Had a great stay here with my wife recently. The rooms were nice, clean, and sizeable- and the building is beautiful and in a great location. My only issue is that our room was near an exit on the first floor, and the gaps in our door provided us with every noise and conversation that passed by (often). It made it hard to rest in the evenings and morning when people were coming in and out, and made it feel less private.

The bedding was great! Very nice pillows. Sheree at the front desk was very helpful. Breakfast was great at the Ella’s table. We will definitely be back. Only issue would be that you have to walk up a big flight of stairs on porch to get into hotel. I didn’t see any luggage trolleys so be prepared to carry luggage .

Always the best weekends when we stay at this hotel. The atmosphere is welcoming. Super convenient location. The staff make you feel like family. Alex, Evan, and Jacob in the bar ALWAYS take great care of us. They remember our names, our preferences, and give us hugs like they genuinely enjoy seeing us when we stay there. Highly recommend staying here when in Fayetteville!

Just got back home from another incredible weekend at the Inn. We love this hotel and stay here 8-10 times per year. Lambeth Lounge is my favorite place to hang out in Fayetteville. The bartenders Alex, Evan and Jacob are by far the best! Their creations have literally won them state wide recognition and they are constantly creating new ones. I highly recommend a weekend getaway to the Inn.

Such a nice old dorm turned beutiful hotel on campus. Friendly staff and great rooms for a great stay. Beds were soft and comfy. Room service and food very good and service was quick. I loved the old black and white photos throughout the hotel. We stayed over the Thanksgiving break and the location was close to family and other places in town. Old main was lit for the holidays and it was a cool sight to see! Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a nice hotel on campus plus near the downtown area of Fayetteville.

I’ve stayed in a lot of places. Never have I stayed with the biggest, most comfortable, fluffiest bed in the world that allowed me to dream all night long. The service here was impeccable with all staff. I had the chance to get to know Stella at the coffee/bar, and Brandon the engineer. They were remarkable and truly added to a most “Wowing” experience. The chocolate chips cookies added a very nice touch at the front counter as well. Thank you all for a dreamy place! We will be back soon!

Terrence and Brianna at the front desk went above and beyond! Thank you for great service. They problem solved an issue I was having. The hotel staff are a great asset. Absolutely would recommend the hotel for someone looking to stay close to campus.

This is a hidden gem in the heart of the University of Arkansas Campus. It is a small hotel, having formerly been a sorority house. I have stayed there a few times, and have had a business event there. The facilities are lovely and nostalgic, the staff is extremely pleasant and pleasant and goes the extra mile, and the location can't be beat. If you need to go to Fayetteville, this is a charming and terrific option.

Yelp
We stay here at least once a year - usually in early spring. We come to enjoy a couple of days on campus and hang out with our kids. The rooms and beds are comfy/cozy and the rates are reasonable. We always enjoy our stays.

Kevin R.

Yelp
Exterior and common area charm, dark dreary rooms! Horrible furniture and lighting. Overall it is way overrated & overpriced for the quality of the Hotel.

Yelp
We love Fridays on the porch with our friends. The last few years the pizza has been fantastic, especially for a 'non-pizza' place. Whatever you changed this year with the pizza please reverse course immediately. The new pizza is weak by elementary schools standards.

Yelp
The reason to stay at the Inn at Carnall Hall is because the location is fantastic. You are on the U of A campus and if your trip to Fayetteville is a visit to U of A there is no better spot. The Inn itself is super quaint, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the rooms are comfortable. If you are looking for luxury you should look elsewhere but if you want a great U of A visitor experience Carnall Hall is a solid choice.

Yelp
The beds are so comfortable. The rooms are nice and clean. The couches and extra seating are a nice touch. The staff are simply amazing.

Yelp
In a country increasingly dominated by stale corporate homogeneity, the in at Carnall hall is a breath of fresh air.

Yelp
I had a great stay from start to finish. I had a three day stay. My room was cozy. I ate breakfast at Ella's all three mornings. The staff and service were consistent and went out of their way for me. Absolutely loved the location, I was able to walk to Dickson street where all the restaurants were. My only stressor; walking up those Arkansas hills ( I'm used to more flatland).

Jackson L.

Yelp
Great location and service! Amenities are older, but have been maintained very well over the years. Great option for a weekend trip, and doesn't hurt that Ella's is downstairs.

Julie A.

Yelp
An all-time favorite - we even hosted our daughter's wedding here. It would be perfect, however, if the hotel was PET FRIENDLY like so many are now. We're forced to stay elsewhere to include our furry family members and are anxious for that not to be a factor. Dogs just fit in this cozy, historic property with huge front lawn. :)

Yelp
Stopped in for a couple cocktails after a long day of orientation at the university. Cool place with comfy couches to relax and have a drink. Good variety of wine and cocktails.

Yelp
Good: location, bed, Robin (front desk/restaurant hostess): Bad: sadly, almost everything else. I'm in the middle of a two night stay in a junior state room. Easy to find the inn, plenty of free parking, and easy check in. The problems started soon after check in. I couldn't get into my room. Robin (super nice and helpful) came up, let me in, and showed me how to unlock the door. (You have to play with the stupid thing to get it to unlock. How about replacing it?) There's no peephole or safety latch, which is a real safety issue if someone knocks on your door. No room safe (fine) and no fridge (despite their website saying there is one). I understand that the building is 100+ years old, so I expect and don't mind the creaky and uneven floors etc. My concerns go beyond that. Lighting in the room is a joke. Meaning, there is hardly any light. During the day it's bright, because some of the blinds are broken and don't close. Not that it matters, because they are currently doing some VERY loud construction and a nap would be impossible. Today was my one day to sleep in, but construction started around 7:30. AM!! I was told "we are trying to meet a deadline." Terrible excuse, even if true. I was looking forward to dinner at Ella's last night. Sorry, private party. Restaurant closed AND no room service. I did have breakfast there, which was good. (But the one waiter for 10-12 tables seemed over worked.) All in all, a disappointing experience so far. (I would have given them two stars, but I imagine that most people won't encounter the same construction issues.) Update: it's 3:45am, and the fire alarm just went off. Whole place evacuated. Seems like a false alarm. Unbelievable!! Now they get one star.

Yelp
GuestReservations.com charged me $76.91 in "Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees" for a one-night stay at the Inn at Carnal Hall in Fayetteville, Arkansas, or 52% percent of the subtotal. I, like many others, thought I was at the Inn at Carnal Hall website when booking. Obviously, that wasn't the case. This is a scam!! I called GuestReservations.com and Ann told me there was nothing they could do because it was the hotel's policy, refused to let me speak to her supervisor, etc. I then called the Inn at Carnall Hall and the person I spoke to said there was nothing she could do as she was not authorized to cancel the reservation. I asked why the hotel allows GuestReservations.com to even book reservations at your hotel and she said the hotel was looking into the matter because of more and more complaints. She also said my reservation came across as Bookings.com so this website is probably connected with GuestReservations.com. It's all a scam and no one cares about the customer anymore!!

Yelp
Very unique place. Old school southern feel to this hotel. Cool location right on campus. However a lot of the things you are used to in a hotel this place will not have. Like fitness center, refrigerator in the room. The rooms are very small.

Yelp
Stayed here this past Valentines as a mini getaway with my husband. We just stayed for one night and it was overall a good experience. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Overall, those that we came into contact with at the hotel all had great customer service. Very friendly and accommodating. When my husband made the arrangements to stay the night there, we were told that room service would not be available during the Valentines weekend. We were bummed out about that because we really just wanted to eat room service and lay in bed haha. They ended up giving us a voucher so we could get room service for breakfast, but it wasn't available for dinner. So we were very appreciated of that. HOTEL/ROOM QUALITY: Overall, the hotel and room were of nice quality for the price. We paid around 190 for one night. Not sure what other rooms or prices there was since I didn't book the room. The bed was a king and very comfortable. If a room doesn't have a comfortable bed, then I will not write a good review haha, but this place past the test. There was a bathroom and a living room area as well. All areas were clean and nice. The Inn use to be a women's dormitory at the University of Arkansas - the Inn is practically on the campus. So, it is a cool historical place to stay. I personally get a little weirded out by "historical" places because I just assume it will be haunted haha. Don't worry, I didn't have any haunting experiences here. They offer free Wifi to guests to - no password. They have one restaurant - Ella and there is a downstairs bar/lounge area with plenty of comfortable seating and a large flat screen TV. ROOM SERVICE/FOOD: We got room service from their restaurant Ella for breakfast. I posted pictures of the menu and food. My husband had the blueberry pancakes and a side of hash browns. He loved it. I ordered the Stuffed French Toast with a side of extra bacon and it was so yummy! I didn't finish it though since it was very rich and sweet, but it was nonetheless delicious. The bacon was a peppered bacon and so yummy too! The wait for the food wasn't very long as well and the man who brought it up to our room had great customer service. OVERALL: There are a couple reasons why I'm not giving this place 5 stars. Most of the rooms I saw (including ours) had a crack above the door (between the door and door frame). Also, I did think it was weird they did not offer room service on Valentines night - or are we the only couple that likes to just sit and eat in bed sometimes? haha. Give this place a try!

Yelp
This was our first visit to the Inn. We had such a fantastic experience and the staff was very attentive. Specifically a young lady named Becky who very graciously changed our room at 10:00 pm because we needed space for a 3rd sleeper. The bar is very comfortable with overstuffed leather chairs. We didn't eat at the restaurant but the reviews are also very good.

Yelp
I love the old historic inn feel and this did not disappoint. I had a short two night stay, but really did enjoy it. One of the days, I spent the morning relaxing in my room, ordered room service and caught up on the book I was reading. Room service though, was not impressing at all. Someone told me they take pride in their restaurant, but it must be dine-in only. I got a big plate of grease. I did experience a bit of a ghost story as well, so that added charm to my stay (for those of you not afraid of ghosts, LOL). I checked in, freshened up in my room and went to meet my crew. After dinner and drinks, I returned to my room and to my surprise found what looked like blood drops in my sink. I cleaned them and went to bed. I awoke next morning to the same "blood drops" in my sink. It didn't happen again, but it was weird just the same! I would definitely recommend staying here, for a small town, old historic feel. Loved the rocking chairs on the big wrap around porch!

Yelp
The rooms are okay, about a three star level. The parking is pathetic. If there is an event, you will NOT find parking even in the paltry "overflow parking". The front desk does not care and turns off their phones during an event. Hopefully, the weather is decent for your long walk to the hotel once you find parking. The parking lot should be for hotel guest. Events should plan offsite parking with a shuttle.

Yelp
Disappointed in this place. We were expecting so much more based on reviews from others. Our room was on the top floor and had a funky arrangement. Could have lived with that except for the window unit AC freezing up and it was one of the hottest nights in awhile. Also, linens were terrible - fitted sheet was so old and stretched out, it came off every night and the pillows... well Iumpy and worn out is the best way to describe them. My husband said he felt like we were given the "kids" room. Coffee cups were dirty... sink was dirty... just overall unkept. The bright spot was the staff and the proximity to restaurants and town square - but not enough to return.

Allison R.

Yelp
If you're going to be spending time at University of Arkansas, this historic hotel is exactly where you should be saying. Convenient to Dickson St., easy to get to most parts of campus, and an all around attentive staff make this experience wonderful. Yes, the hotel is older, but that is part of the charm! Added perks include plenty of space in the rooms and a continental breakfast (with lots of coffee) provided each morning. And, luckily, no ghosts for me.

Libby S.

Yelp
Best place to stay in Fayetteville. Not that I've stayed anywhere else in Fayetteville, but this beats a number of supposedly 4/5 star hotels I've stayed in, in other parts of the US/ world. It's a member of the Historic Hotels of America group. The rooms are impeccable. The architecture/ int. design of the place is worth the visit alone. This seems to be a common theme amongst my reviews ;-). Also, this is on the UofA campus, so there's access to some nice walking paths - not avail. at many other (if any) hotels in the area. And there's easy access to Fayetteville's main eating/ drinking St. - Dickson St. Another plus is the usage of the fabulous UofA gym facilities. Albeit it's tad difficult to find the entrance. So get some clear instructions on how to find it. Print a UofA map would be my advice... Only 20-30 min. from the AR-102/US-62 exit 86...

Yelp
This charming Inn on the U of A campus was built in 1905 or so as a womens dorm and you can see a bit of that in the room designs. It went to ruin in the 1960's and was reborn a commercial Inn sometimes in the last 15 or so years. I had a great stay here, the food good enough and the bar well stocked. The staff was very attentive and kept the place neat as a pin. Really, the descriptor of charming really suits the place.

Betty C.

Yelp
Nice, quiet place to stay. Rooms are small and the floors are a bit loud if kids are above you but it is a nice place with great service and a nice comfortable bar and restaurant.

Diana B.

Yelp
What used to be a great and convenient place to stay has sadly lost it's charm. We stayed here for the weekend and the first issue started at check in. We arrived at 6 pm to find out that we would not be able to check in because the room had not been cleaned. Check in time is 3 pm and the woman at the desk offered no consolation for our room not being ready 3 hours late. She told us we could sit and wait and told us we could go check with the maids to see how long it would be, as if that were our job to do. Once we were able to get in our room our other guests were not able to get into their room they booked across the hall from us because of a water leak. They were then placed in a room that had not been cleaned and was under construction in the bathroom. Painters tape all in the bathroom along with all of the hardware not hung on the wall and a dirty bath tub. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. What used to be our favorite place to stay will probably no longer be where we stay when we visit Fayetteville. Plus the whole hotel has been renovated to look like a cheap modern furnished hotel which has ruined the charm of the historic building. Also, be aware the restaurant there is closed from 10am-11am, we were unaware and could not eat brunch when we checked out on Sunday. I guess being closed during the busiest time of breakfast/brunch makes sense?

Yelp
With all the positive reviews I was really looking forward to this place, but in reality it was a big disappointment. Our first room, 315, didn't have a working TV. the room was also very small and seemed to lean due to the foundation shifting. We were moved to another room due to the TV issue. Room 212 was much larger, but we also had issues in this room. Both room 315 and 212 had some of the worst views you can have in this hotel (AC units and roof lines). The light fixture in the bathroom had 3 lights, but only one bulb worked (one socket didn't even have a bulb). Both rooms seemed to be outdated looking with very worn carpets and the furniture is in need of an update. The room across the hall from us had an alarm going off starting at 5 am and the staff didn't turn it off until 8:30 am. For the price charged I would have expected better.

Lauren C.

Yelp
2.5 stars. Would have been 4-5 stars if the very loud fire alarm did not go off TWO separate times during my stay: at 2:30am Sunday morning and Tuesday afternoon! Very friendly staff and the rooms aren't bad.

Russell B.

Yelp
The exterior is spectacular. Great setting and great atmosphere! However, they lost two stars in my book for the interior decor. The furniture came straight out of the 90's and the carpet was torn in many places. Fixtures are outdated and overall, it needs a bit of an updo on the inside to better match the outside!

Steve A.

Yelp
Excellent experience! Clean and comfortable! Almost like a bed & breakfast only better and bigger.

Becky S.

Yelp
The room was bought for us by someone else, had it not been for that, we would have asked to be reimbursed. The put us in the room right next to the side door, which is used as a main door as well. I feel like I am sitting right outside of a bar. Around 10:00 we were sleeping and there was a group of people that came in and stood right inside the door conversating, rather loudy, and then cussing and yelling at people down the hall. I had to call the front desk to ask them to quiet these people. The group moved down the hall to the lobby and gathered outside of the lounge and carried on for quite a while. I was not impressed with how management did not shut the party down quickly. I would suggest that if you are looking for piece and quiet do NOT stay here! It seems to not be an quaint Inn but rather a gathering place for alumni of the university. I will not stay here again.

Lisa M.

Yelp
I was REALLY looking forward to staying at this hotel. I understand that it a old hotel/historical. However, with that said, I expected to have sheets that were in better shape than what I had. Holes in the sheets, discolored and just plain old. Lamp shades had yellowing stains because they were so old. Pillows were so flat that I had to use two on top of one another. Tired after traveling I was not allowed to order room service at 7 because the cook went home. Ugh.... I will not be back to this hotel again.
