The quality of the bed linen was fantastic - I’d love to know where I could buy it for my bedroom at home. I also appreciated the grey and embroidery labelled MakeUp Remover face towel. I’ve stayed in too many hotels this year that don’t even provide a face washer (flannel) and have had to start travelling with one from home. Also appreciated the cosy robe. The staff were all exceptionally kind and professional - even when I ran into the breakfast room 10mins before they were due to close.

Centrally located. Harbour view rooms have a great view. Recommend a Club Room which gives access to a really good club lounge which we used extensively. Well worth the extra cost. Great greeting on arrival. Room a little dated - a bit less brown and fawn would improve it no end. Wifi was good. Walking distance of many of Wellington's attractions, including Te Papa.

We wanted to like this hotel and there were some positives. The room was well laid out, had a comfortable bed and a good bathroom. We had a harbour view, so that was nice. I cannot complain about the quality of the room. However, they were doing renovations and there was no bar/lounge area. Fortunately, we had booked a room with access to the Club Lounge so we had our breakfasts and evening drinks there. (I personally am not in love with Club Lounges, but in this case were very thankful for it.) The weather was so bad, we didn't want to leave the hotel so the lack of amenities was very difficult. When we asked about a bar, the staff told us they didn't have one and that the ones across the street would be too crowded so there were no options. I just felt that the hotel didn't really care much about your experience, or maybe they were just tired because of the ongoing renovations.

I usually have a preferred hotel in Wellington, but circumstances meant I had to stay here—and I’m glad I did. I think I’ve found my new go-to. The rooms are immaculate, spacious, and well-appointed. The lobby is a beautifully designed space with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a stunning fireplace—perfect for meetings, catching up with friends, or simply unwinding after a long day. What truly sets this hotel apart is the service. This is the kind of place where you can have breakfast one morning and return the next to find the staff not only remember your name but also your coffee order and the small details of how you like your breakfast served. The concierge was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the local area, offering thoughtful and accurate recommendations. They were also fun to have a conversation with. The only downside was the dinner experience—while the food was of excellent quality, the portion sizes were exceptionally small, leaving our group having to order multiple additional dishes. In a venue of this calibre, modest portions are expected, but in this case they felt inadequate. I must say the staff service was amazing though. Despite that, the overall experience more than made up for it. I’ve found my new preferred hotel in Wellington.

Your hotel is great, the location excellent and you have really good staff. Your buffet brekky is amazing, except for 1 concerning aspect. Your cold cuts, salmon and cheeses, on a centre table, are not temperature controlled. This represents the potential for a significant food safety concern. Whilst cold food can be in an uncontrolled environment for up to 4 hours, serving it this way is a risk that is easily controlled by the use of a temperature controlled environment for these offerings. Other than this, your place is sensational.

We came to the Welling Hotel expecting a “wow” experience (excuse the pun) , but were completely let down. We paid over $3,000 for a room for three nights (for three people), yet the room was only set up for two — just two towels, two robes, two slippers, two cups, and two bottles of water. We had to keep asking for more each day, and even after the room was serviced, the same issue happened again.||There was also no proper reception or lounge area due to earthquake strengthening works — something we were not told about in advance. It was a huge disappointment, as this completely changed the experience we were expecting.||We were offered a $20 voucher as compensation — frankly insulting considering the amount we paid.||This was our second stay here, and it will definitely be our last. The value and service were nowhere near acceptable for the price charged.

Lovely room, fantastic location and nice breakfast. Renovations are unfortunate. We didn't realise at first, as we weren't told ahead of time and wondered why reception was odd and in two different places (concierge at entrance and check-in on level 2). There's currently no restaurant and nowhere to lounge, and breakfast was set up in one of the conference rooms - not the most atmospheric. One request would be at breakfast not to have meat dishes in the same heated trays as non-meat items, and not to have the cold cut meats right next to other things - people tend to use the same utensil for multiple dishes so you don't know what you're getting when you pick up a spoon/tongs. I didn't hear any renovation noise while we were there.

Excellent choice for a Wellington hotel, love the location so close to the water to head out for a wander or a run. I have tried a number of Wellington hotels now but find this the most convenient and consistent in terms of service. ||The room was faultless with great views of the Harbour on a high floor as requested per the room category. Yes agree.. the hotel is not the newest but I loved the service. ||Will be my ongoing choice for Wellington travel from now on, |Stayed 25th June - ||p.s. in house reservations team was great and very friendly. |See you in July!
