InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa

"Sitting on what many consider to be the finest beach on Fiji’s main island of Viti Levu, this 266-room resort has the palm-fringed sands and clear water that many seek on Fiji’s tiny offshore islands. But its expansive grounds also allow it to provide a choice of restaurants, room to swing a golf club, and a spa that’s more than a table under an awning. Even the standard rooms are sizable, and all include an outdoor living area that extends the usable space while still granting privacy. The 40-minute drive from the airport might be a drawback for guests on their way to an offshore resort, but the hotel offers so much to do—so much to do from visiting a local village and historical sites, to a visit to the local fish and produce market—that they might happily decide to go no farther."

InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa (Viti Levu Island, Fiji) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Never one to shy away from the spotlight, the InterContinental brand has chosen, for its location in Fiji, a prominent position on the spectacular white sand beaches of Natadola Bay, just under an hour from Viti Levu’s Nadi International Airport. The InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa occupies some 35 acres of verdant waterfront land, and rather than a single central structure, its rooms and suites are arranged village-like in clusters of low buildings, none of them taller than the palm trees that surround them." - Tablet Hotels

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Intercontinental. The resort is beautifully located on Natadola Bay, with stunning ocean views, lush gardens, and a peaceful atmosphere that made it the perfect escape. Sunset over the ocean every night was a stunning bonus. The staff were incredibly hospitable, the facilities and nannies were excellent and our 2 young kids loved the pool, lagoon and kids club. The golf course and spa were also a highlight for the adults. Our Lagoon View villa was the perfect set up for 2 adults and 2 young kids. We will definitely be back!

We lived our time here. The resort is situated on a stunning beach with good snorkeling right out the front. We stayed in a club room and we took full advantage of all the extras! The resort is about an hour from Nadi and apart from the golf course and a small village, there’s nothing else nearby, but that didn’t bother us-we were there to relax and soak up all the reaper has to offer. That being said, there are great and varied tours available. We have been to Fiji before and we found the beach, hotel facilities and a quick local tour were more than enough. Speaking of facilities, they were generally pretty good. The gym was surprisingly small for such a large resort and the adult pool was extremely busy but overall we thought the grounds, rooms and facilities were excellent. Highly recommend. Next time we need a serious reconnect, we’ll be back!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐||We travelled with two kids (5 and 2) and had the best experience.||Check-in was seamless—welcome drinks, soft toy turtles for the kids, beach towels for adults, and a buggy ride to our room made arrival stress-free.||Our garden view room with beach access (Block 11) was spacious, perfectly located between restaurants and pools, and kept spotless with daily cleaning and turndown service. Plenty of Fiji water was always provided.||The family pool was fantastic—large with shallow areas, never overcrowded, and plenty of loungers available. We also loved the convenience of the on-site shops and store for snacks, pool toys, and essentials.||Food was a highlight. The breakfast buffet had everything from pancakes to fresh juices, and buffet dinners (especially Asian and Fijian nights) were excellent. The kids adored the candy floss and soft-serve ice cream! Service was always quick, and the coffee was consistently great.||The beach was stunning, with shallow water and tropical fish when the tide was out—perfect for the kids. Reef shoes are handy for little explorers.||The staff made the stay extra special. Everyone was warm, friendly, and so good with the kids—Sera at breakfast was a standout, and the activities team brought so much energy with things like water aerobics and crab racing.||We’ve stayed at the Sofitel before, but would hands down recommend the Intercontinental, especially for families with young children. It was more relaxing and enjoyable than we imagined, and we’ll definitely be back!

Our honeymoon at InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa was absolute paradise! From the moment we arrived, the staff were so friendly, welcoming, and professional, making us feel completely at home. Our room was absolutely amazing—spacious, luxurious, and with breathtaking views. We loved the trips in golf carts around the resort, lounging by the pool, and soaking up the stunning scenery. The food was amazing, the drinks were just as incredible, and every detail was perfect. A dream honeymoon we’ll never forget! 🌴☀️🍹🇫🇯

Our 6-night stay at InterContinental Fiji was unforgettable. After providing feedback on day one, management responded brilliantly. As an IHG member, I felt proud of the care shown. Highlights included a room upgrade with stunning beachfront views, a tailored allergy-friendly dinner at Navo, a relaxing spa package, and amazing breakfasts. Special thanks to Alini Muai—her service was exceptional. The golf course was superb, and the entire staff made us feel truly valued. We’ll definitely be back!

While it is a beautiful resort it is very busy some the staff don’t seem to be very happy and the service is hit and miss. We had 2 rooms during our stay, the first was a beach access on wing 10 which was had great daily room servicing. Our next room was in wing 18 and the room wasn’t serviced until about 4pm daily consistently didn’t leave enough water, towels or any face clothes & coffee and tea supplies, which might seem like nothing big but when you are paying a premium you expect your room to be serviced with the bare minimum. The locals on the beach hound you to use their services such as horse riding, hair braiding, snorkelling etc which was annoying as you couldn’t walk the beach without being hounded. The planet trekker staff are amazing and made the kids holiday so much fun. Overall a great stay 💛

The Good, the Bad & the Ugly The Good I stayed 4 nights with my family in a two bedroom suite with lounge access and a plunge pool. I want to start with the positives: the staff were incredibly kind and friendly. Generally speaking, they really wanted to make things as pleasant as possible. The resort is very photogenic and makes for great photo ops. Having the lounge access was key as there were free drinks and a private, quieter pool with very attentive staff (and much closer to our room). The Bad There is a general lack of quality control at this resort, and while beautiful, definitely does *not* feel like a 5 star resort. When you are paying well over $1000+ USD per night you expect a certain level of service, which we have received elsewhere (like Bali) but not here. For example, check-in took a solid hour and was a train wreck of an operation. Our room was a 15 minute walk from the beach, which when it’s the second-most expensive suite in the entire resort, was very disappointing. At check-in they advised that we would be getting free drink vouchers but never received them. All the surfaces in the rooms (light switches, sink handles, shower doors) were pretty gross. Our room required another bed. We requested it at check-in and again at the lounge an hour later, but it never arrived that first night. We got it after a third request the following day. We didn’t use on of our showers the entire time as it smelled like sewage when one turned on the water. The food was just sub-par for a resort of this size and cost. We understand it’s an island but we have been to over a dozen islands and for this price point they just need to do a better job and have better trained staff. The food was usually soggy and overcooked, or runny and undercooked. The beach is nice but is very narrow and there are no beach chairs put out for guests and no lifeguards. What more, the minute you step onto the beach you are accosted by hawkers trying to sell you rides and other things as the beaches are public. The Ugly The plates and utensils- even when allegedly clean - were still dirty (see photo included and note the brown on the white plate of rice before it was touched). The water is generally not safe to drink except from bottles. Bottled water is provided at the rooms and lounge for free - but when you pay $40 per person for a buffet dinner or breakfast - bottled water is still an extra charge. We ordered a salad one day and the entire bottom of the bowl was filled with 2cm high of water, I guess from rinsing the lettuce. In total, two of us got terrible food poisoning and literally was knocked out of commission after the first day for the remainder of the trip. It was a real damper. And while everyone at the resort seemed to know about it and inquire, no manager reached out to see what they could do to make things better. Overall, the property is beautiful and the people amazing, but this is not a resort I would return to and I do not believe meets the IHG standard for an Intercontinental, for which we’ve been loyal members for years.

Khalesi made us feel so safe and looked out for when the airlines lost our bags for a few days, and made sure to follow up with them even without us asking! ||The room was immaculate and huge. The views were absolutely breathtaking, straight out of a postcard. The people were friendly, helpful, and happy. ||The breakfast spread was amazing and easily catered to absolutely any dietary needs. ||This truly deserves the name 5 star resort!
