I was upgraded from their capsule hotel to a room here because it turns out they have extra rooms to spare during my stay. Yay!||||The room is perfect for a solo traveller. There was fast Wifi, good room and water heating, a small fridge and even an air filter, along with other stuff I don’t use such as TV and hair-dryer. The bed was also exceedingly comfortable. In fact, the only thing I need and couldn’t find was a microwave oven.. but then I suddenly remembered that this is not an Airbnb. ||||All the staff here, from concierge to housekeeping, were very nice and helpful, greeting me with a smile whenever they saw me. Also, the free bicycles were awesome, making my exploration of the town a breeze. ||||I enjoyed my time here so much that I extended my stay in Yamaguchi for another two nights!

We stayed here for 8 nights this October. We had booked a double bed room and found it to be spacious. What was lacking was that there was very little drawer space to store our clothing. Even the nightstand between the beds did not have any drawer to store clothing, We were able to use our suitcases as storage. The closets had hangers only.||||The room itself was spacious and we had a lovely view of downtown Yamaguchi. The beds were very comfortable and we had very relaxing sleeps||||The location of the hotel is perfect for many reasons. Its minutes away from the museum , restaurants, grocery store, shopping and only 1 block away from the post office which has an ATM with English translation on it, which is perfect for North American travellers. The hotel offers free bicycles which is perfect for touring Yamaguchi’s beautiful streets.||||The cleaning staff did a wonderful job in keeping our room clean. We want to thank the staff for their great work and service. We felt the cleanliness of the hotel was very good. ||||The Reception staff we found truly amazing!!||||Sun Route Hotel..... You can be very proud of the hotel reception / lobby staff that works at this hotel. They accommodated us in every way possible way. We especially want to thank Ishii who understood English very well and helped us with so many things. She helped us so much. This is not to take away from the rest of the staff who also gave us friendly smiles everyday, and tried very much to make us feel comfortable. We were very sad to leave here after our stay.||||On our next visit to Yamaguchi, we will stay here again.

I didn't like staying there. It is quit expensive for what you get. Double the price I used to pay for capsule hotel in Japan. The check in & check out time not comfortable at all. They will not let you get in earlier even if the room is clean & even if the hotel is empty... I can't understand this attitude in Japan towards tourists... you pay for room but you can't enter it until 16:00 pm...so strict without a reason ! Also the check out time is 10:00am so be ready to wake up very early because if you late they will extra charge you... The toilets are far from the dormitories so if you need them you need to walk for a while. The city is very boring so the only reason staying there is the famous caves there, that are quit far from this hotel, so you better find more close hotel with a better attitude near the caves...

Stayed a night at this Hotel. Walking distance from the train station (15mins).||Also, is near a park, their shopping streat and restaurants. To note that most closed early (at around 7pm is quiet). We packed Oden for dinner at 7 Eleven. (It is tasty).||If you are a non smoker please remember to indicate Non Smoking Room. We had the last room available and it really reeks of smoking that it lingers on my clothes just for the night. This is even after we spray generously with the room spray provided.||Otherwise is a pleasant hotel minus the smell for me.

This hotel was great. Clean, inexpensive, located near the downtown shopping area, and they have 4 city bicycles that guests can use for free.

A perfectly serviceable budget hotel -- nothing at all stands out in my mind as worthy of special mention as I write this. Rate was a tad on the high side, @7500 yen per night including breakfast, which I can't remember, to be honest. That's usually a sign of something being fine. The abnormally good or bad places I tend to remember well. You'll do fine here.

I stayed here based on reviews of the hotel. Yamaguchi doesn't have many options for lodging so this is a good option. It is a bit of a walk from the station but easy enough to find. For Americans you may be surprised to see a Big Boy restaurant near the hotel. The staff were nice and the room was sufficient enough.
