Our stay at InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace from December 28 to December 31 was, without question, the standout experience of our entire 31-day journey through Europe.
We stayed at several InterContinental properties along the way, and while each had its strengths, IC Rome truly set the gold standard for service, care, and genuine hospitality. The way this team treats every guest is unmatched.
Unfortunately, my traveling partner arrived in Rome with a sinus infection he had picked up during our river cruise just prior to arrival. The team handled the situation with incredible professionalism and kindness—arranging for a doctor to visit our room, coordinating prescriptions, and ensuring everything was taken care of smoothly and discreetly so he could begin feeling relief as quickly as possible. It was thoughtful, efficient, and deeply reassuring.
What impressed us even more was the consistency of care throughout our stay. Despite the constant flow of guests, the concierge team always greeted us by name and regularly checked in on my partner’s condition. That level of personal attention is rare—and meaningful.
Turndown service, minibar replenishment, and overall housekeeping were flawless. Every detail was handled with care and intention, and it’s the kind of service you don’t just notice—you remember.
Even something as minor as a technical issue with streaming content through the in-room platform never detracted from our experience. In fact, at checkout, the team member proactively acknowledged it again, sincerely apologized for the inconvenience, and expressed genuine empathy. That kind of awareness and accountability—especially when it didn’t impact how we felt about our stay—is exactly what creates loyal guests for life.
Rome itself was a bit challenging for us in some ways during this visit, but the experience at IC Rome is something we will never forget. The warmth, professionalism, and pride shown by the entire team left a lasting impression, and every person there should be incredibly proud of the hospitality they deliver.
When we return to Rome, there is no question where we will stay—and honestly, neither should anyone else.
