Inn on the Square

We booked to stay the night on a Christmas shopping expedition. Looked central and convenient with discounted parking on offer. Not sure what we expected.||It was fabulous. Check in was easy and the staff lovely. We had a room on the first floor overlooking the square. It was a good size and impeccable - recently renovated. Bathroom was superb and we had the most comfortable of nights.||The hotel was well decked out for Christmas. We did not eat in the dining room as the menu looked a little meat heavy for us, but the breakfast was freshly cooked and top notch.||In all, a very charming and comfortable experience. Good value. Highly recommended.

We stayed 1 night in this beautiful hotel right in the centre of Keswick as we wanted to experience the festive atmosphere. The hotel was lovely with beautiful Christmas trees and decorations throughout. Our room was a good size although a little hot. The food was superb. Portion sizes are massive so we were fit to burst after 2 courses. All the staff were very pleasant and professional with a special shout out to Christian, I think that was his name, in the restaurant. He ensured everything was running like clockwork and was very professional and friendly. One small issue was the lift wasn't working when we were there so if you have mobility issues I'd ask about this before booking as we were informed after booking had gone though. Other than that it was a lovely stay. We will definitely stay here again.

Lovely place! We booked last minute due to a mix up and were really happy with the room. The room was large and the bathroom was also quite big, with a large shower, toilet, sink and mirror. There was biscuits and water provided. The included breakfast was amazing, breakfast staff were so friendly and made us feel extremely welcome. The manager on staff was also great, and was able to organise some pastry for us when we had to leave early on the Sunday morning before breakfast started. Beautiful view out of the window too! Unfortunately, one of the people behind the front desk was not friendly and had poor customer service skills. We did not let her ruin our experience, as everything else was perfect! We hope to be back soon

Atmosphere in the bar was fantastic, staff were amazing, chatty and made us feel welcome. A real credit to your business and sadly not often seen anymore. Keep up the great work. Xmas decorations were stunning.

Hotel is lovely and room was very nice. Good hot shower with nice products. Bar was really nice and comfortable to sit in in the evening. |However, as the room (305) was unbearably hot the tiny windows had to be left open. The noise!!!!! The town clock chimes every hour which is not the hotels fault but if you are a light sleeper this will be an issue as it was for me. Eventually just getting to sleep at 5am the workmen/binmen (??) started immediately outside hotel. Again not the hotels fault but so much noise.|Breakfast was absolutely delicious served by lovely waiters. |Lovely hotel but if you are a light sleeper and like a cool room this is not the hotel for you!

We love visiting this restaurant. The service was good and the main menu meals were delicious. However the children's meals chosen were not nice at all - ordered by children and then tasted by adults to see what the issue was. Not sure how garlic bread can be so dry and tasteless (supermarket garlic bread tastes better) and the fish and chips not pleasant to eat? A pity because the main menu tasted really good.

A delicious meal in superbly comfortable surroundings. All the staff were excellent, offering genuinely friendly and welcoming service. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be back asap x Thank you x

This is a very well located hotel if you are planning to stay in Keswick. It is a 10-15 minute walk to Derwentwater lake and the Keswick Launch area where you can buy tickets to go to the Catbell hiking trail. The hotel is right in the city area. The Thursday and Saturday market is right outside the entrance of the hotel and is a good place to get souvenirs. Walkable to several stores right outside the hotel which includes boots, cafes, a pizza place and several outdoor hiking stores. The rooms are cozy and clean with a nice shower. Though note the rooms can get a tad bit warm at times. There is no fridge in the rooms. The TVs are also a bit older with no apple play or screen-share options. So bring a HDMI cable if you need to watch anything that needs streaming. The elevators were not working on the day that we came (we did get an email notification about this prior). We did get a room on the 1st/2nd floor that made the stairs bearable! Friendly staff. Paid hotel parking available. Just make sure to book the hotel parking before hand. There are some parking areas right behind the hotel which is another option that can be considered. Would definitely consider this hotel if I am ever visiting Keswick again.

My wife and I were staying at the Kings Arms hotel across the street. The Kings Arm wasn't offering breakfast this morning, but they gave us a certificate for the Inn on the Square. I was a bit surprised that they have the same menu, maybe they have the same owner? The inside has a much more modern decor. The service was great and the food was what we expected- the same as across the street. My wife had the waffle and I had the avacdao sourdough. I will say that the coffee was much better than expected; we quite enjoyed it.
