The Best Hotels in Bangkok

"Inside a four-story shophouse building in Rattanakosin, a tranquil oasis on the river comes at an exceptional price—with spacious rooms, custom amenities, rain showers, and cloud-like beds on reclaimed wooden frames. Revived in 2013, a careful hand retained the old former warehouse building's accents (smooth concrete floors and walls, exposed pipes, and tall shutter-styled doors) while adding in artistic creature comforts, like downy mattresses with soft, percale sheets; great hair dryers; and sweet-smelling bath amenities. The property was transformed into nine rooms, each named for an hour in the day when the view is best from that vantage. Awake in the 8AM Room, throw the weathered doors wide and enjoy coffee on your private terrace, as amber morning light falls over beautiful, tropical foliage planted along the railing. Or, opt for the 5PM Room, where the sun sinks against the slowly lapping edges of the Chao Phraya river, turning the waters a brilliant gold. The aromas of freshly ground coffee wafting up are enough to pull you down the small staircase to the lobby, where deep chairs are meant for flopping and staying. The small food menu changes regularly based on what the cooks got at the market that day; there are craft cocktail bars, bookshops, art galleries, and quaint spas in the neighborhood as well." - Jenny Adams

Inn A Day

"Why book? Inside a four-story shophouse building, a tranquil oasis on the river comes at an exceptional price, with spacious rooms, custom amenities, rain showers and cloud-like beds on reclaimed wooden frames. Set the scene An edgy design, with industrial charm and Brooklyn-style appeal, the hotel speaks to those who packed for a trip that would include both off-road adventures and spa treatments, days lounging in a hammock and others spent in a helicopter. The draw of staying here is a location in one of the oldest sections of the city, yet far removed from the backpacker nexus of Khao San Road. Inn A Day is a fine choice for the 30-something to 40-something adventure traveler set looking for a vibe-y scene in a city center, but still after what authentically makes Bangkok tick. In the main floor lobby space, a coffee/cocktail counter keeps things lively. Inn A Day’s service is as warm and inviting as the craft espressos they perfect from gleaming, steaming machines. The backstory Open since 2013, the property remains a top choice in an area that’s gained a great deal of traction for hoteliers in the last decade. The antiquated, four-story shophouse, right on the river facing Wat Arun, was transformed into nine rooms, each named for an hour in the day when the view is best from that vantage. The rooms Right on top of a fresh industrial revival trend in 2013, Inn A Day is still interesting by design nearly ten years later. A careful hand retained the old former warehouse building's accents (smooth concrete floors and walls, exposed pipes, and tall shutter-styled doors) while adding in artistic creature comforts, like downy mattresses with soft, percale sheets; great hair dryers; and sweet-smelling bath amenities. Each room offers a great view 24/7, but particularly at that hour it's named after. Awake in the 8AM Room, throw the weathered doors wide and enjoy breakfast on your private terrace, as amber morning light falls over beautiful, tropical foliage planted along the railing. Or, opt for the 5PM Room, where the sun sinks against the slowly lapping edges of the Chao Phraya river, turning the waters a brilliant gold. All rooms, with the exception of one, feature private outdoor space. Food and drink You’ll never miss your barista back home while staying here. The aromas of freshly ground coffee wafting up are enough to pull you down the small staircase to the lobby, where deep chairs are meant for flopping and staying. The small food menu changes regularly, based on what the cooks got at the market that day. The neighborhood/area This eye-shaped neighborhood is called Rattanakosin Island; it’s bordered on one side by the river and on the other by large canals dug to protect the royal palaces from Burmese invasion back in the late 1700s. Warehouses and government buildings now host serious business, but also more lighthearted, tourist-appealing things like craft cocktail bars, bookshops, art galleries, and quaint spas. Rattanakosin is particularly beautiful for taking a walk at 6am or 9pm, as the reflective tiles on the temples catch the sunlight or the moonlight. The service The staff here is friendly and gregarious, but petite and understandably busy. Don’t expect a ton of hand-holding or big pre-packaged tours. However, if you find something online you’d like to do, they are handy with making you a hand-drawn map as well as translating over the phone when booking a restaurant table or lining up a bike tour. Accessibility Narrow stairs and no rooms on the first floor." - Jenny Adams

Completely overwhelmed by the quality and position of this hotel. Best location on the river by far. Views at sunset and dawn cannot be fully appreciated by photos. The staff are all amazing and a credit to the owners. Cannot recommend this place enough. Do yourself a favour and check it out, stay if you can or visit for food and drinks on the rooftop

I recently visited your rooftop bar and would like to share some feedback from my experience. During my visit, I was not aware beforehand that there was a minimum spend policy of one drink per person. It is not that I was unwilling to pay, but while I was still deciding, my friend suggested that we continue our evening elsewhere. As a result, I only ordered one drink. When it came to settling the bill, the lady staff informed me that I would still be charged for two drinks. (She looks unhappy to service) While I understand and respect your policy, I feel it would have been very helpful if this minimum spend requirement had been communicated clearly from the beginning. This way, guests can make an informed decision and avoid any misunderstanding. That being said, I would also like to compliment your males staff members, who was very polite and attentive. I was going to leave without having a second drink that being charged (not because I’m upset but we’re decide to visit more places around the area before it’s getting too late) they both kindly suggested that I stay a little longer and enjoy another drink before leaving, which I truly appreciated. Their service left a very positive impression on me.

• The staff on the ground floor were excellent — very attentive and professional. Unfortunately, I cannot remember his name (a big gentleman working around the bar), but he left a great impression.| • While waiting to go up to the rooftop at 16:30, I ordered food worth around 600 THB. The food was delicious.| • Unfortunately, it started raining that day, so instead of the rooftop, I was directed to sit on the 4th floor (which is normally closed, but was opened due to the rain).| • I was expecting to enjoy my drink comfortably with a nice view, but my experience on the 4th floor was disappointing. The male staff there did not seem welcoming at all. He tried to move me to the outdoor area even though it was raining, and spoke to me in a loud and unfriendly manner.| • It appeared as though he wanted to reserve the 4th floor only for a VIP table that was celebrating a birthday, which made me feel unwelcome as a regular guest.| • He mentioned that there was a table with an umbrella outside for photos, but ironically the 4th floor itself (with the glass panels) had a beautiful photo spot without the rain.| • After this, his service towards me was very poor.

Absolutely loved my stay here! The view was breathtaking — truly one of the highlights of my trip. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. Staff were super friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, close to the Old Town and many key attractions in Bangkok. The hotel restaurant was a big surprise — every dish I tried was delicious! Highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Thailand. Totally worth it!

As a frequently return guest, this homey hotel is my most favourite staycation venue in Bangkok. I got a chance to revisit this hotel right after the owner family resumes their operation after thoughtful renovation. The atmosphere remains warmest as ever. All rooms get equipped with premium mattress&beddings, toiletries and stylish hairdryers, which definitely offset my usual habits of carrying my own Dyson hairdryer and bath towel. Besides, free drinking water provided outweighs many hotels I’ve stayed, and the bedside power plugs are quite user-friendly. I got confused whether I’ve stayed at a high-end resort beyond the hotel’s boutique concept. I ended up spending a whole day at Inn A Day, dining at Mugjee (downstairs restaurant) and chilling after sunset on their chic rooftop bar. No doubt, if anyone adores the view of Bangkok’s hottest iconic Wat Arun like me, you will find no other hotels in Wat Pho area excel Inn A Day’s from various perspectives. I would always prioritise my staycation at Inn A Day and I wish their future guests would feel impressed beyond what I wrote down here😊

Spent New Year's Eve 2025 in their revamped rooftop bar and it was a truly wonderful experience! Amazing view, friendly and fun staff, great cocktails, cool atmosphere, good value for money. Went to the restaurant the night before and had a great meal. They made me a vegetarian dish from scratch which I really appreciated. They'll do whatever they can to give you a good experience. Not to be missed!

Our stay at Inn A Day was absolutely unforgettable. The location is unbeatable—literally right across the river from Wat Arun, with views that are stunning both day and night. From our room, we could watch the temple light up in the evening and boats passing by during the day—magical. The room was beautifully designed: a large, comfortable king bed, rain shower with glass door, a cozy bench for relaxing, and plenty of space for luggage. Service and hospitality were truly 5-star—warm, attentive, and thoughtful. Breakfast was excellent each morning, with the option to dine in the restaurant or have it delivered to the room (both offering amazing views). The rooftop bar is also a hidden gem. The location made exploring easy—just a 3-minute walk to the ferry for Wat Arun, directly across from Wat Pho, 10 minutes to Chinatown, and surrounded by cafes and restaurants. Yet at night it was peaceful and serene. This hotel deserves far more recognition than it gets. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Bangkok.

Went for drinks in the rooftop bar. Wasn’t a problem even with 2 kids. Stayed for sunset which was stunning with the temple in the background. Had a minimum spend of 1500 for a table right at the front overlooking the river. Easily spent after some food and drinks. Would go again.
