wish we had more cash to give him but that was the last of our cash. They should carry a thing so we can tip with a debit/credit card. Haha. Definitely our next trip we're going to find him and give him another tip and a gift for Jeffrey for being the highlights of our trip!!

Covid is a tough time for all businesses and I completely empathize. My own job in a service industry was eliminated, so trust me - I get it. Passing through NYC to visit other parts of New England was a much needed break. Ink 48 looked nice online and we looked forward to trying a different hotel this visit. No valet? Understandable because of Covid and a good business move for safety. We happily self parked. I'll give the good things first. The room was big and furnishings cool. The bathroom was also big with a nice shower and two sinks. Good there. That's pretty much it. The desk agent was lackluster when we checked in and didn't seem to like her job. (8/26 at @ 4:30pm). Any time we walked through the empty lobby, she looked up yet didn't even give a customary "Good evening" to us when we walked through the lobby for dinner. That's hospitality 101. Always Acknowledge your guests. The room was stripped of any hospitality minibar snacks. Again, that's quite ok considering. But no cups, water bottles or anything? Disposable would have been fine! Do they cost that much? We walked several blocks at 10pm to fetch water because the hotel had none to offer or even available for purchase. No empathy shown. Just a flat "we don't have that". Not acceptable. I'll attach a picture of the stained carpet and super dirty decorative pillow in our room. Pretty gross. I normally have good impressions from Kimpton properties. I no longer have them. The stay was very disappointing. I'd love to have a job in front desk hospitality. It's about making people feel welcome, good, safe and cared for.
