We really liked this hotel. On our late afternoon arrival, we were offered free milk and cookies and cheese and wine in Reception. The reception staff were friendly, chatty, and knowledgeable about the area. The hotel layout is more like a motel with free parking outside the rooms and has a lovely pool / hot tub area. The rooms themselves are quite dated but are clean and have a full kitchen area if required. Free coffee and hot water were available in Reception so we never made coffee in our room. The free breakfast was much better and more substantial than we expected and included fruit, yogurt, pastries, cereals etc. We only stayed one night and wish we had stayed longer. The whole vibe of the place was relaxed and friendly with no skimping or trying to charge for additional items, e.g. valet parking, ‘resort’ fees etc.

Really loved our time here during our California road trip. Stayed two nights and found the accommodation perfect for what we needed as a family. Two very large beds and a good sized kitchen. ||Staff on the front desk were very nice and the drinks from the fridge there were reasonably priced. Kids loved the pool and hot tub and nice to sit on the balcony overlooking this area. Good location short walk to the beach and similar walk in opposite direction to the shopping area. We hired free bikes from their sister hotel and cycled down to a different beach. Felt quite safe lots of cycle lanes. The wine and cheese happy hour was a great bonus and the breakfast was also perfect for what we needed. Would definitely recommend.

My family and I stayed for one night at the Inn by the Harbor. We had a wonderful experience and hope to be back in the future. The staff was friendly, professional, and accommodating. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and we had everything we needed. We enjoyed both the complimentary afternoon wine & cheese and the breakfast in the morning. We walked everywhere during our stay, including to the beach, dinner, a coffee shop, the carriage museum, and a park with a jungle gym. I'd recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Lovely little hotel just a few minutes walk from Santa Barbara beach and the main town. Rooms were immaculately clean and the service from the concierge/reception desk was very good. Mickey was really helpful with recommendations. Guests can also use the free bikes on offer at the sister hotel across the road (Brisas) which is a nice touch. Free wine and cheese in the afternoon between 4pm and 6.30pm is also appreciated. The pool area is cool too, with ample seating for the amount of guests and the plants around the hotel are kept in great condition. Loved the heady scent of the jasmine plants!

My wife and stayed here for two weeks. Convenient. The room and premises were very clean. The room had a small kitchen, which proved useful. Breakfast was good. Could use more fresh fruit. The pool was joce and refreshing and hot tub worked well. Would we return, likely if the price is right. It is only three blocks from the ocean and easy access both on and off State highway 101. A Trader Joe's is not too far away. While most rooms were occupied. It was very quiet and felt safe walking outside both during the day and evening.

We arrived on Monday 31st and were immediately welcomed by a really pleasant Sam. He greeted me by name and declared we had been updated from a basic double room to a King size suite which was more than appreciated. Our suite was big, spacious and so comfortable comple with kitchen & dining area. Sam and Diego continued to give us really useful tips and recommendations of where to dine and visit. The continental breakfast was very satisfactory with fresh produce every morning. Rooms were very well serviced and clean and no request was too much trouble. Would recommend staying here if you visit lovely Santa B

We booked this room for our 5 year wedding anniversary and it also coincided with UCSB graduation. We booked a city/resort view room and we were thrilled. We are from Napa Valley and travel all over the world to high end hotels typically. The room was fantastic. Updated but tastefully done, view was fine, location was spectacular and the staff…AMAZING! Jason, who I believe is the front desk manager, is nothing short of spectacular. He is kind, funny, charismatic and everyone we have met at the hotel has made us feel welcome. When we checked in, Jason was being BERATED by an unhappy New Yorker who had just flown in. Nothing he or the staff did to make things better for her were enough. My husband and I watched her go after the staff for at least 10 minutes and he was calm, cool, and collected. Honestly, that’s why I am writing the review. This is one of the better hotels in the area and the location can’t be beat. The staff clearly care about their guests and if you’re nice to them, they will be nice to you and go out of their way to make your stay wonderful. They are working hard, and the entire front staff handled our check-in, this woman who was the nastiest I’ve seen (and believe me, I’ve seen a lot), as well at the check-in of other guests, flawlessly. We will be back without hesitation because of the staff, the clean room, and the fantastic location. If you’re hesitant to book, don’t be. Book this hotel, take in the beautiful surroundings, and treat the staff as you would want to be treated and you’ll have an absolutely incredible time. 💕

So unhappy with our stay that we left and forfeited $254. Waited 20 min for person to show at desk. Area was sketchy across from the parking lot vacant building that had shopping carts and other debris. Room smelt bad left the windows open all night due to the smell, but didn’t sleep well due to concerns about safety. Staff unresponsive to concerns, almost like they hear it often. We just couldn’t stay the 2nd night-it was the last night of our trip and they only “unpleasant, unsafe feeling” stay. It was offered that they would talk to the owner about compensation but haven’t seen or heard anything. Oh the hotel doesn’t not look the photos especially the rooms. The interior garden was well kept, sauna only fit 2-3 people and was cold. The property was a former apartment building.

Yelp
We absolutely LOVED this hotel. It's a fantastic, darling, beautiful little boutique place, offering great quality for the price point. The happy hour and breakfast, while standard, are nice benefits and I love that they're included. The hotel rooms are fantastically clean, the beds are sooooooo comfortable. The hotel is very quiet, just slightly removed from the main drag. We had our toddler with us and while she's very well behaved, we almost felt a bit guilty because it was so quiet... but there were other kids there as well, the only time we heard them was in the pool. It seems to draw a slightly older crowd, but our little family did not feel unwelcome or uncomfortable in any way. The best part of the rooms is the kitchenette - we didn't use it a ton, but it was a great place to tuck away our toddler inflate-a-bed to get a bit of privacy. The kitchenette was stocked with what we needed when we did cook. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The place felt inviting. We loved it.

Yelp
Lovely rooms, good continental breakfast..... The biggest thing is we had a glitch with our reservation (our fault). Mickey was wonderful, so helpful and sweet. And then Sam fixed the whole thing! Great customer service! Mickey was also great with recommendations, so helpful. Very nice time!

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay here!! The hotel room had everything we needed and it's just a few blocks (about 10 minutes) from the ocean. Pros- - the front desk staff was very friendly. - There were snacks candy and drinks priced very cheaply in the lobby - Free breakfast in the morning (although it isn't much- cereal, boiled eggs, pastries) - Happy hour in the afternoon (3 wine options, water, lemonade, cookies and cheese cubes) - The garden is very pretty to walk through and all rooms have a balcony overlooking it. - There is a pool and hot tub - There are bikes available to use - They have a parking lot with free parking Cons- - The rooms seemed a bit outdated. The shower head was so low, we had to duck - I wish it was closer to the beach and restaurants, but it wasn't a horrible walk

Yelp
I haven't given a 5 to an inn/hotel ever, but this place deserves it. I have stayed at the Hyatt and Ramada Inn in SB and the Holiday Inn on Carpinteria and honestly this inn beats them all by a long shot. I booked a 2 queen room 4 months in advance through Hotels.com. I had no issues with the reservation at check-in. Total price for us was $729 for 2 nights. Check-in was great. The staff was friendly, professional and even great to give us a map of Santa Barbara with recommendations go things to do around the area. Room was clean and pretty good sized. I was happy to see we got a full kitchen and a complimentary bottle of champagne (they will swap it out for sparkling cider should you want to instead). We also got white robes in the closet if we wanted to use them. They provide body wash/shampoo products by Bath & Bodywork's. We didn't have a view of the courtyard but it wasn't a big deal since my sister insisted on having the curtains drawn closed at all times. Haha! It's a lovely old style Spanish design building with Spanish tiling on the stairs, wall decor and pavement. We were on the far end of the hotel with a baseball field directly behind us. This place was sooo quiet! We never heard anything through the walls, no noise from the pool area and no pounding of footsteps walking by our door or up the stairs. We loved the cute courtyard with beautiful greenery and flowers. They have a wine and cheese hour from 4:30-6:30pm everyday. We took advantage of it our first night at the hotel. They also offer milk and cookies but I never caught what time it was and so we never went. The continental breakfast was a step up from similar hotels. They had mini veggie quiches, cold cereals, mini parfait cups, fresh pastries (not individually wrapped ones), bagels, bread for toast, hard boiled eggs individually wrapped, milk, juice, several hot coffees to choose from and tea available. I highly recommend this place and I would come back.

Yelp
I chatted with Sam about a unfortunate medical situation and how it was going to change our vacation trip. He understood and helped me with the changes.

Yelp
Nice little spot close to the beach. Nothing fancy, but has a lot of personality. Great spot to relax and swim. Free champagne and happy hour treats. Also had a pool and kitchen. Throw off your shoes and relax.

Yelp
What a gem! I don't know how we find this place but it is darling!!! We enjoyed the patio out front for morning coffee and breakfast. Continental breakfast was decent and a nice start to a day of being out & about. Even made it in time for the wine hour our first day! I had the house made sangria which was pleasant! There's also hummingbirds hanging out in the bushes on the patio. The staff were so helpful giving directions to local spots we wanted to see and recommended a hilltop for sunset. Friendly greetings everyday, although I want ready for it before coffee. Haha! We were in the corner unit away from most other guests so our spot was pretty quiet. The kitchenette was amazing and would've been perfect if we were staying for more than a couple of days or wanted to cook in. I wasn't expecting the kitchenette or the sparkling wine. There's an option for sparkling cider instead if you prefer a nonalcoholic option. Slept like a queen surrounded by pillows. I was happy to see that instead of the typical top comforter or duvet, it was a sheet on top and sheet below the comforter. I felt like this was a better/cleaner option compared to other hotels where the comforters aren't washed regularly. It was easy really easy to check the beds before settling in. I travel with a hotel lock which jams the door preventin anyone from coming in whether by accident or on purpose. I highly recommend it for this type of door. I also happened to have a lock which we used in the sliding door track. I feel better with these extra measures and is not a reflection of the hotel or the location. Speaking of, this Inn is located close to most of the things we came to Santa Barbara to see and do. Wine tasting, dinner on the pier, walking around downtown, and of course, beaches. Thoroughly delighted by our stay and would come again in a heartbeat!

Yelp
The Inn by the Harbor is a Charming Seaside Escape. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The inn boasts classic Mediterranean flare, surrounded by lush gardens. Its proximity to the waterfront and downtown makes it an ideal base for exploring the city. Each morning, guests are treated to a continental breakfast. Don't expect to walk out of there full but it's plenty for a small bite. In the afternoon, unwind with a glass of wine during the inn's small bites and wine reception. Lounge under the sun or enjoy a leisurely read in the charming courtyard. They have tons of foliage and it's beautiful. Cool off in the pool or relax in the hot tub. The pool is also heated for the colder days. Explore the waterfront and nearby attractions on one of the inn's complimentary bikes. The rooms are average and the bed was actually comfortable and we slept well in the quiet which was very nice. The inn's design exudes a relaxed, coastal vibe. The staff at Inn by the Harbor truly go above and beyond. Their friendly demeanor and helpful recommendations made our stay even more enjoyable. Whether you're on a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or a solo adventure, the Inn by the Harbor offers a delightful experience. I highly recommend it as one of the best boutique hotels in Santa Barbara. I would definitely stay there again!

Yelp
Very cute boutique hotel just off the beaten path. We were able to walk to state st easily during the day. Would not recommend walking at night due to homeless, but never felt unsafe during the day. Room was more than adequate w comfy bed and lots of pillows. There is a small pool and hot tub in the courtyard. Ample parking. Breakfast was nice with a hot egg bite, oatmeal, pastries and fresh fruit and yogurt. Happy hour had cheese, crackers, Chardonnay, house made Sangria and Cabernet. Super cute hotel. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Front desk clerk was extremely rude to me. It was about ten minutes till 9am, my wife was taking a shower and she asked me to go to the lobby and find out if breakfast ended at 9am or at 10am, because if it was ending early, she wanted me to grab her something quick, but if it was going till 10am we could eat together once she was ready. Okay, so I go up to the desk clerk and I ask what time breakfast is served till. He doesn't answer. He looks at me, then looks over to where the breakfast food is, then looks back at me and asks me for my room number. I said I wasn't sure, I said it was the room on the left just above the lobby, but then I asked again, clarifying I just wanted to know what time breakfast was served till. He sighed, clearly suspecting me of being a guy off the street who didn't have a room trying to get a free breakfast. But my dude needs to understand that if this was the case, I would have just gone over to the food and helped myself. No one else there was being asked for proof that they were a guest. But this guy was determined to not answer my question until I had proved to him that I'm a guest. So he asks me for the last name on the reservation. I tell him, and he types it in the computer. When the name comes up, and he's satisfied that I'm actually staying there, he finally answers my question, but in a curiously worded manner: "You're allowed to enjoy the breakfast until 10am." And that's when I realized why he was being so weird with me, it's because I'm overweight. This guy is afraid I'm here to eat all the food, like once I start eating, I simply won't be able to stop until I hit the time limit. Nah, bro. I'm not here to wipe out all your food. I went back to our room nearly in tears from being treated so poorly by the desk clerk. I told my wife what happened and we agreed it was best that we just leave, as they clearly didn't want us there. If you're thin and good looking, this may be the place for you. If not, consider yourself warned. EDIT: I've added two stars because I accept the sincere apology from Managment and they assured me they would talk to the clerk who was so rude to me about how he could have handled the situation better. I still can't fathom why he couldn't have just answered my question without fat-shaming me, but hopefully his attitude improves and maybe he was just having a bad day and wanted to pass it along. If so he, succeeded, as that interaction absolutely ruined my day but I admit the rest of the staff I interacted with were friendly and respectful so instead of letting one bad apple ruin them all I will try to focus on the positive moving forward and therefore I do think an overall 3 stars is fair: it's an average of the 5-star experience at checkin and the 1-star experience at breakfast.

Matthew E.

Yelp
Absolutely love this comfy and cozy Inn, walking distance to West Beach, the Funk Zone, and downtown Santa Barbara. Their bikes were an ideal way to explore the city, and their afternoon Happy Hour and morning breakfast were very special. Thanks Sam and Mickey for taking good care of us, and for directing us to some of the best restaurants that Santa Barbara has to offer.

Yelp
I had a very negative experience at Inn by the Harbor and i would never stay there again. On Tuesday, August 23, 2022 i checked in at about 3:30pm. I had booked through AGODA. First, the man at the desk, Esteban, told me that they could not find my reservation. I provided the booking number and confirmation number and after five minutes of looking through records, the reservation came up. I had reserved a king room. And I paid the price for a king size bed. The gentleman told me that there simply was not any king bed available and that I would have to make do with a queen size bed. I expressed my frustration, that that was not what I paid for. He said without any further explanation or apology that this was a problem with Agoda and if I had an issue with it, I should take it up with them. For a receptionist at a hotel, in the hospitality industry, this is an unacceptable way to deal with a customer who is travel weary and simply wants to check into the room that he paid for it. There was no apology, no empathetic posture, simply the statement that if I had an issue with accepting the queen bed, that I needed to take it up with Agoda. he tried to tell me that Agoda doesn't have the right access or information and that this is a problem with Agoda - not a problem with their hotel. As the customer standing there at the desk, I totally disagree. The hotel needs to determine with greater care what kinds of vendors they want to partner with and if Expedia and then Agoda are not a good partner to accurately reflect the merchandise they are selling... In this case - a king size bed room... Then they should stop partnering with that vendor. Or they should clarify the problem and fix it. But to literally tell me, as the guest, that I need to fix it... That is totally unacceptable. I really had no other choice, so I did check in to the queen room, even though I clearly had paid for a king room. The room was neat and tidy but it had a terrible musty smell. It smelled as though somewhere in the room there was mildew and mold. The bed was uncomfortable, especially because they were two of us in it and we had actually paid for a king but we're jammed into a queen that actually might've been a full size bed and not a queen... and the musty smell was terrible. Finally, at five in the morning, we decided to check out and leave because the musty smell was so awful. we had planned to enjoy a nice morning in Santa Barbara, but we simply could not bear another moment in that mildew or mold infested room. we literally packed our bags and left at 5 AM! Fully one day later, I still have the latent smell of mildew, mold, and mustiness lingering in my nose and in my sinuses... It's pretty terrible. This was my experience with this hotel, which is actually more of a motel... By the way, the name of this place is disingenuous. The name makes it seem like maybe the Harbor is in view or close by... It is not. It is a 15 minute walk to the Harbor and you will certainly not see the harbor whatsoever from this place. what are you will see and have a view of is the 7-Eleven and a gas station.

Yelp
The GM Greg was so welcoming. The happy hour was great along with the breakfast. The front desk were all great too!! I highly recommend this place!

Yelp
I made this reservation about a month before our stay. I found this place on hotels.com and booked from there as well. I called the day before to confirm and the kind person on the phone was helpful. We rode our bikes from LA, and when I was checking in the nice person at the desk was welcoming to us and our bikes. They let me know they do get a lot of cyclists. I recommend this nice hotel as a place to anyone who passing through on bikes or headed north or south. The stay was very warm and relaxed after 100 miles. Very close/ walking distance from the train or any stores and restaurants. I have a feeling we will be back!

Yelp
The pricing is very fair. I am impressed. I had to book an emergency booking here due to an inconvenience, my check in was supposed to be at 3 pm however, the front desk was willing to accommodate me and make things happen! I checked in at 10am instead, Sam gave me a summary of the times and schedules for what goes on throughout the day, Sam also gave me recommendations of nearby areas to eat or hang. Rodrigo built rapport by asking if I was okay, and how the drive was for me over. They are professional and cordial. The room I had was on the bottom floor with a king side bed, a kitchen, and a spotless clean tile based shower. This was a wonderful pleasant experience coming from a very hard day. I fully recommend this location due to the fact that it is walking distance to the beach, food nearby, and a highly professional staff. Also check in was only 30 seconds.

Yelp
We had such an amazing stay here at Inn By The Harbor. The room was much bigger than we were expecting and everything was clean and well kept up. We really enjoyed the breakfast each morning and the afternoon happy hour and snacks was a great addition to our days! Mickey was absolutely amazing and made our stay so much better. He gave us so many awesome food recommendations as well as amazing wine suggestions and tips. We would come back again just to see him!

Yelp
Excellent service!! That is the 5 star review because everyone did great otherwise I hated the wifi, ground floor- take a look at that. TV wasnt working well but we weren't really watching TV so no biggie. Loved the free breakfast and the security pool guy on 4/13 is a sweetheart and deserves credit! All staff was awesome, thanks we would come back in a heartbeat!! Take care and thanks for making our wedding AMAZING!!!!

Yelp
I hate writing bad reviews, but this place is NOTHING LIKE ITS DESCRIBED!! I took 7 days to drive up the coast and booked hotels as I made my way to each town. Every hotel was perfectly described except this one. It's actually a 26 min walk or 7 min drive to the beach and State street. It is not anywhere close to beach front. The hotel is not bad, but it's located by the freeway and the train. It's really loud!!!!!! It's on a main Street so you hear cars and motorcycles all night. Not their fault but you can't walk anywhere from the hotel as a lot of homeless. They do leave a bottle of champagne in the room, and wine in the lobby in the afternoon. I cut my stay short as just not close to walk to anything and the noise is bad. They did allow me a late check out so I could sleep, as the people next to me were parting until 4:30am. The front desk was nice enough to tell the room next door to quite down. Good if you need to crash and go, but not close to anything.
google avatar

Jim A.

Yelp
I don't know where to start with this place. Dirty / smelly rooms, unaccommodating / rude staff, seedy characters in the parking lot all night long, uncomfortable beds, the list goes on. Many far superior options in the area at the same price point. Please don't be fooled by the positive reviews. Stay away!!
google avatar

Marla E.

Yelp
We had a lovely weekend stay here. It is in a great, quiet location with many restaurants, and even the beach within a mile or so. It appeared to be an old "Motel 6" style hotel which had been completely renovated. There was ample free parking on the premises and yummy treats for us to enjoy. The bathroom did have a slight musty odor, but was large with fantastic water pressure. We were in a larger, upstairs corner room and we utilized the full kitchen area as well. The entire staff always was cheerful and helpful. Thank you and we will be back!
google avatar

Bigong M.

Yelp
This place is a little gem. If you like walking and having a quiet place around you (not hearing cars etc) this is good. The place was clean and we enjoyed using their amenities. We used the pool and jacuzzi on our first night, and then the next day afternoon after a long walk all over state street and the beach. They have go bags as breakfast and gave us complimentary wine champagne. No elevators so if you're hard of taking stairs make sure you book the lower level. There's only two levels. Mickey the concierge was very informative about all the restaurants and beer and wine around the town. He gave us a list to check out so now there's more reason why we should go back to SB!
google avatar

Alex H.

Yelp
Four stars is a good rating for this place after spending the night, as I had to come up to SB for an extra night for work, grabbed this place off Expedia using my points for 40 bucks! Anyway, I roll into town around 9am and did some work till about noon, I called to see if I could do an early check in, or "soft" check in, and the person who answered the phone said "no, you can't check in till 3, those are the rules, you can come do paperwork though". I said alright, little stand offish but I rolled by to see what I could do. I get there, and after talking wiith Sam at the front, he let's me check in early anyway, so that happened and it was nice. Room was clean and comfortable, I was upstairs so it was nice to have no one above me. The room is simple, nothing special. Comfy bed. Got good rest. Wifi worked fine. Plenty of outlets to charge my gear. And didn't hear any neighbors or ruckus. Downside was that the water pressure in the shower was pretty weak, so that took away a star, with the combined phone call hard no convo. Plenty of parking which was good, and a beautiful breakfast in the lobby. Cereal, Fruit, Yogurt, Coffee, Bagels, Oatmeal etc. Four stars. If you get a good price on the room, go for it!

Amy D.

Yelp
A good option for comfortable budget-friendly accommodations in Santa Barbara a few blocks inland from the beach/harbor. The hotel offers breakfast and bike rentals (!) included in the price, which is why we chose it. Pool and hot tub too. Friendly and helpful employees. Variety of breakfast options as well as happy hour snacks and beverages. A really nice aspect of the property is its landscaping, with lots of trees and other greenery around the inner courtyard. The room itself was comfortable although could use some cosmetic work (some worn paint and furniture finish) but it's fine. Room, bathroom, and kitchenette were all clean. We would definitely stay there again.

Yelp
What a great experience! We arrived and met Frank who works at the front desk. Within the first few minutes we knew we made the best choice. Frank greeted us and was informative and gave great service! He is exceptional! He told us all the great places to eat and visit. We had a great room. Large patio, roomy, and very clean. We were able to rent bikes and they made it a extra easy experience. Frank gave us a map on sightseeing and it did not disappoint. We had the best time. Great location, very clean rooms, clean pool and landscape, and WONDERFUL service from Frank at the front desk. He should be the example for everyone. Walking distance to Stearns Wharf and several restaurants and coffee shops. Completely enjoyable!!!!! We will be back!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I made a quick trip to Santa Barbara the weekend after Valentine's Day. The guy at the front desk was incredibly nice and accommodating. He was helpful in letting us know local restaurants with a good happy hour! Complimentary bubbly in the room was a great touch. Hotel is cute and quaint. Would definitely return.

Nicolette L.

Yelp
had a lovely stay! great customer service and friendly! loved the free food at happy hour. also got upgraded for free!

Yelp
Sam was amazing and gave me good recommendations on where to dine and where to go for wine tastings. Huge shout out to him, had a wonderful experience for my birthday stay Would definitely be coming back.

Yelp
Excellent place to stay! Quaint little inn, comfortable bed, decent sized room, clean and friendly staff. They had wine and snacks from 4:30-6:30, free breakfast, and free parking. The property was very quiet and close to the Wharf and State St. Great price for the location and I'd stay here again!

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for a weekend get-a-way and were pleasantly surprised. The staff is friendly and helpful, they were kind enough to upgrade us, and our room had a kitchenette and ample space. There was also complimentary wine at the office and they gifted us a bottle of champagne. The pool and hot tub were nothing special, but good enough for a short soak. The bathroom in our room would benefit immensely from an update. Overall, we had a good time and would come back.

Yelp
After reading reviews and seeing the pictures we decided the Inn looked like a decent place to stay. When we arrived the front was nice but it is located on a very busy, windy road next to the freeway. The gentleman at the front desk was very nice and he quickly checked us in. This is where it went downhill. They don't show you one side of the building because it shares a driveway with an apartment building next door. It basically looks like a large alley. Our "Deluxe" room was in the back and as soon as we entered we could smell mustiness throughout. We also saw right away that it looked nothing like the pictures of the rooms online. Bare white walls with mismatched, furniture and carpeting. The TV was smaller than my desktop computer's and the Lazy Boy looked like something from a garage sale. The curtains were open on the sliding glass window and there were a couple of housekeeping carts parked against it as the storage room was right there as well. The kitchen was original, old cabinets with doors that didn't close and the original hood. Old tile counter and floors with blemishes. The fridge had yellow stains all over the front. The bathroom was the most renovated part of the room but they still didn't change out the shower head or the neck of it (rusty). And when they put in a new mirror they decided to go with a tiny one when a larger one would have been so much more useful. The room really looked nothing like the pictures they advertised with. For $350/night we expected to get at least what they showed online. It seems like there are some rooms that are renovated but I guess it's the luck of the draw for that and also for which side of the building you're on. Anyway, be warned that their pics don't match what really is there. Disappointed to say the least.

Yelp
My wife found this cute little Inn, and we are lucky she did! Very quaint, cute rooms. Very clean and welcoming. Chilled Champagne in the room was nice touch! Close to everything we needed, we walked most everywhere. Very pleasant and helpful staff! Great place to stay for a Santa Barbara weekend!! Recommend!!

Yelp
This was a great stay for my 30th birthday! Only problem was that I would only stay on a second story room because the ceilings are very thin and you can hear anything your upstairs neighbor does. Otherwise, this was an amazing stay. Sam at the front desk was wonderful and service was excellent. Walking distance to funk zone/ state street and just close to everything! So clean in the rooms and they give champagne !

Yelp
We had to cancel our reservation at a different hotel and were lucky enough to find this gem! Not only is Inn by the Harbor fairly priced, but they are extremely hospitable. Our hotel room was clean and cozy, staff were happy and friendly, and we got a complimentary champagne bottle. If you're looking for cute boutique style stay, I highly recommend Inn by the Harbor. Oh and they're continental breakfast is great!

Yelp
Absolutely loved this hotel! Sam at the front was amazing, as well as all of the front desk staff we spoke with. The rest of the staff was incredibly kind as well. They have tea and coffee out all day and bring local wine out at night, which is so nice! And the room was super clean (which I am very picky about) and overlooking the pool and trees was a great way to wake up every morning. Breakfast was a nice start to our days and the oatmeal was some of the best hotel oatmeal I've had. I want to come back to Santa Barbara just to stay here!

Yelp
I so wanted to give this place 5 stars and really was torn about giving it 4 but it really deserves a decent rating. I'll tell you why. This place has character! It's clean and centrally located. Near State Street, HWY 101 and most importantly the boardwalk. Beautiful Santa Barbara has become our second home thanks to our son attending UCSB. We stayed here because of the great reviews and Expedia was offering a deal. Room #225 was unfortunately not one of the newly renovated rooms here. First impression was flash back of when I went to visit grandma and grandpa's early 1940's farm house in Oregon City, Oregon. Wallpapered walls, antique furnishings almost feels like being in a B&B. Bathroom old and dated but the cleaning crew here does a great job at making the old run down seem pleasantly cozy. Breakfast was good. Very scaled down simple but if you want eggs and bacon you can walk or bike to a place close by. Cookies at 6:30pm-8:00pm were a yummy treat when we made it back. My husband enjoyed the hot tub and the poolside seemed like a quiet and relaxing place to be. No kids here. I'd love to stay here again and will ask for one of the newly renovated rooms.

Yelp
I think I'm falling in love! This place is located not too far from they freeway and seems to be within walking distance to everything needed. There is a grocery store and liquor store very close. The Inn has heated pools and hot tubs. They provide everything you need to be happy here in your stay. Rodrigo was very well informed on all our needs and request. Come on down the the Inn on the Harbor in Santa Barbara.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised. The landscaping is beautiful. The inn was filled with friendly guests but it was surprisingly quiet. I enjoyed the jacuzzi both evenings during my stay. Breakfast and happy hour choices were very good, and the employees in the office were helpful and very nice.

Yelp
Just stayed 3 nights to celebrate my birthday. We expected things to be a bit difficult during covid but check in and check out was seamless. Staff members were very helpful with good recommendations. Location is a bit away from state street (15 min walk) which in my mind was a good thing as it's nice and quiet. They also have free bike rentals, and we really enjoyed the ability to ride around along the beach to our brunch or dinner spots. They gave us breakfast bags with continental breakfast staples each morning and a bottle of champagne when my partner mentioned it was my birthday. We used the tip from the last review and booked it through their website and got an even better deal than anything advertised - highly advise. Can't wait to return! This was my favorite vacation.

Yelp
Loved our stay, will return! SUPER CLEAN! Bed & room super comfortable. Entire property CLEAN & well-maintained. Very pretty. FREE BIKE RENTAL we loved. All of the dEsk people were lovely. Comp champagne was a nice touch. Pool ok, hot tub good. Quiet location near Harbor, so we got to bike. Outstanding 5 stars for a 3-star hotel. This hotel seems to be the mid-price of 3 properties: Casa & Lavender are sisters. Very well organized, very clean. Wine & snacks in evening. Ample parking.

Yelp
Just stayed at this location for our anniversary in late June.  The location is great as it's about a 15 minute walk to State St. or 15 minute walk to the pier.  The actually property at the inn is nicely decorated with lots of greenery and the pool is in middle of the grounds with lots of plants, so good amount of privacy.  Parking is located right outside the room doors and we always found plenty of parking available.  They also have partnership with the nearby hotel "Brisas Del Mar" and you can rent bicycles, rent DVDs or use the pool at this location. The inside of the rooms was pretty nice.  We stayed in a Deluxe King, which included a kitchen, couch and table area.  The front desk gave us complimentary champagne when we mentioned it was our anniversary.  Very nice touch!  Due to Covid-19 restrictions some of the facilities like the gym and their wine/cheese, cookies/milk service are not running at the time.  They also aren't able to do complementary continental breakfast, so you get "to-go" single-serve breakfasts put in the fridge.  This included milk, cereal, orange juice, yogurt, a granola bar and an apple. Another tip is to reserve your room directly through their website, instead of using an outside service.  We found this gave us the best price possible!

Yelp
The location is very convenient, close to the ocean and downtown. It's awesome that they offer free bike rentals and a bottle of champagne in the fridge. Shame on covid19, they wouldn't be able to provide breakfast but instead, they put two bags of snacks in the fridge. Many details were taken care of.

Yelp
Old and outdated inn. The interior room smells and musky. There are bugs in the room. It needs definitely a renovation for this amount of money they are charging per night. Not worth it and would not recommend or go back. Really bad experience all over. From the beddings old carpet and smell. Big disappointment.

Yelp
Nice quaint hotel with Free parking.... I booked because it had a jacuzzi and a small pool.....They upgraded us to a King room w a kitchen..... Bed was very comfortable....They have a small breakfast buffet which was very adequate....Bagels, yogurt, fruit, and more. They also have a Happy Hour- Red and white wine with some goodies..... We spent 2 nights here, and we are very pleased. Rooms a bit dated - but very Clean.....We are Happy- but continued on to our Friends Boy Scout Camp- where we stayed in a 2 bedroom Pre- Fab Home. Zero cost- but the Inn was priced low for the Santa Barbara area. The staff was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the area.......Also- they have free bicycles " with helmets......... Nice touch !!!!!! No complaints

Yelp
Santa Barbara was a blast, and the I stopped by there for a weekend getaway. First time in SB, and boy the hotel prices are not cheap. This place had no frills, basic breakfast, and clean accomodations. That is what I needed. Location was great too, close to State St. (the main touristy area) and the beach. Walk, bike, jog, you got it! It was a bit tricky finding the place from the Amtrak bus station, and Siri was not cooperating with us via walking. This hotel is actually part of 2 other hotels. The hotel staff was really nice and helpful. They actually offered a bottle of champagne to commemorate a special occasion complimentary. Way to go! During certain hours, they have a wine offerings and milk/cookies. Nothing spectacular but a nice gesture. The pool looked a bit dirty, but the hot tub was a nice touch, definitely since the fall season started. You can also rent bikes for a few hours, a fast and neat way to explore SB. The food items you can tell are from Costco, but hey I like Costco! Breakfast is basic, and the protein that they serve is hard boiled eggs. Lots of toast and muffins. The room itself is cozy, small, yet clean. Definitely on the older side. In the bathroom there is no ventilation so I needed to open the window. If someone is tall enough though, they might be able to see inside (creepy much?) You can tell that this hotel used to be apartments back in the day. They had a DVD collection (massive) that you can use. Any questions, they answered. If you do not mind all the amenities not being offered at a high end resort, this will fit the bill. I spent mid 100's per night here, and apparently that is cheaper than other hotels nearby. Give this place a try.

Yelp
I travel a lot for work so I know hotels - I don't really write reviews about them much but here I am... I stayed here for 2 nights and it was perfect. Parking was plentiful and free. When I was checking in there was free wine and random cheeses and crackers for guests to take. Front desk staff was really friendly and explained the layout. The room was really big and had a sliding door into a courtyard- nice to air out the room a bit. The room was clean and had a fridge. The soap/bathroom amenities left a bit to be desired - you might want to bring your own. It was quiet and clean and comfortable- I'll be back soon, for work, but definitely staying here.

Yelp
Had visited friends out in Santa Barbara last month and had an amazing experience here. The rooms were very accommodating and very clean. The front desk staff very helpful and kind. Also on top of all this upon leaving realized left Apple Watch in room. Calles and they had staff lloro for and was able to have friend stop by and ship to me. The point being they were very honest and helpful in the matter too return watch to me.

Yelp
We stayed here this weekend because we were in town for a wedding. We went swimming our first night. Multiple employees came to ask us for our room number to check that we were actually guests.. and then continued by striding back and forth in the hall watching us, which is annoying when you are trying to enjoy the pool. Well we were in the pool when we saw a huge rat hanging out in the tree right above the hot tub. The rat ran right behind us, two three inches from us. My mother in law yelled and went to tell the employee who had been strolling the hall watching us, and HE IGNORED IT! Crazy. We then got out of the pool and went back into the room, where I started to break out in rashes All over my body. I had to go to the emergency room because my throat and lips were going numb as well This hotel is terrible and I highly advise not staying here. We paid over $300 a night for a very nasty experience. The entire situation was terrible and we didn't even make it to the wedding sad to say.
