What an incredible property! From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the beauty of the grounds—lush, meticulously maintained, and seamlessly integrated with the island’s natural charm. Our suite, complete with an outdoor tub, was the perfect retreat for a couple—spacious, well-appointed, and with a bed and pillows that made for the most restful sleep. The pool is expansive and an ideal spot for unwinding, whether you’re soaking up the sun or enjoying a quiet moment with a drink in hand. But what truly sets this resort apart is the staff. Every team member we encountered was warm, attentive, and went above and beyond to anticipate our needs, making us feel genuinely cared for throughout our stay. The spa is a must—our couples massage was fantastic, and we were pleasantly surprised by the reasonable pricing. Don’t miss the steam room and sauna for an extra touch of relaxation. While only the main restaurant and poolside restaurant were open during our visit, the food was excellent. We especially enjoyed breakfast daily and had a great lunch experience as well. That said, we also loved venturing out to nearby local restaurants, where we had some of the best seafood on the island. Bell Hall Beach Spot and Roots Rock Bar are both highly recommended! Having a rental car was a great decision, as it allowed us to explore the stunning northern tip of the island at our own pace. All in all, we can’t recommend this resort enough. It exceeded our expectations in every way, and we’ll absolutely be back! LGB friendly.

Disappointed with My Stay at the InterContinental I had high expectations for my stay at the InterContinental, but unfortunately, this visit fell far short of the standard I’ve come to associate with the brand. While the hotel itself is undeniably beautiful, my experience was marred by numerous issues that made the stay less than enjoyable. The property was oddly deserted, yet there were still noticeable service lapses. For instance, there were no towels available at the pool on several occasions. Even after requesting them, it took nearly an hour for towels to arrive. The Wi-Fi was another major disappointment, with speeds ranging from a frustrating 1 to 20 Mbps (max). If you’re planning to relax poolside while staying connected, think again—half the time, the Wi-Fi wasn’t even accessible in that area. Dining was a challenge as well. Options outside the hotel are limited, and the on-site menu was extremely restricted. A single small menu serves for room service, lunch, and dinner, which becomes monotonous after a couple of days. The food quality was inconsistent, often poor, and accompanied by long waits—all at exorbitant prices. While the staff were generally kind, they weren’t particularly helpful. Every attempt to plan activities through the front desk turned into a disorganized and chaotic experience, which added to the frustration of an already underwhelming stay. Overall, while the aesthetics of the hotel are impressive, the service and amenities fall far below the level expected from an InterContinental property. For the price, I expected a seamless and enjoyable experience, but instead, I left disappointed and unlikely to return.

We spent a week at the Cabrits Resort and Spa. Overall the staff are friendly and helpful and the resort and facilities are well presented and luxurious. We stayed in September 2024, which is the low season resulting in low occupancy of the resort. The upside was we had the pool and other facilities mostly to ourselves, the downside was the main bar was closed and the restaurants were quiet. There were also issues with the menu as some dishes were continuously unavailable, and the fish and soup of the day were the same every day. In addition the menu was very ‘international’ including pasta, pizzas etc and could benefit from more local dishes. Some of the dishes could also be elevated, for example the coconut shrimp being served with a mango dipping sauce. I would also suggest during the low season having an alternate paired down menu to ensure all dishes are available. The same applies to the pool restaurant which could be improved with smaller plates for lunch and local dishes i.e roti. The wine selection could also be improved as only a selection from one wine producer being available. This also to the selection of rums, considering the location. Overall we had a relaxing and enjoyable stay with the staff doing their best to address our requests and making us feel welcome. I would recommend the resort to friends and stay again.

This facility is absolutely stunning, offering breathtaking views, beautifully landscaped grounds, and multiple pools. The beach is pristine, and the rooms are incredibly spacious and comfortable, complete with high-speed Wi-Fi. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Though it's located a few miles outside Portsmouth, a 10-20 minute walk will take you to several charming local restaurants if you're up for a stroll. While the hotel's restaurant offers decent food, the menu is somewhat limited, and the prices are quite steep. The staff were exceptional—always friendly and willing to go above and beyond. Though I can’t remember all their names, I want to especially thank Wayne, Samar, and Laura for their outstanding service!

We had an excellent stay! This waterfront property is a great location to visit local restaurants and is walking distant to Prince Rupert Harbour and Cabrits National Park. The best part of this hotel is their Friendly staff! There are so many amazing things I love about this resort! Well-designed exterior and interior! There is beautiful landscaping throughout the property. Great lighting and lots of places to chill. Our room was large, with high ceilings, balcony, roomy tub, and large shower with double showerheads! The hotel provides water bottles, free WiFi, in-room Nespresso coffee maker, water kettle, teas, cream, ropes, slippers and an umbrella! Yes, Dominica is a tropical rainforest Island so it rains for a short time, multiple times everyday; the locals call it “Liquid Sun Shine”. Rainbows show up every day. Our room was serviced everyday and turned down every night. The gym is well equipped with the latest equipment. My highlight of the week were my wonderful Massages from the resort masseuse Ms. Titania. I am so grateful for her!!! The Massages are also available for non-guests by calling the hotel and ask for the Spa. I am coming back!

The comfort of the room is excellent. On the other hand, the catering is really not at the level of a four-star hotel. The waiting times are excessive while there were very few people in the hotel. We ordered a bottle of wine as an aperitif, it was offered to us with dessert! When we asked to be served, the waitress told us that she had other customers to serve first ...., there were only 2 tables occupied! Worrying when it will be high season!

This is a gorgeous resort and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The rooms and grounds are beautiful and clean. The food and specialty drinks were extremely tasty and worth the price (not cheap). The staff are very sweet and aim to please (we mostly interacted with Mihaela, Jahmal, Arvil and Orlando and love them!!). However, I will say that they need more crew members. Drinks and food took a long time to prepare and sometimes there was no bartender around the pool area. It isn’t great that you have to get up to find a bartender and then wait 30 mins for your drink. The drink was excellent once you got it but it seems that the workers are spread thin. There was low occupancy while I visited but it would have been nice to have more activities on the resort as nightlife in the area is completely non existent. There was live music on Sunday but absolutely no music by the pool, ever.

This was the absolute perfect vacation. The hotel is a 10/10. The rooms and resort grounds were all stunning - as nice as or better than any other Kimpton or Intercontinental Hotel I’ve stayed at. The staff are the best part of the hotel, everyone was super friendly; I was sad saying goodby our last day. You can tell they care about the hotel, the rooms and dinning areas are spotless. The first night we drove in we were exhausted from the flights down and driving in from the airport. I rented a car and would highly recommend that if you plan to explore the island like we did. We had dinner at the restaurant on site and crashed. Our first full day we spent the morning exploring the resort after breakfast. They have multiple pools, lounge decks, and swings/hammocks to take advantage of. The gym has everything you could need and all the equipment looked brand new. There is not a beach, but they do have a couple access points into the water. The resort has some of the best snorkeling we found on the entire island. I spent at least an hour everyday snorkeling the reef right off the resort. It was one of my favorite parts of the entire trip. We rented the snorkeling gear from the resort for free. I can’t say enough how much my wife and I loved snorkeling here on the island and how easy the hotel made it. One of the reasons we chose Dominica were the hiking trails the island has to offer. We spent two days just hiking the various trails around the resort. There is a cold sulphur spring that you can hike to, it took us 2 hours each way and we climbed 1800 feet of elevation during it. I highly recommend it. The other hike was Cabrits National Park. There is a stunning view of the resort and the surrounding mountings and bays. We also had lunch at the restaurant serving up local Caribbean food inside the park. Even if you don’t hike up the viewpoints, they still have amazing views of Prince Rupert Bay around the old fort and battery. We spent 4 nights eating dinner out at restaurants in Portsmouth. The hotel was very helpful with recommendations and setting up cabs since we were drinking. Everyone talks about Keepin It Reel, but that was our least favorite restaurant and was also the most difficult to get a reservation. The best place we ate in the 8 days we were there was the Bell Hall Beach Spot (the best shrimp I’ve ever had). It is only a 5 minute walk from the resort and never required a reservation, it was perfect for our random schedule. We also loved The Steak House and Infinity Restaurant Bar & Grill. Highly recommend trying these places. The highlight of the trip was the whale watching tour we took. We booked the tour with the front desk for a day that worked in our schedule; we were picked up by a boat from the dock connected to the resort. Unbelievably convenient. We were lucky enough to see multiple sperm whales just a few feet away from our boats. A baby sperm whale swam under our boat. Other things we did: - took a Caribbean cooking class - visited multiple national parks on the island - took a canyoning tour. Highly recommend - bought a bottle of champagne and drank it with two couples from a cruise boat in a hot spring surrounded by mountains - stopped off on the side of the road to snorkel at multiple locations - champagne reef and Scott’s Head Beach. - hiked Scott’s Head for the amazing views - visited the downtown area of Roseau
