I stayed here 2 nights, the good thing about the hotel is location in the city near the beach. Also a shower with good pressure and warm water (not always avaliable in the region otherwise) and the place felt safe and reasonable comfortable. Its surprising though that a town that has a lot of charm and beauty, there is a hotel this boring! Service was "ok" as so was breakfast.

I stayed at the Hotel Inter-Sukhum for 3 nights in May 2015. I eMailed several hotels, but the Hotel Inter-Sukhum was the only one, that answered my eMails. And Yulia - the one, who answered my eMails - have been very helpful. Communication in english was no problem and she helped to arrange pick-up from the border with Georgia via the local tour operator Cухумское Бюро Путешествий и Экскурсий. The tour operator did a great job and transfers worked well, guided tour through Sukhum was with an excellent english speeking guide (Amina) and a car with excellent (also english-speaking) driver Said for a twelve hours day-tour of Abkhazia (Nowy Afon, cave, monastery, old railway station, Lake Ritsa, Canyon, Stalin Datcha, Pitsunda church, Pitsunda beach) have also been arranged through this tour operator. Very satisfied with the tour operator - thanks to Hotel Inter-Sukhum for helping to arrange this. Hotel is close to the sea front and room was average with balcony and refrigerator. No room cleaning during my stay, but that was maybe because I took always the key with me. Breakfast was all right, but starting an 08:00a.m. is a bit late. An hour earlier would be nice. Had dinner on the first evening at the hotel, as I did not want to go out for a walk after a very long day. Dinner was canteen style and all right, but food was a bit cold. There is a supermarket close to the hotel. Reception staff speaks good enough english for basic communication. I was very satisfied with my stay and the services provided.

The hotel provides the basic facilities however keeping the overall context in mind, this is all you can get there. Its reasonably ok kind of hotel. While in Sukum, you perhaps need to look at the overall beauty of the area and should consider hotels as merely a place to sleep and eat. Do not spent more on purchase of WIFI card as the WIFI works only in lobby area and outside. if you are on third floor or up, the WIFI will not work. and even in lobby, you can use WIFI but staying there for long is a test of your patience due to mosquitoes. The hotel provides a canteen service as well from where you can get food in reasonable rates. No room service. The hotel is very near to beach and hence located at very ideal place. The reception can speak english language which is very helpful for you.

Arriving in Sukhumi, it didn't take us long to locate the Inter-Sukhum hotel - it is at the start of the main promenade, but set just back from it - an ideal location really.||||The receptionist spoke English, which is not common here - if you don't speak any Russian, I would seriously advise against travelling to this region, as you are likely to run into problems right from the start. She checked us in with no problems and gave us our keys. ||||The rooms were good - clean, comfortable, decent bathroom and a nice balcony with facilities to dry clothes if needed.||||As mentioned by previous posters, the breakfast isn't up to an awful lot - it's very soviet-era fare with the likes of pasta, gretchka and kasha being served each morning as a staple - filled out with some random meat, eggs, bread and some cheapo coffee or tea. The army of ladies who serve the breakfast are also pretty fearsome - so avoid upsetting them if possible!||||The main centre of town is about 10 minutes walk down the promenade and you are within about 15-20 minutes of most things/places to see or do in town. Additionally, with the hotel being located just off the promenade, you can get access to the beach in a couple of minutes - and there are lots of restaurants / cafes / kiosks / bars dotted around the area - all which serve delicious food.||||All in all - this is not the most luxurious hotel in the world but it's probably the best one in Sukhumi and I would heartily recommend staying here if you are in the area.

Very simple hotel with very thin walls. ||The location is good to enjoy seashore, close to the farmers market, 15 minutes walk to downtown.||Attention, very hungry mosquitoes will bite you all night long. Even in November!||I prefer more comfortable place to stay in but its ok just for 1-2 night when you are on a business trip.

I don't know what the other reviewers are talking about. Have they traveled to Poti, Anaklia, Batumi, Tbilisi, Mestia, Khakheti, or Armenia or Azerbaijan? This kind of hotel with its own large cafeteria for only $45 a night I could seldom find in other regions of the Caucasus, at this quality for this price. The food preparation in the air conditioned cafeteria style restaurant was professional, artistic, varied, full amounts and variety, tasty, and the staff serving the food very Germanic [almost] in their strict cleanliness and efficient organization. The large and beautiful murals painted on the wall of the eating hall, and the Dutch futuristic style silver chrome shiny chairs, adds an allure unusual to this part of the world. I saw tables full of eaters, especially Russians, packing down the delicious food with smiles on their satisfied faces, even the oversized men eating away like they were starving! Please look at my photos and tell me if I am wrong! The food is great and so is the atmosphere. If you are not a hotel guest it is only $6 to eat all you can eat at the breakfast buffet. The lunch and dinner cost a little more and have ten times the selections of quality dishes.

There was not a bad hotel but it was something like hostel with a very small room. The bathroom and toilet were very old and need to be repaired. The only plus was sea in front of the building. And the beautiful garden between sea and hotel. But you can enjoy the sea view from the balcony.

Stayed in November, Sukhumi was very quiet but the scenery and city itself is fascinating. ||||Hotel was basic and struggled with communication with my basic Russian, so ensure you have a grasp before going. The chap at the desk did ring either a english speaking friend/staff member to assist me with questions which was much appreciated. Wifi none existent and tricky to work out. You will need an Abkhazian sim card for it to work. However a few of the cafe's around the centre have reliable wifi and serve good turkish style coffee.||||Room clean and basic, made the mistake of sleeping with the window open to enjoy the warm conditions after travelling from Tbilisi, a massacre the next morning is all I can describe it as after being ripped to pieces by Mosquito's, this is no reflection on the hotel just a word of warning to the unaware! Food basic but offered a very large "Russian Style" selection, can advise a few good Abkhazian beers before hand to help it down. Mixture of stern staff who appeared to take any request as a real put out for them. However one lovely lady from the canteen was excellent, even exchanging some dollars for rubbles at a good rate as I had run out.||||Cant compare to other hotels in the area but a safe and secure bet used by NGO's, more akin to a good hostel than a hotel. Good location to explore a fascinating country.
