I recently stayed here for a one-night getaway with my wife after being apart for some time due to work. I’ve always considered this the nicest hotel in Managua—perfect for a local staycation—but unfortunately, this stay didn’t meet expectations, especially for the premium price point.
I had contacted the hotel over two weeks in advance to arrange a massage and a special romantic dinner. Despite several emails, I received no response until just two days before the reservation, and only after switching to writing in Spanish. All I wanted was a simple written confirmation, which should be standard for a hotel of this level.
Upon arrival, they had even scheduled our massage at the wrong time. Thankfully, they were able to fix it on the spot. My wife’s massage turned out to be excellent, but mine was chaotic—the therapist seemed completely unprepared and even accidentally scratched my face, leaving a mark that lasted over a week.
The pre-selected three-course dinner was very good in terms of food quality, but the service was slow and inattentive. I expected a more polished, seamless experience considering we had everything arranged in advance.
This hotel still has my loyalty in some ways—I love the property and its potential—but it needs to deliver a more refined, white-glove level of service if it wants to justify being the most expensive hotel in Managua. With some improvements in communication, organization, and service consistency, it could truly be world-class.
