International au Lac Historic Lakeside Hotel

This was a hotel as you want a traditional hotels to be. The staff were formal and professional. The common areas were large and beautiful in a traditional style. Fantastic backyard with pool and very good sun conditions. The rooms were also in a traditional style which certainly has its charm. Our room could perhaps have needed a little upgrade considering what you need in 2025, but it was clean and nice. The bathroom was large and felt more modern than the rest of the room. The breakfast was continental with a good selection and it could be taken in several rooms. Parking in a private garage, with a private entrance to the lobby, absolutely great. The location was very good for us, close to the beach promenade and in a pleasant street towards the old town. We will be back!

This is a great located hotel. The staff were helpful and the parking garage was a plus even though it was $20 SF per day. Breakfast is $20 SF per person but very good with fresh fruit, bacon and eggs, yogurt, and a variety of breads. Very close to ferry stop and within walking distance to San Salvatore lift. Get a room with a lake view for maximum enjoyment. The honor bar is reasonable and very handy if it rains.

We would highly recommend this hotel. It is lovely, located perfectly for restaurants, shops and scenery etc|The staff are friendly and very accommodating of requests.|There is a beautiful garden with a pool which is great during the summer. |The breakfast is plentiful and something for everyone. |There is a self serve honesty bar with a selection of drinks including coffee wine and fizz. |We had a lovely room with balcony looking across the lake.

Wonderful and beautiful historic hotel. All the staff are very welcoming. Beautiful location on Lake Lugano. Easy to drive to with easily accessible parking. A grand dame of another time. Yet kept up beautifully. The lobby is a fantastic room to read or play cards after a day of wandering around the lake and the old town. Everything you can need is right out the front door.

We finished a three week trip to Europe in Lugano and what a great experience we had at this hotel. We arrived late morning and while our room was not ready the front desk agent stowed our bags and proceeded to give us some great pointers on what to see in Lugano. Off we went to lunch and sight-seeing. The hotel is a historical site next to a church and is in the city center. However, our room was quiet, well appointed and perfect in every way. Great location, room and service....everything an outstanding hotel should be! I will be back to Lugano on a future trip and this is definitely where I will choose to stay!

Beautiful hotel. Great location. We stayed in the junior suite with 3 kids and 2 adults. My children loved the go-carts and giant chess game available to play with. Awesome bathtub with LED lights in the ceiling. Large delicious breakfast.

A beautiful hotel in a great location. Lots of areas in the hotel to explore and relax. Loved the rooftop area, as well as the honesty bar area, where one could sit rather than in their room. Good breakfast and pleasant staff. Room was a nice size and the bedding comfortable. Nice updated bathroom. Unfortunately we arrived at the beginning of May to discover that the hotel had not yet turned on their air conditioning. It was very warm the day we arrived and our room was quite warm. We opened the windows and they offered to deliver a fan, which helped. However, because the windows had to remain open and we faced the water, the traffic noise and people noise late at night was not helpful to sleep. That being said, we would stay here again.

Gorgeous family owned hotel. Amazing location. Have been staying there since 2008. Very helpful and friendly staff. Marvellous breakfast buffet, included in the process of room. Garden and pool - surrounded by palm trees and roses. I highly recommend this hotel.
