"Malta’s Inland Sea is a small, almost entirely landlocked lagoon whose shores are lined with small fishing boats. Incredibly, on days when the sea is calm, these boats are able to leave the sheltered harbor through a small crack in the cliffs that separate the lagoon from the Mediterranean Sea. The local fishermen increase their profits by also transporting visitors through this natural arch to view the steep limestone cliffs that surround the inlet. The area is dotted with curious rock formations to explore, such as the Fungus Rock and the Azure Window ruins (the Azure Window has sadly recently collapsed). The Inland Sea is not very deep, and you can see many small fish swimming below the surface. It is also an ideal place to dive, because it is easy to swim through the cave out into the Mediterranean, where the depth of the water plunges to 164 feet (50 meters) near the cliffs." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

Boat rides through the cave and out to the sea don't run on days when the sea is rough. It is still possible to swim in the inland sea as the area is sheltered. There is short stretch of beach with large and small pebbles. The rocks are loose and the surface is uneven and can be a hazard. The slippery stones adds some difficulties when getting in and out of the water. The area is largely unsheltered. Maybe we missed it but we didn't find any beach chairs or parasols for rent. Most people found some shade under the steps of the small buildings in front of the beach but there, access is limited.

A great place to visit. The big rock in the 8th pic has a purple mushroom that is only found there and is protected. The tour of the cave is done by the local fishermen and you go through the cave to sea and back

This "hidden" inland sea looks very beautiful, but it is also the starting point for one of the many boat trips you can make along the coast. Nevertheless, a nice destination (for paddling p.e.)!

We came here quite by chance, didn’t even know about this opportunity. Boat ride through cave to the other side od klifs was so amazing experience, only for 5€. This 20minutes ride was our best to do thing on this island.

Uphill Dwejra, we find a cave.Is not advertised like Tal Mixta cave, the view from the cave straight to Fungus Rock. Bit for a crazy climbers!

Nicer place to swim after visiting the Blue Hole. Shallow and warm water. It looks like a lake but it has a tunnel that connects it with a sea. You can swim in that tunnel and it’s great when it’s windy and there’s a lot of waves outside.

A must visit to see fossilized sea shells and corals. The area rock formation is of the oldest on Cyprus.

Nice place even if crowded with tourists. We did not take the boat but swimmed thru the tunnel. Stay on the side and grip the rocks when a boat is crossing. On the other side, the ocean and some jelly fishes but harmless. Amazing experience, better than the boat trip to my opinion. Just be careful and for good swimmer. No spot to rest, even on the other side.
