First, the good stuff: The location of the hotel is absolutely fantastic. Right on the banks of the Torrens, next to the central station (and casino) and the convention centre, short stroll across the pedestrian bridge to the stadium. So many food and entertainment options right on the doorstep. The service was very good, breakfast buffet was delicious and the staff in the buffet were attentive and polite. The rooms are very quiet and quite spacious, and the beds are extremely comfortable. Having a choice of foam or feather pillows also makes for a great night's sleep.||However, hotel decor and fixtures and fittings are very dated and worn. Carpet is faded and worn and stained, plumbing is noisy with inconsistent pressure, the shower head in my room was leaky, the door into the bathroom was through a narrow cupboard-style door. Not what I would expect from an InterContinental or a 5-star hotel. It is in desperate need of a facelift to bring it up to standard.
