Our three‑night stay at InterContinental Robertson Quay from February 28th to March 3rd greatly exceeded my wife’s and my expectations, as detailed below.
When we checked into the hotel around 9:00PM on Saturday evening, we were greeted in a friendly and welcoming manner — and it only got better from there.
Shortly after arriving in our room, I received the following WhatsApp message: “Welcome, Mr ______________. It is great to have you with us at InterContinental Singapore Robertson Quay. We trust your room is to your satisfaction.”
And on Sunday morning: “Hello, Mr ______________, was the sleep quality last night up to standard and did the room meet your expectations when you arrived? We want to make sure everything in your room is working perfectly — is there anything we should fix or improve right away?”
We had booked a Luxury Escapes package, which included an upgrade to a top‑floor room, and we were delighted to receive it.
To our surprise and enjoyment, the welcome bottle of Champagne was actual Champagne - not Prosecco or sparkling wine as we expected, as is often the case on such packages. Thank you Luxury Escapes, and thank you InterContinental Robertson Quay!
Though not large, our room was thoughtfully designed and very functional, with enough space to store our three suitcases neatly out of the way.
The bed was firm, just as we prefer, and the soft pillows were so comfortable I was tempted to take one home - but resisted.
From the filtered water system in each room; the full‑sized Byredo bath amenities (no more tiny plastic bottles); to the motion‑sensor lighting, the eco‑friendly touches at InterContinental Robertson Quay are outstanding. The hotel’s certification by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council reinforces that this property is a leader in eco‑conscious hospitality.
What impressed us most, however, was the exceptional service from so many team members, especially those in the Club InterContinental Lounge, which we accessed daily through our Luxury Escapes package.
Special thanks to Adi, who clearly runs a smooth and professional operation, supported ably by Pauline, Cluwie, and Leona, among others (far too many to remember by name).
Farid, Inhee, and Dvin at the Front Desk were also extremely helpful in printing and copying documents we needed before boarding our cruise.
Eunice, who handled most of my WhatsApp communication, was always quick to respond - far more promptly than was necessary or expected.
Although I hold Lifetime Titanium Elite status with Marriott Bonvoy, which provides Executive Lounge access and other amenities, if my wife and I return to Singapore and can secure another Luxury Escapes package, we would most certainly choose to stay at InterContinental Robertson Quay again.
