International Guest House

Conveniently located and has a lovely garden area where you can escape the hustle of Thamel and admire the wooden architecture, many pots and Bhuddas. Food is served here too. Some rooms above the cafe are noisy but those overlooking the garden less so. Rooms had AC.|Buffet breakfast was good and cafe at the front provides reasonably priced filter coffee. Staff very accommodating over storing luggage while people were on trips.

My husband had stayed here on a previous trip and brought me here on our next stay in Kathmandu. The gardens are lovely! Our room is clean, comfortable and decorated. The tv actually works, which is so rare in Nepal! Breakfast is adequate. Staff is friendly and professional. The rooms that overlook the garden are quieter.

We had a very relaxed stay in the middle of Thamel. The staff was friendly, we could leave our bags during a trekking and the room was very clean and comfortable!

A very good hotel at a very good price 👌 The rooms are a good size, the bed was very comfortable and the hotel is very clean. We arrived early and they were very accommodating to us. You can store luggage securely when you're away trekking. In such a busy area, you don't hear the outside noise, which is a bonus.

Best stay. I’ve traveled globally and I think this is my favorite place to stay. Great staff, wonderful hospitality

International Guest House is a well priced hotel centrally located in the main tourist district, but on a quieter street. It has a lovely garden courtyard where you can relax and enjoy the nice breakfast buffet that is included with your stay; when we stayed, the citrus trees blooming gave off an incredible scent! The staff are very friendly and attentive. We stayed in three different rooms during our stops in Kathmandu: the "deluxe" rooms are worth the extra 10-15 usd a night as they have air conditioning and are a bit bigger. Like many place in Nepal, hot water is provided by solar heaters, so you may not get a hot shower first thing in the morning. Wait until the afternoon to guarantee hot water! All and all, we would gladly stay here again!

Ended up staying here 3 times for short periods throughout our 7 weeks travelling/trekking in Nepal. Every time we stayed, it felt as good as returning home. The staff were so friendly and welcoming every time. The rooms are beautiful and clean with great facilities. After returning from trekking I was struggling with health issues and needed to go to hospital (obviously a stressful experience when overseas) the staff called me an ambulance at 2am and waited with me as it arrived. They went as far as to even give me a little shoulder massage to make me feel better while I waited. I cannot express how appreciative I am to international guest house for how caring and supportive they were throughout our trip. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Thamel!
