We enjoyed a three night stay on June 21-23. Rooms were lovely and quiet. On site free parking was nice. Hotel restaurant was very good and guests received $15 off when changing meal to room. Outdoor pool was great. Our 12 year old had a blast. Everyone involved in guest services was Phenomenal.

This was a beautiful property. The rooms were immaculate. We had everything we needed, including wood for the kiva, which we lit every night. I'm from Cincinnati, and there was a horrible heatwave going on while we were cozy and comfy in Santa Fe. The pool was beautiful. The bar was being renovated, but they had a temporary bar area, and it was so fun. Chris, the bartender was fabulous and Arturo, the bar manager was also great. The hotel was close to everything. We had a splendid time and will certainly stay here again when in town.

We stayed three nights in a Deluxe Room with a Kiva fireplace. The room was spacious and clean with a comfortable couch and armchair, plus a functional desk / chair at which to work. There was both a full bathroom along with a separate sink / vanity area. Plenty of closet space with robes available. The only downside was that we found the mattress a bit soft – but that’s a matter of preference and we had no trouble sleeping.||The free parking in downtown Santa Fe really sets this place apart. And – at ages 71 and 68, each with a knee replacement – we easily walked everywhere. About ten minutes to The Plaza with all its shops, along with the Loretto Chapel, Georgia O’Keefe Museum, Santa Fe School of Cooking, and other sights in that area.||The included breakfasts each morning were excellent with a variety of menu choices. On two nights we ate at the adjoining Del Charro restaurant – once for full dinners and once for drinks and appetizers – and found both the food and atmosphere enjoyable. (And the $15 credit each night as a hotel guest didn’t hurt.)||Another great feature (particularly as we were there in the cold of late January) was the afternoon sherry reception in the lobby. We visited with several couples who said they had been coming to the Inn of the Governors for years – over a decade for one couple. And we can see why. This is definitely the place we will return should we ever be back in Santa Fe.||In closing, a thumbs-up to Kenneth, who ran the reception desk on the evenings of our stay. We didn’t need anything because everything was already taken care of so well, but Kenneth was just a friendly, fascinating guy to spend time talking to.

The location was great for visiting the old town of Santa Fe. All within walking distance. Breakfast was great , made to order. Don’t see that in most hotels. The pool area was quaint. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was because the room was tight for a family of 4 traveling. Also understanding how space is a challenge in a downtown area, the parking lot was tight. Better for subcompact cars. Better be a good driver with excellent parking skills.

I stayed at Inn of the Governors with my girlfriends for a long-awaited girls trip, and it completely exceeded our expectations. From the moment we checked in, the warmth and hospitality were unmatched. The staff made us feel welcome, relaxed, and right at home.||The rooms were spacious, clean, and full of Southwestern charm—think cozy robes, kiva-style fireplaces, and beautiful local touches throughout. The location couldn’t be better—right in the heart of downtown Santa Fe! We walked everywhere: the plaza, shops, art galleries, and restaurants were all just steps away.||We especially loved the daily Sherry & Biscochitos happy hour (such a sweet touch!) and the delicious breakfast each morning. Bonus points for the outdoor heated pool—it was perfect for a relaxing dip after a full day of exploring.||Inn of the Governors was the perfect home base for our Santa Fe adventure. If you're planning a girls trip, romantic getaway, or solo escape, do yourself a favor and stay here. We’ll absolutely be back!

We first stayed at Inn of the Governors in June 2023 and had a great experience. Decided to go back this summer (June 2025) and had an equally fantastic experience. The location can't be beat. It's 2-3 blocks from the Plaza. There are so many restaurants, so much shopping and beautiful walks in every direction from Inn of the Governors. We booked a Traditional Room through the hotel's website but were upgraded, when we checked in, to a balcony room. It was such a wonderful surprise. The room was beautiful and it was such a treat to have a balcony. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, the pool is lovely and the restaurant, located in the hotel, had great food and friendly service. I can't wait to get back to Santa Fe and will definitely stay at Inn of the Governors when we do.

Inn of the Governors||We just celebrated our 50th anniversary, and we did it in Santa Fe at the Inn of the Governors. To start, we have been enjoying Santa Fe for decades, and just saying, we have stayed just about everywhere there, a few places more than once. We finally decided to give Inn of the Governors a try. We chose them because they are very close to our favorite restaurants, and they have onsite free parking. They also have a nice complementary breakfast and a $15 daily bar credit. ||Anyway, we booked a nice big room with a balcony for our 50th. Unfortunately, Dan, the manager, informed us upon our arrival that the A/C was down in our chosen room. Technicians were working on it. We could stay in a lower priced room - smaller and no balcony. ||We were bummed, but the reception staff was kind and apologetic and they gave us a free bottle of Prosecco in ice, so we were happy. The room was immaculate and cool, and the Prosecco went down easy after the afternoon heat. And Dan gave us a most attractive discount. ||The next day the news got worse. Our original room was down for the duration. Dan was again very apologetic. He gave us options, all of which were outstanding. Long story short, we ended up happily staying in our smaller room. Without going into detail, the management of Inn of the Governors treated us quite nicely for the turn of events. I can HONESTLY say we have never been so graciously treated, ever, in all of our many years of extensive travels. Inn of the Governors really made our 50th better than we could have imagined, and we are deeply thankful for their classy and professional treatment.||We are looking forward to the next time we can stay at the Inn of the Governors. In our vast experience, they are absolutely the best place to stay in Santa Fe.

We had a great stay at the Inn of the Governors. Centrally located, it's easy to walk to the main sites, shops and restaurants. The made-to-order breakfasts were wonderful, with lighter options like yoghurt, fruit, etc. available. Book directly with the hotel and get a $15/day credit at the bar/restaurant (it's like getting a free margarita everyday!). I also liked the sherry and cookies reception everyday.|It was the small things that make this property stand out. Oversized, thick bath towels, fluffy bathrobes that fit a big guy like me, real glass glasses and coffee mugs in the room (rather than flimsy plastic cups and cardboard coffee cups). We were very comfortable in our room.|We booked the executive suite. Because it was summer, we didn't need the fireplace, so take this into consideration when booking. Also, the balcony just overlooked the parking lot, so we didn't really need to have this. All in all, this is a great place to stay and the staff were friendly and wonderful. Well done, Inn of the Governors!

Yelp
The Inn of Govenors is what a hotel in any historic area should be. Very nice, helpful and polite staff at the front counter to greet you. There is a bar with really good food inside for dinner and a night cap after traveling. The breakfast "cooked to order" was as advertised and did not disappoint. The room was decent. It was not five star by any stretch but very nice for an older hotel in a historic district. Heat worked great on the cold January night we stayed. The room was clean and staff didn't skimp on complimentary room items like soap, shampoo, coffee etc. The room was decorated in appropriate New Mexico styling. If asked for a specific critique we'd have to say the bathroom. A Drop ceiling and shower tile in need of new grout wasn't super appealing, but staff kept the room very clean. Outside of that we'd have nothing but positive to say. The location is perfect. Minutes to walk to anywhere in the plaza we wanted to walk. Safe and relaxing. Easy self parking & quiet stay.

Yelp
very nice hotel on West Alameda only a couple of blocks from the plaza. This time my room is on the backside of the detached building which at first I wasn't thrilled about except discovered It has a lovely little patio right outside your door that is for your exclusive use. Vines on the wall and a little table and chairs where you could have a glass of wine. very basic room with not much Santa Fe personality but it's clean. It's spacious and the beds are comfortable. The rooms in the main building are definitely more charming as they have a fireplace that is woodburning. Very cozy in the winter time. The main building does show some love from over the years. But it just has this warm something about breakfast is OK and the regular menu is OK. very nice front desk staff. They have a little happy hour from 4 PM to 5 PM serving Sherry and Biscochitos. A Mexican version of the Italian biscotti. i've stayed here three times and have been pleased on each visit. Definitely recommend room 105.

Yelp
A most comfortable ad enjoyable stay at the Inn of the Governors. To begin, you are greeted with a New Mexico classic, biscochitos and sherry, then that happy hours reoccurs every day in the lobby from 4 to 5pm. The lobby is a comfortable meeting place with a toasty fireplace and a nice place to compare notes with fellow travelers. Rooms are large, comfortable, well-appointed and quiet. a cooked to order breakfast included with your room. Free parking in their lot -- a real bonus so near the Plaza. ...and the staff, Deb, Ken and Bea were so helpful, welcoming, and knowledgeable. They worked their magic to accommodate us during the recent snowstorm with modifications to our reservations. While there are other luxury hotels in the Plaza district, I would gladly stay here on the next visit.

Yelp
Had a wonderful time at the Inn of the Governors. Everything was very clean and comfortable and the location can't be beat! Such a cute property and the complimentary full-service breakfast was phenomenal! We enjoyed huevos rancheros and breakfast tacos. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Santa Fe. I love the New Mexican charm here. The staff are impeccably courteous and really seem to care if you are having a pleasant stay. The rooms have a lot of locally themed art and even things like the ice bucket and tissue box are hammered metal for extra ambiance. Breakfast is included in your stay and it's NOT one of those cheapy continental breakfasts where the eggs are watery and Greece is dripping off a pan of overcooked sausages. It's made to order and in my opinion it's just the right serving size Oh and if you're here don't forget to join other guests in the lobby for nightly sherry served with cinnamon sugar cookies, nuts, and dried fruits.

Yelp
I recently went on a getaway to Santa Fe with a friend, and we chose to stay at the Inn of the Governors. Despite the fact that is it not a fancy hotel in any way, I think it really enhanced our stay in Santa Fe. I'll first mention the few negatives to get them out of the way. The rooms are small, and walls are thin. I found the rooms comfortable, but they could have definitely used a balcony of sitting area, as I found our room to be a place for sleep only. The decorations in the room were cute and seemed to be locally made, but the room was just too small to want to spend much time in. Also, I was woken up on Monday morning, by some garbage of delivery truck in the parking lot banging around. Aside from that, the Inn is really lovely. It is an old second generation, family run inn in the center of Santa Fe. We could walk everywhere... restaurants, shops, arts district, and the Farmer's Market. The staff is especially friendly, and they take extra interest in their guests. They gave us lots of recommendations for the area. They have a cozy lobby with a fireplace where I enjoyed spending some time reading and writing. There is a pool that is heated, and a cozy area surrounding area. I did wish they had a hot tub. Their daily "happy hour" is very special. From 4-5 PM, they serve biscochitos (NM state cookie) and two types of sherry in the lobby. You can enjoy it in the lobby, or outside by the pool. We went to this two of the days we were there, and really enjoyed meeting other hotel guests. The happy hour provided a sense of community... and the sherry and cookies were very good. Hotel guests get a made-to-order breakfast every morning that is served in the downstairs dining room and cooked by the restaurant that is connected to the restaurant (Del Charro). I liked some of the breakfast items more then others. The omelette was my favorite (great texture and flavor). There breakfast tacos (greasy) were my least favorite. The hotel itself is probably more of a 3-star hotel, but the sense of welcoming and community deserves and extra star.

Yelp
A nice little piece of New Mexican history. Not too much to see so a short stop. My fav part of the exhibit space was actually to piece about diners and dives at the very front.

Yelp
Room was enjoyable, spacious and well decorated. Free sherry and cookies from 4-5. Parking can be an issue. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Location is perfect. checkin was a breeze. Definitely worth the cost

Yelp
Best green Chile stuffed burger ever. The meat is grass fed and so well seasoned. And the green Chile relish is amazing. Wish they would sell it by the jar.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our stay here. The pluses: Very nice staff -- everyone we met was friendly and helpful. Good location very near the Plaza. Free parking. Free made-to-order breakfast. Very fun welcoming treat of cookies and sherry. Nice, clean room with a comfortable bed. Adorable decor. Filtered water available in the lobby which we helped ourselves to often. The restaurant -- in addition to providing free breakfast, Del Charro is a popular night spot and we had drinks and snacks here a couple nights. Heated pool (we didn't use it though.) Lovely comfortable welcoming lobby. People were often sitting in the lobby handing out or playing cards or games. The minuses: Room was a bit dated/worn down and on the small side -- this was not at all a problem for us, but might be for others. For us, the cuteness of the decor made up for the slightly run-down vibe. I mention it only because many people expect a "brand new" vibe when they travel. Very weak water pressure. I have extremely thick hair so this is often a deal-breaker for me at hotels. It might not matter to people with less hair! But for me, whether I return to an otherwise very nice hotel hinges on being able to wash and rinse my hair thoroughly. It was very very hard to wash my hair here. Wood burning fireplace -- I had lots of allergies throughout the trip and the hallway in our part of the hotel often smelled like smoke. Our rental car got covered in ash. I'd assumed that it would be a gas fireplace and I'm not sure with the smoke I'd come back, but others might find love the romance of a wood burning fireplace. We really, really liked the hotel! If the "minuses" don't bother you, there are many more "pluses" and reasons to stay here!

Yelp
Great location, amazing customer service and a nice place to stay! We were driving through Santa Fe in route to Colorado and needed an overnight accommodation. This cute and quaint hotel was a pleasant surprise! As we drove up, we were greeted by Mike, the friendliest bell captain you will ever meet. The front desk staff was equally enthusiastic and welcoming to all guests. You are also given a sherry sampler tray with biscochittos (official state cookie!). Yum. The rooms were clean and warm, which we needed on a cold night. The beds were comfortable too. The location is stellar and walking distance from many downtown attractions. This helped us maximize our time while in Santa Fe. We had a lovely stay and hope you do too.

Yelp
Rooms are horribly outdated and cooling systems are very inconsistent. The parking situation also needs a lot of work. We would not stay here again- especially for the price.

Kathy K.

Yelp
Kind, friendly and respectful staff, updated rooms with super comfortable mattresses, pillows and towels. Our king room had a wood-burning fireplace, lots of flat surfaces to place your suitcases, and everything you need to be within reach like a nice desk and chair, 2 small tables and a chest with drawers and a mini fridge. The windows had beautiful lace curtains and a large room-darkening drape that really worked to keep the room dark in June when sunrise is before 5:30 am. The free breakfast was amazing---not a mediocre buffet, but full breakfast options from the menu. The free parking is excellent and you are about 1/4 a mile from at least 25 restaurants.
google avatar

Yelp
Super cute place. Great location. Nice indigenous art. Having said that * extreme Larry David voice. The wifi does not work. They stuck me in the dungeon below everything and neither my phone or computer can get a signal which is kinda bad when you have zooms for work. I tried the lobby and "computer room" as well. They should advertise that they don't have wifi bc it caused a bit of a problem for ya boi.

Yelp
Nice stay here. The pros- Great location Comfortable rooms in local decor Fireplaces in each room Great staff- friendly & helpful Free Booze and Cookies at check-in Awesome included breakfast- the huevos rancheros were spectacular, and everything cooked to order Heated Pool open year round Parking included The Cons- Not Cheap While having a fireplace in each room is really cool, it did give the entire hotel a camp-fire smell Even the suite with the sofabed gets pretty cramped for a family of 4

Yelp
After living in Santa Fe for a few years in the 2000s, it's always felt weird staying in a hotel when I visit. Fortunately, Inn of the Governors lived up to its stellar reputation for us over a few days on Spring Break. This place hit all the right notes for comfort, location, decor, and service. 4.5 stars. ROOM While some have balconies and kiva fireplaces, we had the standard setup. Beds were comfy, pillows soft, and the decor made this former Santa Fean feel right at home. One yardstick for me in gauging a hotel are the towels. Ours were among the softest/most absorbent offered us in a long time, better than the Bellagio's. Big props. LOCATION The Plaza's two blocks away and nothing in the touristy area area requires more than a short walk. PARKING It's private, fenced in, free and spacious, with both covered and open air spots wide enough for gapers in oversized SUVs to back in and get out without denting cars next to them. SERVICE Hotel staff blew me away with alacrity & courtesy. We felt welcome and appreciated. Everyone--front desk, bellhops, maids, and janitors--offered a friendly greeting and seemed genuinely willing to help. DEL CHARRO SALOON & BREAKFAST Free breakfast is made to order in the hotel restaurant. While the menu's short, the food was solid. Book directly w the hotel to get a $15/day credit for lunch or dinner. It's open late, a rarity in SFe. I had a delicious green Chile cheeseburger late one night at the bar--gratis. One gripe--service here was lackluster. Our impatient breakfast waiter gave sharp, one word answers and never came back to check on us. The nighttime bartender was courteous when he noticed me, but seemed more focused on commiserating with other locals about tourists. This may be the ultimate "local's" experience, btw... POOL It's advertised as heated to 86 degrees and open year-round. It was open. However, the water was too cold for comfort. I needed a hat and was cold if anything but my head broke the surface. My son, who was more excited about the hotel pool than anything else in town, was crushed. He simply couldn't tolerate the cold outside in such tepid water. Boo. Also, if it's cold out, there's no changing room when you're finished--choose betwen a chilly rush to dress poolside or run dripping inside to the lobby bathroom. Overall, we loved Inn of the Governors and would not hesitate to stay there again. We just won't count on using the pool if it's cold out.

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay at Inn of the Governors, charming hotel in the middle of all Santa Fe. Wonderful location, it's easy and close to walk to the Plaza, some museums, Canyon Road, shops, restaurants. The Yelp check in doesn't work, you won't get chips and guac at restaurant due to Covid! We got a King bed room, nice decor with local cultural touches, very comfortable and it has everything you need: fridge, coffee - maker, hair dryer. TV had some issues and the package is poor, but we didn't visit Santa Fe to watch TV! Just browsed the local channel for visitors. The water has pressure issues in the morning, it'd turn cold suddenly, but it's summer so we're cool. You ask for maid service when you want it during Covid, we did a few times to get towels and extra toiletries. Comfy room and not a noisy hotel comparing to others we stayed at! Upon check in you get a cute tray with 2 types of sherry, dried fruits and nuts and biscochitos, the local cinnamon cookies, a must try! I've heard that normally they have a Happy Hour at the reception with this kind of treats daily, not during Covid! (sad faces!). We enjoyed the welcoming gift! The lobby is cute and has a water fountain with filtered water, plastic cups to bring to your room or fill your bottle before you go! The pool is on the small size, but a cute area. Breakfast is included, delicious variants on eggs: scrambled, omelette-s, huevos rancheros, breakfast tacos, the lighter side: oatmeal, eggs, fruit cup, croissant/gluten free muffin. You won't go hungry! Great coffee and orange juice! Tried the grapefruit juice and it was OK. No buffet, they just take your order. Nice breakfast to start your day! You also get a $15 credit to Del Charro, the restaurant next door and we used it for dinner a couple of times (nice meals) and room service - dessert or a drink and it's a nice perk! It worked well for us! Free parking on the premises! Nice decor, cute flowers everywhere, great staff, James was fantastic, but everyone was nice, friendly and accommodating! Cute hotel in downtown Santa Fe, nice stay, great location, cool perks! I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

Yelp
Suuuuper clean with comfy beds, and the friendliest staff. I really appreciated with welcome cookies and brandy. It was very convenient to have a late night restaurant attached, we enjoyed our burgers there. The location is fantastic, only a couple blocks from downtown/shopping/restaurants. We would definitely stay again!

Yelp
Great room and wonderful people working at this hotel. Have stayed several times and it is amazing experience every time.

Yelp
First time visiting Santa Fe and we booked our stay at the Inn of the Governors! We loved staying here. The hotel is in the perfect location and you can walk the entire old town area. I loved the style and decor so much. Our room had a fireplace and we loved using it our final night! We will definitely stay here again. Such a cool hotel.

Yelp
My wife and I had a pleasant stay at the Inn on a late September Tuesday evening. Things started off great right away as we pulled in and were met by Mark. He was super helpful walking us in to check-in, directing us to a nearby open parking spot and bringing our bags up. We even got several good dining suggestions from him for dinner. Check-in was on the slow side as several folks were ahead of us asking questions and getting directions. Someone magically appeared from the back though and helped move things along if somewhat reluctantly. Things improved when we were handed our complimentary sherry and tea cookies as a welcome gift. We also got a $15 bar/restaurant credit for booking directly with the hotel. We used it after having dinner out for a couple of desserts to take back to the room. The lobby had a community jigsaw puzzle that we stopped at and worked on a bit before finally retiring to our room with our sweets. Speaking of the room, it was fabulous. The room was large with a king size bed in one half and a full size leather sofa, table and chair in the other. There was a wood burning fireplace in one corner and next to it a glass door out to a balcony with a couple of chairs. The room did have a smoky smell to it from the fireplace. It did dissipate quickly once we cracked the door open. The fireplace was setup in advance for us. Instructions were provided but basically make sure the flue was open and light the special fire starter packet and newspapers with the matches provided. We were good to go in no time and extra wood could be had in the hallway. The balcony overlooked a small parking lot and alley though we could see the state Capitol to one side in the distance I think. The bathroom was nothing too special. It did have two sinks, one in the bathroom proper and one just outside along with the mini bar and these cool shutters that opened into the main room area. The mini bar had a good selection of alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks at I thought unusually reasonable pricing. The shutters had mirrors on the back that proved useful when closed. The large flat screen TV was fine. There were the usual channels plus a half dozen HBO ones. There was a hair dryer along with an iron and ironing board. Power was lacking though on the nightstands by the bed. Breakfast was served in a large room off the pool area with trees, skylights and a nice wood burning fireplace. You order from a menu with a handful of complimentary dishes. The server brings everything to you except your coffee which is DIY. The food was fine and reminded me of what one would get from a typical breakfast buffet

Yelp
We were so pleased with our experience. The breakfast was lovely, the sherry/cookie hr was lovely and the staff were polite and accommodating. We had a room with a fireplace and it was very cozy. Will definitely stay here again!

Yelp
Can I give this inn a ten? Perfect stay at Inn of the Governors from check in to check out. Book over the phone or online for extras available only directly with the hotel and the lowest rates, guaranteed. Family owned and operated business that has given back to its employees from the beginning and still honors that legacy. It shows. The hotel is charming. Located perfectly in the heart of Santa Fe, it is walking distance to the top sites. From Canyon Road with its shops and outdoor sculptures to a dozen art museums, historic churches and the state capital, it is within a ten to fifteen minute walk. Rooms are so cute and comfy. Loved the cute details throughout, especially the Kiva fireplace in our upgraded balcony suite. Firewood and the easiest fire starters guarantee a perfect fire every night. Extra firewood is available near the elevators. Rate includes complimentary daily breakfast. Order from a variety of options including chilaquiles, breakfast tacos, huevos rancheros and more. Coffee, tea, milk and a variety juices included. Breakfast is brought to your room on a silver plattersealed and piping hot. Nice to enjoy breakfast on the balcony of our room. Don't forget to tip your servers. Extras included free parking, nightly snacks and a daily $15 dining credit that is only available by booking directly with the hotel to Del Charro. The snacks included biscochitos, which are so yummy, sherry, dried fruits, and Marcona almonds. Order the blue corn enchiladas with an egg on top and a corn chowder soup for dinner. Hotel is eco friendly, so no water bottles available, but they will bring a Keurig if you ask. Mask required, hand sanitizer throughout and social distancing enforced. No inside dining. Thanks to Barry for the maps and local tips on what to see and to Lisa for her help booking our room and for faxing documents as well. Perfect stay. Would definitely recommend and hope to come back.

Yelp
Stayed here 1 Friday night during quarantine and have never had better service! They upgraded us from a traditional to deluxe king room right off the bat, which has a cozy fireplace and balcony that we used! Free parking downtown is nice too. The free sherry hour was replaced by room service cheese plate and wine! The $15 off Del Charro was well spent on 2 green chili cheese burgers and a chocolate mousse cake slice! A little over done for medium. Tip your runner! And lastly, we were checking out earlier than breakfast was served so they let us put in our order and kept it in the fridge for us to grab when we checked out! The breakfast burritos were huge and the green chili salsa was soooo good. Best service and great location (we walked around downtown and the river)! Would like to come back and enjoy the pool, the margs and sit down in Del Charro when this is all over with.

Yelp
Been coming to the restaurant inside the hotel for 30 years as it's been one of my families favorite spots in town. Had the most awful experience recently with a parking staff member and the assistant general manager Deb. As I drove into the parking lot, instead of being greeted and welcomed, the parking guy knocked on the windshield of my car and asked rudely, "are you a guest here"? He was aggressive and I had the feeling he was profiling me and my car. I told him I was going to the restaurant and he brashly told me, "make a you-turn and leave. You can't park here". Say what? I've been coming here for literally decades and have never been told this or treated with such disrespect. It's disheartening to frequent an establish so much and be suddenly treated like a criminal by a new parking staff member. I felt the Inn at the Governor's manager should be aware of his rude demeanor. As I was parking and letting him know I was going to the lobby to speak with a manager he followed me closely and began to harass me. I asked him to please stop and back up but he refused. It's just a parking spot! This man acted as if I was dangerous and the safety of others depended on him following me closely. I'm a small framed woman and I felt very intimidated by his hostile behavior. When I arrived to the lobby he cut me off as I was walking up to the manager and shouted, "she needs to leave. She's not a guest". Without even letting me utter a word she rolled her eyes and told me I needed to leave. Such a stark contrast from the general manager Sam who I saw the week before. He asked me, "are you going to the restaurant?" When I replied, yes he said, "Welcome! Enjoy". Here's the reality, I completely understand if Inn at the Governors didn't have enough parking spaces because there was a folk market that evening. That's not the issue, the issue is how the parking staff and Deb conveyed that message. Quite frankly, a security staff member acting like RoboCop doesn't particularly surprise me. What did surprise me was the condescending and dismissive attitude of the assistant manager. It's unfortunate that they treat local Santa Fean's with such distain. Hotel guests are visitors and paying a premium to stay, so I understand if they get priority parking. But what Deb doesn't understand, is that locals are the heart and soul of this beautiful city. I assure you, that the amount of money we spend consistently going to that restaurant surpasses tourists. During Covid, it was locals who kept the restaurant industry alive. What's even more heartbreaking, is the person I was meeting at Del Charro for dinner pulled into the same parking lot after me in a high end BMW. He was not followed and harassed by the Robocop or even asked, "are you a guest here"? Moral of the story, Inn at the Governor's profiles people and no longer cares about maintaining a relationship with local Santa Fean's.

Yelp
Great place..quiet, good service, loved the fireplace in the room! We will stay again when in Santa Fe.

Yelp
Repeat customer and customer no more. Breakfast staff took liberty of modifying my tip up after dining. Customer care and experience overall was not great. Additionally they no longer clean room until after you've checked out. I will not stay here again.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed 4 nights. The location is excellent. It is easy to walk all over downtown Santa Fe. The room was attractively furnished, with comfortable beds, soft linens, fluffy pillows, top notch toiletries, and comfy robes. The staff are so welcoming! I cannot say enough about Sam, the general manager, who greated us, helped us to our room, and gave excellent dining suggestions. The breakfast is hearty and is included in the room rate. We highly recommend!

Yelp
We stayed for a week here and really enjoyed our stay. The complementary breakfast is the best part - it is really good. The staff is super nice and James, the parking attendant, is super friendly and welcoming and will ask how your day was each evening. The place is clean and they were really strict about following Covid protocols. This hotel is walkable to anything in the plaza and to really all you'd need while in Santa Fe if you don't have a car. We will be coming back!

Yelp
We had a staycation in Santa Fe and gave this place a try. It was perfect. They greeted us with some samples of wine and biscochitos! We arrived a couple hours before check in and asked if there was anyway to check in early and they were More than accommodating! We let your girls swim at the pool which they absolutely loved. The on-site restaurant was great as well, we had dinner there as well as breakfast. It was made to order breakfast and not a breakfast bar. The room we had was every bit of a Spanish style casita, very cozy. We will be staying here again next time we are in Santa Fe!!

Yelp
We have been staying here every couple of years since 1987. Just recently stayed for 3 nights during the Wine and Chili festival. It is always awesome! Breakfast is included and it is spectacular. Also you have a $15 per day credit to use for drinks or lunch or dinner. The rooms are clean and decorated in tasteful New Mexican style. There's a pool and free parking. 2 blocks from the plaza. Perfect in every way. Book it. You'll be happy you did.

Yelp
The is a Destination hotel to me. From the well-appointed rooms to the stellar service, it is obvious that the Inn tries it best to give you the best experience possible. Ask for anything. They will make it happen! They offer a $15 voucher each day for Del Charro, a Primo restaurant that is already very reasonable and with a great selection of food and drinks. Mornings, you order whatever you want for breakfast. Evenings are quiet and the Kiva fireplace is cozy. You can gaze out over the courtyard walk the Plaza. SO much is in walking distance AND you get Free parking right on the Plaza. Sherry Flight Package awaits you with accompaniments like Biscochitos - the best Sherry and Biscos I've ever had! I wish I could take them home with me. When I had car trouble, Alejandro offered to help and would not accept a tip. There are many ways that each staff person I encountered went above and beyond their call of duty to make sure I was MORE than happy. Thanks you Justin, Jenn, Mya and many others. Service is like comfort food. I like feeling at home away from home. I could hang out in the foyer overstuffed sofas and sip a cocktail and no one would bother me. Perhaps, as this COVID crisis eases, they'll bring back the tea and sherry in the afternoon. I miss the connecting and conversations with the group as we casually lounged and shared stories while sipping and supping. Inn of the Governors, you make me so happy! I look forward to gazing upon the gorgeous trademark floral boxes in full bloom each year.

Yelp
Absolutely stellar hotel. Rooms are huge and well appointed. Staff is incredibly nice and knowledgeable. Vibe is warm and breakfast is included in the room. Restaurant is huge and good. No need to go out if you don't want to. Only downside is the pool and pool area are two small and there were so many little kids in it and people reserving chairs, who weren't there, that it really annoyed me. The only other downside is the showers. The bathrooms need some renovation. The water pressure is very weak and the condition of the showers is not great. Also, parking is a bit of a pain. The spaces and the configuration of the spaces is terrifying. Otherwise, I would stay there again.

Yelp
This place is very friendly service, nice south western decor, and reasonable prices for it's location. The only thing I would change are the horrible pillows. Please get some quality pillows! The free breakfast that came with the hotel was very good.

Yelp
If you eat at the restaurant be aware that they can't split the check. This was a problem for our party of 12. The food was good but not worth the hassle. When we went to our rooms, the hallways were full of smoke to the point where we could not see. I went back to the lobby, but our concerns were dismissed. My clothes smell like smoke now. This place is awful.

Yelp
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff. Location is great Cons: PARKING LOT- spaces are EXTREMELY tight, basically no room to open doors once you've parked. ROOM- our room was not in the main building it was located in a separate annex. The room was the first one right next to the entrance. I don't know what the main building rooms are like but ours was definitely more in the motel than hotel category. You could hear people coming in and out at all hours. The walls are paper thing. Brown water was coming out of the faucets and toilet at one point. We were told that's just how they get the water from the city and to let it run for a bit til it was clear. TV was pretty old and didn't get a clear picture. While that's not usually a big deal on vacation, everything closes pretty early so there's not much else to do in the evening. The best thing about the room was the wood burning fireplace. Not worth the hefty price tag. I understand this place older but I have stayed at another equally as old hotel/motel that is similarly priced but infinitely more comfortable all the way around. In desperate need of some TLC, a re-lined parking lot, or a lower price point.

Yelp
Small snafu and delay at checking in but James is the star of this classic southwest themed hotel. With so many hotels to pick from this one has a great location, nice rooms, and unlike any other hotel - this place has James who greeted me the moment I arrived and every time he saw me. Quality customer service!!

Yelp
Interesting Hotel. Parking was a bit crowded but worked out since once we found a good spot we just left our car there and walked around town. One great thing was Breakfast, came with the room and they cooked to order from a decent menu. We were also surprised that we got a $15 credit each day we stayed, applied to their restaurant or bar. We had some great margaritas on their dime. Close to the square, made checking the city out real easy. Prices in many restaurants in the area were WAY more than we expected. The city was not a place we will go back to, did not enjoy the narrow streets.

Yelp
This is my absolute favorite hotel in Santa Fe. My family has stayed here for pretty much my entire life and it is always the most enjoyable experience. Inn of the Governors is not your chain hotel. It has an old school feel. The rooms are cozy. Many of the rooms have their own kiva style fireplaces with plenty of dry wood. They are also adorned with tin work all around as well as framed art on the walls. The lobby is cozy as well. They have a happy hour where they serve you their own sherry and cookies. Nice touch! The restaurant is good though often crowded. They give you your own carafe when you order the margarita. And they're good! Rumor has it that the hotel is up for sale. Hopefully it won't change, but I'll enjoy it til the end. Thank you Inn of the Governors for all the memories and great service! The staff is awesome!

Yelp
Superb in every way!! I'm usually a Marriott girl, but this place has me thinking small boutique hotels are the way to go! James greeted us in the entry with all the friendliness and NM coolness anyone could ask for! The lobby and pool were decorated with perfection for a Santa Fe welcome. The rooms were fun and different the free parking paired with a fantastic walkable location made this 10 stars! We absolutely loved our stay here!

Yelp
Nice comfortable semi quiet establishment. Small, but very accommodating, needs some updating but that may take away from its uniqueness. Could have some Holidays decorations up, it is Thanksgiving week. You can hear all showers that adjoin your room. Beds were very comfortable, all accoutrements were first class. Parking is a headache. All in all we enjoyed our stay.

Yelp
Lovely little hotel in the heart of Santa Fe. Upon arrival we were greeted by the kindest most enthusiastic man named James - he directed us where to go and made sure we had a great parking spot. First impressions are always important- and this hotel should do everything they can to keep him around. The staff here has been so very kind - and the rooms are wonderful and the included morning breakfast is delicious. Great coffee and the pool area is quite charming. Everything is very clean and well cared for. Walking distance to all of your favorite Santa Fe shops and restaurants. 5 stars.

Yelp
What a beautiful, quaint place to stay! Oozes charm! Very friendly staff. The decor is SW and unique with tile, pierced tin, rustic iron, Spanish lace curtains. Very comfy beds, lovely water glasses and tin-topped ice bucket, and even the Kleenex box is tin. The shower gel, hair products smell lovely! This is not a slick, cookie-cutter, mod-perfect place. This is very Sante Fe! I did struggle with the noise of the huge linen bins that they wheel down the sidewalk right outside our window, thundering by, and the whole while I enjoyed the outdoor patio in morning, 2 staff members chatted loudly close-up. I just wanted a little peace and quiet. Breakfast was yummy and complimentary. Speaking of that, last night at 5 pm they provided a sherry tasting, with a plate of dried fruit and NM cookies, like snickerdoodles with a touch of anise. We enjoyed this repast by the closed pool. Thanks covid. Thank you to the to wonderful staff!

Yelp
And, while I understand that Queen of the parking lot, may sound like a dubious complement, it is not. If you have ever rolled in off several hours on the road to find a crowded, tight lot and have no idea how to proceed, until a friendly face appears in your window, genuinely curious about your condition and how she can help, then, guides you, expertly in to a a safe spot for the night, like a new-born foal into if's cozy stall... then, you too, will bow to your queen.

Yelp
The staff is amazing. The rooms are cozy and reminiscent of the old west. My room has a fireplace! The bar is excellent and the food is delicious. I will definitely stay here time and time again.

Yelp
This hotel is absolutely the best with customer service. They think of everything and make sure your experience in the hotel, including parking, and in the restaurant/bar keep you coming back. the beds are the best and you really feel like you're in a southwest establishment with the authentic decor. The location is excellent to downtown shops and other restaurant. we will definitely be back again.

Yelp
Wonderful experience. We loved our room, the beds were comfortable, high quality linens and a choice of pillows. The included breakfast is all one could want--oatmeal, croissant, breakfast tacos, huevos rancheros! The pool was a great way to relax after walking all day. Special shout out to Robert, the parking lot attendant extraordinaire! He was always so cheerful and helpful, I will go back just to say hi!

Yelp
I can't wait to go back. We went in Feb when there was still snow on the ground and the looks and smells of the chimneys going were so quaint, comforting and home-ly. The design and decorations of the Inn were gorgeous. The hotel was a complete 5 stars. We walked the 30 seconds to the restaurant and sat for drinks. They were exceptionally busy with V-day. My husband and I order our drinks. His drink comes and he reminds them of my drink and he'd like to order wings. Wings come and he reminds them of my drink and if he can get another drink himself. They bring his drink and again forget mine. Manager is flagged and I get my drink. This whole encounter took an hour because again, they were super busy and understaffed on top of it. The breakfast... OMG the breakfast *mouth salivates* lol Best complimentary breakfast anywhere, hands down! Will not disappoint. And the restaurant service was perfect this time. It's beautiful hotel and I'll drive 12 hours just to stay here again. It's perfectly located, clean, THE BREAKFAST, it has a bar on site... what more can you ask for?
