InterContinental San Salvador-Metrocentro Mall by IHG

A very comfortable, good, safe hotel...with one major issue on some nights. There seems to be an event hall at the venue that plays blaringly loud music on nights with event scheduled. It can go up till 11 pm. The noise comes into your room. I called front desk about it and all they could offer was that it was "about to end soon". See, this is a big issue for hotel guests trying to get quality sleep...especially if you have an early morning start next day. It was a shame because we otherwise liked the hotel and the comfort of the room. With a good location, you are not far away from the main spots (won't call it walkable but convenient). The interior is on the old-school 5-star side; the decor is not modern but traditional. We enjoyed breakfast, with a decent selection of fresh items and a live counter. The restaurant also offered some good options. Pizza was good! Overall, for the price, it was good value - except the loud music noise problem on certain nights. If they can soundproof their event center better and prioritize guest sleep more, this would definitely be an ideal option for your stay in San Salvador. Friendly service and nice people.

We only stayed one night, but the room was comfortable and perfect. Furnishing throughout the hotel were upscale and modern. Front Desk Staff was very nice and the Restaurant "Picasso" was delicious. Location was convenient for shopping and a short ride to anything else you might want to visit. While the pool area was small, it was very nice and had all the amenities and "feel" of a resort in the USA. Definitely would consider staying here again!

After checking in, I was sent to a room that was already occupied. The new room assigned was nice and clean. The shower, however has a shower head that hardly allowed water to flow, paired with a door-less shower and you will be cold while trying to clean. Service at the bar is slow, so order ahead, go play a game and come back to pickup. At night, they play music from their restaurant which you can hear into your rooms past 11pm. The location is great, paired with the mall that is located across the street. I will likely not stay here again unless I'm looking to party.

Great hotel with free parking at the multi-storey car park at the side. Rooms are well- furnished. There is an excellent range of choices at breakfast with very good service. The sushi restaurant in the hotel was divine and we did not need to pre-book. The hotel is outside of the main city, but Uber is easy and saves trying to find parking in the centre.

This was the first hotel we stayed at upon our arrival to San Salvador. It is about a 40-minute drive from the SAL international airport. There is a parking garage onsite. We had connecting rooms since we were traveling with our two teenagers. Rooms were spacious, beds were comfortable, plenty of soft towels and air conditioning worked well. The pool and pool bar were wonderful (fresh fruit frozen drinks, etc) were delicious and refreshing. Great location (quick Uber ride to the downtown center plaza of San Salvador). There are several restaurants at the hotel. We ate at the Brazilian restaurant and it was delicious with excellent service.

If you are coming to San Salvador, this is the hotel you need to choose. I'm from El Salvador but I have been raised here in California. I know that you must read my review. The staff speaks perfect English. The rooms are perfect. The restaurants in the hotel are exceptional, they have different cuisines, the food to die for. The breakfast is just delicious. They make your omelette the way you want it. They also cook for you fresh pupusas the way you like them. They serve you of yosweet tamales and chicken tamales. The fruit,spread unreal, plus French toast, pancakes, etc etc, all types of pastries. A selection of yogurts. But going back to your room super comfortable beds. I can't say enough about this hotel. I will come back again and again.

I stayed at IHG’s Intercontinental Metrocentro Mall for 7 days. I reserved a King Room with Executive Lounge access. Let me start with check in was easy and hotel staff was friendly. Luckily at the time of arrival my room was ready. My room appeared to be clean. I later saw that the duvet and pillow cases had seen better days. I did not let that ruin my stay. ||After getting settled for my stay I decided to visit the Executive Lounge. To my surprise my key card would not work so I had to go back down to main lobby. They did not add access to my room key although it was discussed during check in. The lounge is located in the 8th floor and it’s a small area with limited options for snacks and beverages. The lounge offers a daily happy hours with light snacks and limited cocktail selection. Happy hours can get a bit crowded for the space provided. The lounge also offers daily continental breakfast with limited fruit and pastry options. In my opinion, the lounge is beneficial for free water and sodas/pop but is a bit overrated and overpriced. ||The property offers restaurants, pool, gym, souvenir store. I only ate breakfast at one of the restaurants once during my stay. It is not a massive breakfast buffet. I was not impressed with what was offered for the price. I ended up going leaving the property for many of my meals during my stay. The pool area was nice. The gym offers standard cardio machines and machine and free weight (dumbbells) options. The best part of the time was the locker room which had a shower, lockers and sauna. ||After staying at other Intercontinental properties I decided to limit room cleanings during my visit. During my week stay they cleaned my room twice. The cleaning staff were very nice. ||The location is a great. There is a walking bridge from the hotel to the mall; very convenient. There are also a number of food options is walking or delivery distance to the hotel. Many tour companies offer pick up from this hotel. The hotel is popular so there will be a lot of food traffic in the lobby and common areas. Many events are held there. So if you are a guest be aware that there maybe parties going well into the night when you are trying to relax and unwind. ||Overall, you will have a solid stay at Intercontinental Metrocentro. Considering other amenities you need for your own stay, your stay maybe be perfect or it may need a little bit more not offered at the hotel.

I recently stayed at the InterContinental San Salvador-Metrocentro Mall and overall had a very positive experience. The location is excellent — right across from the huge Metrocentro Mall, so you have easy access to shopping, dining and convenience stores. The room was comfortable, the bed felt very good, and I appreciated the amenities (air-conditioning, good WiFi, etc). Staff at reception and throughout the hotel were friendly and professional, which made the stay smoother. Breakfast and dining were also highlights — the buffet had good variety and the restaurants on site were solid choices. A couple of things to note: If your room faces the busy street or is on a lower floor, you may hear noise in the evenings (there was a concert-event one night and the room was a bit affected). Some rooms show signs of wear (e.g., older décor, minor maintenance issues) — so it’s worth checking your particular room on arrival. Traffic around the hotel can be quite heavy at peak times, which may affect arrival/departure. Verdict: If you’re looking for a convenient, well-service hotel in San Salvador with good amenities and easy access to dining/shopping, this is a solid choice. For maximum comfort, request a higher floor and a room facing away from the street noise. Rating suggestion: ★★★★★ (5/5) I’d recommend staying here and would return, especially if I picked the right room.
