The Best Hotels in Europe With Incredible Views - AFAR

"Located on the Pest side of the Danube, the hotel places guests in prime position to admire the majestic Buda Castle perched atop Castle Hill, a historic complex originally built in the 1200s and repeatedly rebuilt over centuries. Visitors can sample high-end Hungarian pálinka at the Corso Bar while soaking in the captivating Old World panorama across the river." - Jake Emen

I think all the rooms are facing to the river as I was reading the descriptions and booked because of that. The view from the windows was FANTASTIC!!!! You can enjoy the different atmosphere in the morning and evening! You can’t picture in photos, you’ll need to see in-person! Not sure if the timing in September was less kids and teenagers but I am just assuming 80-90% of the visitors were matured tourists so the city was very matured meaning not noisy party people. I didn’t expect the Budapest to be my favorite relax place to travel but now I love Budapest and the hotel! I definitely want to be back soon!! The city tour is probably enough for 1-1.5 days to fully satisfied hop on hop off to see and enjoy the city and please try for the river cruise in addition to that or might be included in the bus tour. The hotel was a minute from the bus stop. Concierge was a great help and friendly, asked for recommendations of the restaurants around the hotel and the restaurants were not fully packed so I was “???” When I enter (I guess it was the time) but foods were great! Sauna and swimming pool accesses were inclusive. I think these are great add-ons to your trip if you are traveling multiple places for the trip and additional spa massages (paid) gave me a luxurious experience. If you want a relaxed, calmed and enjoyable trip (not back to back tours and excitement), I truly recommend Budapest and this hotel. It’s worth it!! Recommended for 40+ relaxed trip favors!!

Nice hotel with exceptional breakfast. Location was excellent and the view was spectacular. Beds comfy and cleaning to a high standard. |The more senior Concierges were not overly friendly or helpful. |Bar service in lobby bar was hit and miss. |The main reason we wouldn’t stay again is because the rooms are quite dated. Especially the bathrooms. Haven’t seen a shower curtain in a hotel for years. Would absolutely consider again if renovations are planned.

The Hotel with the best view of Budapest. Five stars superior hotel. The breakfast is very good! Rooms are big and if u book with sea view , the view is stunning. Staff is so nice and helpful. I will definitely come back here. A special thanks to Regina and Klaudia for the tips of restaurants and places in Budapest.

Very well located hotel. The rooms with river view have a phenomenal view of the castle and the bridge. Varied breakfast. Helpful and friendly staff. The restaurants (acordo and Arz) are very good. It’s an excellent choice if you plan to visit Budapest.

We have recently returned from a 4 night break staying at the Intercontinental Hotel. It was a special birthday occasion for my wife.and I cannot speak too highly of this hotel.I would almost go as far as to say the location is the best in Budapest - right on the river, looking up at the main sights. The hotel itself was excellent, with a very knowledgeable, polite and helpful staff. We booked a river view room (which we would recommend to anyone booking), and also paid for access to the Lounge (again, we would recommend anyone booking, as it is one of the best we have ever come across. Huge variety of drinks, and excellent food [hot and cold] served afternoon and evenings.) Budapest itself is a beautiful city, with many places to visit. We fully intend to return, probably in the summertime and will certainly be making the Intercontinental our base. As an aside, a big shout out to Budapest Airport. What a pleasure to be in a clean, efficient airport with many shops and amenities.

The journey in Budapest was wonderful, nice room with a beautiful view on the Danube. Well located too! (Near metro, bus, fashion street...) The breakfast time and the evening dinners were really enjoyable, great service thanks to Anastasia :)

Fantastic stay and convenient location. Enjoyed the club loung which is free for Diamond status. We paid $50 per day for access and it was well worth it. Breakfast, evening reception, tea time and all day snacks. The staff were very friendly. The lounge has large windows, comfy seating and a stunning view of river.
