Intermezzo Bar

I've enjoyed coffee with cake here a couple of times. Service is impeccable and the coffee excellent. The patisserie is perhaps not the very best in the city but is certainly up there with it. I thoroughly enjoyed the chocolate mousse cake. I also really love the traditional style of the ladies' room! My friend had some of the white tea on the menu - but it was disappointingly bitter. Perhaps too many leaves, perhaps left for too long?

Luxe Vibe, Great Drinks, Old World Glamour.......We visited this gorgeous bar during our 2 stays at the Intercontinental during Feb/March. We spent several evenings in the bar (as the Club Intercontinental lounge was shut during our stay). This is our vibe - we understand some people like modernist, Scandinavian, bare birch chic. Not us - we love the old world luxury vibe, the massive (who cleans that thing?) crystal chandelier surrounding the altar (to booze, fun and good times). The drinks are amazing - particularly the Mai Tais and the Aperol Spritz. They also have a variety of Gin & Tonics - my oh my! Just. So. Good. The staff are incredibly friendly, helpful and professional - big shout out to Thomas, so far so good old friend. Even if we weren’t staying there but happened to be in Vienna - we’d definitely go back, for the service, the vibe, the drinks and those awfully addictive Wasabi peanuts.

A great place in the center of Vienna where you can travel back in time, in the best sense of the word. The staff are extremely professional, giving the impression of having stepped straight out of a Wes Anderson movie, which only enhances the positive experience of sipping a Negroni after midnight and helps soften the shock of the bill (Negroni for €16.50).

I visited this place for the first time with a friend after reading several positive reviews. The food was good, and the atmosphere was pleasant and we genuinely enjoyed those aspects. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. When we asked the waiter to split the bill, he responded in a passive-aggressive manner and insisted that we calculate it ourselves. The way this was communicated felt rude and humiliating and significantly affected our mood and overall perception of the place. He also made an unnecessary comment implying that he “works all day” while we were “just sitting,” which felt disrespectful. Considering that the prices are not cheap and that we still left a tip, we expected a more professional and courteous level of service. It’s a shame, as the service did not match the otherwise nice atmosphere of the bar. With improved service and more respectful communication, this place could offer a much better overall experience.

Yesterday a very kind man with glasses helped us. He was very professional and friendly, and he’s clearly very good at his job. By the way, I loved that you can eat the cookies from the ‘Christmas’ house.

They promptly opened the breakfast after I was waiting after arriving from a morning flight - highly appreciated. The service was prompt, respectful, and cheerful. I enjoyed eggs Benedict and an americano. This was a perfect start to my day in Vienna and I will definitely be coming back!

Excellent Food Superb Service 🥰 I ate a full course dinner meal in very fabulous seating and dining conditions. Tomato Soup, Zander Filet, Anna Mignon Cake and I drank Earl Grey Tea. Fabulous Classic Piano Music 🎼 on the background.

Very nice bar! Good drinks, I can recommend the cucumber Gin fizz. I love that they always refill the nuts and water. The staff was very nice! Good atmosphere
