Paid 110 for insurance not bad price United airlines lost our luggage along with 38,000 others and we had no clothes no luggage no meds and no toiletries for three days so we purchased only what we needed to get by. Insure my trip after sending in receipts for everything and the airlines we lost your luggage voucher paid us 98.00 dollars for 600.00 in receipts. Won't use them again

I have used IMT several times over the years. I believe I submitted a claim years ago. It handled quickly and reimbursement happened fairly fast. I am adding my review because I know how it works. I usually purchase if I am traveling with another person(s). I appreciated the way the search engine will allow for comparison of not only prices but coverage as well. Many great experiences so far.

I’ve used this company a few times for cruises. Didn’t have a problem until I had to cancel a cruise. I was told that I couldn’t get my money back but I could use it for a future cruise. I booked the cruise and was told today the cruise has to be within two years. No one told that!! Not their fault I had to cancel but I do blame for losing my money for the insurance I purchased because they failed to tell me about the 2 years. InsureMyTrip pawned me off on the company who actually insured my trip Itravelinsurance and I got the same answer from them. No effort was made my InsureMyTrip to make things right for them not informing of the 2 year rule!!

NO REFUND FOR NO VALUE! An organization with little regard for customers... We acquired insurance for a trip to Israel that was cancelled for now obvious reasons, but the cancellation was after their 10-day no refund rule, so they decided that offering NO REFUND in response to NO VALUE RECEDVED was just fine according to their "industry-standard" rules. That was strike two after they originally tried to get us to pay more for insurance than was called for by our progress payments on the trip. We refused and they lowered the starting price. Future buyers beware, we'll not use them again... ADDENDUM: They say "Our team will be happy to review these factors with you and how it may change the price of your plan." More correct wording might have been... "Our team will be happy... 'to keep your money and you are welcome to send more of your time to' ...review these factors with 'us' and how it may change (Code I suspect for add-to) the price of your plan." But in any case InsureMyTrip has long-since decided that you can't have your money!

Google
Excellent website to compare travel insurance rates across multiple insurance providers. Very easy to compare coverage specifics and to see plan reviews. I have been using it for years and every single time it is quick and easy to purchase trip insurance.

Google
The company was sold to Tokyo Marine. It eliminated their app saying no one used it. I was told I was the first person to ask about it. Really? In this day when apps dominate everything? Update 05/30/2024: the company’s website does not show you your policies. When I called, I was told there was a major technical problem that is being worked on, with no target date for completion. I had called a few months ago and was told the same thing. This makes it very difficult to follow up on any changes, since you must call InsureMyTrip, wait on hold and then be sent an email from them with the change form. I don’t know about claims, but I assume you need to do the same. The policy prices are good and the customer support on the phone is helpful.

I am a frequent traveler. I have bought insurance from this agency for years. The reason I kept coming back was their well-designed website. Over the years, I had to call a couple of times, and on both calls, I got 2 agents who were short, not helpful, and seemed to be bothered by the call. I put up with that customer service. Last week, I was trying to purchase insurance and had a question. I called and the holding time was too long. They offered for a call back within 24 hours, so I left a message. No one called me back. I left another message, and again no one called back after 48 hours. I tried the chat option, but my question and the explanation were hard to do by a chat. There are intricate insurance questions that can only be explained by talking to someone. I asked the person if they could call me and he said that they are not able to call back. I have bought so many plans from them and they made a commission effortlessly because of their good web site. Fortunately, I never had to file a claim. I can imagine how horrible it would be dealing with them if I ever needed help. I was a loyal customer. No more. There are so many better agencies that would pick up the phone and talk to you in a courteous manner. Bye Bye InsuremyTrip.

Google
Insure my Trip is a brokerage and offers a huge variety of plans depending on your specific travel insurance needs. I have used them for my annual 2 month winter vacations for the past 10 yrs. I've had to collect on policies 2x in a decade of travel and they and the insurance companies they've sent me up with were excellent to work with. The customer service at Insure My Trip is very good and thorough. I highly recommend them to my friends and anyone else traveling!

We wrote the rules, you agreed to them, Its not our fault that you gave us your money and got nothing when others cancelled your trip and incidentally did give you a full refund. (And that is how the 'InsureMyTrip' service failed for me!)

Yelp
Insure my trip.com is correct. Claims are handled in my case by: Travel Insured International | A Crum & Forster Company

Yelp
The idea of trip insurance is great. The idea of comparing trip insurance is great. The website and platform for what they do it great. Unfortunately what they sell you is worthless. Of course they are just a broker, but they work with very shady companies. In the event you need to file a claim...your out of luck. First, your going to wait for a few weeks before you hear back from anyone. Then your going to need about a dozen different forms of proof for your claim, and several of those forms of proof you are not going to have and they won't be available to you, so you wont be able to make a claim. Pretty smart marketing idea...just not ethical. If you like buying a product that has no value...this place is for you. Otherwise, don't waste your money on travel insurance. Unless of course, you enjoy getting scammed.

Yelp
I purchased travel insurance on July 26,2019 for a London Trip november 7-14,2019 from Travel Guard. Unfortunately, our return trip was cancelled by BritishAir as we were on our way to the airport, without notifying us. We had to hire someone to help us navigate to rebook at Heathrow Airport. We have used travel guard insurance many times, never filed a claim. Our request was for $53.00 When we returned from our trip we immediately filed a claim in November. We follow all the directions for filing a claim. Last week we received a email saying they needed to see all of our flight tickets. We did not have old tickets.I am warning all travelers to avoid insurance from TRAVEL GUARD they are fakes

Yelp
I have purchased travel insurance through insuremytrip.com for many years. I love how user-friendly the site is in allowing plan comparisons. In the past, I have only had two instances where I had to file a claim and have never had a problem with the process until recently. I filed a claim with AIG Travelguard. Their online process was a bit difficult but manageable. After completion, the site advises that you can expect a response within 10-15 business days. After a month, I called and was told they'd been very busy due to Hurricane Dorian and that they would expedite my claim and a response could be expected in 3-5 business days. By the time I called yet again, it had been 6 weeks since the original claim. Again, I was told my claim would be expedited and it would be another 3-5 business days. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, no one was available because they were so busy, a totally unacceptable answer. I then found the AIG CEO's email on Christopher Elliott's travel advisory site. I emailed him, along with the customer service for AIG and insuremytrip.com. AIG contacted me the next day with some questions and a week later I have my reimbursement. I would like to thank insuremytrip.com and Sally, the Customer Advocate, for their assistance in checking on this delayed process. I will certainly continue using insuremytrip.com knowing that they will be there if I need help in the future.

Yelp
BUYER BEWARE!!!! you MUST carry with claim forms just in case you need it, so the doctor can fill it out while you are there!

Yelp
This review is just for the sales process. I called in to find out some travel insurance options for an upcoming trip. Spoke to a guy named John. John was either having a bad day or just not a friendly person. He spoke in a super condescending tone and was really impatient. I felt like I was inconveniencing him by asking questions. Will shop around elsewhere.

Yelp
The web site has a lot of options and information, but part of it is misleading. They have ratings on the companies that they deal with but the ratings are not based on claims paying. At lot of the positive ones are from people who bought the insurance and never used it. I fell for it an bought a policy that had high overall rating. Then I had to file a claim, went back and read the reviews in detail and everyone that had a claim said the service was terrible. The ratings are very misleading if you have to file a claim. Went to them (trip insure) for help with the claim and they were not very helpful. I will use there site to review and look at DETAILED reviews, then book it direct with the seller. If they are going to allow companies with bad claims records to get good reviews I'm going elsewhere.

Yelp
I like to comparison shop, this site makes it really easy to compare many policies across the board. For most trips I don't bother with insurance, however for more expensive cruises it's worth it. Never know when a connection can get missed or if you become ill and need a medical evacuation. I know the cruise lines sell it and they use an insurer of choice that they make a slice of the profit, however I always wonder about the tie in, you buy it through the cruise line and your insuring that the cruise line doesn't go under. I don't know I feel better dealing with two separate entities. Better safe than sorry!

Yelp
i have used this site a few times but this last time I had a claim and this is really where you see what insurance is really made of. It was super easy, no haslles, and the check came 10 days ealier than they said!

Yelp
First let me say I can't believe this company was not already on Yelp. I have purchased travel insurance from them before. I would never use a provider direct. These guys have every plan available and you can compare plans side by side and they offer excellent customer service. Chris was amazing! He was so patient and helpful. We spent 40 min just researching every plan to narrow it down to the best company for my cruise. He was really knowledgeable and I appreciate it! I wanted to put them under insurance but could not figure out how to do it. Carnival wanted $95 for insurance and I ended up paying only $52 for much better coverage. Going away feeling safe and protected is the best feeling. Thanks Insure My Trip and Thanks Chris!

Yelp
do not use insuremytrip to buy your insurance. use it to comparison shop but do not use it to buy the insurance. they are just a middle man. they are not an insurance agency, like for your car that does all the leg work for you. if there is a problem they tell you to call the insurer and the insurer says they can't help bc you purchased with a third party. go right to the company you want the insurance to be with. The agent i spoke with said she was going to do a conference cal and never got on the phone with me.

Yelp
We bought this company's insurance ($159) for a 28-day $4000 trip, because I was worried that we might miss a flight. I did not read the small print carefully and made a mistake. We missed a Ryanair flight due to long lines at the security checkpoint and incurred overall about $1,000 in losses (re-booking, a hotel, etc). I was unhappy to learn that none of the losses would be covered. On a missed flight (ie trip interruption), they would cover, sickness, car accident, terrorist attack, and other extremely unlikely events such as earthquake. A totally useless insurance, at least for us.

Yelp
I bought this insurance for my European trip from May to June 2013, mainly because the medical coverage $100,000- and read the policy coverage at that moment. I had to buy one for my wife as a requisite of the Spanish consulate for non-American citizens that covered just $50,000 for medical expenses I paid $117.- for her insurance and $71.- for mine. The person to person service with Insure my Trip was excellent. During our trip we rented a car in Spain and one of the tires was permanently damaged, I paid for the renting with my Visa debit card and when returning the car I learned that this card does not provide coverage for this kind of accidents. Of course the renting company charged my debit card for $200 and something, when I returned home I read again the policy and of course along with many other coverage, I was covered for this accident, I immediately called Insure my Trip, they sent me the papers to fill up and in less than 2 weeks I had the check for the exact amount my debit card was charged in dollars. I would recommend to use Insure my Trip to everyone traveling, it covers a lot of situations that like in my case was not the primary objective of buying the insurance.

Yelp
Last month my sister-in-law passed away due to heart failure after dealing with cancer for two years. I was scheduled to take a cruise 5 days after receiving this news. I called the insurance company (travel insured trip protection lite expanded purchased thru insuremytrip.com) I had taken out my cruise insurance with and asked if this was a covered reason. I was told that it was covered as she was a sister-in-law. NO ONE ASKED WHAT THE CAUSE OF DEATH WAS! I WAS TOLD IT WAS COVERED. I was told at that time that the first thing I should do is call the cruise line and cancel the cruise. Paperwork would be emailed to me to submit a claim. This is what I had to submit for the claim: 1. Trip cancellation form provided by the insurer 2. Proof of loss: a death certificate (IT DOES NOT STATE A CAUSE OF DEATH TO BE INCLUDED ON THE DEATH CERTIFICATE) 3. Proof of payment: I had to make photo copies of my credit card statement showing transactions for not only the cruise, but statement showing the purchase of the insurance 4. Airline ticket info - I was driving to the port so didn't need 5. Cruise cancellation policy 6. Photo copy of credit card statement showing refund of any monies by cruise company. Fyi - when you cancel your cruise you are refunded tax and port charges. This is VERY important to know because when you purchase cruise insurance you do NOT have to include this amount to be insured. Only insure the cost of what you are not going to be refunded! So, I sent in all the requested documents via priority mail. A week later I receive an email saying they received my claim. Five days later I receive an email stating that the death certificate I sent in did not have a CAUSE OF DEATH listed. They will not process claim without having this on the death certificate. Now I have to ask my brother in law to request a death certificate that has this listed for me. I felt bad asking for the first death certificate, now I am really feeling awkward. I called the insurance company and was told that the cause of death must be included because not all deaths are covered. I asked to speak to a supervisor and 24 hours later have received no call back. I never knew there were different death certificates, some that say cause of death and others that do not list this. I have since learned this happens in the state of Florida. On their paperwork for a claim it merely says to include death certificate and I feel it is wrong to have to go back now and request this. How much proof do they need that someone is dead?

Yelp
InsureMyTrip is an agency that sells various types of travel insurance, so I am not commenting on the insurance itself, but on the sales and customer service experience. The sales person was a dream to deal with: nice, knowledgeable, and patient. Not so customer service after the purchase. I had to change the trip to one day earlier. Shortly before my trip, I received an email confirming my dates of travel and asking me to call a toll free number if the information was not correct. Following instructions I called customer service explaining that the dates needed to be moved forward by one day. The customer service rep, Monique, was obnoxious to say the least. She would interrupt when I tried to ask some questions and kept repeating the same irrelevant information in response to other inquiries. A really unpleasant person who is definitely in the wrong job. When I buy travel insurance in the future, I will look for another agency. -- there are plenty that sell the same product. I suggest that other travelers do likewise.
