24 Best Hotels in Dublin

"Formerly the Four Seasons, the InterContinental Dublin is tucked away in the leafy and well-to-do district of Ballsbridge. The luxurious notes hit you the moment you step through the door, when you’re met with crystal chandeliers and swaths of marble. The Lobby Lounge, with navy armchairs and gold couches, is a popular spot to sit with a glass of wine or cup of tea and people-watch; it also affords a great view of the inner courtyard garden through its Victorian-style conservatory windows. Even the entry-level rooms are ample and luxurious, with silky-soft beds and bathtubs so deep that even the tallest among us can take a soak. While you’ll certainly be taken care of, you won't be bothered—no one's going to ask you if you’re okay every five minutes. Which is refreshing." - Nicola Brady

InterContinental Dublin

"How did it strike you on arrival?Formerly the Four Seasons, the InterContinental Dublin is tucked away in the leafy and well-to-do district of Ballsbridge. This is old-school glamour at its finest. Nice. What’s the crowd like?A mix of moneyed and influential business guests, families, and celebrities. Noted. And how about the rooms?Even the entry-level rooms are ample and luxurious, with silky-soft beds and bathtubs so deep that even the tallest among us can take a soak. Splashes of color—deep teals and purples—come from accents like throws, but the decor doesn't detract from the peaceful views of Ballsbridge below. The suites offer more space and a dash more style; the newly refurbished Presidential Suite is a stunner, with a sleek private bar and silk brocade wallpaper that you can't help but touch, even though you know you shouldn’t. How about the little things; anything else of note? The InterContinental's common spaces are comfortable and cozy. You could easily settle into one of the plush seats in the Lobby Lounge or the Whiskey Bar and while away the hours as you eavesdrop on fellow guests. Staff: If you could award one a trophy, who gets it, and why?All of them: While you’ll certainly be taken care of, you won't be bothered—no one's going to ask you if you’re okay every five minutes. Which is refreshing. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whatever stuck with you.The small indoor pool area, which is bathed with light, has a sizable hot tub overlooking a private patio. In the spa, ESPA treatments include unfussy facials and massages. Finally, the gym is kitted out with loads of machines and Pilates equipment. Bottom line: worth it, and why? This is Dublin's go-to hotel for old-fashioned luxury that doesn’t feel stuffy. It’s also perfect if you want to stay close to the city center but not in the middle of the hustle and bustle." - Nicola Brady

Outstanding service. Spacious room with large bathroom. Shower was large with good water pressure and consistent hot water. Bed was comfortable, pillows so nice I took a picture of the brand! Laundry service was amazing with an hours turnaround when I requested days. Food in the restaurant was very good and we enjoyed entertaining visitors in the hotel bar. The staff here made this stay exceptional. Location was not near city center but is blocks from a rail station so city was easily accessible via rail or taxi.

Google
Situated in a quiet and pretty neighborhood but it is quite far away from the city centre. The hotel design is elegant and spacious but old. The lobby lounge is beautiful and the food was not bad. Upon check in, the staff greeted us politely and worked efficiently. I particularly appreciate the effort of the staff to help us to follow up my delayed lugguages. The housekeeping was good in tidying up but the carpet was not so clean.|

Check-in was a breeze. Staff and concierge were polite and helpful. The room was immaculate, and I took a hot shower to relax after the long flight over. We struck out for a morning walk on the beautiful tree lined streets. The area is beautiful and charming, close to shops and dining. Of course, you can always grab a bite downstairs if you dont feel like venturing out. Perfect hotel in a perfect location. Will definitely stay again next time we are in Dublin.

Myself and my wife had the absolute pleasure and a real treat to book and stay on June 27th last at the Intercontinental Hotel for our first time but hopefully not the last.|Natalia was so helpful making my room reservation and organised a beautiful room on floor 4 for us. Reception at check in and Breakfast Manager seating everyone were both so helpful and pleasant, as were all staff working in the hotel. |Thanks to all the hard working staff at the Intercontinental making us feel so welcomed.

Google
What a brilliant hotel. We were 3 sisters coming to celebrate a 60th birthday. They had arranged balloons to be put in the room before we arrived and they upgraded us on our arrival. |The suite was marvellous and was great for us to sit around and spend time together and was extremely luxurious|All the staff were excellent and helpful making our sister’ birthday special. |The restaurant staff ensured I had vegan yoghurt for breakfast and we were looked after all the time. |The dart station was about ten minutes walk and we enjoyed the short journey into Dublin town, we also got a few Ubers|The general feeling of the hotel is relaxed and we could see that staff enjoyed working with each other|One of the nicest hotels we have been to

Google
A lovely hotel but, for a 5-star hotel, it’s beginning to show its age. The decor is outdated and the place is on the cusp of tatty. The staff were all charming, friendly and enthusiastic but could do with a little more training to be truly five-star. Food was mediocre.

Google
An amazing hotel with a stunning , relaxing garden. Breakfast is incredible nothing is too much trouble and a great variety to choose from. The room was large and luxurious. Very near to the Dart railway that gets you into the city centre quickly and easily .

Google
The service was amazing, Room was spacious, bathroom was huge, shower was large with hot water and strong water pressure, bed was comfortable and pillows were so good I took a picture of the brand name! The laundry service was amazing - we asked for pressing of quite a few items and the turn around service was mere hours not days! We enjoyed food in the restaurant and drinks in the bar as well as room service. The location was blocks from the train.

Yelp
This hotel used to be a Four Seasons. And you can tell. Used to be. From the faded carpets to the nice, spacious rooms with comfortable beds. To the presumably once-glorious facilities. I think the transition happened somewhat recently and they -- and their clientelle -- are still adapting to the change. Hopefully it will get better but the staff seem to struggle (e.g., in the lobby bar). The pros: it's near the RDS (conference center), the room spacious, and the beds are nice. The cons: the food isn't great, the service struggles, the location is seemingly nowhere unless you need to be out here (e.g., there's are almost no alternative local restaurants) so you're kind of trapped with the food/service (especially on a Sunday). I'd stay downtown next time, like I did the time before (e.g., at the Westin, which wasn't perfect but was definitely well located).

Yelp
Going in, I expected great things given the ratings and price point. While I wouldn't go so far as to say I was let down, the overall value had me land at a 4-star rating. Once you arrive in Dublin, you'll need to make your way slightly outside of city center to reach the InterContinental. It isn't that far from all the action, but is not right on top of things either. The staff will happily help arrange a taxi or provide tips if you need. It is also only a few blocks from public transportation. Once in, you'll find the rooms to be top notch. Honestly, the bathroom alone was bigger than some of the other hotels I've stayed in recently. You'll have plenty of space to spread out. The rooms are also kept neat and clean. Breakfast at the Seasons is the full Irish plus. You'll get a buffet as well as made to order eggs if you'd like. Hours are decent, but get there early to avoid a crowd. The conference space offers a good variety for any occasion. We had dinner our final night and the layout worked for both meetings and dinner. I liked the Irish Whiskey selection at the bar! The staff is on top of things and outgoingly friendly. If you need a bottle of water, they have you covered. If you need a taxi, they can help. if you can think of anything else, I'm sure they will be happy to take care of things. They certainly make the hotel keep its high standards.

Yelp
Wow what a nice hotel. So pretty! Rooms are comfortable and a good size. Nice large tubs and the bathroom was big. Right by a train station and two stop to the fun area of Dublin.

Yelp
Awful. Waited 45 minutes just to get water at the afternoon tea. Horrible service. Do not go here

Yelp
I stayed here for a week for work and it was a great experience. I checked in in the evening and was upgraded to a one bedroom junior suite. This was a nice surprise since I do not have status and they did not say anything at the desk. The room was in the back of the hotel, but still had an okay view. I needed my key to get up the elevator to the second floor. The overall decor of the hotel was traditional and the staff was friendly. There was a full living room with couch and loveseat, along with a desk and TV, and small dining table. This was after entering the long hallway with closet and refrigerator and coffee maker. The bedroom had its own TV and lounge chair. There was a small hallway to the bathroom with a walk-in closet. The bathroom was the most modern decorated and had a separate tub and shower. The toilet was also in its own room. There were plenty of towels and everything was top notch!

Yelp
Overnight hotel stay- June 2022 Pros: Excellent and friendly staff and amenities Room service (I ordered breakfast) was quick and delicious) Buffet breakfast has fresh, high quality products. A quick $15 taxi ride into the city centre (this could count as a "con") Spacious guest rooms. Cons: N/A at this visit

Yelp
Beautiful place to stay and enjoy a relaxed day in your room. The gorgeous spa is located on the lower level..

Yelp
This hotel is approximately a 30-45 minute walk to the Temple Bar area (depending on your walking speed). There are several restaurants & bars located nearby. The WiFi worked well. The staff was pleasant & helpful. The cleaning staff always made sure the room was cleaned & prepared thoroughly. The room has a mini bar & an espresso machine. The king size bed was very comfortable. I enjoyed the A/C in the room. The shower had hot water.

Yelp
I visited the Intercontinental Hotel Dublin tonight, and to say that I'm disappointed would be a vast understatement. Frankly, I would have felt more welcome at an immigrant asylum centre accommodation. The entire experience left me feeling disheartened and disgusted. From the very beginning, the staff were both rude and inattentive. Instead of a warm greeting, I was met with an air of indifference. The food, which should have been the highlight of the evening, was nothing short of miserable for the price. A dry, unseasoned steak with a side salad devoid of dressing, and a lacklustre salmon dish that barely passed muster. Both dishes were presented in the most unappealing manner. To make matters worse, the F&B manager tossed a drinks menu onto our table with an attitude that could only be described as grumpy. The reception lounge was half-closed, and we were never asked about the quality of our food. We couldn't even catch the attention of the staff, who must have known better than to ask about our tasteless and bland meals. Instead of offering coffee, dessert, or another drink after clearing our plates, we were immediately presented with the final bill. It was clear that we were not wanted there. The only other waiter spent most of his time loudly chatting with patrons about their shared elite private school experiences, clearly uninterested in doing his job. When it was time to leave, they couldn't validate my parking ticket. Upon asking if the machine outside accepted Apple Pay, the staff reluctantly took my ticket and charged me, despite having spent over 100 euros on a subpar dinner. They flung the ticket back at me with such dismissive attitude that it left me speechless. The only redeeming aspect of the evening was the pleasant and courteous older Irish doorman with silver hair. He was the single shining star in an otherwise cold, sterile, and unwelcoming environment. In conclusion, I cannot recommend the Intercontinental Hotel Dublin to anyone. If you're looking for an enjoyable and hospitable dining experience, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. My night at this establishment was nothing short of a disaster, and I won't be returning. I only chose there because it was nearby and had convenient parking. I have noticed that the management fawn over good reviews in the reply's but ignore negative criticism in their reply's. Let's see if they are true to form.

Yelp
Big fan of IHG and I've been a member for a few years now. I've stayed at the intercontinental in Miami and NYC as well. This one was really well maintained and felt much more historic than any of the others. Great staff and service. They even came and made the bed for the pullout couch in our suite. This is must stay if you have kids or want to feel like royalty for a few nights!

Yelp
Check in went super fast and the front desk staff was very friendly and professional. The fresh flowers in the lobby area were beautiful and unique. My room was lovely and very large. Huge by European standards. The bathroom was just as large, with a separate shower and tub. There is a robe and slippers available for your use. The king size bed was very comfortable. There is a large smart tv. The location is great. There are several great restaurants and pubs close by and it's an easy 35 minute walk to the city center. It's right around the corner from the United States Embassy. It has been a very enjoyable stay and I look forward to returning.

Yelp
I could not recommend this hotel as my stay was mediocre at best . I believe I made a post for my stay in August of this year 2021, but cannot find it. I felt hurried by the staff in the main dining hall as supposedly the table was reserved for other patrons. Once the check hit the table the staff appeared and asked if I could vacate as soon as possible as the table had been reserved. Other patrons behind us , had been seated and finished but were not hounded to get out . It was rude and totally slanted my opinion of this Hotel chain . I have stayed in Intercontinental hotels all over the USA and never had an issue. Not surprised it happened in my home town .!!

Yelp
Wow! What a beautiful hotel. This was my first trip here and I was impressed the whole time. I had been traveling all day and looked pretty shabby. I immediately felt under dressed, but they still treated me like a valued guest. I was only staying one night, but the whole property looked amazing and well-kept. My room was beautiful and everything worked properly, including nice WiFi. The breakfast buffet offered the next morning had a massive variety. I was flying back to the US that morning, so I didn't want to stuff myself, even though it would have been simple to do so. The fresh honeycomb was interesting. I'd never pulled honey right from the comb like that before. The brown bread was just right and the sausages -- 3 or 4 varieties, I think -- were all tasty. It is not inexpensive, but I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Yelp
I came from Florida to visit friends and to see Ireland. My friend arranged for us to come here to have some spa time! We had a 1/2 facial and 1/2 hour back massage. I won the lottery when I got Linda! She worked on my shoulder blades and it felt amazing. She is very skilled and I left feeling like a million! The facial was very relaxing and the scrub they use made my face feel clean. I woke up on Sunday and had more range of motion in my arms. Thank so much Linda. The spa was clean, organized and the music was very relaxing. After we were done we headed to the bar for a couple drinks. I thought the bar was very relaxing and service was great.

Yelp
This concerns the gym. I am in the middle of my workout sweating, and going in between two machines. The elliptical and the treadmill. I am Obviously sweating and have a towel wrapped around me. Cleaning my sweat off as I go. While I am trying to finish my run on the treadmill some older gentleman who is training with a personal trainer come up to me, interrupts me and tells me I need to clean the elliptical. To which the personal trainer does NOTHING but stand there. My assumption is that this elderly gentleman is a resident, or has a membership to the spa/gym. Someone might want to fill this gentleman in on the fact that an entire hotel also shares this gym. So rude and unacceptable. If the gym was full, that would have been a different story. I would only use one machine. I have definitely felt harassed. Not good at all.

Yelp
Again, great food, attention to detail, and hospitality! I particularly love the thick fluffy towels, high quality TP, helpful staff, and quick service. Th concierge was helpful is booking tours and reservations and gave us great advice on sights and days trips from Dublin. You can't go wrong here.

Yelp
You know InterContinental is one of famous hotel in the all over the world. Door Man is very gentle, and the hotel is nicely decorated... so when I came into the hotel, I said "Wow!" lol Everything is gorgeous! I spent for tea. There is a lot of tea selection. Of course staffs are very nice. I think there is good price for women. Because afternoon tea and spa is not expensive than other luxury hotels in Dublin. If you want to have a fabulous time, I recommend this place.

Yelp
Exceeded our expectations! Beautiful furnishings! Very comfortable and large rooms! Food in the lobby area very good! Breakfast was in a beautiful room with views of the courtyard.

Yelp
A beautiful hotel in Dublin 4 part of the city. We stayed two nights during our visit and the bedroom was large, the beds were comfortable, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. When we arrived, the friendly doorman took our bags, asked our name and opened the door for us so we could be free from our luggage and check in. The check in personal worked her magic, gave us some handy information about things to do while we were in town, and we went upstairs to our room. When we arrived, the room was presented exactly how we've expected an Intercontinental Hotel. We've stayed at many InterContinental hotels around the world and we are always assured of clean, large rooms, fruit platter, comfortable beds, bathrobes, slippers, and quality shampoos and conditioners. We know we are in store for a good night's sleep and comfortable service, if we needed. We did need to ask how to adjust our thermostat and someone came right away and showed us. Perfect. While it isn't located in the heart of the tourist area, it is a 30 minute walk or 20 minute bus ride, staying at the hotel was a treat, nevertheless. At the corner, you can take a quick shuttle to the airport. Plenty of taxis are also available.

Yelp
I stayed at the InterContinental in Dublin which is, as far as I know, one of the best hotels in the city...previously a Four Seasons or so I´ve heard. HOTEL Absolutely beautiful! Hotels like the Intercontinental are all about luxury, pure enjoyment and great service. This hotel does a really good job on this front. The service has a little bit of room for improvement, but nothing serious. The room was beautiful and comfortable in every way, BUT (yes there is a but!) the heating was broken. Unfortunately this lost them one star because it took them more than a day to realize that I needed another room. They sent various engineers to try to fix the problem...unsuccessfully. And I had to call them multiple times to remind them about it. Unfortunately, top-notch hotels like this one can afford being so careless about these minor issues that can easily be fixed by moving their guests to another room, so I had to survive 2 freezing nights with a portable, also kind of broken, heater and many layers of clothes. Their Fitness and Spa area was pretty amazing. Big gym with great machines and a pretty decent pool! (heart heart) I almost gave them their star back for this. FOOD I only had their breakfast which I thought it was okay. Was expecting a little more like the breakfast at the Radisson Blu in Berlin , but I won´t base my review on this. Unfortunately the service here wasn´t great. They sold me a bad breakfast deal. I wasn´t swiping my card this time so I didn´t dig into the offer, but I found it quite deceiving (Intercontinental make sure you give your guest all the details next time) Room service wasn´t great either. They were hard to reach and they messed my order up, but this was quickly solved! In spite of all of these incidents the hotel is absolutely great! Definitely one of the best in Dublin so if you are not on a budget check it out! Love, D.

Yelp
Gorgeous property. Set back in a quiet and lush corner of Dublin's Ballsbridge neighborhood. Our room is spacious and well appointed, solid 4-star finishes, classic and understated design. It's worth also mentioning the wifi is free and works really, really well. The lobby area and bar are the property at its best. Views of a lush courtyard, muted acoustics, lots of guest activity and local business people having informal meetings over coffee. High-quality, if short, menu served until 11PM. One small suggestion for management is hiring some slightly more senior wait-staff, I think there's room for the non-lodger business in particular to grow. If you're looking for a bit of respite and quiet when you travel, this may be the perfect hotel for you in Dublin.

Yelp
Our stay was incredible. Barry and his staff were so accommodating to us and even surprised us for our anniversary. We were with a big group and they were able to keep us close together. The car service outside were beyond amazing too. Loved this place and it was like a dream!! There was a cute park near the hotel to walk around.

Yelp
Absolutely impeccable service. The hotel is beautiful, the staff here gives the best service that I've ever experienced in a hotel and the breakfast is wonderful. Literally the best hotel experience I have ever had.

Jim C.

Yelp
For such a fancy and expensive hotel you would think the service would be better. The room was amazing, but it was a suite so it should be. The front desk was nice and attentive. JJ at the restaurant was the best. I wish I could give him 5 stars but that would mean I'd have to give the other guy that too. Tiago is the restaurant brought the entire rating down. We waited forever for food. We ordered three drinks and two came immediately while the third took about 20 minutes. And forget about the second round. I had an empty glass on the table while I ate dinner for another 20-30 min without him ever stopping by to check how we were doing. The restaurant was not busy at all. There was no reason for such poor service. He never came by to check on satisfaction, replenish a drink (even water) or offer anything else. He really made the whole stay kind of bad.

Yelp
This used to be a four seasons and then changed over - we were a bit concerned but everything was terrific! Service was great - staff were very friendly - of course you would expect nothing less from the Irish! Rooms were spacious and the bed was comfy! Bathroom was really nice - soaking tub to take a bath!!we liked the fact that you can walk to restaurants and pubs outside the hotel within minutes! We would stay here again!

Yelp
We were in Dublin for my father-in-laws birthday and had the pleasure of staying at the InterContinental. We stayed in a Jr. Suite that was the size of an NYC apartment. The bed was super plush and we loved the over sized bathroom as well as the bath products; you can never go wrong with L'occitane bath products. We enjoined cocktails at the library bar and and I had my first real tea service with an amazing selection of teas and delicious tea sandwiches and pastries. Wish we were there more than 2 days, but we're already planning a return trip and will most definitely be staying at the InterContinental.

Yelp
The Intercontinental Dublin hotel was formerly the Four Seasons Hotel Dublin and it is very lovely! The entrance, lobby, sitting area, bar, and restaurant are very beautiful and luxurious. The door men, front desk, bartenders, housekeepers, and all of the staff will treat you with warm Irish hospitality and genuine kindness. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and comfortable. The marble and granite bathrooms with large bath tubs and showers are nice. The decor in the bedroom feels a little out-dated but the bed is comfortable and the hotel is quiet and peaceful. I did not have an opportunity to experience the spa nor the restaurant. The restaurant is gorgeous. The spa offers several facials, massages, and scrubs for both men and women. The bar is inviting and literally has top-shelf Irish whiskeys. The hotel is located in a residential area and is little far from the city center but you can take either a taxi or buses #4 and #7 which will take you to the heart of Dublin for €.2.70 (exact change.) The buses operate frequently. There are many small bars and restaurants a few blocks away from the hotel and they are within walking distance. Go to www. Intercontinental.com or contact by email at reservations@icdublin.com or thespa@icdublin.com

Yelp
It was a perfect place to stay! We landed in Dublin and headed straight to this hotel. We liked it so much that we added another day, so 2 nights here! Flying from Los Angeles it was a great place to rest up. About 14 Euros one way to get to Temple Bar area (fun bar by-the-way). Breakfast is def worth the money! Overall, I was very happy with the service, room, food and hotel. Highly recommend it.

Yelp
Great hotel -- beautiful, clean, and great service. Knocking them down a star because they're relatively far from city centre (about a 40 min walk).

Yelp
Great service, beautiful facility. The beds are the best I've experienced in Ireland

Yelp
Stayed for two nights. Lovely hotel but did not have a good experience. Went to bed on Friday night at 10.30pm. By 11.15pm, I work up to a loud music vibrating through the floor. I called reception and she said there was an event on and they would get them to turn it down. By 12.30pm and 4 phone calls they eventually moved me. I didn't get to sleep until 3am..... I checked out this morning and the guy at reception asked how my stay was. I explained what happened and he said I am sorry about that. He then went on to charge me for valet parking of 50€. I had prepaid everything else. Honestly I was very disappointed and left a sour taste in my mouth. It is not about the money but they could have made some gesture to acknowledge the issue. Instead they made me feel like I was just privileged because the second room was bigger. I was happy with a smaller room that I am not waking up in the middle of the night. For a 5 star hotel, their customer experience leaves a lot to be desired. I will be staying in the Westbury or the Shelbourne in the future

Rick K.

Yelp
Hotel bar sucks! Too small and to much traffic going in and out to the back patio. Bar selection is limited. Worst bar in Dublin!
