InterContinental Johannesburg O.R.Tambo Airport by IHG

We stayed here twice during our holiday, and I couldn't recommend it more! The ease of using this hotel when first arriving in South Africa is priceless. We also chose to rest a few days before the long flight home and had another amazing stay. ||The rooms are small, but the bathroom is luxurious. I particularly enjoyed the shower and the bathtub. The provided amenities were appreciated.||The breakfast buffet was excellent; everything is included. The smoothies are a must. We also had room service several times and would highly recommend it. The food was hot and delicious, and we always received a call asking if it met our expectations. Nice touch!||The highlight of both of our stays was the spa! Rebone took such great care of me. She excels at massage and facials and has a warm, approachable nature. I can't recommend her enough! She takes pride in her work, and her customer service skills are exceptional! Thanks again, Rebone!

I never expected an airport hotel to be this nice -- and the staff so wonderful. The bathtub and beautiful bathroom were a blessing after traveling for nearly 24 hours and even the restaurant was a treat! The wonderful staff offered to keep our luggage for us while we were away for two weeks at various bush camps -- they are so nice! Really lovely rooms and what a great experience.

We flew into Tambo and the Intercontinental was very convenient. It is expensive but I had some points to use for the stay. The room is ample size especially for an overnight. The bed was comfortable and plenty of closed space. The bathroom definately showed its age as there was a little mildew on the shower tiles. The tub was a great soaker and lots of counter space and amenities. Nice comfy bathrobes. ||Check in was very easy and the front desk staff was very cordial. My husband had forgotten toothpaste and we thought we'd have to walk back over to the airport and they send us enough for an overnight.||We decided not to pay what I considered expensive for the breakfast. We did have dinner in the dining room and lots of choices on the menu and the food was very good and reasonably priced. ||This hotel is very comfortable and convenient for an overnight stay before flying out.

This hotel was very convenient, extremely comfortable and in a great location to spend for our one-night stay. All the staff were pleasant – bell hops, front desk, host, breakfast serving staff… unfortunately we did not get everyone’s name. We did get Fanale’s name, the concierge, who assisted us when we needed information, directions, and change for currency. The breakfast provided was tremendous! Complements to chefs and all involved in preparing and presenting such an enormous selection!!!!

Nice airport hotel. Very convenient. Rooms adequate and clean. Nice but small pool. Good fitness center. Room service was good, as well as breakfast. Restaurant for dinner was just okay; some of the entrees were overcooked and/or greasy, and the service was slow. Overall, a nice place to stay for an airport overnight.

Wife and I stayed here 2 nights before proceeding to Cape Town for a tour group. Location excellent, just outside arrival hall. Very friendly and helpful staff, they gave us our room early so we could nap after our 36 hr trip from US. |Room was very comfortable, king bed, also extremely quiet, we never heard any airport noise!|Had their breakfast, good buffet and order from menu. We ate dinner in Quills, the hotel restaurant, which was fine. The rest of the meals we walked over to airport, level 2, plenty of food choices all outside security. |Pricey hotel but super convenient.

Wonderful hotel. First class accommodation, most convenient location. We arrived at 9 in the evening from a 15 hour flight. We were checked in quickly and shown to a beautiful room. The staff was friendly and very efficient. Our room was clean, comfortable and well furnished. We enjoyed a breakfast in the restaurant before heading back to Tambo airport to continue our trip. Excellent choice for a hotel

Intercontinental Johannesburg (OR Tambo) is a highly recommended airport/business hotel. Well appointed, comfortable and clean rooms. Great cuisine.|But above all most friendly and helpful staff. Ntombo and Neo deserves a shout-out as exemplary ambassadors for the brand.
