We had a fantastic stay here! Debbie and her crew take such great care of their houseguests. The breakfasts were delicious, the house was fully stocked for all of our needs, the beach bag with fluffy towels were appreciated, as was the beach chairs and umbrella for the beach across the street. We stayed in the Quisset Harbor room. While it was not the largest room, it was quite cozy and decorated nicely. We loved our stay and hope to return next year!

My husband and I just spent 5 nights at this special B and B. It was absolutely perfect. Lovely room, great water pressure and good overall comfort, with a private balcony looking at the ocean and Martha’s Vineyard in the distance. The breakfasts were varied and absolutely scrumptious and generous. Fresh baked cookies everyday and a self-serve facility during off hours that has thought about everything one could possibly need ( tea & coffee; drinks, corkscrews, glasses, fridge) Lisa and her team are friendly and fantastic at making this inn work like a well-oiled machine! It was all divine. Extremely well located to get to anywhere easily on the Cape. Thank you for a great experience!!

My husband and I are currently staying here! We have loved our stay so much we already booked next year in July. The location is INCREDIBLE. Right across the street from the beach. There are two great restaurants in walking distance, and shopping is only a 5 minute drive. The rooms are clean and gorgeous. The staff is so friendly! They have thought of everything. Fresh beach towels to take to the beach with you every morning as well as a beach bag to carry everything in! Fresh pastries, which are absolutely to die for! And the breakfast in the morning delicious. We can’t wait to come back next year!! Kaitlyn and Derek

We Loved Our Stay at The Inn on the Sound! Comfortable Beds and Pillows. The Views of Martha's Vineyard were Beautiful. Debbie The Innkeeper and Lisa cooked the most delicious Breakfast each day along with Yogurt, Fruit, Cereal, Oatmeal and a Home Baked Bread! Plenty of options to choose from. The cookies in the afternoon were a nice treat and delicious. The living room was cozy with the fireplace lit! I could not Have found a better place to stay for celebrating so much! Debbie is quite the Gardener the patio had Beautiful Flower's in all the pots. We loved to sit out front on the deck overlooking the Ocean. The room and the Inn are so peaceful!! We would Definitely Stay again!! Thank you to Debbie, Lisa, Luis and the girls for a wonderful stay!

My wife and I rented a large room at Inn on the Sound for our wedding on the Cape and were absolutely thrilled with our stay. The room we stayed in (Oyster Pond) was stunning with beautiful views of the ocean and Martha’s Vineyard. You cannot beat the location. The service was excellent and the breakfast was outstanding. We were so grateful for the extra attention the staff at Inn on the Sound paid to us, leaving us a congratulatory note and treats on our check in day and going above and beyond to host and feed my wife and her bridesmaids as they got ready on our wedding day. We had an incredible experience at Inn on the Sound and highly recommend it for anyone interested in staying in Falmouth.

We stayed in the Great Harbor room for 3 nights, and wished that it was for much longer! We arrived to a surprise of chocolate dipped strawberries and Prosecco in our room in celebration of our anniversary; totally unexpected, and lovely!!! The view from the room/private deck is absolutely gorgeous......what a view to awaken to every morning!! Watching the ferries and fishing boats come and go, the ever changing light & water, as well as a full moon rising over the ocean one night, made for a continuously captivating panorama. Our room and bathroom were very comfortable, and quiet (with the exception of some very loud talkers in the room below one night), and although there's a busy road between the inn and the water the traffic tapered off nicely at night. The managers and staff at the inn were so friendly and welcoming, and provided outstanding service! Breakfast was wonderful each morning, and their system of allowing you to choose your breakfast items, and time, the day before, is the best one we've experienced. The availability of refrigerator space for personal items was much appreciated, and is not something we've found in most inn/B&B's that we've stayed at. I really could go on, but will stop here. Overall, I highly recommend the Inn On The Sound, and we definitely plan to go back!!

The Inn on the Sound is a clean and beautiful inn with friendly, hospitable hosts. We were there for 3 nights and the breakfasts each morning were fabulous and plentiful. The fresh baked cookies every afternoon were a delicious, sweet treat. We stayed in the Great Harbor room and the view from the room was amazing. We did have a slight issue during our visit, however the staff did not hesitate to correct it and went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. If future travel plans ever take us back to Falmouth, we will jump at the chance to stay at the Inn on the Sound again.

We had a short window for a getaway for our 20th wedding anniversary and planned a little trip to Falmouth/Woods Hole. We stayed in the Green Harbor room, which was bright and breezy with a deck overlooking the water. It was perfect for our night away!! We arrived to find champagne and strawberries chilling with a Haopy Anniversary message, which was such a lovely surprise!! Though we were only there for one night we were very impressed with the care taken to make the guest experience positive- quick response to a question we had about bike storage and early-check in, cookies and soft drinks available in the main area, lovely amenities in the room (water, lip balm, chocolate). We both would go back in a heartbeat!!

Yelp
We just stayed there for our fourth time. Staff welcoming and want to make your experience great. Our room had outdoor deck and small kitchen. Breakfast is a treat with a few choices. There is always a freshly baked sweet treat waiting for you in the afternoon. There are areas on the first floor to relax. Last night a wood burning fire was going in the fireplace. I will be back again next year. You won't be disappointed staying at this lovely inn.

Mike S.

Yelp
Inn on the Sound was perfect for a quick mother/daughter getaway. Impeccably designed, clean, and quiet. Amazing attention to detail and "extras" like homemade cookies daily. Love the out-of-the way location which is across from the beach where we read for hours and then grabbed a cocktail and snack at a local place a few places down. Then, it's a quick drive to downtown Falmouth and Woods Hole. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Been here three times. In a February, April and in May. Great scenery! Wonderful inn on the sound overlooking Martha's Vineyard. Very nice hostess, owner, and cook. Really felt like I was staying at a friends place for the weekend. Plenty of parking. Plenty of places year round to go eat see and do. Clean rooms. Been in one room twice and was upgraded during our last stay. No negatives whatsoever. A great and relaxing stay and very nice to meet other travelers and sit around the fireplace and chat over coffee. Highest of recommendations.

Yelp
I've never stayed at a B&B, I didn't know what to expect. If all B&B are like this, I'll never do timeshare again. Simple check in, plenty of parking in front and back. Amazing views of the water from the patio in our room and the front patio. Well stocked fridge of complimentary drinks. There was fresh baked white chocolate macadamia nut cookies that were made by the staff, delicious. Breakfast was amazing, there was French toast that day. Spotless clean at the Inn and in the rooms. Very comfortable king bed and pillows. We were in the Nobska Point room. My only complaint is that I can't give more than 5 Stars. Book your room already!

Michelle S.

Yelp
I was very hesitant picking a bed and breakfast, since this was a birthday gift for my husband. We came in on Tuesday around 430pm and was greeted right away by Cathy, she gave us our key and showed us around and to our room. We walked into the oyster pond room and we thought it was beautiful, especially the view. The room was warm due to the air not being on and it smelled like mildew. We bought a scented candle to take that minor scent away. We had an enjoyable breakfast every morning, they offer a different egg dish, with fruit, granola, yogurt, cake, croissants, etc. There was a fridge full of beverages each day. On our 3rd day we met another innkeeper Marti, who was also a gem. Our rooms were well kept and all the staff was lovely. We'd recommend this place to friends.

Jenni F.

Yelp
Beautiful place by the sea! Wonderful rooms and ambiance! Great Inn keeper, Lisa. Place is spotless and modern "ocean" decor. The breakfast is amazing! Highly recommended!

Bo N.

Yelp
cozy, relaxing trip! Very clean and well kept inn, everyone was so friendly and breakfast was delicious. Definitely worth it!

Kyle C.

Yelp
This is an amazing spot. If you are looking for a quaint, welcoming stay with waterfront views, BOOK IT. Debbie was extremely friendly over the phone and very personable. The room was clean and well put together. The staff and environment were so COVID friendly and it was a very safe environment. Everything was immaculately clean in the common areas and they were able to somehow keep their guests safe while making us forget there was a pandemic. On this road you can see Nantucket the whole strip. You can also see the island from most of the rooms. It truly felt like we were on the edge of the earth at some times with the high tide. Thank you Debbie and others behind the scenes for running a tight ship. We will be back; and for longer stay next! (We rented the Oyster room. One night stay, 1/16-1/17/21)

Marilyn S.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful Inn! The rooms were charming, clean and well stocked with whatever you might possibly need. The Inn keeper was so sweet and very helpful without being intrusive. Homemade cookies in the afternoon to a wonderful breakfast. I cannot say enough about the location, cleanliness and decor. They also have a refrigerator when you come in one of the doors where you can help yourself to drinks and store any food you might like kept cold. They have thought of everything.

Takeen F.

Yelp
Inn on the Sound is such a wonderful place to visit! I was there for an overnight in May, and can't wait to return. Even though the weather wasn't the best, we still enjoyed the peacefulness of the area and seeing the ocean across the street. The breakfast was amazing and if you needed anything, the Innkeeper was ready to help. The kitchen is fully stocked with coffees and water and other beverages in the fridge. The sitting room had games and books and other helpful information. There were oatmeal cookies when we arrived and yummy treats before we left too. The room was lovely with a little patio across from the water. Special thanks to Debbie for helping me find the perfect room and for accommodating me after I needed to cancel my original stay due to catching the flu. Hoping to return soon and enjoy more time at the Inn on the Sound!

Amy F.

Yelp
We spent the weekend at this beautiful inn and just loved everything about it. No stone is left unturned. The rooms are beautifully decorated, clean and comfy. The location is perfect. Breakfast in the morning is delicious right down to the watermelon cut into stars. Afternoon treats like homemade brownies are waiting for you when you return from your day's activities. A real gem, highly recommended.

Debra B.

Yelp
Wonderful, charming B&B in great location across the street from the water! The attention to detail is so nice -- delicious home-baked cookies, high end bath products, robe, beach goodies, etc. There really is nothing missing! The hosts, owners and staff are warm and thoughtful and obviously take pride is providing a great experience for guests. I lost an earring that had sentimental value.. sent a photo and several weeks later received a call that the earring had been found! Inn on the Sound sent my earing home to me in Virginia in a jewelry bag safe and sound. So thoughtful and kind! We will visit again when we are in MA!

Jackie H.

Yelp
If I could give the Inn on the Sound more than 5 stars, I would ~ it truly exceeded our expectations in every way! It's location is perfect, the Inn is beautiful and Debbie is amazing! The food was delicious, the staff and service was fabulous and the attention to detail was evident in all facets of our stay! Debbie was so pleasant and easy to deal with; we knew she was there if we needed anything but she seemed to anticipate our every need ~ and then some; all of the little "extras" were so thoughtful and very appreciated! The room we stayed in was absolutely beautiful and the view was...wow! A fridge and kitchen that was well stocked, plenty of parking, super clean common areas and guest rooms and very comfortable! We are already planning our next stay!

Mary M.

Yelp
My first bed and breakfast and truly a 5 star experience. With no detail overlooked, it is an experience worth every penny. The bed was absolutely amazing and the location perfect! Breakfast was wonderful. The innkeepers are extremely thoughtful in regards to Covid. Couldn't recommend more.

Mariana Z.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic. The place is beautiful and the staff could not be more welcoming. Their service is the right one for the place. We had an inconvenient with the key, they solved in 5 mins and with the best attitude and professionalism. The Inn it's absolutely impeccable (extremely clean and organized) which I so much appreciate. I absolutely adore staying there. We will come back, for sure. The house it's right in front of the beach. Close to the Main Street - you'll find great shopping stores and restaurants. The View from Inn on the Sound it's breathtaking. You'll wake up in the best mood looking and having breakfast in front of the ocean. You will not want to leave (ever). Thank you Inn on the sound.

Dana W.

Yelp
1st timer alert*** What an adorable B&B ! We booked same day (reminder it's Covid time) and Debbie was very accommodating and was happy to give us a room! Our Quissett Harbor room was quaint but facing the water and all you need for a few nights. The staff was amazing and the food was delicious, our breakfast was ready as soon as we requested and the frittata was delicious. As the name suggests, Right on the sound, beautiful view and great location. We would reccomend! Thank you very much Debbie and team!!

James S.

Yelp
I would definitely recommend inn on the sound. We stayed three days visiting while visiting cape cod. Everything was perfect. The room was very clean and everyone was very accommodating. This was my first time staying at a bed and breakfast. It turned out to be a wonderful experience.

T V.

Yelp
This was an amazing find! The room and bathroom are super comfortable and perfect for a night stay while visiting the cape! Breakfast was very yummy!!

Susan R.

Yelp
Beautiful location, you can't get closer to the water. We had the Oyster Pond room. It was beautifully decorated, and even though the bathroom was small, the amenites were lovely. I have two minor complaints. 1) no one explained the heating units and we were too hot when we went to bed and absolutely freezing when we awoke! The bed was comfy and we did not hear noise from other guests - which is always a concern to me. I peeked into a few of the other rooms and loved them all. Breakfast was more than generous with great coffee and excellent cranberry muffins and I loved the fresh mango, honeydew, and blueberries. The salmon souffle was more like quiche...just okay. We so appreciated access to the full-sized refrigerator that was well stocked with beverages for guests. 'Nice touch. 'Sorry we did not get to meet Howard, the owner, but Allisette (sp?) was terrific. We would return.

Laura M.

Yelp
Just came back from a short stay at the Inn on the Sound. Everything was perfect. The new owner John could not have been more accommodating and innkeeper Marti is lovely. We stayed in the Oyster Pond room and it is beautiful. Marti makes a different breakfast every morning and everything was delicious. We can't wait to book our next stay.

Emily P.

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay at the Inn on the Sound last week. It was just what we were looking for as a getaway during these crazy times. It was quiet, clean, and low-key. The breakfast was a great added touch. We will definitely be back.

Don P.

Yelp
This is the second time my girlfriend and I had stayed here at Inn on the Sound and we couldn't be happier. The rooms are immaculate and very cozy. The towels and linens are always clean and neat and the staff is very accommodating. Situated directly across the private beach, we were provided with beach towels and chairs for us to use. The breakfasts are always fantastic and there are little treats like homemade biscotti and a refrigerator full of beverages. It's a very quiet B&B where you can just relax and chill, either in your room, on the beach or on your balcony. If you want more of an adventure...there is plenty to do and see. The downtown area of Falmouth is abundant with all kinds of restaurants and shops for just about anything you want! I highly recommend staying here!

Mike L.

Yelp
This is a beautiful inn. Very friendly. Beautiful beaches. Don't hesitate to stay here . Great breakfast, and well decorated feels like home. Mike & Amy

Erin G.

Yelp
The owner is very accommodating and attentive, the rooms and the view are beautiful, and the food is also fantastic! Would definitely go back, the town is really cute as well and it's a nice place to go and relax.

Ana P.

Yelp
Cozy place to spend the weekend, but rude/inconvenient innkeeper that knocked on the door like crazy to let my husband know that someone was complaining of a "knocking on the wall noise" which wasn't coming from our room since we had heard the same noise, and had just arrived at the place. I guess she found out where the noise was coming from, but it was very inappropriate to knock on our door so loud making false accusations and then apologizing. I am very surprised that the owner would hire such an innkeeper for such a wonderful place to stay!

Rebecca A.

Yelp
Charming place with many thoughtful amenities. I was warmly welcomed and the host answered some questions about what to see in town. My room was upgraded since they weren't full. There are books and biscotti at all hours, crisp linens, beach accessories, and even lip balm in the room! Located across the street from the beach, but it feels like the house is floating on the water.

Rachel E.

Yelp
We had a sensational weekend stay at this little B&B! The owner literally could not be nicer or more accommodating. Our room was on the smaller side but we hardly spent any time there so it didn't bother us. Just know if you are thinking about getting "romantic" we could hear the TV of the room across the hall, so thin walls... Our room was stocked with waffle robes, great toiletries, beach towels and even a beach bag! The inn was well stocked too with tons of books, guides, etc... Even a corkscrew and glasses. Plus they had tea and biscotti available. Downstairs there was a fridge we could use, which had complimentary sodas and water. Definitely came in handy for leftovers and roadside fruit we purchased along the way. Breakfast was delicious! The first day they served a quiche/frittata with veggies and the second day a blueberry French toast-esque pastry. Plus fresh fruit, yogurt, and pastries. The location was not in downtown but we thought it was perfect and enjoyed strolling the beach across the street. Highly recommend!

Lorelle C.

Yelp
Love this place. Just stayed here (April 2017) for second time. First time was April 2013. The owner Howard is super nice and gave us some history and explained some of the decor. Visiting in off season means it's quiet but the views are breathtaking. Location is ideal- right at the top of the last hill on the Falmouth RR course. Close to downtown and has beach access. Decor is lovely and impeccably clean. The little touches make a big difference- like the tissues being brand name soft Kleenex, and the lip balm they provide is awesome. The food is outstanding too. Breakfast was a baked French toast with fruit compote and warm croissants in addition to fruit granola yogurt etc. we will be back!

Samantha D.

Yelp
I had a great experience staying at this Inn in Falmouth with my significant other. We loved everything about the quaint, cozy room. All of the small details were taken into consideration for the Inn's guests such as beach towels rolled into a cute little basket, make up cloths, a key holder, and robes. These small details add up to such a difference. Howard, the Inn owner, was a delight and made sure all of our needs were met as well as ensured we were happy with our breakfast every morning. The breakfast was great too! The location is absolutely fabulous and is right across the street from the beach. Beach chairs are also accessible to Inn guests which makes it so simple. I highly recommend staying here and taking the Vineyard Ferry which is less than a mile away to explore the Vineyard for the day. I will surely be back and my friend that ended up staying with me the last night I was there also recommended this Inn to her fiancé as a place she would love to stay at in the near future too!

Matt B.

Yelp
Awesome quant inn with perfect location that's easy to get to the ferry, shops and the beach. Our room with a balcony was decorated perfectly and very comfortable with spectacular views. Then there was the breakfast which really surprised me considering I thought they would have the proverbial continental muffins and cereal. No continental breakfast here, they had exquisite egg creations, homemade muffins and fresh fruit with an impressive presentation every morning.

Miranda Y.

Yelp
Cute & clean! Inn keeper was very nice & accomodating. It was the perfect location for us as well, had friends getting married at the Casino Wharf FX just two blocks away. Enjoyed the views from our room!

Justin C.

Yelp
Pretty flawless experience. Very helpful and nice owner. Excellent breakfasts. Homemade biscotti, coffee, and tea at all hours. Private bathrooms with walk-in showers. An iPod dock. Decks overlooking the ocean. Free WiFi. I seriously can't complain about anything.

Danielle B.

Yelp
Sensational. My husband and I seriously could not have stayed anywhere better for our Cape getaway. This was our first B&B experience and if all B&B's are like this then we will never stay in a hotel again! Tucked away in a beautiful and quiet location looking out to the sound and short walking distance to the beach. Every detail was thought of and everything was so personable. Our room was impeccably clean with a comfy bed and soft sheets. There was a fridge off the breakfast room fully stocked with drinks and space for any leftovers you might have had from dinners out. Tea 24/7 and they even had my favorite Rooibos which I travel with because no one usually carries it! The breakfast was fresh and the hot plate always decadent. The morning hot plate was my husbands favorite part he couldn't wait to find out what it was each morning. I could seriously go on and on the experience was sensational I feel well rested and wishing I was still there! If your questioning where to stay DONT just book the Inn on the Sound you won't be sorry.

Claire A.

Yelp
First of all, Falmouth is beautiful and I highly recommend visiting! However, this bed and breakfast was very cramped and honestly overpriced. The innkeeper is not friendly and very dismissive. Our bathroom was so small that two people could not stand inside it at the same time. I would stay elsewhere!

Joe A.

Yelp
Million dollar view!! Literally. Our first night there we watched, from our deck the harvest moon rise over the water. By far the best moon rise I've ever seen and perhaps much more beautiful than a sunset. By the way, if you don't think Howard the inn keeper takes his million dollar view seriously ask him how come he has the only inn on the street with no power wires blocking the view!! That's right he PAID to have the removed. The rest of the inn is the same reflection of his meticulous style. Barely a scratch, nick or a ding anywhere. The room was outstanding with all the amenities you could want. It was quiet and peaceful. They had a place where we stored our bicycles (must bring your bikes). You can walk to the queen island ferry, the beach and to town for dinner (about a 30 min walk or uber) We loved this place and will go back in an instant. And for those of you who think the innkeeper is "unfriendly", you just may not have engaged him. Quirky yup. Unfriendly no. He's not going to run to the door and hug you (thank you) but he's full of knowledge and has a good dose of sarcasm. For example, did you learn how the birds know to go to a bird sanctuary? Did you know he can fry eggs like I hop or Denny's, your choice? I bet you didn't notice he removed the power wires either. We loved it!

Derrick V.

Yelp
BRING YOUR OWN VACUUM. Would be ZERO STARS if possible. Stayed there 3 summers in a row and loved it. Tried booking this year but was declined because of "past visits and staffing they cannot have the room ready in time for the next guest". My girlfriend is meticulous and works with the public daily, so we made the bed and we did everything but vacuum the rug and clean the toilet. We even took out our own trash and wiped surfaces down. SO, apparently for them to accommodate anyone, you should bring your own dust pan, broom and bring your own linen to the laundry mat for them. Not to Mention it costs more to stay there a week than to fly to Tahiti. The private beach is covered in sea weed and rocks and the water has zero visibility. And Howard's "French inspired breakfast" is the dullest, flavor lacking, heap of odds and end sitting around his kitchen.

Diane K.

Yelp
We entered the Inn and were immediately notified that we were. Not allowed to socialized with friends at the INN, we could only see friends at a bar, restaurant or other. We paid for the most expensive room at the INN, a room with a deck. We paid over $900 for 2 days and spent our time with another couple at their Bed and Breakfast, which was wonderful! I would recommend Bailey By hoe Sea, they are very welcoming! Our next visit will be at Baileys by he Sea, I heard the food was excellent and the hostess was wonderful!

Jenetha P.

Yelp
This place was worth every penny. Howard and his wonderful staff really make IOTS feel like home. The rooms are immaculate and the views are beautiful (ocean or not). And the breakfast !!! Each morning's breakfast was absolutely delicious, but the French Toast - To Die For !!! I absolutely love this place. Congrats to all of those who are lucky enough to find it.

Sarah S.

Yelp
Falmouth is fabulous, this inn, not so much. Unfriendly innkeeper, small rooms, breakfast on all three mornings was not very good. Last time we were on the Cape we stayed in Woods Hole and would recommend that instead.

Yiching C.

Yelp
Quaint and cozy rooms. Gourmet breakfast. Personable and knowledgable inn keepers. Definitely coming back

Zach I.

Yelp
This great B&B offers a wide variety of breakfast options to guests. Many veg-friendly options! I had some wonderful granola and a vegetable egg puff the morning I stayed there. Fresh fruit and homemade croissants were also available.
