InterContinental Miramar Panama by IHG

We stayed here from December 25, 2025 to January 1, 2026, and while our room was sufficiently spacious featuring two queen sized beds, contrary to what Travelocity's photos of the rooms looked, which was modern and contemporary, our's looked outdated, like late 90's outdated. The staff were friendly enough, but we arrived at the property at 9:45am that Christmas morning, and understandably, the rooms weren't ready, and when it finally became available after a 4-hour wait, the front desk staff couldn't have found us a better room (??). There's a staff on site, we think she's management level, she's outwardly irritated/rude and dismisses you when you ask her basic questions like, is the restaurant open, or when does the orange juice becomes available at the breakfast bar. She just dismisses you with her hand gesture and we thought that was rude. If there was a 3.5 star option on this rating, I would give it that because it's not quite a 4. I'd say the winning merit of this hotel is truly just it's prime location because it's equidistant between Punta Pacifica and Casco Viejo, so getting in and out of here is super convenient.

We loved our stay at this hotel. Rooms and hotel are very clean and tidy. We had breakfast lunch and dinner at the hotel, every meal was great. The front desk team helped me to navigate around the city in a very expert way. The hotel’s location was perfect, just 10 mins from the old city, short ride from Panama Canal. We did all of it and this was our home location during our visit. Perfect perfect!

Returning to Panama with my family for the first time since my Army days was a truly special experience, and our stay at the InterContinental Miramar Panama over Thanksgiving made it unforgettable. Walking through the hotel, I felt a wonderful mix of nostalgia and excitement, and sharing this with my loved ones made it even more meaningful.||The team here went above and beyond at every turn. Carlos and Ernest in the restaurants made each meal a delight, and the Saturday night dance group added such a lively, joyous atmosphere that we all loved. Dulvis and Guido at the front desk were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making check-in and every interaction seamless. A special thank-you to Jacque at the taxi stand, whose 3-hour city tour was absolutely fabulous and a perfect way to experience the city’s history and culture.||From the beautiful accommodations to the warmth of the staff and the little touches that made our stay feel personal, every moment reminded me why Panama holds such a special place in my heart. I highly recommend the InterContinental Miramar Panama to anyone looking to create lasting memories—especially with family.

The Intercontinental Hotel on Miramar plaza is just as it sounds out of this world. I stay here a few times a year the entire stay is accommodating and nice. They welcome you with a smile and are always willing to help you with anything they can to make your stay that much better. I have stayed on 13, 15, and 18th floor I’m sure every room is spectacular of course. The bar staff is awesome, restaurant atmosphere is great, the pool is amazing (big, clean, and warm), I love coming here I’m sad that I’m purchasing my own place here so I won’t be staying at the hotel very much. When I have people come visit I will ensure to have them stay at the InterContinental for sure.

My initial reaction to our room was favorable. Nice size and beautiful view. At a closer glance, the overall condition was marginal - certainly not what I would expect from the Intercontinental brand! The bathroom sink, toilet & tub had scum and rings indicating to me (an admitted clean freak) that the cleaning was very superficial. Our room phone didn’t work, was reported right away, at the front desk, along with a request for a wine opener and a small table for our deck. The phone was never fixed. We weren’t able to call the front desk, concierge or room service or in the worst case, emergency services! The requested wine opener and table for our deck (2 chairs and nowhere to put anything) were never delivered. Sat night, the noise, music and vibrations from parties were so loud, we were unable to sleep. Guests should never be placed in close proximity to such invasive noise. Our last night, an offer was made to move us into a suite, but it was too little too late.

I booked a stat for two nights for my family through the hotel's website based on the pool and traditional Panamanian dinner show they advertised. They waited until they charged my credit card and I couldn't cancel to tell me that neither amenity would be available during my stay and offered nothing as recompense. They asked, as an automated email, if there was anything they could do to make my stay mor comfortable and I responded that I required distilled water for my CPAP. Apparently they did not read the email and do not have access to distilled water at all. I paid for a premium room and tge put us right next to the elevator. To their credit, when we notified the. They gave us an upgrade to a room away from the elevator albiet on a much lowr floor (8 insteadon 21). The rooms lack any soundproofing from outside noise and, because the hotel is situated between tow major roads, we could hear every car come by and even cars idling at the lights all night. It seems that some of the locals in the area pass their time driving in circles around this particular hotel while revving their engines to the max. The shower was terrible and had black mold on the blinds (which were not designed for showers but we're necessary as the showers were completely exposed to the nearby roads and hotels). I absolutely do not recommend this hotel.

The staff is great! The restaurant has excellent food, and the atmosphere is excellent all around. The location and view from the room is great. The proximity to downtown town enables you to walk just|About anywhere and if your going somewhere too far to walk, the MOST we paid for over was just u see $4. Highly recommended! Also recommend the club pass and sign up for IHG rewards. Well worth the benefit. Plus, signing up is freeeeee!

The best SUNDAY BRUNCH in the city… Great service, good location, tasty food and the right price. ILL BE BACK SOON NOTE: THE SERVICE AND STAFF ARE AMAZING
