InterContinental Shanghai Pudong

A Pudong institution that continues to shine. A mix up at check in around club access was quickly resolved, and we enjoyed a 6 night stay. The rooms are spacious and quiet…the beds supremely comfortable with high quality linen. A great bar in the lobby, and easy access to a local metro station. The winner was the lounge on the 24th floor…here the team of Lily, York, Becky and Arin made us feel right at home. This is one of the best hotel lounge experiences I’ve enjoyed for many years. A full breakfast and ample catering to make it an easy light dinner stop. I’m a lap swimmer, and unfortunately the hotel pool does disappoint….it’ tiny! Sales of swimming caps at RMB 88.00 was somewhat extortionate!

Location wise the hotel is very excellent and rooms are also very cosy and comfortable. Moreover the restaurant serving excellent food and appreciation to the staff at the lobby. Very helpful and thoughtful, if they find you a little confused, they will come and offer you help. That’s a five star service, found Mr Success Jung very kind and helpful for resolving the small issues i faced. Overall the hotel was a very good experience. Will come back

I’ve stayed here back in 2006 and loved it and came back to Shanghai in 2025 and stayed here again. Feels like home. Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast, Estella from front desk is a win for the hotel, all issues resolved and organized perfectly. I’ll come back!

Beautiful hotel, from the moment you arrive you’re greeted by friendly and polite staff, we were upgraded to a lovely room with views to the city. The buffet breakfast is so good with plenty choices and my favourite was the cute and yummy pumpkin dumplings. The buffet dinner is also great with drinks included such as wine. I was also surprised with a delicious birthday cake for my birthday including a card and a photo to keep. We thank Samantha for organising the especial birthday celebration for me and for her professionalism and attention to detail. The location is great only 3 blocks walking to the nearest Metro station Century Avenue where Line 2 takes you directly to the airport or the city centre and it’s so easy to transfer to other lines. The AP markets are just one stop away from Century Avenue. I loved Shanghai and if we go back to visit again we will definitely stay at the Intercontinental Pudong.

Great lounge services by Lily, Anne and Yvonne and high quality of food. One of the best coffee you could have in China. A big variety of freshly squeezed juices.

One of the best experiences I have ever had in terms of the room size, cleanliness, location and the amazing staff. Gym facilities need to be redesigned again to give the guests a better experience. Very recommended to any one who is visiting Shanghai.

It was out 2nd time staying in this hotel. The room was clean and the service was excellent. Break was delicious with lots of options . Staff were so kind and helpful. The only problem we had was the room temperature.Although the air conditioner was set on 18 degrees, the room was warm. Overall we enjoyed our stay .

Even this hotel is an older property it's very well maintained and has a Timeless classic elegance about it throughout the public areas at the rooms. I was upgraded at my room was massive. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the bathroom well appointed. Staff in the executive lounge were impeccable. The hotel is about a six minute walk from the nearest subway but it's flat. I would definitely return.
