InterContinental Resort Jiuzhai Paradise

Very unique architecture surrounded by mountains with a see through huge dome roof over the building entrance. However it is still cold in that area until you feel temperature is more acceptable after entering into the reception areas. Classy drinking bottles and sufficient 4 mineral water bottles were provided for. Room is huge with sitting sofa area, a balcony and bath tub as well as shower room. Shower water pressure is good. Walking to breakfast venue can be quite cold in the morning. Breakfast selection is not bad with individual yogurts pack available. Ginger tea and su yu cha /Tibetan butter tea are not bad. Location is up in the mountains and booking didi or taxi may not be easy.

The hotel is located about 30 minutes away from Jiuzhaigou. Although it is a bit remote, the hotel offers plenty of on-site activities and amenities. There are staff who can speak English. The property features numerous restaurants, hot springs, a small playground for kids, and evening performances. Guests can also try on traditional costumes for free. The hotel even sells medicine for altitude sickness at the front desk, which is very convenient. The room is spacious, though the furnishings and decor look a bit dated. Unfortunately, the view of the mountains is partially blocked by a glass dome structure. The facilities were great overall. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options to suit different tastes. There were vegetarian options. ⚠️Important Tip: I would recommend avoiding the hot springs on your first day, as the heat may cause dizziness—especially given the high altitude.

Room is clean and comfortable for a physically consuming vacation (expect to walk/ hike a lot at Jiuzhaigou and HuangLong). We enjoyed the balcony for a short while in the morning. However, we’re giving this stay an average rating because we paid a premium price for mediocre service. The hotel staff needs to increase their manpower for breakfast, it’s like a war zone every morning (stayed 3 nights, so we can attest that it was not a one off incident). We arrived at the breakfast buffet at 6:30 sharp everyday when they opened and no table was left, left scrambling to grab food from the counters. When we finally found a table, utencils were not ready, and super long walk from the food area to table…. Walked multiple times because we didnt have enough hands for food and water and coffee at the same time. Hotel is very cold at night.

This hotel had excellent service. The hotel conceirge " 一条淡水鱼" befriended me on wechat upon checking in. I was puzzled at first as to why he would do that. But it turned out to be the best move as I could ask him lots of questions about getting a driver, what time to leave hotel for day trips, etc. He went the extra mile to ensure that my Taobao package got sent to me at the hotel. Location wise, the resort is very tucked away from the main touristy area. A good 20min drive out. There is no ******* or even Taobao that delivers to the hotel so you are stuck with the one EXCELLENT hotel restaurant that remains open in Winter.

We booked a 2-night stay at the hotel. The property is located at the foot of a mountain with gorgeous scenery from the main road. It is located 30min drive away from the Jiuzhaigou scenic area. ||The property is huge with interesting facilities which we have not encountered in other hotels before. The large greenhouse and the terraced heated pools were pleasant surprise. ||The room (2-bedroom suite) was spacious, well appointed and well-equiped. ||F&B were on par with what you would expect from a 5-star hotel. The club lounge was closed but the food/drinks were served at a small restaurant/bar instead. The variety was generous and more than sufficient for dinner. We enjoyed the in-house cultural performance during dinner. ||We were well taken care of by Gordon, the General Manager, and his team. Special requests were accommodated with grace and sincerity. Special thanks to Scott, Susan, Tina and Yolanda for making our stay a memorable one.

Stayed here in the 2-bedroom suite for 2 nights. Room was spacious and had amazing views amidst the nature. We had Club lounge access which was closed but we were hosted food and drinks in one of their defunct Japanese restaurant instead. Selections were definitely sufficient and yummy! Hotel was huge with many interesting spaces like a greenhouse which housed all the restaurants and cafe and also a large heated indoor rice-terraces theme pool. Most importantly, we were well taken care of by the team there who served with utmost sincerity and passion. Special mention to Yolanda, Scott, Tina and Susan!

The hotel is very interesting with a greenhouse like enclosed area with plants and greenery. It was a fair walk from the check in through a long corridor and a long hallway to our room. The room is very nice and modernized and spacious. The customer service English is not great, they didn’t understand me when I called to ask for help when my TV would not shut off (turned out someone stole the batteries in the remote). The breakfast buffet was a nice spread. And there’s some cute bunnies and random peacocks on display.

Yolanda Wang was pretty helpful despite the front desk check in clerk was not train properly.. she make sure the rest of the service is up to the hotel standards. The international electric outlet is really outdated. Please upgrade it to meet the 5 stars standard.
