We are intercontinental members and when we heard that the final stay of our organised tour would be the intercontinental in Jaipur, we were really happy. Unfortunately, this hotel did not meet the expectations that we had - in terms of the intercontinental brand or compared to the 4 other hotels we have stayed in whilst in India.||The bad:||1. We checked in after 4pm, but one room was not ready|2. We were asked to give a credit card to hold funds, but instead the card was charged - they did void the payment but, still, we would not ordinarily expect this to happen|3. We ordered drinks by the pool and a glass was cracked and leaking, when we pointed it out it took a long time for someone to then come back with another drink, but smaller in volume |4. We ordered sparkling wine and the measures in each glass were different (we didn’t order a bottle, we ordered by the glass)|5. We had 4 rooms but only 2 had items in the minibar |6. The showers were not at all hot and were not powerful (stark contrast to the 4 other hotels we stayed in on this trip)|7. The breakfast buffet did not have as much choice as some other hotels we stayed at in India |8. The bar had happy hour but the atmosphere in the bar was lacking - and the happy hour drinks (and drinks in general, in terms of cocktails) were uninspiring |9. There was a big conference on at the hotel and, as we were only staying one night, it felt like we mattered less to the hotel ||There were some other minor things like the rooms being dusty in places and some of the staff seeming a bit bewildered (admittedly that could be down to language barrier)||The good:||1. The rooms are big (though ours had frosted windows and no view)|2. The pool is nice|3. The kitchen made specific food for our vegan family at breakfast (almond milk pancakes)|4. We got to buy Indian sparkling wine, which they didn’t have at the other hotels
