The property is just beautiful! Its an elegant Inn with stunning views. The rooms are each unique and feel luxurious. The staff is our favorite part. So friendly and professional. We are particularly fond of Innkeeper David!!! |The special NYE dinner is unlike anything we have found anywhere else! It's so fun to get dressed up !! |The tasting room is a fun excursion. We always leave with wines to take home. |Breakfast is also out of this world. Creative, delicious and plentiful!!

We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived. David and Rachel immediately knew who we were. The room was awesome and the stay felt like we were staying with friends. The breakfasts were spectacular and Kristen was a great chef and friendly as well. We can’t recommend any more highly. I see why it is so well rated and regarded. There are only 10 rooms so it feels like it is your own place.

Our stay at Black Star Farms was exactly what we needed! The atmosphere is lovely with beautiful views of the vineyards and farm. Rooms are clean, spacious, quiet and well equipped. We wanted for nothing while we were there. David and Rachel were wonderful and attentive hosts and the chef that prepared our breakfast each morning was creative and very capable. Something that is unique to other places we have stayed is the friendliness of the other people staying there. It was fun to attend the hospitality hour and meet other folks that were enjoying their stay as well. We hope to return soon!

What an amazing experience, as usual! David, and now Rachel, always so friendly and greeting us each time with smiles and conversation, making us feel right at home. Chef Kristen prepared two incredible breakfasts, as those definitely make it worth just waking up for! The trails are nice, and just enough to work that breakfast off, or to take an evening stroll. We absolutely love coming here each year, and just wish we could do it more often! Thank YOU for always making this such a beautiful experience!! 🥰|P.S. The inn is so relaxing and beautiful! The staff was fantastic and made us feel right at home upon arrival. The breakfast was amazing and we loved the little extras like the evening happy hour! The view from the inn is stunning. We loved the close proximity to other eateries and shops. We will absolutely be back!

This is a favorite of ours! Beautiful grounds, great location between Traverse city and Suttons bay, a wonderful suite we stay in that is on the first floor. Also, it's just like home from the demeanor of the Inn Keeper to access to all areas including the library and pub, with plush leather seating and decor reminiscent of a classic fox hunting lodge. Breakfasts are special and delicious. Wine tasting room next door, grapes growing alongside, view of the horse pasture and great walking trails. What more could you want??!

The setting is wonderful! The staff is phenomenal! This is our second visit. The Innkeeper, David, is top notch! He is welcoming, knowledgeable and the pleasure he takes in doing his job is an inspiration. We also met the other Innkeeper, Rachel. We didn’t spend much time with her, but she was a pleasure as well. We were in the Castor & Pollux room. It is huge and the sitting area with the fireplace is very cozy. It is also a very quiet room. We booked it again for the same 4 nights next year. Getting to meet other guests and chat with them and David each evening for the complimentary social hour was the highlight of each day. We learned a lot about the Inn and each other. Breakfast each morning was deliciously prepared for us by Chef Kristin. The breakfasts were tasty and generous portions. We spent our days exploring local wineries, distilleries and enjoying the scenery. But most evenings we came back earlier than expected because our comfy, cozy room was waiting for us! We turned on the fireplace and lazily watched a movie or read a book. We highly recommend a quiet winter getaway at Black Star Farms!

Recently visited Black Star Farms Inn and fell in love with it! Purchased an elegant dining, wine tour/tasting, cooking instruction package and really enjoyed it. Inn, food, wine, guest interaction and staff are five stars! Will go back next year!

This property was fantastic. The Inn staff were welcoming and helpful! Our stay came with a wine tasting, and the sommelier was knowledgeable and witty. Breakfast was delicious, and the evening social hour was lots of fun. This place is very close to Sutton bay, and not too far from Traverse City. Coming from San Diego this place exceeded all of my expectations! The photos online don't do this place justice!

Best. Service. Ever. My brother and I took our parents here as a gift for their 50th anniversary. We knew the rooms were lovely and the setting was bucolic. But what we didn't know is that the innkeepers and the proprietor would carefully and unobtrusively look after our every whim. And with such informal goodwill that we truly felt like their number one goal was to make sure we had a wonderful time. Which we did!

Sheer perfection! From start to finish no detail was overlooked. I arrived at 6:00pm, was given a tour, and was swept off to a wine tasting happy hour. Grace was my server and a delightful hostess. She interacted with all the guests and encouraged us to interact with each other, if we were so inclined; which was particularly special for me traveling alone. The wines were delightful and I enjoyed my tasting and the artfully displayed snacks: a beautiful cheese platter, homemade jams, and specially crafted arancini rice balls. I slept comfortably in my room, soft pillows and lovely decor. The room was spotless. I enjoyed the comfy robes. Breakfast-AMAZING!! John is a culinary master and the food was both delicious and lovely! I am a serious foodie and have not had such a delightful breakfast. Absolutely inspiring! The grounds were lovely, I enjoyed petting the horses and the breathtaking views. I can't wait to return in the spring or summer!

Just got back from a over night stay here. My first experience at a bed and breakfast and it was 5 stars all the way. Loved our room. Loved the happy hour with hors d'oeuvres. Loved the whole place. I didnt wany it to end. We will be back for sure. Thank you for a great time for me and my hubby.

From check in to check out, this was an incredible experience. Grace, the inn keeper was so friendly and personable. The property is stunning - great views, cute restaurant, beautiful tasting room. The rooms are nice, clean and cozy. Everything is well maintained and I would highly recommend!!

If you want to come someplace to be pampered and truly feel special - this is the place!! The rooms are wonderful. The staff is great and the location is amazing. The wine tasting adds to the whole place. The cafe is delicious. Whether you are going for the night, the wine tasting or just to visit....you won't be disappointed!!
